The last day of the holiday has arrived already!

Louie is really pleased that Joanna is embracing Takemizu culture as much as they are.

And the food too!

They're spending the day at Takemizu Pagoda, and get there just in time to enjoy lunch at one of the food stalls - the chirashi is delicious!

As evening falls, Joanna books them on a walking tour of the night market.

All aboard!

A visit to the very curious souvenir shop is a must.

Well, that looks like it was an unforgettable experience!

Topped off with a spot of slow dancing to the shop's jukebox.

And picking up something to take home and remember the evening by!

They've worked up an appetite again - and on the menu this time are some new delicacies, from a street vendor.

Joanna is still very glad that there was no need to make speeches at their wedding - this trip has been the perfect escape for them both.

As the night draws to a close, locals and other visitors alike are also enjoying the ambience of the Pagoda.

The next morning, there's some time to join a game of mah-jongg in the hotel lounge...

...before the taxi arrives to take them back to the airport, back to Merybury, and back to real life.

It's Louie and Joanna's first full day in Takemizu, and what better way to start the day than with a refreshing pot of tea?

And a conversation about career ambitions. Oh well!

There's just time for an acupressure massage - to rid the shoulders of those final knots - at the massage salon with a view...

...before heading out from the hotel to see what Takemizu has to offer. First stop is the historic Red Pagoda.

Winter comes a little later in Takemizu, and while it's definitely on the way, there's still some autumn colour in the trees, and late butterflies on the wing.

Joanna hates being the centre of attention, and while of course she and Louie wanted a wedding to remember, when the time was right, a big party was not an option.

This holiday seems the perfect opportunity, to get married in a special setting, but without all the fuss!

Before getting to know Joanna, Louie could never have seen this day coming - to think that they would ever get married! But, what hides behind Joanna's reserved demeanour - the fascinating twists and turns of her curious mind - has somehow captivated them nonetheless.

Some of the locals graciously take a moment to congratulate the newlyweds.

One of the impromptu wedding guests was particularly mysterious. He was there one moment...

Sorry, got distracted... But I'm finally back with my Pixel Pals!

It might be a brisk winter's day in Merybury...

...but it's always the perfect time to visit Takemizu!

Joanna and Louie have splashed out on their long-awaited trip, and are staying in a top-class (and very pricey) hotel, The Flaming Dragon. (This is @plumbtales's beautiful makeover of the Maxis lot, with some adjustments of my own.)

Just a few formalities to complete...

...before the pair can finally start to unwind.

For Joanna, this trip is all about sharing new cultural experiences with her fiancé.

For Louie too, it's about spending quality time together of course, but as a dedicated gastronomist, they also can't wait to sample everything that the exquisite local cuisine has to offer, and to pick up some inspiration to take back home. (Maybe that's why they're still in their chef whites?)

Family man Christopher's concern extends just as much to his pets Pixie...

...and Weeble,...

...as to his grandchildren. He and Giles in particular have bonded over a shared love of music, and Christopher is more than happy to pass on his extensive knowledge of the topic.

He and Marianne are united in their determination to keep up their fitness levels, even in their elder years.

I think they need to be more conscious of not overdoing it though!

Youngest daughter Joanna is still at home with them, and has other plans for this hot, summer's afternoon.

Although in the past she and Hester were an item for a while, Louie seems to have finally captured her heart like no other.

She wastes no time in making her long-term intentions clear.

But Louie is left cold by the proposition of a more fixed commitment. What is it with everyone wanting to tie them down, just when life is beginning to open up for them?!

Joanna has little option but to divert her energies into her own career, with positive results!

As autumn draws in, it's time to say goodbye to Merybury's most preposterous pooch. For now, she's laid to rest in the peaceful back garden.

The Brandons can't bear to be without a dog for long though, and new friend Abbey is soon welcomed to the family!

She's friendly and affectionate...

...if a little high-spirited.

But they're all sure she will fit in just fine, with a little patience, and firm but kind training.

The Kellynch Hall Yearbook: Volume XVII

As the Kellynch students approach the end of their academic experience, it looks like Keziah has finally chosen from amongst her trio of suitors...

...and it's William who has captured her heart!

Pragmatic Nathan moves on pretty quickly, once he starts to see cheerleader Lillian Bryant as more than just a frequent annoyance.

But Marmaduke is still pining for her.

And while Louie might be entirely in favour of other Sims settling down - if that's what they want to do - they're still far from ready for that kind of commitment themselves!

Although quite how they can continue to resist the adorable Sally, I do not know.

Marmaduke also will not let go, and Keziah is caught off guard by his untimely display of continued devotion.

William certainly doesn't want to break up with her, but the incident has left him unsure of Keziah's commitment to their relationship. He proposes that they don't make any firm plans for their future at present, and instead see how things go after they graduate. Poor Keziah - she can hardly help it if someone decides to spontaneously serenade her! - but she doesn't want to lose William altogether, so she sadly agrees to put any wedding plans on hold for now.

Bother, another post that is out of sync! This update is going back in time, to before the latest contingent headed off to uni, but the screenshots got buried in my folder. 😣

Mozzarella has lost his (accidental) blue rinse.

Despite an unpromising start, Erasmus and Louisa have become the best of friends, and they're really pleased that they will soon be moving into the same hall of residence at uni.

He somehow always feels more comfortable outside at night, under his beloved stars, even in the rain.

Ambitious Catherine is still proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the field of medicine. But she's on another mission too...

...to instil some discipline into the wayward household felines.

Mozzarella is utterly disdainful that Meg would stoop to even considering coming when called.

Catherine's training regime is clearly not working - not with Doofus Dolly anyway.

The cats have their own ideas of how to spend their time...

I think Sally has good reason to fear that Louie could be losing interest in their relationship - they're out on a date with...

Joanna. The pair met at a recent party, and Louie (with their penchant for brunettes) was quick to snatch the opportunity to get to know the quiet but intriguing Joanna better.

Despite her usual reserve, Joanna is utterly charmed by the smooth-talking Louie.

It's an unseasonably mild night, so the pair opt for an intimate dinner at an outside table.

My favourite restaurant host - Susie Willis - is of course in attendance.

It was a lovely evening, and the next day Louie can't help preening a little, while Sally can only be left wondering what has put them in such a good mood. William is just completely Zenned out on the cafeteria floor, with his morning coffee.

Party time again.

Interspersed with some inevitable class attendance.

As everyone approaches the end of their second year at DBU, it comes as no surprise when Erasmus offers Edward his heart, forever (or at least until he dies, and his atoms return to the universe), and a very shiny ring - and that Edward doesn't hesitate to say yes!

Nothing says that you've finally made the break from your parental home like holding your own raucous house party - complete with arguments over fish.

Keziah's preferred beverage for the morning after the night before is a strong coffee.

Sally on the other hand goes for a bit of 'hair of the dog'.

Louie and Edward just have the munchies. Is Louie judging him for his table manners, just a bit?

We learn that William has no discernible musical talent.

Marmaduke is still wondering why the ladies haven't fallen for his obvious and multiple charms.

Sally and William indulge in a bit of Watcher worship. And who can blame them - I'm just so good to my Sims!

Of all the Kellynch students though, Keziah and Nathan are probably having the most memorable year.

And she has so much to tell her diary about her experience so far of being a young adult! (Has anyone else noticed that all Sims are left-handed?)

Is William just feeling a little left out of the lovefest, however?

We arrive just in time to join a meeting of the Kellynch Hall Hang-out Club - with Hester as a guest member - where everyone is nicely building their Charisma.

Outside, Joanna has dropped by, to leave a token of appreciation for her recent date with Louie.

Well, she is only a recent graduate herself, with not a lot of cash to spare I suppose!

Keziah and Marmaduke have finally stopped playing hard to get with each other.

James and Martha from Mansfield House have come over too, just to get engaged to each other it seems! This is the second time in four years that James has been affianced. Let's see if he can keep it in his pants this time...

It looks like Martha at least is intending to remain faithful - she lets a disappointed William know that any possible romance between them is now off-limits.

Meanwhile, there are fireworks for Keziah and Marmaduke.

The Bertram Family Album: Volume XV

It's a big day. With the uncertainty about their future now behind them, Keziah is moving in with William and his family, back in Merybury.

She's getting to know her parents-in-law.

And settling in.

Before winter sets in, there's just time to host the long-awaited wedding.

Those are not the wedding outfits I chose for them, and why Keziah's brother Robert is wearing that random suit - instead of his own - I do not know.

Some of the other guests seem to have neglected their finery altogether. Humph!

Never mind - it's still a lavish party, going on late into the night, once the bride and groom have changed their outfits.

Keziah's cousin Joanna is very happy for her, and can't help wondering when it might be her turn. Her fiancé Louie is pointedly looking the other way...

Keziah extols her new husband's extensive virtues to her cousin Beth.

The happy couple eventually sneak away from the crowd for a little private party of their own.

That's almost certainly some sort of record.
