Some rambles about my choices v

Alan: I saw this clip somewhere and it felt SO FITTING. Even the dog motif and the song fits. Al would 100% listen to Mitski. I wanted Alan to have a warm voice because he might appear intimidating from the outside, but once you talk to him (literally), he’s a sweet guy.

Samuel: Jack Stauber is one of my favorite artists and musicians and over time he started feeling fitting for Samu‘s voice lol. His laugh is also really fun

Charly: Her voice is supposed to be kinda squeaky and a bit “rough“ (idk how to explain it), and very energetic. A bit annoying, but also endearing lmao

Nathan: Neil’s music has impacted me SO MUCH and his work has influenced my ocs too, especially Nathan. Pretty much every song from Spirit Phone is on my Nathan playlist, the vibe of that album has influenced his character so much!! His voice is usually pretty calm, but can get pretty crazy when he’s breaking down emotionally (just like Neil’s)

Robin: He’s supposed to sound kinda young and immature (since he’s barely out of his teens himself), so this type of voice felt fitting. He struggles with the fact that people infantilize him and I wanted to portray that through the voice

Eva: relistened to The Mind Electric recently and this part just hit me with how fitting that voice would be so ig that’s her voice now lol

Beatrix: She would try to appear very calm, warm and welcoming to deceive others and win them over, but also condescending if that makes sense? I haven’t watched Steven Universe but from what I’ve heard White Diamond shares a bunch of similarities with Beatrix so!!

I love Andrew Minyard as a criminal justice major. Just imagine the possibilities that could happen!! He'd 100% write a paper about nature vs nurture that is about himself and Neil (only if you read between the lines can you tell that tho)

Oh man!! An idea is coming into my head as I think about this!!

Okay, okay, so imagine the following.

Andrew is in his The Serial Killer's Psyche class when he learns about the more recent recent killers, including The Baltimore Butcher.

He lowkey becomes fascinated with the whole thing.

(It's the knives)

And goes down a rabbit hole looking into anything and everything regarding the Wesninski family.

He learns that Nathan was married and had a son, Nathaniel, with a member of another known mafia family from across the Atlantic, Mary.

The son would be the perfect killing machine for these two.

But then he learns that Mary and Nathaniel died tragically in an unknown form.

"The family wants to keep their privacy in these hard times." The press says.

Despite Andrew researching for days (he even went to the library once!) He can't find any record of how they died, but their death certificates have the same time stamp on them so at least he knows they died at the same time.

After finding out as much as he can about the family, he is (and he would never admit this to anyone at all ever) solely on the side of the cops in believing that Nathan Wesninski is The Baltimore Butcher despite there not being enough evidence, etc etc.

Having learned all he could, he all but forgets about the Wesninski family.

Fast forward to the next semester when Kevin tells him they are going to Arizona because he found them a new striker.

As Neil is trying to catch his breath from Andrew hitting him, Andrew is suddenly excepiencing a new phenomenon to him "familiarity"

For some reason, this flight risk reminds him of someone, but he can't quite remember who.

This is new.

Not remembering something.

Is his memory failing him for the first time ever?

He blames it on his meds and moves on

Everytime he sees Neil after he moves to Palmetto, he has the same feeling.

Ever. Single. Time.

It is increasingly aggravating and intirely too intresting.

After weeks spent trying to remember who Neil reminded him of, filing through every person he's ever encountered, and Neil's skitish behavior, he decided that Neil must be a threat.

Why else would his instincts tell him not to trust Neil?

Why didn't he react to the Moriyamas coming south that fall?

Why couldn't he fucking remember where he knew Neil from???

His shell cracked a little bit and he decided on impulse that Neil was going to Eden's with them

Andrew was practically vibrating with rage by the end of that night.

"Who are you?" Andrew asked.

"Wha- I don't understand? I'm Neil?"

"No. I know you, but I've never seen you before." Andrew watched as Neil tensed, wondering what was running through the runners head.

"We don't know each other." Neil made as if to walk away, but he didn't make it far before he had to grab the wall to stabilize himself.

"I know you." Andrew said, grabbing his shoulder.

"No, you don't." Neil shoved him.

"Do you work for the Moriyamas?"

"You think I'm a mole?" Neil scoffed, but it was more slurred with the drugs in his system.

"You're something. And I know how to properly dispose of a body." Andrew said lowly, threatingly, putting both hands on either side of Neil, caging him him.

"So do I." Neil's voice was steady, and he shoved Andrew back as far as he could before taking off.

Neil feeds Andrew half-truths the next day at Wymacks, saying that he must have seen him on the street somewhere. He honestly had no idea why Andrew recognized him.

Andrew doesn't believe that, but he believes Neil's half-truths about his family and lets him go.

Eventually, the familiar feeling is exchanged with actual recognition, and the books continue on as normal

UNTIL

Andrew gets out of Easthaven and sees Neil with his blue eyes and Aubrun hair and brused face, and Andrew freezes for only a moment.

But for that moment, it's like a Christmas tree lighting up in Andrew's head.

Neurons firing and connecting dots he didn't know went to together.

He goes about his decided itinerary for the day

He still doesn't know what to do until "I never understood why he liked knives."

Everyone else was thinking Riko, but Andrew was thinking Nathan.

He decides then and there that he's not going to say anything until Neil tells him.

Neil's "I'm Nathaniel" hits Andrew like a gut punch.

He already knew it but now it's confirmed.

When Neil goes missing, Andrew was the first to tell coach about Nathan's release from prison.

He persuades Coach (read: stares down repeating "Baltimore") to take them to Baltimore because that's where Neil is.

Books go on as normal

Life seemingly goes back to normal after summer break.

They start the new semester with significantly fewer worries, and Neil is figuring out his newfound freedom.

Andrew is in his Advanced Psychology class when Nathan Wesninski is brought up again.

The professor - fortunately for her sake - doesn't mention Neil or Nathaniel at all but assigned them an imaginative assignment

They are to pick a serial killer and study what is known about their at home life and write a paper about what it might be like to grow up in that kind of enviroment

Andrew was going to ignore this assignment, but Neil found out and thought the whole thing was hilarious.

Neil finds out that Andrew was entirely too fascinated by the Wesninski family.

"You liked me before you even met me."

Eventually, they decided that Andrew didn't have to write the paper.

"Mr. Minyard. It is your turn to present."

Andrew and Neil walk to the front.

"This was a single person assignment, Mr. Minyard."

"I think a first-hand account is better than anything I could have come up with. Don't you think?"

"First hand?"

"Hello Andrew's classmates. I'm Nathaniel Wesninski, but please call me Neil. Fair warning. If you ever call me Nathaniel, I will kill you."

They spend the rest of the class basically ragging on Nathan the entire time

CONTEXT- Recently I was thinking about how the plot of the original Life Is Strange would make for a PERFECT Columbo episode. Think about it, it's two rich people committing a murder, clumsily trying to cover it up and then arrogantly thinking they'll get away with it only to ultimately end up caught in their own carelessness. In this turn of events, I imagined Columbo would've already cracked the case by the time the game's story begins- so Nathan is arrested before he can even confront Chloe in the bathroom, she never gets shot, Max never gets her powers, and the storm never happens because Jefferson and the Prescotts were already brought to justice for Rachel's murder. (Columbo never dealt with the supernatural after all, and it's still an interesting murder story even without powers being part of the equation). It's still a somewhat bittersweet ending as Rachel is still dead- you can't have a Columbo story without a murder to kickstart the plot- but nobody else has to die, Max is never traumatized by her powers, and her and Chloe still reconnect their relationship without having to destroy an entire town.

My best friend wrote the dialogue for this one, and funnily enough it's based on what happened when I played the game for the first time- I immediately cottoned on to what Jefferson was saying about capturing someone in a dark corner, thinking that was weirdly specific dialogue to open out the game with unless it was foreshadowing for later. And then of course you go out into the corridor, there are all the "MISSING" posters for Rachel and you can hear students gossiping about how she was in a relationship with a teacher. By the time you see her note in the junkyard in Chapter 2 I was 100% certain it was Jefferson... apparently for a lot of people it was a real twist (my best friend thought there was absolutely nothing hinting to it beforehand)

Oh and one more thing, funnily enough there's a Columbo episode called "Double Exposure". But unlike the Life Is Strange game of the same name it's actually good, one of the best in the series. There was also an episode where he solves a murder at a local college, and the killer is a deluded rich student not unlike Nathan Prescott. So I think the lieutenant would fit perfectly into the mystery of Arcadia Bay!

Vico and Nathan, highlights #3

Q. Who would be your top 3 dinner party guests, dead or alive?

Vico said the first name that came up for them was Aubrey Plaza as they recently watched Agatha All Along. Nathan asked if she’s a celeb crush for Vico who said yes 100%, she’s so funny and witty and smart. Vico said they recently watched a movie that Aubrey wrote, produced and acted in called My Old Ass and was gushing over an emotional scene where she has just one perfect tear and Vico said they were watching it like ugh, fuck you, you are so beautiful. Nathan then had to clarify whether the name of the movie was My Old Ass or Mild Ass as he couldn’t quite tell.

Vico’s second choice was a Puerto Rican poet called Julia de Burgos who they find incredibly inspiring, and said that there was a lot of speculation that she was sapphic, although of course there’s the people going with the ‘they were roommates!’ version of events as well.

Their third choice was Janelle Monae, and Nathan said that sounded like a perfect combination, then was like, a dream blunt rotation, then claimed not to have any idea what that meant.

Nathan said going back to an answer he’d given the day before, he loved Ella Fitzgerald and is fascinated by her life, so he’d want to have dinner with her even though he thinks she’d probably find him super annoying as he’s such a huge fan.

Then he asked the audience if anyone knew who Rik Mayall was, and was surprised that loads of people cheered because he forgot for a minute that he was in the UK. Vico was like, well I have no idea who that is, and Nathan said Rik was his greatest comedy icon and inspiration, and that he grew up obsessed with The Young Ones and Bottom which he said he thinks is pretty obvious in his work. He said Rik was one of the very few celebrity deaths that he really felt properly sad about, along with Victoria Wood. So he said he’d want to invite both of them, and maybe throw Tina Fey in as well.

Vico said that was a good combo, and Nathan was like, Ella Fitzgerald would probably just be sat there thinking what is happening?? but those would be his choices.

One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson Brought a TV to Glastonbury to Watch a Soccer Match

Louis Tomlinson is the hero of Glastonbury Festival — and he wasn’t even performing

The Guardian reports that the former member of boyband One Direction, 32, left the festival early on Sunday, June 30, to go and purchase a flatscreen TV (with wheels), a generator and a WiFi dongle. Tomlinson brought the setup back to one of the campsites so festival-goers could watch England’s football match against Slovakia.

“It’s the second screen I’ve bought,” Tomlinson told The Guardian on Sunday. “The first got cracked. I wasn’t going to take credit for it because it looked like we were going to lose in normal time, but now that we’ve equalized I’m happy to.” (England took home the win against Slovakia with a nailbiting 2-1 win in extra time.)

“It was a little — well, we brought a TV in, very Glasto in some, like, stones and a little stand,” Tomlinson told BBC after the match had ended. “It was a little bit touch and go at times, ‘cause the signal kept going in and out. But, yeah. Luckily we got the win. We pulled it off. Made up, made up.”

Lottie Tomlinson, Louis’ sister, shared a video of their mission via TikTok with footage of the rocks used to secure the TV stand and the crowd gathered to watch the game.

Glastonbury officials announced in May that the England v. Slovakia match would not show anywhere at the festival, as it would conflict with performances on the main stages, such as Avril Lavigne.

However, fans like 26-year-old Nathan Davenport were grateful to find a TV to watch the match, instead of using their phones. “Our mate found this and texted us to come,” Davenport told The Guardian. “I 100% would have liked to have seen it on a big screen instead and I think the way the acts lined up, it would have been feasible. We were just walking around watching it on our phones but having this is better.”

Callum Stokes, 26, was also watching the game on Tomlinson’s TV with 15 of his friends. “We’re just watching it on our phones,” he told the outlet. “We were determined to find a way to watch it, but we’re here to enjoy the music and the festival as well.”

When he’s not taking care of football fans at Glastonbury, Tomlinson is focused on his music career. The singer recently performed at the Pinkpop Music Festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands on June 22, and is set to headline Lollapalooza in Berlin this September alongside fellow former 1-D member Niall Horan.

Tomlinson released his first-ever live album, simply titled Live, in May.

If you have related to how I have described Nathan’s struggles with his mental health and some experiences with life; emotional, physical and social etc (ignore the story/his fam background for this; I mean if you have been able to relate to his feelings/anxiety/negative physical sensations etc.)

Might be worth it to get your blood checked. 

Especially B12, Vitamin D, Iron levels and Ferritin (ferritin should be 100+).

Building on top of the character, character background, and my research into trauma / mental health etc, I have always used a lot of my personal experience when describing emotions, feelings, and how mental health issues can feel like or present. It’s my attempt to make the writing feel realistic, had I experienced the things in the story or not. Aka even if the story was high fantasy and thus not realistic, I’d source my own feelings to make it ‘real’.

So. Regardless of what's causing it in the story: If you have ever related to how Nathan FEELS or describes his experience with the world and his brain… (Anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, feeling like an outsider/in a fishbowl, easily overwhelmed or over tired; social withdrawal, social anxiety, heart palpitations, chest pains, breathlessness, dissociation, irritability, issues with cognitive function; memory, overthinking, insomnia, brain fog, panic attacks, slow recovery from physical activity, etc etc et fucking c) 

Turns out bish has been chronically deficient of many things for a very long time due to stomach issues that stopped nutrients from absorbing. Antidepressants have never successfully worked for me, and it’s now looking like that’s because my mental health stuff could've largely been a physical symptom, instead of just purely mental health?? 

I have been on a pile of supplements for a bit now and uhh… It’s like night and day? Even with the other health stuff I've been getting treated for, it's been... So much better?? Like. Life changing amount of difference?? And I’m only just starting out fixing these deficiencies, which could take a long time. But...

Holy shit, “Better” might actually be a real thing after all?? There was a reason I've been so "stuck"???

Kind of mad… And sad. Because if this is true and I keep feeling like I have been recently, it means I’ve lost a lot of time to this. I try to focus on how good I’ve been feeling though, and stay curious for this journey of what literally feels like a second chance at life.

Just… Wanted to post this in case it could help someone else. This is a highly personal experience, mental health issues absolutely exist on their own too and there's possibly often overlap as well. But stuff like this can make existing mental health conditions worse too, so either way it’s worth checking.

Hi so sorry to be posting a rant on here but I need to get this off my chest.

As it’s known I’m a huge fan of Youssef and Nathan, and I also love to read fanfics of them. I honestly don’t care how people write the characters because different people see the characters in different ways.

But recently I have been seeing this one writer on ao3 write Youssef not inaccurately but in a way that annoys me. For example their most recent fic has Youssef having internalised homophobia. Now it’s common knowledge that Youssef isn’t a 100% about his sexuality yet as he’s new to it but he’s definitely not got any homophobia towards himself or anyone else. They also wrote him as arrogant which yet again is pretty inaccurate since he definitely doesn’t think he’s more important than others (if anything I would say he’s the complete opposite).

I feel it’s important to say this:

Just because someone isn’t ready to let everyone know they’re gay doesn’t mean they have internalised homophobia, sometimes it means they want to feel more comfortable with themselves or have it just be a private thing.

Hi so, I visit new york a lot cause of family and I know a lot you can do.

If you like history 100% go to the museum of natural history, and bring your student ID for cheaper entry. Its in manhattan. There's a lot to see, it's not interactive but there's litterally so many rooms to see.

Another museum that I liked is the Immigration Museum on Ellis Island. Ellis Island is right next to the statue of liberty, you take a ferry there, and it's where everyone went to get into the country and was entered through there. It has a lot of history and is kinda depressing but if you visit the statue of liberty, visit ellis.

Bronx zoo, donations on Wednesday for cheep entry, if you like animals, and are okay with the sun it's nice, pretty big

Coney island - take the train there, and walk the board walk. There's the beach, luna park (amusement park), go on the ferris wheel, and eat at the Nathan's hot dogs. It's fun. It's hot as hell in the summer. Avoid the bathrooms like the plauge.

One world observatory - this is on the world trade center, highest point in new york, it's indoors, I was scared out if my mind but it's one hell of a view

Empire state biulding- this one you can go outdoors- go inside, buy a ticket, and go up. There's something amazing about seeing the city so high in an old biulding. Pinicale of modernist architecture. I almost flew off when I was nine cause of how windy it was.

Central Park - it was snowing last time I went to the park and it was so pretty. But yeah, no matter when, it's a nice park.

Winter time, Rockefeller center, there's a giant Christmas tree and it's so worth the view, and go ice skating, it's a blast.

42 street - manhattan. You've heard the song, you know.

34th street - manhattan. Winter only. to see the Macy's Santa windows

Dumbo - mom told me to add, I don't know what she's talking about???

5th Avenue - Brooklyn. Bunch of shops to go down and see.

Industry city - Brooklyn- this used to be a bunch of factories but one they shut down they all got abandoned. Recently they've been turned into stores and plaza and stuff and it's a blast, expecially at night.

Greenwood cemetery- my mom said to add this. Be respectful to the dead please if you visit. It's very peaceful there.

walk the bridges. There's a few. You know about the Brooklyn bridge and yeah. It's a walk but the bridge is pretty if your into exercise.

And general advice. Keep track of you phone and wallet at all times. And always be aware of your surroundings. Expecially the people. Don't go walking alone, look over your shoulder, make sure your not being followed. As much as I love new york it's a city. And citys, expecially new york with how it is right now, is dangerous. AITA for wanting my son to be able to celebrate his fifth birthday?

My (40F) son, "Nathan" recently turned five and sadly his birthday party didn't quite go according to plan. We invited his entire class, but only a few kids showed up I prepared an hour-long slideshow with photos and videos of my son's life, but the other kids were so rude and disrespectful! They kept getting up to wander around, go to the bathroom, etc. and complained that they were bored. It gets worse. Along with the invitations, I had sent out lyrics and sheet music for a song I'd written about Nathan that the guests would be expected to perform at the party. I was very clear that EVERYONE needed to rehearse this BEFORE the party! But not a single person even knew the lyrics. Then, my son was going to eat a meal of all his favorite foods while the guests watched and chanted his name. But they wouldn't chant his name and kept asking when THEY were going to get to eat (why would I spend money on food for them? It was MY SON'S birthday!) We did the whole "Happy birthday" thing with cake and candles, and the other kids kept asking for a slice of cake even though I kept explaining to them that we were saving the rest for my son to have more later. And then there was the gift opening ceremony. The guests were told to each bring a gift worth no less than $100, and the parents were told to contribute at least $200 to Nathan's college fund. But instead they got him a bunch of cheap gifts with NO college fund contributions. Nathan and I were both in tears by the end of the party. Some of the other parents have messaged me saying that my expectations for the party were incredibly unrealistic. But it's what my little boy deserves! AITA?

Been working on my new ocs !

There's Richard (Rich) Markarian who is thus far an autistic divorced librarian (maybe a retired detective? Not 100%) with rlly dry humor. He's 6'3 and can be intimidating so he uses that to mess with people sometimes, but he means well. Hes around 45, got married barely out of highschool bc of comphet, internalized homophobia, and to seem Normal in the eyes of his peers, to his best friend. Eventually they divorced bc he (gay) couldnt love her the way she wanted, though he never really vocalized that to her bc he was worried it'd just upset her more. No kids, though he took her loss rlly hard bc they'd been friends (and then married) for so long. But, according to him, since he tried for so long to be straight and it just didn't work, he's 'allowed' to try queerness now, in his own time.

And Nathan Clark, a sarcastic business major (might change also) who's gotta stay closeted to keep his parents support, both emotional and financial. He's a little bit snotty and self concerned, but he feels bad when he catches himself being that way, and tries to work on it. Twinky, but not too noticably until he ratchets it up on purpose. He's probably around 23-25 and mostly has let social standards and the urge to fit in dictate much of his life, til he went away to college and got to try things away from the judgement of his family and highschool friends. He didn't realize he was gay until recently and now he's living it up as much as he can while the going is good

Haven't decided how they met yet, but I'm working on drawing them since I have such a clear picture of them both in my head!

The orbit of Earth around the Sun is always changing. It doesn’t change significantly from year to year, but over time the gravitational tugs of the Moon and other planets cause Earth’s orbit to vary. This migration affects Earth’s climate. For example, the gradual shift of Earth’s orbit and the changing tilt of Earth’s axis leads to the Milankovitch climate cycles. So if you want to understand paleoclimate or the shift of Earth’s climate across geologic time, it helps to know what Earth’s orbit was in the distant past.Fortunately, Newtonian mechanics and the law of gravity work backward in time as well as forward. We can use Newtonian dynamics to predict eclipses and the trajectories of spacecraft to the outer solar system, but we can also use it to turn back the clock and map Earth’s orbit into the deep past. Within limits.Since there is no exact solution for the orbital motion of more than two bodies, we have to run our calculations computationally. A bit of chaos comes into the works, so any uncertainty we have in the current positions and motions of large solar system bodies decreases the accuracy of our retrodiction the further back in time we go. Fortunately with radar ranging and other measurements, our computations are so accurate we can trace Earth’s orbit back 100 million years into the past with some confidence. Kaib/PSIMost stars are too distant to have any measurable effect on Earth’s orbit. They tug upon our world no more than the distant rocks of the Oort Cloud. But now and then a star will make a close approach. Not close enough to throw our solar system into chaos, but close enough to give the solar planets a gravitational nudge. The most recent close approach was HD 7977. Right now the star is about 250 light-years away, but 2.8 million years ago it passed within 30,000 AU or half a light-year of the Sun. It may have passed as close as 4,000 AU from the Sun. At the larger distance, the gravitational effect of HD 7977 would be negligible, but at the closer end of the range, it would be significant. When you add this into the computational mix, the uncertainties of Earth’s past orbit make it difficult to be confident more than 50 million years. And that has a significant impact on paleoclimate studies.For example, about 56 million years ago Earth entered a period known as the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum, where global temperatures rose 5 – 8 °C. Orbital models point to the fact that Earth’s orbit was particularly eccentric during that time, which could be the underlying cause. But this new study raises the uncertainty of that conclusion, meaning that other factors such as geologic activity may have played a major role.It’s estimated that a star passes within 10,000 AU of the Sun every 20 million years or so. One thing I hated about Lexy’s mom (among other things) was just how little she knew about what was going on. Even when she did know about a situation, the reality was always the opposite of what she believed, and no one could convince her of this until she was presented with irrefutable evidence of the incident. An example of this is Jake and Lexy’s relationship pre-Chucky. Despite what everyone said about Lexy, Michelle was somehow under the impression that Jake was the bully. It wasn't until she (along with Logan, Bree, and Nathan) was shown the video of Lexy dressed up as Jake’s dad pretending to be electrocuted that she realized that Lexy was the attacker. While Nathan was quick to genuinely apologize to Logan and Bree, Michelle’s first instinct was to defend and even make excuses for Lexy. Though everyone else agreed that there was no excuse or way to defend dressing up as someone’s recently deceased family member and kind of just ignored her justifications

Vinsmoke Sanji: alright okay I’m a fake fan because I’ve only seen the live action but sweet Christ I want this white man. From the moment this absolute womanizing jackass graced my screen I have been in love with him. He makes me giggle and kick my feet like a middle schooler at a sleepover. He truly is Blorbo From My Shows in the best possible way. 10/10 I think this man is so hot.

John Sheppard: I started watching Atlantis recently and I kind of thought I was gonna hate it because no Daniel and Daniel had been my primary brain rot since I was 9 but John won me over. I love his sense of humour and his relationship with McKay (aaaaaaa Canada Mentioned!!!!) but I also find his insubordination extremely hot like yes babe!!! Disregard your orders to commit intergalactic war crimes!!!! Also I love that we get Sheppard Scruff a lot because believe me that instantly casts a hex on me to lose all thoughts!!!! First of all, I’ve only seen the show through tiktok highlights. Second bbg this man is a cop what’s wrong with you???
