I've been reading a Gravity Falls fanfic called "The Therapist" by @bapple117, where you - The reader- are Bill Cipher's Therapist in the Theraprism. I was on Bapple's Discord server and came across a conversation asking "What if Bill had a secret collection of art he made of the therapist and got super flustered when the therapist finds them."

Transformers One
I just thought of something sad. Now, my fellow fans, you will suffer with me. I apologize in advance. Also, if you haven't seen Transformers One yet... this is your warning. Spoilers are present!
Orion, D-16, Elita, and Bee were given t-cogs by Alpha Trion. D-16 became a tank, equipped with a massive gun. Orion received smaller guns, but they can only be used in his vehicle form. At least, that's the only time we see them in use before be became Optimus Prime.
That means Orion had the ability to defend himself when he was trying to stop D-16 from killing Sentinel. He took punches to the face. He fell to the ground. I think it's safe to say that Orion knew D-16 would resort to violence, and yet...
He never fired at D-16.
He could have seriously hurt his friend, or at least slowed him down. I think Orion hoped D-16 would stop, evaluate the situation, and consider how to best deal with Sentinel. Orion didn't think D-16 would fire on him... why else would he get in D-16's way? Or, maybe he wanted to keep D-16 from succeeding in his task, which would taint his reputation. Maybe Orion acted recklessly and wasn't really thinking, but I highly doubt that. There was purpose behind it.
Hurting or killing D-16 wasn't his priority, even if he had the ability to use force.
He still held out hope that his best friend would come back. He hoped hesitance and critical thinking would come to the forefront of D-16's mind.
Orion only fights when he has to, even in the bleakest of times. His words are powerful for a reason.
So yeah, now I'm sad. Orion cared more about his friend's condition than his own.

As someone who ships Falin and Marcille it really fucking sucks to see people say that the only way the story makes sense is if Marcille is in love with Falin or that a romance is driving the plot. It absolutely flattens the complexity of their characters and the themes of their respective arcs to attribute any of the motivations as romantic. I'm not talking about shipping in general, we are all entitled to play with our toys, but insisting, in particular, that the actions Marcille takes could obviously only happen because of romantic devotion is borderline insulting to the complete story we're presented because it refuses to engage with it. And what is Falin in that framing? Chopped liver? I like both of their characters too much to take those shortcuts and I'm too old now to be swayed by a recommendation for anything that amounts to "It's gay!"

I keep thinking how sad Quill Kipps' whole deal is. He's brought up as a child soldier and he becomes quite good at it, good enough to work at one of the best agencies. He works hard, suffers, loses people, carries on because it's all got to be worth it. He ages in a system that prioritizes youth and feels everything special about him slowly starting to slip away. He has put everything into being an elite agent and he's about to age out of everything he's ever known.
He gets tangled with an unruly bunch of independent agents. They're annoying rule breakers but god they're amazing. Part of his beef with them is he can feel their talent rolling off them in waves making him acutely aware of how his is almost used up. When it becomes unsafe for him to pretend any more, he does what other agents do and becomes a supervisor. He keenly feels the separation from himself and agents in the field and finds he now can't just sit on the sidelines and watch others put their lives at stake when he can't help.
He's adrift, nothing to his name but his old reputation and a set of skills that are no longer useful. He ends up tangled back with the independents because they trust him - need him - and by god does he want to be needed. He wants so desperately to be part of their world again. They find some goggles that allow him to see visitors again and he's like a kid at Christmas. He can finally be involved again! It doesn't have to be over!
While working with them he learns everything he was taught to believe in was a lie, the prestigious agency he gave his entire being for is causing the rise of spirits. Once his involvement is found out, he loses his pension and privileges. He is cut off entirely from his old support system. With nothing left, the independents take him in. He's useful but he knows it's more out of pity. He works hard, almost dies and fights to dismantle the very establishment he spent his best years serving. The battle is won but things stay the same for him.
He is still a young adult clinging with aching fingers onto his childhood and teen years because that was the only way he had purpose. His closest friends are still young teens, five or more years younger than him. He chastises them for their childishness even as he desires more than anything to be one of them. He is Peter Pan, refusing to grow up because there is nothing for him as an adult in haunted England. He does not even look towards his future because he cannot let go of his shining past where he was actually needed.

bnha will end soon, and i’m bursting with how much feelings i’m going through especially after i’m reading many congratulations already and thanking to horikoshi for giving us such amazing story. this manga has been with me when i was still in high school, i was just a teen back in 2017 when on that beautiful and older twitter i’ve seen people talking about mha, curiosity got me and i started it and it has been best decision of my life. because this wasn’t a shonen like others, mostly because izuku wasn’t like some other shonen protagonists. he was the voice of all that people that in their life no one encouraged them, that everyone underestimated because someone like them can’t do great things. but despite all they continued to follow their own dreams, no matter how much work it would take. deku has been all of those things, and it’s rare for me to kin a character so much, but he catch my attention because he was and is just like me. i’m not joking that the “deku wouldn’t give up” has been my mantra by now . so, here we are now soon at the end, but it’ll end knowing those characters got our heart and especially deku got kacchan’s heart and became his sun that he finally accepted into his life.
we love our hero academia and thanks horikoshi for showing us this beautiful art, reaching at a conclusion of bakugou and izuku’s development as both characters and their relationship

they would have been incredible! their illyria and wes duologues are already really great and have this play-like feel to them. i always thought there was a sort of rosencrantz and guildenstern vibe there, and in my s5 au with infinite resources we're hiring sir tom stoppard to write a bunch of arcadia-style, physics-themed conversations between them on grief and being. what do you mean he has better things to do then write for my fantasy tv show

yeah, he's american! i think i'd personally keep the accent because it's more devastating the more similar illyria is to her shell. i also always interpreted fred!illyria as having an american accent because... muscle memory, i guess? idk, i feel like there's a lot of interesting questions to explore about where illyria's host ends and where she begins.
(ie. pronouns, for instance! i'm partial to the [not necessarily canon-compliant] headcanon that illyria was worshiped as a god of incomprehensible demon gender which best aligns with she/her in modern english, but is ultimately divorced from the body she's in. i just like the gender fuckery of wes!illyria using she/her, though he/him wes!illyria also accomplishes something similar in a different way. which, to go back to the original question: how much of illyria is innate? how much does she absorb the 'essence' of her host? how much does she absorb other people's interpretations of her host? these are the questions that keep me up at night.)

Quick reminder cherry had EVERY RIGHT to not wanna go see Johnny in the hospital, as if he even wanted to see her. She wasnt the reason he was in there. Even if he did kind of defend her from dally it's still stupid.
He quite literally KILLED HER BOYFRIEND. Mf I would not want to see my boyfriends killer either 😭😭🙏

Hey, I remember you mentioning on your IG something about two types of popular artists and one being good at social media and the other being good at art or something like that (I can't really remember lol). But it got me thinking, any tips for how to be good at social media? Cuz I'm certainly not even after posting art for six years lol
Heya!
What I meant by that is that there are traits that allow you to grow on social media, and traits that determine what a highly skilled artist is, and those traits do not always necessarily overlap.
I've seen so many amazing artists that post artwork that blow my head off, and yet they don't have many likes. On the other hand, some artists at the same skill level who draw more popular things will get way more attention.
That is not to say that either is the correct way to create art, but there is definitely a formula to social media that is in play.
There are a lot of posts about how to grow a social media account, particularly on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram art spheres, and imo you really need to examine what you want from your art before jumping into social media mode
The stuff you create to pander to social media might not be art that you want to create at all - I'm lucky, because I am less artist more storyteller, and what I enjoy is telling jokes and silly stories to liven up people's moods :] this, of course, conveniently does well on social media. On a personal note, I have a history of being a recluse and not connecting well with people, and art is my way of trying to communicate my feelings, one way or another.
So of course, if you draw for any reason other than my own, my approach to art and it's relation to social media might be inappropriate for you.
All that being said, if u take a look at those "get big on social media" videos they always cite the same few points... And you can look into that, for sure, but this video sums up how I feel about all that.
I spent like 20 minutes drafting words after the above paragraph, but I really ended up regurgitating sentiments from the video... So really don't listen to me, listen to that video
EDIT:
I just realised I didnt actually answer the question with my anecdotal experience, so here's a list of things I did
1. Posted like 3 doodles a day on social media
I did this for 6 months on a side account on Twitter recently and got the account to 11k followers... And I did this for 3 months on Instagram a few years ago and I think got 3.5k followers. Of course, do not spam maliciously and make sure your art is still of good quality, but for those artworks I posted quickly, I did not colour, and mostly did clean sketches. This also trains you in the matter of line confidence haha. Again, this worked for me because of my set of circumstances (love for the media, want to tell stories, simple art style)
2. Focus on my favourite aspects of media
This helps with respect to burnout - kinda hard to burnout when you love what you're making! For me, it's character interactions and comics. I want to see my blorbos kiss and if I'm not the one drawing it who will?!
3. Interact with people
People eat up work that they can interact with. A choose your own story situation, one of those like/rt to strip a character 😭 those do numbers for a reason.
Additionally, if you post stuff people love, people will respond to it with comments, maybe their own headcanons, adding on to the work... I've gone into long looong Twitter thread conversations with people who added onto my ideas that I threw up onto the screen and I think it's also a nice thing to do to respond to positive comments haha... I'm not very good at this (read: bad at communication)
