Kaelan Black - Reference sheet 2024

A Cyclone from a far away land, Kaelan is a hard-working man that was raised in simple livings. He stands in an uncomfortable position: far too alien to be welcomed among organic humans; far too domesticated to feel at home between other Cyclones. And yet, he seems to find friends wherever he goes.

Some trivia below the cut!

Far stronger and heavier than your average Cyclone.

Toddler-level flight skill. Constantly has broken feathers and bruises from bad landings. He's still learning!

He's nocturnal: his sight is at its sharpest at low light conditions, has long whiskers, and spends the day sleeping (which sucks for errands).

Doesn't understand modern technology. Relies a lot on his friends to browse the internet, but in general prefers analogue tools (fire stoves, hand-washing clothes, reading books and newspapers instead of browsing online).

His staff is called a taré (tar-eh). It represents his connection to the planet, and it's an important part of his culture and religion. He's also very, very good at hitting people with it.

Spent most of his life living in a farm on the mountains. He's very knowledgeable about crops, botany, and hunting.

99% watercolor with some colored pencil details that you can’t really see. Gotta get the rust out somehow.
