scattered thoughts that only a few have context for but man...’pick a star on the dark horizon and follow the light’ is such a wonderful lyric and its such an important theme in leaf’s story. in the face of overwhelming pain and hopelessness, finding something to cope, something to strive for. the dawn is coming, you just need to find it.

#it might seem...counterintuitive with how hollow knight portrays light and dark #but the fact remains that leaf has trauma regarding the dark (well. some dark places.. often cramped) as a result of what tpk did #with the abyss and all that #which is a traedy in its own right considering they're void #and in a story where the radiance is only alluded to; well. those gentle lights (stars- a warm dawn- the glow of a lantern)#are gonna be safety for them #but anyway lbr its only a metaphor in that regard anyway #yknoe wrt the lyric itself #the point being that leaf is able to find happiness for themself despite everything thats happened to theme. they all are #despite their respective trauams #its hard and they're never going to be 100% okay #but the group has each other. they want to be better and thats what matters #luke rambles #leaf #my ocs
