I think this is what happened to me. The reason that Nova ended up as separate from Tess as she did is because she's what was supposed to be my self-esteem, before various ambient traumas (mostly the school system, but there were other parts) beat that out of me. The rest of Tess exists in parts to some degree, but they feel like occasionally disputing parts of a whole, while Nova is like... scar tissue over an amputation. She exists in the hollow where self-love was supposed to be.

Replying to ur post didn’t scratch my brain enough on how insanely compelling the Charles and Carlos dynamic is to me irl so here I am spamming ur inbox (apologies)

Charles’ tendency towards emotional avoidance is patently a defence mechanism against vulnerability. One thing that really compels me though is the rare moments when Charles’ defensive wall drops and you get his true emotions shining through

It’s most obvious when he’s happy with his race results (Monaco, Monza). But I’d say it’s most heartwarming when it peeks through every so often when Charles relaxes enough to half-forget the camera. I’m thinking the kiss towards Carlos in the rayban shoot. The time when they decorated Christmas cookies on the sofa in the sun. The first fiorano music challenge

In those moments Charles gets giggly and shy and has a wickedly impatient sense of humour, but above all he gets a really really fond look on his face

Which is why I’ve never understood people who say they aren’t friends and are playing it up for the cameras. All evidence points towards Charles putting up emotional walls for the camera rather than acting it up

I love the way you’ve analyzed this, and the examples you’ve chosen are spot on, because these are little things I’ve also noticed along the way but when you look at them in this context you see how much the behavior fits with their characters.

Charles is so good at putting up the nonchalant guy facade and hyping himself up. Every challenge they’ve ever done is always Charles saying he’s the best and no one can beat him and when he ends up losing he’s like oh I’m so bad at this but he laughs it off. There are so many little moments when he’s with Carlos where you can see the fond look ™ and it’s so special and heartwarming.

Carlos knows he’s good at a lot of things but you can see more clearly that he has some self doubt and that he’s still working on not being so “soft” by trying to “bite and not get bitten” but it’s so against his character to be mean he’s such a softie!! And that’s why he wishes he could care less, like what he thinks Charles can do better.

People who say they’re not friends overestimate how much these guys can act because trust me they can’t, just watch any of the scripted promo videos (shell) and you’ll see.

German Ghosts Update

The BBC has released this article about the German adaptation of Ghosts, including our first look at its cast!

According to a German article on the website of WDR, Ghosts has started filming on May 22 in the area around Cologne and will finish shooting its first 6-episode series in July.

Characters will include:

Continuing my quest of headcanoning the lotr races to be as inhuman as possible, hobbits are immune to so much shit.

They're covered in fur that keep them warm in any climate (Up on the mountain pass every other member of the fellowship would have frozen to death three times over before any of the hobbits started to feel something), but their fur also know how to air out properly, so they aren't affected by hot climates either (The heat of mount doom was a cake walk for Sam and Frodo. Everything else, not so much), and they have surprisingly thick skin that protects them against a lot of injuries, especially around their feet meaning they never get worn out. The same goes with food and drinks, it takes a lot to get a hobbit intoxicated (The alcohol concentration in their ale is insane), and no poison affects them. Like, when Shelob stabbed Frodo, man's was fucking fine. The stab was the problem, not her venom. In fact, headcanon time, Shelob's venom is an insta kill, but since Hobbits are practically immune and Orcs are resilient as heck, the most it causes is like a temporary paralysis. Poor Shelob is very confused as to why her stings ain't killing these people but just kinda knocking them out for a few hours.

In conclusion, Hobbits are the perfect specimen, made to survive in any climate and in any situation, and they could have easily taken over Middle Earth if they wanted to. They don't want to tho, so we're good

Ymir would be stunned by her beauty, but what would really sell her on Historia is the realization that she's never left the tower. The fact that this gorgeous, kind, talented girl is not allowed to live her life freely would absolutely infuriate her. She'd vow to get her outta there right then!

And considering Disney's version of Rapunzel's story where the prince is a thief… yeah, it fits pretty well with YumiHisu. I think I've seen fanart of them as Flynn and Rapunzel around. But also… with the Aladdin!Ymir headcanon in mind, I imagine a version of the story where Ymir tries to seduce Historia away from the tower by impersonating a prince and keeps failing, until the truth is revealed and Historia falls in love with her because of her heart instead of the fake riches 🥰

Lost&Found: It's a Wonderful Life!

OH.MY.GOD.

For my special program "ruining your established destiel by making it worse" I today present to you my lastest idea: you know the scene where Dean prays to God asking him "to bring him back" and how it's usually associated with "Brokeback Mountain"? Well, yes but ALSO... I think it's a reference to "It's a Wonderful Life"!

The title of the ep (and the ep itself) "Lost and Found" is a dark take on the theme of the movie itself: George Bailey is a lost man who eventually finds himself thanks to his prayer to God and the "interference" of an angel... Clarence.

In the movie George is having very very dark thoughts and prays to God asking him for help:

“Dear Father in Heaven, I’m not a praying man. But if you’re up there and you can hear me, show me the way. I’m at the end of my rope. Show me the way, God.”

In the movie, God listens to George's prayer because when the man goes to a bridge with the intent of jumping off and end his life, Clarence "the second-level angel" dives into the river prompting George to rescue him instead. George is still unhappy and wishes he had never been born so Clarence shows him a timeline where he never existed.

I don't knot about you guys but this is exactly what the AU world is about: a world without Sam and Dean.

In the movie George eventually "finds himself" and wishes to "go back" to his timeline. There's this scene right here:

"Clarence! Clarence! Help me Clarence! Get me back! Get me back, I don't care what happens to me! Get me back to my wife and kids! Help me Clarence, please. Please. I wanna live again! I wanna live again! I wanna live again. Please God, let me live again".

Don't you see? It's the same that happens in Dean's prayer to God in "Lost and Found" and in the following espiodes! Unfortunately, in "Supernatural" God doesn't listen to Dean and he will indeed try to end his life (and almost succeeds) but he'll get him back and he'll get his win!

Turns out that Iacobus is an inflexing leader carrying his love for his people with stern orders and little mercy to the Mongol Invaders.

Lara walks into the core of the city as in a trance. The old Greek that she has no business to understand perfectly and even less speak fluently comes naturally to her as she asks where are they going to an imposing soldier that seemed to be the General (and hasn't she seen him once barking orders to the thousands of soldiers as she sneaked into the Lost City ?)

Even as he regards her with disdain — is she crossing a line? Where does she stand in this hierarchy anyway? Lara's brain is still trying to process too many things — it is the Prophet's voice that answers her.

The Mongols have breached the city's first defence. They need to reorganise.

His eyes are too bright for her and Lara tucks her chin down, unable to hold the intensity of his gaze. She knows where this is going. At some point, the siege will start and then despair will creep on Kitezh until the Prophet does the unspeakable to his army.

She has seen the guilt simmering in Jacob's eyes, even thousands of years later. But this man, immortal Iacobus has not lived through this yet and as he beckons them to follow him deeper into the vast courtyard, Lara struggles to find an idea, something, anything, to keep him from using the Source on the Athanatoi.
