honestly i think dnps "hard launch" might just be them not hiding anymore. i guess by definition that isn't a hard launch but i still doubt we will get a textbook definition hard launch from them. i feel like they might just start acting as if they did hard launch and let us fill in the blanks because at this point thats basically what is already happening so it makes sense for them to just continue on this trend and then one day do something that has no other interpretation than them being in a romantic relationship and that will be that. and then they will just probably act the same as they do now tbh but everyone will be 100% on the same page (lets be real though they could post wedding photos and some randos in the comments would be like "they got married platonically!!!")

I mentioned a date night episode in the last post (apollo really did bless me with foresight for the date night job on that one) but for considerment: ot3 date night. possibly their first date night after they all get together. breanna and sophie know it's happening (harry is, like, peripherally aware) and some crime hijinks are going down and the three of them are frantically trying to stop bad things from happening that are going to interfere with the date. I want to see them going through it behind the metaphorical curtain. I want to see breanna fighting for her life trying to out-hack the hacker that is going to ruin their ten-part itineraried date. harry has to get in a fistfight and eliot is so proud about it when he finds out after everything is over

tree law episode. harry has been frothing at the mouth about it since it was made. his life has been moving him towards this penultimate moment. breanna thinks it's HILARIOUS and cheers him on 100% of the way. she is VERY enthusiastic about this con

con that the food trucks have plot-relevance. like, one of his food truck stations is being harassed /victimized by, like, a local gang or something that takes advantage of food truck/cart workers and the team steps in. the actual (veteran) food truck workers get involved in the con. leverage international might just have gained a few retainer members

quinn should come back for an episode. I know the actor is friends with ckane. they should make it happen because it would be iconic and I said so

on a similar note, ckane is friends with jensen ackles and. guys. wouldn't it- wouldn't it be extremely funny if a flame from eliot's past named sean sylvester who is a rugged drifter with a questionable past

episode where tara or maggie (or BOTH, can you imagine how powerful that would be???) come back and there is slight flirting with sophie possibly??? that or very obvious chemistry from a past tryst. sophie has slept with both of them, I know it in my heart of hearts. bonus points if tara and maggie fall in love (I think it would be funny. maggie's taste in men is canonically atrocious, I think she deserves someone like tara at this point)

I feel like it's too stereotypical to have sophie have kids put on a play but we all know that's exactly what she would do. idk for harry? i'm thinking of three types i wanna explore

twin au's. already dipped my toes in it and i like twin aus. it's my normal go-to for this sort of thing lol

older brother og!shang qinghua. ngl, people sold me with their fanart LOL im a weak man to adorable fanart oki

adopted brother au: oki bear with me, but what if baby airplane just gets... dropped into pidw with no family and he gets adopted by one of his scummy canon fodder villains? no blood relations for reassurance (not that airplane gets all that much reassurance from blood relations) just some one who has no obligations to him, who airplane KNOWS has a shitty personality, choosing to adopt him and take care of him? get found family'd, idiot! i just love airplane being the family that someone actively CHOSE

oki so the next thing i need to consider is og!shang qinghua's personality, because lbr, the barebones we get from svsss is noootttt a lot lmfao (og!shang qinghua extra when?). butttt from what we do know, he's supposed to be the sort of person who would work for two bosses, backstabbing either one or both of them

there is actually the potential for og!shang qinghua to be a bit of a su xiyan in this regard 🤔because of the lack of information we have, it's possible he could have actually been a double agent working for cang qiong while pretending to work against it. im not sure i like this path, bc im ngl, i kinda like the characterization of him being a self-serving greedy worm (i have a weakness for characters who are like this okay). but it's worth considering. he could also be playing the game from all angles. cang qiong think he's infiltrating the northern desert on their behalf, mobei-jun thinks he's infiltrating cang qiong on his behalf, and ultimately, og!shang qinghua is 100% his own man who's backstabbing them all LOL

there's also the uncle of it all to consider. linguang-jun is the most viable ally for anyone who might want an upper hand against mobei-jun, and if og!shang qinghua is gutsy enough, he might consider working for him

there's also the possible iteration of him thats 100% cowardly victim who literally never had a choice in any of it and died pathetically after being betrayed by everyone. again, the lack of actual canon info about him makes this possible? and it wouldnt not match up with airplane's pattern with tragic villains. that said, im not a fan of this route bc frankly i'm here for villain-fucking, not for "he was actually the most uwu baby of them all!!!" but i gotta acknowledge the possibility of this category, to actually take into consideration og!shang qinghua's personality. if we think of airplane's pattern with villains tho, none of them are absolutely innocent or kind. shen jiu is undeniably a victim of his circumstances annnnnddddd he also tried to rape ning yingying, so clearly he's not a good dude

there is also a line in the novel where shen yuan says that "shang qinghua was written the same way as shen qingqiu", specifically with regards to being lustful. so it's very likely that og!shang qinghua is into brothels and sex and might be a bit of a horndog

so

with consideration to the above (and anything i forgot that people wanna remind me of because i have the memory of a peanut) the things i wanna consider for his personality are

self serving and greedy (personal preference but it's canon compliant so shhhh)

slutty in at least one way (very likely brothels considering the context and very likely hetero in those slutty ways)

a very good liar (a necessity of the position of a double agent)

good at logistics (thats how you become the an ding peak lord after all)

probably has a tragic backstory (as is airplane's penchant with canon fodder villains)

had a bad relationship with mobei-jun (otherwise canon events dont make sense lol)

alright then theres shipping thoughts to be had >:D bc im shipping scum and this is who i am inside

theres the obvious og!moshang and im definitely here for that, but my airplane x mobei jun obsession is currently consuming me from the inside out sooo lolol so very likely to do some ot3 shenanigans with them at the moment if anything, which works for aus where theyre not related, but since im crawling my way down the shang sibs rabbit hole (and im just not much of an incest shipper lol), i'll table that one for now

shen jiu is worth thinking about, put my slutty canon fodder villains together and see what happens >:D

liu qingge could be hot (also ot3 with liujiu cuz my obsessesion with liujiu is only matched by my moshang obsession LOL). definitely love pairing liu qingge with morally corrupt characters who make him scream "WHY DO I LIKE YOU?!?!?"

sha huling might be kinda hot ngl, i could see them scheming together and also og!shang qinghua resenting the fuck out of luo binghe that he's got the woman of his dreams on retainer and she aint even his main squeeze

wei qingwei is a particularly tantalizing option bc if he was also in charge of the rescue party in pidw, then theres the potential for og!shang qinghua (in contrast to our lil airplane) actually feeling super relieved to see him and developing a really cute "my hero" crush on him~ this is something i will definitely percolate on. might become my fav pick tbh bc the more i think about it, the more i like it >:D

luo binghe is also potential, tho it doesnt fizzle in my brain the same way that bingplane does lol. but i could see potential there

zhuzhi-lang would be pure cracky "i like these two characters so i think they should kiss" LOL. but bear with me, the terminally loyal zhuzhi-lang paired with the terminally disloyal og!shang qinghua equates to a lot of conflict and i am HERE for that oki like the sheer incomprehension of "why the fuck would you be loyal to them at the cost of yourself?? are you stupid?" vs "how can you be such disloyal scum??? what is wrong with you?" (except politer bc zhuzhi-lang lolol) is a combination of contrasting values that i adore to see in a ship

obvs theres airplane x og!shang qinghua and again, i'm here for that, but im currently in sibling au hell so i'll table that for later, but believe me that i see it

qi qingqi, look, my only justification for this one is "it would be hot" and i stand by it LOL

No, you’re 100% right, and that’s something I debated bringing up after I posted (but elected against because I should not be the source of info on this given my lacking education). The legacy of comfort women is probably one of the most reprehensible, heartbreaking, and atrocious things in Japanese history and sexualizing that era or even just portraying it as cutesy aesthetics is just… it’s not a good look. Especially given Japan’s history of ignoring their previous crimes (& lbr any apology they’ve offered will never be enough).

Prsk has shown that they’re aware of things like this - not putting sebonzakura (& another song I believe?) on the KR server - so doing this is really disappointing. I know the excuse by fans is “well this is normal in Japan” but 1) it shouldn’t be. that shouldn’t be an excuse. She wants that praise and affection SO BAD because everyone's literally SO connection starved!!! And to make it worse, she's sent on a mission to purge all the Cakes living around the Oven the Cookies & Cakes were created in, and on it she encounters the overarching antagonists (this is so in depth but it's literally a micro-plot the lore of this game is INSANE. Sprawling fantasy, political drama, CRK is incredible) and is made aware of the fact (along with the player, whom probably is flipping their shit) that THE COOKIES WERE CREATED BY THE WITCHES SO THEY COULD *EAT THEM.* So her entire life has been shattered but also she's still under the impression that THIS IS ALL SHE HAS. From her perspective it's either this or she becomes what she thinks is a terrible horrible evil worst person on Earthbread Ever. So she goes back and she's like Reverend Mother (real name) I found out the most horrible thing. And her superior is like Ah. *I know.* And she convinces her that she's learnt some horrifying secret that nobody else can know otherwise it'll hurt them too, so SHE STAYS AND GETS WORSE. It drives me CRAZY this place is so bad. This is in motherfucking COOKIE RUN KINGDOM. This game is so dark and graphic it's unreal. Also literally everyone in the Order is a girl for some reason and it's never explained why??? Do they not recruit men??? If they're self sufficient what do they do with the men??? Do they kill them??? Do they convince them they're Actually Just Girls But Different??? Neither would surprise me at this point like actually

as far as any possible kids go idk we didn’t meet suyin till book 4 we barely saw izumi i think they just didn’t want to make the new series be a atla reunion plus lok was only meant to be one season so they were making that shit up as they went along lmao. and back in 2012-14?? they didn’t know themselves what happened to sukka lmao.

sokka and suki are definitely the type to break up bc of long distance but then find their way back to each other a few years later especially as they settle into their roles in life.

while bryke definitely neglect suki and sokka to some capacity also they do have a soft spot for suki after bringing her back. many don’t consider her to be team avatar but they’ve stated they do so idk ! she shows up a lot in the comics which have obv been created post-lok and it’s been said that they’ll utilise it’s plots and characters in shall see in future projects (crane fish town becoming republic city maybe??? where suki currently is working?? and sokka later lives!!)

i’m p sure suki will be in it at some capacity anyway and that there’ll stick with jennie as she’s one of the few asian og va’s. she’s doing a lot of work atm for avatar studios.

also random but i literally found out today that it’s not bryke-confirmed that mai and zuko end up together. it was a comment on a panel by the old comic writer. it’s not technically canon. izumi is the spit of mai anyway but hmm! interesting!!

oo big ask ok let me break this up into different paragraphs …

fist point - one thing i will admit about lok is that it fell short in incorporating the original characters into the new series in an interesting way with enough verisimilitude (realistic-ness) that it didn’t feel like they were just throwing a popular character into an episode for the sake of it. such as the whole ‘aang is a bad dad’ thing because they under-utilised him as a mentor figure to korra and instead focused on his supposed favourite son (i have thoughts on this re. aang NOT being a ‘Bad’ dad but i will make another post on it if u are interested (or have i alr made one? i’ll make another one.))

i have to agree that they would’ve probably done something shitty to sokka or suki if they were included. especially with the entire first season of lok being about bender/non-bender equality… i can just imagine they’d make sokka say something dumb about the equalist movement being 100% Bad instead of him actually supporting some of their completely valid arguments. idk. i’m sad there’s no sukka but at the same time…. quit while ur ahead yk.

second point - sukka long distance relationship is so real ESPECIALLY during their first few years together. i can see them just kinda calling it off because of commitment issues due to their work, etc. but not ever really losing feelings. they’d be endgame tho🥰

i can absolutely see suki being in upcoming projects! especially since she and the other kyoshi warriors expanded their reach across the nations - it would be hard to ignore them completely if we’re assuming they’re including comic canon into the universe. i hope jenny returns!!

third point - yeah! how crazy that maiko as izumi’s parents isn’t canon confirmed… though she’s so clearly mai’s daughter. i wonder if mai’s role will be expanded in upcoming projects / if she’ll be featured more. hmmm.

fourth - would honestly prefer this to the theory sokka is her father lol. it kinda baffles me that TOPH became a cop.. not bc she opposes authority - there’s something different about enforcing it than there is having to follow it. i can see toph in authoritative positions, and she fits them well. but i think it baffles me moreso because why would toph even work as a COP? isn’t that boring as hell for her?? go do something awesome like probending or professional underground fighting (adult blind bandit anyone?? this would make a good fic) or literally just construction idk i feel like toph isn’t a Hard Worker type that would want to be stuck in such a rigid career.

i lost count but he's died and come back at least 4 times. mf won't stay dead (affectionate) but he's also so damn smug everytime like he didn't just give all his friends lasting trauma for the 3rd time that week

He is like, the perfect person for this tournament. He dies, and dies, and dies like every 5 seconds. And the majority of them are emotional. I think. Like, we know he's not actually dead but his friends don't (in most of them).

So here's some of my hightlights (Contains spoilers):

-His first death was by being incinerated by a dragon's breath (not really interesting, but it's his first death).

-There was an scenario(missions? kinda?) where they had to kill the strongest in the dome and nobody knew who it was so there were two really strong guys having a duel and while everyone else was busy watching it he killed himself behind a building and just waited for everyone to notice (he was the strongest in there).

    +People called him ugly at his funeral

-Idk if it counts as a death but he sacrificed himself and got expelled from the system and I don't remember if his body was destroyed but I think yes. So this would normally mean you will die for real so everyone thought he was dead but he kept his soul alive by talking to himself and eating garbage and went to a doctor and leaded a coup d'etat and gave birth(? kinda?) all while pretending to be someone else.

-He was asleep while using a skill to watch his friends have a serious discussion about his kinks and dies.

this man. keeps. dying. everytime he dies it traumatises his kids and friends and then he does it again! eventually they just straight up locked him up in gay baby jail in an attempt to get him to stop dying. it didnt work. hes a disaster and i love him

That man CANNOT stop dying istg (via sacrificing his life) i don't even know how many times he's died,,, (it's the suicidal tendencies and the feeling he doesn't deserve a happy ending lbr)

he has 1)died by throwing himself at a giant dragon 2)died by throwing himself in front of his blorbo/reason for living (who has threatened to kill him multiple times) at the hand of the woman who later on become his daughter    (he came back from those 2 in a few minutes with a power that allowed him to resurrect if he saves 100 people) (he then lost this power and gained another that allowed him 7 resurrections but with a longer delay)

3)died by asking his internet bully/best friend to kill him to save the city  4)there was a prophecy he was going to be killed by the person he loves most. his mum killed him knowing about his resurrection power and hoping it would complete the prophecy. it did not. (fun fact he was passed out when that happened and his previously mentioned best friend was defending him, and she allowed the shot to hit his heart to avoid it hitting his crotch #priorities)  5)sacrificed himself by turning into the villain and making all his friends kill him to stop his blorbo from doing the same. fun fact he was the one to deliver the final blow and it did satisfy the prophecy. also for reasons his resurrection power didn't work here (he still found a way to come back though! but it was much more difficult and complicated

also, it's irrelevant to all this but he literally gets adopted by hades and persephone at some point and becomes the heir to the underworld

anyway this is very long and does not include all his deaths i don't think but you get the idea! orv is very good i promise don't get fooled by my shitty description lmao

This ridiculous man has an addiction to dying istg. He makes a point of obtaining every ability he can that allows him to return from death and chooses to throw himself in harms way constantly. His companions has to sedate him just to get him to take a break because he just will not stop dying on them. Hes a hamster of a man. Hes also just so pathetically average and abnormal at the same time and its great. Throughout the whole story, people try to convince him to stop sacrificing himself for them, but he just keeps doing it because he doesnt really know how else to show how much he cares because he is incredibly emotionally stunted (its the trauma!). Orv is legitimately such a good webnovel, it changed my brain chemistry permanently. Its a really great read because it contains a little bit of everything, so you get to enjoy a bunch of different genres. Its also pretty fast paced but not rushed, so the plot is always moving forward but not feeling forced. There arent really any plotholes either, because it accomplishes what it set out to do as a story. Only issue some people have getting into it is that the first chunk of chapters are kinda slow, but it really starts to pick up after the disasters and keeps getting better from there. Also that it has 551 chapters, but these chapters are all necessary, trust me. The ending is so good. Just try to avoid spoilers some if you do check it out; they dont necessarily ruin the experience but some major plot moments are revealed. Also, I really reccommend reading the actual webnovel instead of the manhwa(which is the webtoon) because the manhwa edits a lot of things out and is much plainer than the actual story. Anyway, sorry that this turned into me telling you to read the novel instead of campaigning for kdj. But! Its what he would have wanted, seeing as he once read a webnovel as the sole reader of it for over 10 years.

Okay so. This man has died over 10 times (I'm not counting the exact number I'm sorry). He got burned to death fighting a super dangerous dragon, he died IN FRONT OF HIS FOUND FAMILY. then he pushed another member of his found family away from a fatal attack and took it on himself, causing him to get a huge hole right through his stomach and said member of his found family to go beserk over his death cause he didn't know he'd come back to life. He then asked a different member of his found family to KILL HIM. because he needed to die for everyone else to survive or whatever so he convinced her to kill him even though she didn't want to. And then HE GOT KILLED BY HIS FOUND FAMILY AGAIN. because once again he had to 'die' for everyone to survive but specifically he had to be killed by his found family, so he got stabbed through the heart by one of his found family members and then crumbled to dust in said family member's arms. He 'died' and disappeared for 3+ YEARS , and came back just as his ff were finally moving on from him. (Also he came back in a giant squid form that couldn't communicate with the FF at all and almost got killed my the ff AGAIN...) there's... A lot. More but it's been a while since I've read the novel so I don't remember every single death unfortunately but yeah 👍

i’m still read orv but as far as i’ve heard that’s his whole thing other than being gay for the protagonist of his favourite web comic who is real now

hoooo boy. i think he dies around 8 times in total? and somehow each time is worse than the last..... the first 3-4 times he has a skill that lets him regenerate, so its mostly fine (there is some good angst about his companions worrying he died for real, though, and at least one funeral scene).

then theres a prophecy about how he will be killed by "the person he loves most" and, without spoiling it too much, hes killed by the person he loves most. sword through the heart and touching last words and everything. its fucking DEVASTATING. he survives with a bunch of cheat code bullshit and then next time they see him is weeks or months later in the fucking demon realm with a body thats falling apart.

then a while later he almost dies AGAIN but when they go to save him he gets kidnapped and sent to another world and they dont see him for FOUR YEARS. hes obviously presumed dead while hes off in another worldline trying to get back

uh. there might be more than that. this novel is VERY long. anyway it gets to a point where any problem thats too big gets solved by him sacrificing himself while his companions scream and cry and beg him not to. and then he shows up later like "see! i survived :)" and they get so upset because why does he keep DOING this??? and he doesnt see the issue because he did it to save them! its a happy ending as long as no one dies (but not me though. its fine if i die as long as no one else does)

anyway, all this to say. basically his defining trait is that he dies and comes back. hes infamous for it and his companions start to hate it about him. one of them literally tries to pay a HEAVY price to ensure that he cant die anymore. hes GOTTA be on this bracket

Self-sacrifice is the only way he knows how to express love because it's the only form of love he was shown as a child. He keeps dying for his companions even while knowing that he is traumatizing them and thinking that they will hate him for it eventually (just like he hated his mom) because he thinks he deserves to be hated. The entire novel is about saving him. My god.

This man has died (and revived) about thirteen different times (I think? Very easy to lose count), and that’s only including successful attempts, he tries to sacrifice himself many more times. His companions are literally begging him to stop killing himself to save the world. They come very close to just tying him up so he can’t go running off again.

In terms of his general character he is just a guy who hyperfixates on a bad webnovel for 13 years straight, I’m talking about 3000+ chapters that he was the sole reader of because no one else made it past ch100. Then when the webnovel gets its final update the events of the novel start happening in the real world, as the only person who has read to the end he has vital information to save the world. He pisses off the protagonist within a minute of meeting and then proceeds to have a high-key homoerotic relationship with him, with both of them becoming so intertwined that neither would exist without the other and creating a timeloop that sets the entire plot into motion (I can’t go into more details without spoilers). If you’d like more details then I highly recommend the YouTube video “badly explaining all of omniscient reader in 6 minutes” by ferd because it’s hilarious and leaves out just enough context that you don’t even feel like you’re getting spoiled because it’s so batshit

Hey, I really liked your take about how Ed could have gone on a self discovery journey instead of ending up with Stede so I'm curious, how do you view Ed and Stede's relationships? TBH my interpretation is that lots of people in the fandom need to like...stop putting romantic love on this pedestal and understand that self and platonic love is equally important and media always skews our perception and the importance of romantic love in negative ways (I mean, there are literally academic articles written about stuff like this). And sure! a big part of fandom is the shipping! and a big part of the show is their eventual relationship! but idk like sure its nice to see and read but in irl I know lots of friends who fell into toxic and dangerous relationships because they were unhealthy and needed some growth and I've even lost a few friends to relationships that me, and our other friends, disapproved of. Some of those friends have even come back years later to apologize while others just unfortunately lost their entire support networks (friends, colleagues, and family) and still are in those relationships. Which like yeah in fandom i love the "us against the world" mentally but irl doesn't work that way. idk sorry for rambling, but would love to hear your thoughts.

so for those who don't know, they're talking about this post that i made. that was immediately screenshotted and taken out of context by implying that i said Ed needs to be 100% perfectly healed before going into a relationship. which is. a take. i won't go much into it, but this is a perfect opportunity for me to expand on that!

what i love in fandoms are long winded character studies. so a fic focused more on an individual person where the relationship (if there is one at all) is secondary. i've written such stories before because sometimes i like exploring an individual character and getting to know what makes them tick. what i wanted to get into with the post linked above is why do we immediately assume that a relationship between Ed and Stede is going to 'fix' them? both of them are in a period of flux within their lives. Stede has lived in a hetero marriage that was, as far as we can tell, fairly miserable and detached for both parties.

he then leaves them (lbr, abandons is a better word for it) to play pirate and put himself and others lives at risk because he does not know anything about the world he's gotten himself into

then we have Ed. a man who's reputation precedes him but who is also strangled and suffocated by this image that he's in. he's Blackbeard first and Ed second.

i can really resonate with both these characters and their struggles to understand who they are and need to be seen as who they want to be. it's a tale as old as time in terms of identity. and then when you add the complexities of a relationship into the mix of Stede realizing he's gay and Ed seeing that he doesn't need to be Blackbeard (but who is he really without Blackbeard?) it makes i all the more interesting

and then season 2 happens and packs in a whole lot of unearned character development due to budget cuts and a slashed screentime.

their relationship was never going to be perfect. no relationship is. but if that's how Ed reacted when Stede abandoned him, Ed should honestly be given the time to reflect on who he is now beyond Blackbeard. beyond being Ed&Stede, a romantic relationship. because the constant hammering home of 'it's the Ed and Stede show' reduces the complexities of these characters to a point where they no longer exist outside of each other. and i think that's really disheartening

why not give Ed a chance to discover himself? why not have him assert that he scared himself during his bender at the beginning of season 2? if he reacted that poorly to Stede's rejection, what will happen if they do break up? i think it's perfectly fine to ask and wonder if Ed should be by himself for a bit.

realizing you're not ready for a relationship can be a big moment of growth for people. knowing how to be alone, how to comfort yourself, how to be by yourself is good and healthy. and it's totally up to all of us to decide when we are ready to be in a relationship again.

i just wish this fandom didn't hit so many over the head with the assertion that Ed and Stede must be together no matter the cost. because sometimes that's not the best way forward and there's nothing wrong in taking more time to find yourself

I also think that I would have the reaction‚ "Okay but none of this is important to the games." At most it would affect the Agarthans‚ but they are so(1/2)

evil that it would feel like you're forcing sympathies when the games barely show reasons to give them. There's also the Nabateans‚ but I don't really know what could be said to expand upon them (maybe why two saints decide to live alone and in non-human form). Anyways‚ any reveals you would want to show up in the 10k lore (‚ and any that don't conflict with the setting's love for Grey tea)? (2/2)

IIRC the other timelines also have huge gaps like what you suggest, even if they don't cover 10k years lol

Well, it's no surprise I'm a sucker for WoH events, but I guess even some "-1400 Nabateans start visiting other places than the continent where Zanado is" could have been nice, or even some sort of rough draft of how events happened regarding Agarthans, we know from word of God they were salty about Sothis and her kin having power but at one time they were sharing tech at least peacefully, until the Agarthans started to nuke other lands and, in time, tried to nuke Sothis herself.

Also, maybe more intel about what Fodlan was like before Willy and Seiros created Adrestia and started the WoH.

However, I disagree, even the random "-9874 Sothis brings a lamp to the first humans she sees" is, relevant to the game because we have two factions (and a clown) drastically opposed to the idea that Sothis and humans/people could/can coexist in Fodlan. In that sense, unless they only reveal events like big eruptions or flood or whatnot, intel depicting Sothis/her kids as not tyrannical ovelords who are colonising people or whatever was being said in a certain discord is bound to cause friction with those two major factions - no one gives a fig about Agarthans bar some very devoted people, but Supreme Leader? What would happen to "You are a Nabatean you cannot rule over Humans" if the 10k years of lore reveal that humans, under Sothis' guidance, thrived and lived peacefully until Agarthan salt became too salty and was used to create missiles?

Nonetheless, I'd like to have some intel on how the "first" Nabatean-Agarthan war happened and ended, if Sothis "healing" the land meant she also re-created "humans" at the end of this conflict (like Raphael ?) or if Agarthans call beast the "humans" who sided with Nabateans in this war, and the setting of the War of Heroes, why Seiros'n'Willy took 14 years after declaring the war to fight in Gronder, why did it take so long, how that happened, how Cichol'n'co joined, if other Nabateans were part of the war effort, etc etc.

lbr i just want to know how many times Rhea had to fake her death and how many wigs she pulled off from 100 to 1180 with no one noticing that she's the same person

May 29: Fire and DDMD

Ignored the concept of going back to work tomorrow--which will be fine, it'll be fine except that if anyone brings me any nonsense I'll quit--by watching Daria, Fire! and DDMD back to back. That's just where I am in this re-watch but they're certainly distracting episodes. Drive me a little bit up the wall actually. I can't believe how much they put into not even 40 minutes' worth of runtime.

A few random thoughts:

"The place with the giant CLOG" is a really underrated iconic line.

I have rather an affection for Helen and Jake actually relaxing and having fun. Even if they relaxed so much they straight up lost one of their daughters. Details, details.

"Can I stop short of your wedding night?" is still an absolutely deranged line and I hate that we don't get a shot of Daria's face reacting to that. It just moves right on to Jane saying other things. Usually I feel like the homoeroticism is literally just me projecting but every now and then I think, mmm, no, you're totally justified in writing the things you write; you are correct.

I wonder how much Tom told Jane of what happened with him and Daria. Because Daria tells Jane "I kissed your boyfriend" but then later Jane tells Daria "five minutes later you're making out with him in his car," so clearly Tom told some kind of story. I understand why they can't waste time on a character re-telling events we as viewers already saw but I would love to be able to dissect minutely what he shared and what he didn't, and how he phrased it.

It's funny how all three of them take something totally different from the car incident. Daria assumes she's fucked up her own friendship but the quite-obviously-crumbling relationship between Jane and Tom will somehow survive. She's shocked to hear they've broken up. (This is adorable of her, as an aside.) Jane assumes that not only are they automatically broken up but that Tom will automatically start dating Daria. And Tom I think is also pretty clear on this thing with Jane being unsalvageable--he was clear on that before he came to Daria's house lbr--but he doesn't immediately assume he and Daria could date or even seem to be 100% clear on what he /wants/ from her.

Totally forgot that half the credits of DDMD are stills from the movie, though I guess that makes sense. If I'd been watching this live I'd be feral at this point. I don't even remember watching IIFY on TV but I feel like I must have... just with all the gay stuff taken out lol.

my fav flavor of inuokko is older (late 20s-30s) with a lot of regrets and bad memories but who have been together so long and know each other so well that they face all of it head on. there’s a few fics in this vein but i’ve never seen any older inok art!

anon thank you so much for putting older inuokko in my head. it unlocked a new department in my brainrot and i now have so many thoughts about them...

100% agree that older inuokko would have lots of regrets and bad memories, they've experienced all kinds of things in their 20s (and life in general) but it's mostly bad bc lbr the jujutsu world is not pretty and they did not have a kind childhood...but when they're together, it's easy to forget all the bad for just a bit.

one day i'll have a character sheet for both of them (i am very invested in this)! will just post yuta for now bc im struggling with toge haha. thoughts below on how yuta is in his 30s plus some long story rambling bc i cannot be trusted with a keyboard and brainrot...

i'd like to think that yuta grows to be a lot more confident in his skin and becomes the best at looking after his friends as compared to the past when they've had to look out for him and reassure him more. he's not shy or hesitant in his actions at this age and a lot of people around like to say he would have been a great teacher at the school.

at one point (as a 3rd year perhaps) he entertained the thought of becoming a teacher, but the moment he had imagined his students dying, it was an instant no. he knew he wouldn't be able to handle it. it's hard enough that he has nightmares of his friends dying/being hurt sometimes. there's been a lot of close calls over the years. at this point of time, he and toge are both freelance sorcerers and no longer under the school, kinda like mei mei and yuki.

will expand on this in the future but it's due to something that happened and had to do with both the inumaki clan and the higher ups that made yuta swear to never return to the school ever again. he actually had to be stopped from destroying the school after shit hit the fan and that's where he got the scars he has now from. sure he could have healed them easily, but he wanted a physical reminder (he never wants to forget what his foolishness could cost him) of sorts. it's one of the events that i would say was significant to his character development.

they move to kyoto shortly after that. i haven't fully thought out toge's story at this point of time but as yuta is maturing and growing into the person he's always wished to become, toge is crumbling. he has a lot of repressed family trauma that he's always been good at locking away in his mind, but after recent events he just broke.

and of course yuta is there for toge, especially when the latter has been his pillar of strength since they became important to each other. unlike the past, he can read when toge needs space or when he needs someone by his side. over the years he's just been able to sense what toge needs like it's something natural to him.

at toge's lowest points, he reminds him of just how loved he is everyday, as much as he can through words and actions. specifically i think yuta is really good at non-sexual intimacy (pls look at the bottom right sketch)!

one thing that has never changed about yuta tho is that he'll still panic over small things like when maki or toge fall sick. for example when he hears from panda that she's down with a cold, he takes the next bullet train back to tokyo as though she's on her deathbed lmao.

overall i think he'd be pretty stable in his 30s but also it wouldn't take much to make him spiral and lose it ^^

Okay! I am finally feeling better enough that I can be a person on here again!

So what happened was I got sick after Thanksgiving (probably because of Thanksgiving lbr) and guess what? It was covid! And it was pretty nasty but thankfully in the "fuck this cold's put me on my ass" sense, so I didn't need to go to the hospital. BUT that got compounded with some kinda bacterial infection, and I thought it was the covid just lasting for-fucking-ever, so I went to a clinic back on Monday. They put me on an antibiotics course and gave me some prescription combo decongestant/antihistamines, and I finally feel like a fucking human again.

And all of this has been going on with me still dealing with my leg, so THAT was pretty miserable and for a while the only thing I was getting up to do was go to the bathroom. It was awful. Being sick on top of it was so bad that I was seriously worried that I was a fall risk.

But things are getting better now and while my leg isn't 100% it's reached the point where I can start putting a little weight on it! And my energy's getting better to the point that I can actually Clean Some Things (mainly myself) and even do stuff like Prepare A Food.

So that's what's been going on with me. Hopefully things will be returning to what I consider normal for my household pretty soon. It's probably gonna be a somewhat bittersweet time of year in general, but at least I'm starting to put the misery of being sick and what felt like being almost immobile behind me, and that's going to make it easier.
