Well, I did it

Megatron - I love his tfp design. Probably one of the best iteration of Megs. He is huge, heavy armoured, his face covered with scars… He doesn’t looks like an ordinary military leader who is only capable of giving orders, but like real warrior who can destroy any enemy with his bare hands.

So, in the WOF version, he definitely shares some features with Princess Burn, not only because of his might, but also because of his horns shape and dirty-dark scales (that absorbed blood of his enemies)

Starscream - Boy, I hate him so much 🤣… but in the good way, trust me! In my opinion, when the show's creators make you feel such strong negative emotions towards a villain, it means they've done a great job. Also, I think that his animation in the show was absolutely incredible, because even though he's a 3D model, he still manages to move like a 2D character, which is amazing!

I feel that in my design he still looks more like a skywing, than an icewing (which is kinda logical)

Soundwave - This one was tricky. I couldn't figure out what his mask would look like, so I just made his face a really dark color. I think Soundwave has both gifts of the nightwings, and he’s equally great at telepathy and a future vision. So he doesn't really need equipment to predict enemy movements, which makes him an ideal communicator in the WOF setting. His Laserbeak is part of the armor enchanted by Shockwave, and it might also allow him to open portals (but I'm not sure with this one)

Shockwave - My favourite evil genius. He would definitely have animus magic and mind reading. I think Shockwave is the only one who has advanced the study of magic so far, precisely because he combined it with scientific knowledge and created safer methods of using it, that don't damage the mind. It's like if a Mastermind got animus magic in books.

I also like to think that he didn't heal the damaged part of his face just so that his enemies would fear him more)

Dreadwing - This man deserved better! It's really a shame that he was removed from the show so quickly due to financial problems. It would be great if his arc got a proper conclusion in season 3.

Considering that I didn't want to make him a hybrid, it was difficult to choose a suitable color palette. So let’s just say, that I tried my best😅

I don’t think that he would have any nightwing powers, but honestly it doesn’t even matter - this guy can make a bombs, what else does he need to be cool

Arachnid - Did anyone even doubt that she would be a hivewing? Damn, she even got her own “Othermind” virus. Her design was the easiest to work with - just a little poisonous ass (suspiciously similar to Maleficent).

Just like Starscream, I hate her, but in a good way. She's one of the creepiest characters in the entire series, who’s acting like a fucking heartless monster, especially with Arcee, but even so, there's always was something mesmerizing about her. I just really like strong female villains

Knockout - Wery bright and charismatic guy, definitely one of my fav cons!

I tried to draw him as handsome as possible. Worked a lot on the face shape and coloring, and as for me it turned out pretty nice (finally).

Most decepticons think Knockout is as stupid and lazy as all the other rainwings. And it's not like he completely disagrees with that. Of course he’s not stupid and lazy, but if it’s means less dirty work on the battlefield, well, he’ll continue act like a tipical rainwing

(I also believe that Megatron keeps him as an “art”)

Breakdown - Fun fact: "Operation Breakdown" was the very first thing I saw in this series. And it was an interesting experience for 8 year old me. Maybe that's why I'm so scared of eye gouging scenes in movies now…

I think that he didn't have any siblings initially due to his parents nature, and even after meeting Bulkhead, he felt uncomfortable among the other mudwings. And this is why he later chose the side of the decepticons. And maaaaybe because of one cute rainwing influence)

P.s.

I think that, being mostly nightwings and icewings, the decepticons are much more concerned about purity of their blood and rarely accept half-breeds into their ranks.

During the war, there were many animus dragons among decepticons, which is why they have so many artifacts that allowed teleportation and communication at a distance. But, honestly, I still can't imagine what Nemesis would look like in this AU

Megatron

-He knows. He knows how it feels to be scorned in your youth. He knows how much you hurt. He also knows that he wouldn’t be the best at comforting you, so he provides a distraction. -Every time you come to him an anxious, frustrated mess because of them, he takes you to stargaze or to read or just sit on the top of the ship in peace. -Megatron entertains you will tales of when he was younger, fighting for the freedoms he still believes in. You know he’s been hurt too and there’s a comfort in knowing you both still are yet to move on from that past, and that’s okay. You’ll confront it when you are stronger.

Starscream

-He’s not…the best at comforting people. But he is angry. So angry. Why would anyone hurt you? Especially when you were so small? He’s felt small every day of his life, he can’t imagine what sort of monster does that to a sparkling.

-Honestly, he turns into an outlet for your rage. Want to scratch something up? He finds things for you to break, things for you to throw. It's not the most healthy, but when has anything he ever done been?

-When all your anger has been exhausted, he just sits with you. That helps more, and he knows that, but he won't say anything. And that's okay.

Knockout

-Out of all the cons I think he would be the most helpful. He pampers you, taking you on long drives and god-awful drive-in movies to distract you. He's also willing to just listen to you vent to him while he's working in the medbay.

-If the harmful person comes back, you can bet he's got his saw blade out and will not hesitate to bring them down. He provides you with a free escape ride if you are ever in an uncomfortable situation.

-He is always, always ready to shower you with compliments, especially when he picks up that you've had a bad day. And if you don't feel like telling him what's going on, he will distract you with the randomest stories about himself. It always makes you laugh.

Breakdown

-You better believe that this guy's got hugs for days for you. After many, many, many threats to whomever is hurting you, he sits with you and listens to you vent.

-His attempts at reassuring comments aren't the best, but he tries. He'd much rather go pound the jerk to dust, though.

-He somehow smuggles a shitload of chocolate and ice cream up to the Nemesis for you. Most of the ice cream melts before you can eat it, but it is still delicious.

Arachnid

-The person who is hurting you is never seen or heard from again :)

-You don't mention it and neither does she.

Soundwave

-You better believe that you will never go anywhere near your abuser again. He keeps tabs on them, removing you from anywhere within a 5-mile radius of them. If you do happen to meet them, he is sending Laserbeak and they have roasted limbs from lasers.

-Records everything you say they did and privately keeps it just in case. Not to blackmail them or to send them to the police, of course.

-Lets you play with Laserbeak and pulls up comforting and funny videos to watch with you. He is as silent as ever, but that doesn't change the fact that he cares about you.

Dreadwing

-He pretty much becomes your personal bodyguard. It's a little strange at first, but you get used to his presence and sweet insistence in accompanying you everywhere, especially if you encounter your abuser.

-You can bet that if anything ever happens again with that person, they will go down in a firey explosion orchestrated by his own hand.

-Sucks at speaking to you (about anything, really. he's so stiff.), but when he cleans his weapons, he is happy to listen to you.

Shockwave

-Ah yes, Mr. no emotions. He tries...I think. He'd rather give you some weapon of mass destruction than listen to you detail all of your abuse. I mean, it's a solution, I guess.

-He makes you watch the seekers to learn self-defense and also read some Cybertronian literature on battle tactics.

-At least you can punch now and use poisons?

Predaking

-After learning what had happened to you, he refuses to let you leave his side for weeks. He cares for you and distracts you by terrorizing Starscream on the ship.

-Eventually, though, he accompanies you to meet with the abuser. You talk with them for a bit before he comes crashing down in his dragon form, scaring them into oblivion.

-It felt really good.

Bumblebee

Bumblebee tries to hide how terrified he is.

He has most of his team fooled, but even they know that he has some fear over this Con.

Everyone does.

As far as Bumblebee knows, he was the only Autobot in history to have landed one shot on this Con. Bad thing being that now they have a special vendetta against him.

Firmly believes that they are some supernatural being of vengeance and death.

It is the only explanation that he can think of.

His team knows that the con has some sort of vendetta against him and actively helps him out of situations fast.

He is extremely thankful for their actions.

Sometimes when things get too quiet, he sometimes thinks he can hear the whistling through the walls.

Bumblebee walking through the empty base.

The eerie sound of The Whistle sound through the halls.

Bee just stays in his place in absolute terror as the lights flicker a bit.

The lights turn back to their normal state and The Whistle disappears.

Bee slowly walks back to the main room with shaky blaster at the ready.

Bulkhead

Bulkhead has an intense fear of the Con.

It rivals his fear of Scraplets.

He has completely frozen on the battlefield when hearing The Whistle.

Bulkhead has lost so many of his friends and companions thanks to this Con.

The absolute carnage he has seen after they leave is enough to make him sick in his tanks for days.

He is trying to respond differently to the whistle instead of freezing, its kind of hard to cover for his giant frame or even attempt to move him.

Bulkhead readying his wrecking ball for the reinforcements.

The Whistle is carried through the air like an omen.

“BEEP! Boop bep— (BULKHEAD! Bulkhead where--)"--Bumblebee

Bulkhead snatching Bumblebee up and sprinting to the groundbridge with shaky servos.

Ratchet

Ratchet gets chills down his spine every time someone comms in about the Con being in the area.

He has seen this Con up close before.

Not because he had to patch them up, but because they had purposely gotten close to him.

They didn’t do anything as he froze in fear over the deceased body of a comrade. Just a simple look before walking away and disappearing into the smoke of the battle.

Ratchet absolutely loathes the sound of the whistle. It brings back too many unpleasant feelings that almost make him freeze.

He believes the Con has a soft spot for medics.

That is the only reason why he has stayed alive near them for so long.

He could only wish for that luck to be sent to his team.

Ratchet on the field helping Bumblebee to the groundbridge.

The Whistle is sharp and close.

Ratchet picks up Bumblebee and tries to trek faster to the groundbridge.

Out of the corner of his optic he spots the familiar figure emerging from the smoke. They only look at Ratchet as he throws Bumblebee in and then goes in himself.

Arachnid

Nope.

This is the one Con that Arachnid refuses to mess with.

This Con’s even more lethal than she is and 10 times more dangerous.

At this point she half believes that this isn’t a Cybertronain, but an evil primordial being.

She tries to pretend that the whistling doesn’t bother her.

It’s a lie.

But maybe… maybe this is just some big shot trying to one up her on her own game.

Two can play that game.

Arachnid walking through the forest stalking an unsuspecting Breakdown and Dreadwing.

Arachnid is about to deliver the fatal blow when something sharp cuts her webs.

It’s a very familiar looking scythe.

Too familiar…

“Insubordination and attempt to murder a fellow Decepticon? Oh that simply won’t do.”--Buddy

Arachnid looks at Buddy’s frightening red optics.

“I’ll have your helm mounted on my wall!”--Arachnid

Arachnid tries to strike at Buddy.

She fails and gets pinned to the ground by the scythe.

“Oh, dear Arachnid… this is long overdue… and I’m going to enjoy this very much.”--Buddy

A bit later Buddy emerges from the bush scaring Breakdown and Dreadwing.

“Where did you come from? Not that we aren’t--”--Breakdown

“It no longer concerns you Breakdown. The danger is gone now.”--Buddy

“Danger?”--Dreadwing

“No longer exists. Now, lets get back to the Nemesis, shall we?”--Buddy

Thinking about Altmodes.

The fact that cybertronians even have the ability to “scan” vehicles (created by other alien species) tells me that they’ve always not only been aware of other intelligent species, but also possibly interacted with them. They were designed to interact with them that way, assuming scanning was an ability Primus gave them and not an extra gadget they added into their frames afterwards (Which is also an interesting concept) But maybe that interaction only went one way.

Taking the catchphrase Robots In Disguise™️ seriously, it is easy to imagine cybertronians being a horror story for other species. Aliens that hide in plain sight, lying in wait. Indistinguishable from the very vehicles you use to travel around. Would you trust your car, be sure it wasn’t replaced? Cybertronians would be TERRIFYING if they wanted to conquer your planet from the shadows.

On another note, I like to imagine there’s More Than Meets The Eye™️ to scanning altmodes. It’s not just to hide. Take TFP for an example. Neither Airachnid nor Dreadwing/Skyquake transformed before scanning an altmode even though they were in situations where doing so would have greatly helped them. This was probably an animation thing, the people making the show not having the time and budget to design two seperate altmodes for the characters.

However, if we read into it, I think it’d make sense that the true reason they scan earth-based altmodes is that their cybertronian altmodes are not fully compatible with earth. Or at least they don’t know how compatible they would be so instead of risking they wait to scan an earth-based form. Especially when it comes to flyers. The atmosphere, the gases in it, the gravity, all work a whole lot differently on other planets. It’s more advantageous to become something that was built to maneuver on this planet, than trying your chances with your cybertronian altmode and seeing how it fares in this unfamiliar environment, while also in the middle of a battle.

The Autobots specifically mention to Wheeljack and Smokescreen that they needed an earth-based altmode for disguise purposes, so we know they could have probably transformed this entire time but simply chose not to out of convenience.

They would probably not be able to go back to their earth-based altmodes again without scanning if they reverted to their cybertronian ones, which is why they don’t when they go to Cybertron. I also imagine the process of un-scanning an altmode (dunno what else to call that) would take a while, so if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

In episode where Arcee and Jack go to Cybertron, she’s gonna come back in a few hours so why would she go through the trouble? In the movie, they don’t really have a reason/motivation to do so. The Autobots probably want a reminder of Earth, Decepticons like Shockwave and Megatron already have cybertronian altmodes. I don’t think we see Knockout transform but he’s always been very vocal about how pretty he is as a car so he probably kept his altmode as well.

That leaves only Starscream to be explained, and my personal headcanon is that he secretly grew to like human-made aircraft. Although it would’ve been cool to see him as a cybertronian jet in the movie, the movie scriptwriters didn’t really care about Starscream anyway.

In my AU the earthplane enjoyment is in part due to him bonding with Nicole and pitying all the trouble humans have to go through to achieve what comes to him naturally.

To keep this short, this trailer was very welcomed, It gave us a little bit more insight into the plot, showed us legacy characters who look like they'll be big players in the narrative, and gave us a lot more insight into the emotional hook of this story, which is the gayass falling out of Orion and D-16.

All in all, I absolutely loathed this trailer because it didn't have any Constructicons in it./s

See I thought I was done with these two and went nah I’mma make some more headsketches because they are fun and wouldn’t leave my brain so now I’m satisfied. One day I may or may not do full bodies but for now give them a breath. I had a lot of fun with them and omg OP is hard to draw. Megs I got into a better flow with but OP was really giving me a hard time. 

Anyways Megs and OP are the only dragons in this AU thought train of mine. The others I may or may not get to. I know dragonformers/beastformers are a thing and such and over the years but here’s a list of the characters I just personally think/agree/discussed with others on:

Arcee: Horse, dunno what breed, but she just has that vibe and I think someone did a iteration of her as one. Plus just Jack and her being a pretty solid duo as this pair. Him being a squire or something in training.  Bulkhead: Hippopotamus because of the size and jaw structure. Friend and I talked about this and it just fits as a solid choice. Also the thought of Miko riding on a hippo is terrifying.  Bumblebee: I thought of a lion or mountain lion instead of a cheetah because Cheetor is already a thing. But he’d be some kind of cat. Also a sweet cuddly one.  Ratchet: I STRUGGLED on him. I really don’t know if I’m fully satisfied but I thought some kind of St. Bernard because of just the whole rescue and search vibe?? Dunno if I’m happy with that. Smokescreen: A wolf.  Cliffjumper: Bull, also he’d be alive and not friggin dead. Wheeljack: I have no friggin clue.  Starscream and the Seekers: Wyvern either with/out feathers. I have to ask, in TFP Monarch AU, What did Megatron think when he found out that Bee is the son of his creation? Also, What did Megatron say to the other cons when he learned of such revelation? And What was the reaction of the rest of the Decepticons when they found out that Bumblebee is the grandson of their leader? What they think about Bee now?, How they treated now? (Especially: Soundwave, Shockwave, Starscream, BreakDown, Knockout, Dreadwing and the spider 🕷️)

-Megatron has not seen his child in... well, what feel like forever. Not a word, no sighting. There were times where he feared them dead though he always convinced himself that his own child could survive any encounter and scenario thrown at them. He had trained them himself after all. Yes, Megatron was admittedly furious with the fact that they had abandoned him but he couldn't deny that he missed them. And one day, he knew for sure that they would regret what they had done and come crawling back.

And suddenly, here comes Bumblebee. Someone who he's faced in battle plenty of times. Someone who he silenced forever. Someone who serves his arch enemy. And the entire time, he knew the truth about Monarch? Knew who Megatron was? That is betrayal of the highest order. And Megatron loathes traitors. But, Monarch wouldn't be happy to find out that he had killed his own grandson, so Megatron will refrain from enacting the punishment Bumblebee so deserves. In the meantime, his useless grandson can act as bait. Because if there's one thing Megatron knows about Monarch, it's that they've got a soft spark that won't allow them to stay away when it becomes known that Bumblebee is being kept captive.

Megatron tells his decepticons this. There's no need to hide it. The only shame he feels is that his own code could produce an autobot but he makes it clear that he won't go easy on him just because of it. This is an autobot and he will be treated as such. That means a cold, damp cell and the minimal amount of energon required to stay functional. Bumblebee should count himself lucky that Megatron doesn't send him to the torture chambers as well.

-Starscream is caught off guard. He knew about Monarch, he wouldn't be able to call himself the Second In Command if he didn't, but he had always assumed them to be long dead. That was good, because if they ever were to return, they would have claim to the decepticon throne. Sure, Megatron might imprison them for a while for the offense of 'abandoning' him but Starscream was sure that he would eventually have forgiven them. But again, he had assumed Monarch dead, and therefore not a threat. Then Megatron has to break the news that not only are they alive, but Bumblebee is his grandson! So now there's not just one threat to the throne, but two!

Now, Starscream never liked Bumblebee. Too much of a goody two-shoes. But now he straight up hates him, solely because he's related to Megatron. If there's something the universe doesn't need it's more of his blasted code running around. Starscream knows that Bumblebee would never willingly take the decepticon throne, or become a decepticon for that matter, but the principle stands!

-Unlike most other decepticons, Soundwave personally knew Monarch. He personally watched them grow from a small bitlet into a young, capable adult. Even when they left, he couldn't bring himself to hate them. They were like his own child, his own metal and code. So when Soundwave is told that Bumblebee is Monarch's sparkling? He can't help it, his spark instantly softens. While Megatron might treat Bumblebee with contempt, Soundwave allows himself to be kinder. Softer. Not enough to attract the attention of Megatron but just enough to make Bumblebee's imprisonment more bearable.

After the revelation, now when Soundwave thinks back upon everything he knows about Bumblebee and compares it to Monarch. He can see the similarities, not just to Monarch but to Megatron as well. Stubborn, brave, with a sense of justice. There's a part of Soundwave that regrets the fact that he's been fighting Monarch's son this entire time but another part of him is proud of how strong he's proven himself to be. While the likelyhood of Bumblebee joining the decepticons is low but they just have to win the war while in his good graces and then maybe one day they will one day have a good familial relationship.

-When Megatron had called upon all commanding officers currently stationed on Earth, Knockout had expected a great many things. When he had seen Bumblebee, kneeling and restrained in front Megatron, he expected a public execution. But the autobot, his grandson? Now that's interesting. Knockout had heard about Monarch, it was hot gossip among all decepticon ranks. Megatron's runaway creation. And now his grandson is an autobot? How scandalous.

Knockout is mostly just amused with the entire situation. He feels secure where he's standing. He's never really antagonized Bumblebee so Monarch probably won't go after him if they were to ever show up and he's too valuable to the decepticon cause for Megatron to get rid of him just because of some comments and jokes. And this is the most interesting thing he's seen in millennia so Knockout is going to make the most of it. Non-stop gossip from this guy, will even gossip with autobots.

-Is Breakdown shocked? Well, duh! He's been clobbering on Bumblebee for millions of years! And now you tell him he's Megatron's grandson? He's not sure what this means for him but it can't be anything good. Oh, and if Monarch learns about it? Then Breakdown can count his days because if they are anything like their Creator, they are one vengeful bot. Whenever Knockout starts gossiping, Breakdown just groans and buries his head in his servos. Knockout finds it funny each and every time.

In all honesty, Breakdown feels bad for Bumblebee. I mean, imagine your enemy leader also being your grandpa? That's really messed up. If Breakdown were in his position, well, he's not even sure what he would do, it's such an outlandish concept to him. He's sympathetic to Bumblebee and treats him fairly well, only partially because he's related to Megatron. Ask Bee a bit about Monarch, mostly just to make sure that the bot won't beat him up too badly when they come to break out their creation.

-Shockwave did not expect this. Truthfully, he haven't thought about Monarch in millions of years, not even considered the fact that they might have decided to have offspring. A mistake on his part. Obviously this will have repercussions on the decepticons, now with the original heir being revealed as still alive and an additional heir now available. But more than that, an autobot heir that could affect the moral of their troops. This is not optimal.

Truthfully, Shockwave couldn't care less about Bumblebee as an individual, only as an unexpected outlier in his careful planning. Same thing with Monarch. He does not care about any of them, only what trouble they might bring. How does this change Megatron's emotional state? His state of mind? Shockwave dislikes how much these revelation changes his carefully laid plans.

-Honestly? Dreadwing is kinda happy. He never had the honor of meeting Monarch but from what he's heard, they were a honorable person, headstrong. And from what he's seen from Bumblebee, he is very much the same. They may be on different sides but Dreadwing can still respect him as a fellow warrior. And the fact that he's now revealed as a decepticon heir? What is there not to be happy about? Yes, Bumblebee might be an autobot but to Dreadwing, that means little.

While in captivity, Dreadwing treats Bumblebee with respect. He commends his abilities and feats in battle. Whenever Megatron is not looking, he brings him extra fuel. While he does not like gossip, he will listen to Knockout and talk to him about it, though he will shut down any attempts on speculation regarding Bumblebee's state as heir or Megatron's relationship with him. That's too personal to be talked about in such a manner.

-Airachnid is positively delighted by the news, simply because of the chaos and uncertainty it brews within the ranks. She realizes that this is a very volatile time and that it can provide her ample opportunity to climb in rank and gain more power/influence. She knows that Bumblebee will never like her and that Monarch will probably never ally with her but that does not mean that she can't cement her future in the decepticon army.

Airachnid enjoys taunting Bumblebee, standing just outside his cell and spouting venomous words that poison his mind, fill him with self doubt and anger. She whispers seeds of discord into the ears of vehicons, make them doubt Megatron and his judgement. She hopes to turn them against Bumblebee and Monarch, make them do the dirty job and get rid of them for her.

Sorry for not answering these btw! Life has been kicking me into the dirt! So glad I got to see this I think this is a very interesting dynamic to build off of. This could make sooo many aus!!

Hcs:

I think Dreadwing couldn’t believe he fell in love with someone so reckless. He was charmed by Smokescreens balance of fun and loyalty

Smokescreen took it slow in the relationship as Dreadwing was not comfortable with touch. So hand taps, hand holds, arm intertwines, then hugs then finally a kiss. Dreadwing slowly opened up

Smokescreen loves talking and Dreadwing slowly learns based off Smokescreen’s chatter

Optimus was so happy for them that he cried

Dreadwing is a lot more calm and smiles more now that he’s in a relationship with Smokescreen. He’s visibly healing

Smokescreen holds Dreadwing when he vents or cries

Dreadwing learned to dance to impress Smokescreen. He’s very elegant

Predaking - Oh, my fiery boy! I have so much to say about him…

He was probably the main reason I got into the Transformers fandom when I was a kid. My thoughts were like: It's a dragon! And a robot at the same time!? And he turns into a hot looking man!?! *mind blown*

Of course, over time I realized that behind the beautiful cover, he was a rather naive and very foolish character with a storyline too much like Dreadwing's. But despite all this, I still love him. Predaking is a real gem of the third season, and perhaps the coolest character in the entire series, and you can’t deny it!

In the WOF version, he is a resurrected dragon from the extinct skywing tribe. Being the largest dragons in this AU, their tribe was the most powerful on the continent until it completely died out due to a wave of cataclysms.

So, Predaking is a real giant compared to other characters. And, in the final addition, he is firescales! Because it’s BADASS!🔥

(and actually, because he gives me pretty strong Peril vibes)

Unfortunately I couldn't give him a bright color, so his firescales nature is shown through glowing areas on his body, creating the effect that he is literally burning from the inside. I also just noticed that his face looks very much like a skull, and I tried to pay attention to this in the design by giving him dark spots around the eye sockets and nostrils

Hardshell - I don’t wanna draw some random insecticon, so I chose this guy. Here I will be short. He’s appears in only two episodes and died almost immediately. He’s more of a plot tool than a real character

His stripes look cool, but drawing them wasn’t easy at all (I hate floating shapes). I wanted to make him look more like his beetle form, adding a big front horn and green plates on his neck. I also think that insecticons should be more different in coloring in this version

Skyquake - Same story - appeared in one episode - died in the same episode. Most of the fandom remembers him only as a zombie from the shadow dimension, and it's kind of sad. I believe he had potential. I always imagined Skyquake as the "brawn" in a duet with his brother, while Dreadwing was more of the "brain". And it would be great if we were shown this contrast, giving Skyquake a chance to prove himself in at least a couple of episodes

His design is, as expected, almost the same as his brother, but I still decided to add some small differences in details to make it more interesting

Vehicons - STEEEEEEVES!

I like these silly dudes)

I didn't want to make them actual clones or something, so here they're just regular nightwings and icewings, but they may look the same because of the iron masks that hide their faces. Like many other dragons, they are victims of a war they may not have wanted to participate in. Actually, in that case their deaths don’t seems so meaningless and even give the autobots actions a darker subtext (although I believe in the theory that they could simply pretend to be dead on the battlefield (I really want to believe in that))

I know there are still a few possible undrawn characters left, like Skylynx and Darksteel or Unicron, but that's probably enough for me. I'm happy with my closed gestalt)

These are a couple of things Buddy has done while on their visit to the TFP universe.

For example, recruitment.

Buddy, in their ever-expanding knowledge of the show, wants to try and better the lives of some of their favorite Cons.

They know traditional recruitment won’t work with them.

So, they try other creative methods.

Yelling seems to have some effect.

…whether it be the best option though…

Buddy: “JOIN THE AUTOBOTS!” Dreadwing: “HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE!?” Buddy: “JOIN THE AUTOBOTS AND BE SAVED!” Dreadwing: “WHY ARE YOU IN MY QUARTERS! THEY’RE HOOKED WITH THE LATEST SECRUITY SYSTEMS!” Buddy: “JOIN US!”

Buddy had tried using posters too.

Did it raise questions from the bots when Buddy suddenly needed so much poster paper, marker, paint and glitter.

The kids helped with the decorations too.

Knockout and Breakdown driving down the roads of Nevada at night. Breakdown suddenly stops and transforms. Knockout stops, turns back and transforms as well. Knockout: “Breakdown?” Breakdown squinting his optics: “There’s something there. Can you see it?” Knockout: “Hmm… I think I can. Is that writings?” Breakdown: “What does it say?” Knockout: “… Join the Autobot’s Breakdown. P.S. bring your husband too.” Both Cons look at each other. Breakdown: “You gotta give the Fleshy credit. They are pretty persistent.”

So far, the only real change Buddy had seen was the accidental workers revolution.

They didn’t mean to do it.

They had just been chatting with Steve and some other Vechicons when they had been captured that one time and soon, they started talking more with Buddy about workers’ rights.

Buddy looking at the list: “Any new recruits?” Steve: “We managed to get three more. Marc is one of the tougher ones to get through though.” Buddy: “As long as we are going forwards and not backwards, that’s all that matters.” Steve nods: “Right.” Buddy: “��� You know, you’d make a pretty good Bot Steve.” Steve: “Buddy we’ve talked about this.” Buddy: “Please! At least tell me you’re thinking about it.” Steve: “…Maybe I have, regardless, Vechicons first.” Buddy smiles: “As long as you’re thinking about it~.”

Steve always scoffs whenever Buddy brings up the Autobot recruitment.

But he keeps all the little posters and trinkets safely stored in on of his locked safes.

The bots are oblivious to Buddy’s secret plans.

And it will stay that way until Buddy gets their first recruit.

Transformers Prime's use of morals

One of the things I love about Transformers Prime (among many) is the way it tackles the theme of kindness and honor vs. fear and selfishness.

This version of Optimus is by far one of the nicest, kindest, most gentle takes on the character of any Transformer media, while also being strong of mind, strong of body, and strong of will.

He's the kind of guy that always keeps the focus on doing the right thing, but is also mature enough to KNOW how to do the right thing properly, without recklessly letting his emotions cause harm to others around him.

He knows the importance of being kind, but he also knows the importance of making sure the people he cares about are safe, and he's great at balancing the two sides.

And something that this show does really, really well, is showcasing why this mindset is important.

In one episode of season 1, one of the Autobots gets injected with a chemical that causes him to act recklessly and eventually starts picking a fight with Optimus, claiming that his "niceness" are causing more harm than good, and that if he was a real leader he would have ended Megatron by now.

But here's the funny thing... Starting season 2, Optimus had a bit of a character regression where he started to worry about Megatron's actions after he injured one of the human allies, Raphael.

That led to him trying more directly to actually take advantage of situations to really end Megatron... And each time he did that, it always blew up in his face.

In the season 1 finale, Optimus tries to get revenge for Raph and challenges Megatron to a showdown, which he loses, and almost causes the autobots to losing their leader.

In fact, watching the series again, you notice that Optimus never really gets that many wins against Megatron on a 1 on 1, so I really don't know what the hell he was thinking.

Not to mention, at the time they were fighting, Unicron (an even bigger evil than Megs) was waking up and causing chaos, and they needed to team up with Megatron to stop him, so even if Optimus did kill him, the Earth would have been destroyed.

In season 2, Optimus has a chance to end Megs after finding him injured from a battle with a beetle bot, but when he gets ready to do it, several enemy soldiers under Dreadwing's command show up to help him.

Optimus makes a deal with Dread to allow Megs to live and allow to take him back to the base. Dreadwing accepts and leaves with Megatron while the bots fight the rest of the soldiers.

If Optimus had killed Megatron right there, Dreadwing would have just ordered all the enemies that had their guns pointed right at the bots to shoot on sight, while he himself would shoot as well.

But, because they made the deal, the bots got time to get out of the line of fire, re-organize themselves, and be better prepared to fight. Even better with the fact Dreadwing himself was removed from the battle since he had to aid Megatron.

On top of that, this helped build up Dreadwing's character to show him that Optimus was a bot of honor while Megatron was not, a piece of character development that came back later in the series when he decided to betray the Cons and gave the Autobots a device that they needed to turn the tides of the war.

We also had an episode where the cons manage to bring their ship to life, which results in the ship turning on Megatron (which is really funny to me).

Optimus sees this as a chance to try and take down the Decepticons for good in their moment of distress, but end up almost getting defeated instead, as the ship proves to be even better prepared to deal with enemies than the cons themselves.

The season keeps showing more and more that Optimus is seriously trying to end the war as soon and as fast as he can ever since what happened to Raphael.

This all builds up to the eventual moment when the bots obtain their "I win" button, the Starsaber, a weapon that massively shifts the tide of the battle in the good guy's side.

This moment scares Megatron so much, all added to the several scenes building up to Optimus' new attitude, that it pushes the big bad to get his own "I win" sword.

The two eventually clash, and, again, because Megatron never loses in a 1 on 1 with Optimus, he beats him and destroys the Starsaber, putting the bots at an even bigger disadvantage than ever.

What I'm trying to say here is that, basically, a lot of times when the good guys start to act like bad guys, trying to take the easy way out, trying to act on revenge, trying to be more cruel... they get punished for it.

I'm mostly focusing on Optimus but this honestly goes for all the characters.

In an episode where the bots find Arachnid and Megatron, Arcee abandons the team to try get revenge on Arachnid, and nearly gets herself killed. The only reason she survived was because Starscream of all things came to save her to pay a debt.

Wheeljack on one episode tried to get revenge on a bug that harmed Bulkhead, and, again, almost got himself killed. Luckily, one of the human allies used his ship to kill the bug, but that only reinforced Megatron's growing interest on focusing on the humans to get to the Autobots, a plan that starts building up through the season once he realizes how much the humans help the bots, which results in them being used as hostages in the season finale.

Meanwhile, moments that show the bots having mercy and being kind actually pay back in positive ways.

In season 1, one of the humans has a chance to kill Megatron, but he refuses because he says Optimus wouldn't do that.

And like it was said before, allowing Megs to live came back in the season finale where he helped take down Unicron.

Transformers Prime has several small moments building up to messages of the futility of cruelty and the importance of kindness and reason... And that's impressive when this whole thing is based on the idea of robots beating up each other.

Heck in the big final battle, the Autobos' medic, the guy that is known for fixing others and not for fighting, manages to take out the Decepticon's strongest fighter, and he does that just by talking to him and making him realize he shouldn't fight for Megatron.

Or in the movie, where the big bad himself, Megatron, becomes imprisoned at the mercy of Unicron, and gets tortured so much that he decides to give up on the life of hurting others.

I love how several seeds have been planted throughout the whole show to make sure it never betrayed its themes and messages.

I'm aware that behind the scenes there were several struggles involving budget, cuts, change of plans, and so on, but I'm glad to see that in the end, the characters and story arcs stayed true to what mattered the most.

I love this show!

Decepticons First Impression of Humans: TFP

Like I promised, these are the Decepticons first impression of humans as a species. The same format will apply where I will say what the impression and why. For the sake of this post, Predaking will be included as a Decepticon even though he left. Let me know if I missed any, I will admit that I’m more of a fan of the Autobots, so I may have missed a Decepticon. I won’t include vehicons as it’s shown they have different attitudes and I can’t go though every scene to point out every vehicon.

Megatron

- He saw humans as weak annoyances

- Why I think that; He seems to be dismissive of them by how he insults Raf when he was injured by Dark Energon

Starscream

- He finds them weird and weak, though useful at times

- Why I think that; despite clearly seeing them as weak by how he taunts Miko and Agent Fowler, he is more open to the idea of working with them than Megatron

Soundwave

- He finds them interesting

- Why I think this; he did take a picture of Jack, Miko and Raf showing he finds their involvement with the Autobots important and being so scientifically minded, he likely would be curious about a species so different than he is

Shockwave

- He would also find them interesting but doesn’t see them as individuals

- Why I think this; though he doesn’t interact much with humans, but with his sientific mind, he’d likely find the organic elements of humanity interesting for his experiments

Knockout

- He actually probably finds humans interesting

- Why I think this; he was interested in taunting with June and Agent Fowler when he captured them and enjoys racing with humans

Dreadwing

- He has a lot of respect for humans

- Why I think this; his sense of honor would make him likely to respect life and he’d notice how the humans act

Skyquake

- Even if he is curious about humans, he would never admit it due to wanting to impress Megatron

- Why I think this; Due to how close he with with Dreadwing, I’m guessing they have similar views to life (Though this isn’t always the case, I’m guessing from limited information) but he would want to impress Megatron and wouldn’t say anything questioning his views

Airachnid

- She’s interested in humans as a species, but doesn’t see individual value

- Why I think this; of course the episode “Predatory” was a major source of information but also she does enjoy working with the humans when it suits her needs

Hardshell

- He likely sees humans as just another species, nothing more but nothing less

- Why I think this; we see that insecticons are looked down on by the other cybertronians so they may not have been raised looking down on another group and likely see humans as just another species

Predaking

- He likely sees humans as weak

- Why I think this; it’s clear that power is a big thing with predacons and humans do not have the physical strength that cybertronaians have
