"have we not had a good time together" shes pointing yaz to the rule that yaz very well knows is there: we can travel if you dont ask me any difficult questions. yaz knows this is the rule - "because you ask too many questions", "this team structure isnt flat" - but she also was the one to invite the doctor into her home so im pretty sure she also knows shes not gonna kicked out that easily. she has some leeway. which she has been using between revolution and flux, which is why the doctor reminds her of the rules

i dont think she'd kick her out though. she wouldnt. i think it's just that the more you break the rule, the more unpleasant she becomes to be around, and eventually youre gonna walk out on your own. she doesnt want you to, she'd rather you stay and dont ask questions. but if youre gonna try to ask questions anyway, i think thats whats gonna happen

and yaz must think so too. because she does back off. because she doesnt want that to happen either. and it does anyway

#i never really thought about a person being a finite thing. you can see the effects of a person after they die. in the unfinished projects.#in the rooms of clutter. in abandoned closets. in pictures and in mermered phrases. and you can see time #chipping away at those things. eroding away the evidance that a person existed. clothes move into other people's closets. projects are boxed #away. and a person becomes confined to photos and memories. and thats existentially terrifying but its not a bad thing. time erodes away all #things. that's how life works. matter and energy transforms.#we arent made to last forever. i dunno. i guess im still just rattled from being home even tho ive been back a week and a half.#and my brain tends to fixate on the wrong things. nearly 27 years of knowing someone eclipsed by a visual sequence lasting less than a day.#bc i just cant get over how scary it would be to die like that. to start losing control of your body. to not be able to feed yourself or get #to the bathroom. to have your mind be overcome by the toxins building up in your mangled and broken body.#and it could have been worse. it could have been a lot worse. but its still not fair. theres no good way to die. i dunno. i guess i just #miss my mom in some abstract way but i find it more viscerally upsetting to think about the people that have to deal with her absence.#it makes me sad that my dad is alone now. i dunno. grief doesnt feel like i thought it would. most of the time i dont even know what im #crying about. its undirected. it doesnt feel like: i miss you. it feels like: youre gone. how can you be gone? why does everything feel the #same? and its not that it doesnt make sense. its that nothings changed. the terror of that.#and im walking around in an acumulation of my dead mother's clothes. and no one knows. theyll never know.#and there's nothing to be done about it. so it goes.#i guess im just sad. and its hard to breathe at the thought of returning to school at the end of August.#unrelated

Something something Esil, Haein and Juhee would in fact make the best group of besties ever because all they want in life is to have a normal life (Haein being away from constant work, Juhee learning to live with her trauma, Esil living for something more than what she was designed to do), unfortunately they met the most abnormal guy in the world. Esil and Haein. though they #are far more powerful than her. have a general sense of what it is like to know there sre things stronger than you that you cannot control #And Esil for the most part wants to feel connected with others outside of her own world. Her memories outside of this world are unreachable #but she still wants to surpass that. While Juhee and Haein may not understand the latter they are human in the end and thus they too would #and though they may not understand the latter. the other two do crave having closer relationships or are open to the idea.#Juhee is also not much if a high ranked hunter so as to produce a lot of mana like the other hubters around Haein. and Esil is a monster.#whenever or not she has the dame kind of mana as magic beasts is quite up to debate actually #Haein can also learn to train with esil who has more expirience about monsters. and Haein and Juhee can train at Mr Songs dojo together #Esil can show Juhee (and Haein by extension) a new perspective on magic beasts. helping her slowly adapt those fears into strengths.#solo leveling #solo leveling spoilers

My favorite thing about Imogen is that EVERYONE wants to feed her for some reason. If she’s at Lucian’s house, then he has to cook her something. Amelia literally would want to feed her. (By hand, utensils, whatever. She does the same with AJ.) Visiting her parents? Cale starts cooking. (Cale doesn’t make anything extravagant like Lucian but it’s usually something that scratches that random hyperfixation she’s having for the week) Buttered toast? Yes. Buttered noodles? Yes. Apples and honey? Yup. Dallas will usually start complaining that she needs a real meal and start cooking. If she’s hanging out with the friend group, they’re talking about going out to eat. Their favorite excuse is “Imogen is hungry so we have to get something”. (She’s the only human so they can justify it so they don’t seem like greedy lycans) Most of them can’t cook, so it’s usually them buying food for her. Indiyah can though. She’ll usually make something her mom would make growing up. She likes to have Imogen help her cook it too. Owen’s family has been looking forward to her coming to Seoul for monthssss. Owen’s grandparents sent her a homemade jar of kimchi a while ago and a kimchi jjigae recipe that she loved. They’ve got plans to make a bunch of stuff for her when they all visit in December. Dodona likes to make her stuff too. She can’t see very well, but she knows her way around the kitchen. She’s big on really herb filled soups. She’s got something for just about any ailment or Imogen’s favorite genre “just something to warm you up”. And even Lou, he likes feeding her. Usually it’s so he can practice cooking, but they spend most of their time in the kitchen just hanging out. Lou likes to experiment and Imogen is usually willing to try anything once. And she always says what he makes is good. (Even though he thinks otherwise but it strokes his ego so he likes it.)

The cute lads have wedged their way back to the forefront of my mind haha #I'm honestly really glad I kept all my Webkinz plush over time and they've survived all the moves and whatnot #Some are still missing - most notably my horses for some reason - but I have the rest onhand and they're still cute and soft and I love them #Getting the opportunity to name and play with them as a young'un made them stick quite strongly in my mind ♪#And I still find some of my design sensibilities with their roots in the gameplay/game design/UI design/interactivity #I think it inspired some of my Video Game Design brain which is an aspect of myself I'm quite happy with :D #And I /love/ plushies probably now more than ever <3 So I'm doubly glad younger me didn't get rid of them haha #Got my lineup that featured in Tala's Requestober this year ♥ I left out a couple for what are probably obvious reasons ahem ahem #If you haven't seen what the Official design of the clownfish is in Webkinz... Something kind of funny I never anticipated about crocheting with longer hair was pulling out a piece of my own hair out of my project that I somehow crocheted into it

#art #fiber art #crochet #most likely that strand fell out mid-stitch and i just... crocheted it in #love in every stitch? no. HAIR in every stitch #also i'm watching a video about knitting (war-time knitting specifically) and it's sparking memories #i forgot the sheer effort that was getting women to knit for soldiers (understandably because i wasn't alive during those wars but still)#molly was my favourite american girl book and i think that's where i first learned about that as a kid????#but those books weren't mine they were just family books and i LOVED reading fiction back then #and i really liked the historical aspect to those books in the sense that they were about girls in specific historical periods #and they incorporated actual history in it - to the full extent i'm not sure because i haven't read them in close to ten years (idk)#and it's interesting to see just how many people - not even just women! - knit for soldiers #i'm learning now from this video the sheer number of other people who started in knitting #anyway this is why i'm begging men to also do fiber arts (watching a reel of a guy crochet a blanket and HELL YEAH BROTHER)

I love that dbd lets me explore steve and nancy's characters outside the bullshit that the show is.#because the whole steve and nancy dynamic is Interesting. but the dustbags are plagued by cerebral hetrot so that story never GOES anywhere #it's just the “Waaaah love triangle OMG!!! will they? won't they?” crap. idk man. idc. why're these dumbasses breathing in Upside down air?#some people here have seen lucy before-- he is the ghostface pictured. and he's an OC. different person entirely from danny.#I won't explain his full lore here but-- he was a drag queen before the fog who started out by only killing those who he felt deserved it.#his entire persona satirises catholicism and he calls himself “the holy ghost” rather than ghostface. the entity made him an actual devil.#he's obsessed with steve because he LIVES his own role so he sees steve as his heroic opposite or some fucked up gay shit like that.#he's clutching kate's heart because if he were a real character in the game-- he'd have two moris.#one standard... and one for if a steve is present in the lobby. the second would involve him carving out the heart of a survivor as a gift.#he never harms steve though-- so it makes steve's penchant for self-sacrifice pointless.#steve instead has to do what he can to open the gates as fast as possible-- or watch everyone else die! :)#as for the toxic yuri-- it occurred to me that sadako's backstory bears some striking similarities to barb's story.#as soon as I realised this-- it was like I had suddenly gained the ability to see a new colour I could not see before.#sadako wanting to torment nancy as sick revenge for what happened to her but using barb's death as justification for this...#...nancy being unable to escape the ghost of barb... even in this hell dimension full of terrifying monsters--#it is still the memory of the girl she feels she “let” die in steve's pool that scares and hurts her the most.#not to mention that sadako's powers are reminiscent of how the upside down related fuckery appears...#the screwy technology. the telekinesis.#I just REALLY love seeing characters be forced to confront difficult parts of themselves even if that shit REALLY hurts.#dbd makes it so easy to do that to any given character. of course this goes both ways too-- it'd force lucy & sadako to change too.#which opens the door for torment on their end too because killers who disobey the entity are tortured into obeying.#a rock and a hard place on both ends. and that is Exactly how I like it. intense. complicated-- a puzzle to be solved.
