I really like that second one, especially the meanings ascribed to the placement of scars.

The first one I desperately want to like, because it would help SO MUCH to make the Jedi more relatable to at least part of the public at large, but I have a hard time imagining it allowing Skeevy Sheev to get away with all of his negative Jedi propaganda in the prequel era (because there would be actual living normal people who'd be like . . . Let me tell you about the group projects I did with the smol!Jedi Padawans and the BB!Jedi Initiates being prepared to be taken on as Padwans for my History of Galactic Law and my Brief History of the Core electives!!! I feel like they very easily COULD have done this before the Sith gained so much power and influence over the highest levels of Republic government that they could eventually actually manage to successfully place one of their own in the Senate (like, at minimum, maybe two-three or even four generations before Skeevy Sheev), but that somehow the Senate would've had to have interferred with this. The practice would've had to have stopped long enough ago that, by the time of TPM, vanishingly few individuals would be left who could remember (i.e., have personal living memories of the time) when this used to be a normal thing and students registered with Coruscant University, the Institute of Applied Sciences, and ALL of the myriad other colleges/universities associated with the Republic Futures Program used to be able to send students to the Coruscanti Jedi Temple to partake in regularly held courses for Padawans and the kind of upper level Initiates who've been on their Gathering and are working their ways up to being apprenticed.

Tell me one headcanon about the Jedi and one about Madalorians

Okay, so I usually just make things up as I go along...or adopt hcs I really like. But if I had to pick a headcanon of my own about the Jedi it would be maybe that the Jedi allow outside students. They have a variety of Jedi specific classes, but in a lot of cases, they have public classes regarding diplomacy or language or galactic history, and frequently civilian students will register to take those classes alongside padawans. It fosters a lot of transparency with the world outside the Temple, exposes young Jedi to outside ideas, and are generally more accessible bc while they are in demand, and limited in number, they are free.

For the Mandalorians, I have a lot because I've been spending a LOT of time there, recently. One that I'm enjoying playing with is that the Old Mandalorians engaged in ritual scarring for marriage rites/other significant life events. But that also, there was some fortune telling in naturally acquired scars. Survivors scar, so they're a mark of honour. If you get scarred on your big toe, it means you are impulsive and reckless. If you have a scar on your back it means that you should be wary of your past. If you have a scar given to you by another person by accident, it means that you are destined to fall in love with them - they've left their mark on you.

Of course, Obi-Wan dropped Satine off a cliff, and the incident left a scar just above her knee. But he doesn't need to know any of that.

Iwtv is the most popular show on amc, as they say every single time I open the app. The problem is that amc is a late game streaming service with almost nothing enticing on it. The only reason my dad is considering getting it after I stop my very brief subscription is to watch Mad Men.

I pirated season 1 and now I have the dvd so they don't have my statistics when I rewatch. I plan to get the dvd for this season too but if the show is unpopular it is mostly because it is on one of those streaming services where things go to die. They made a good decision by allowing season 1 to be available on HBO and you can watch ep1 for free on prime but HBO is also one of the most expensive streaming services out there and that one episode teaser doesn't properly display what the show is

If it was on prime like good omens or Hulu like Buffy and wwdits it would probably be a lot more popular. It relies entirely on word of mouth and most people I know pirate it (or use my login)

Accomplishments.

I thought I was forgetting something and then I realized it was my monthly update. Oops. So even though we’re a third into the month, here’s what I did in December.

To be quite honest, most (if not all) of what I did throughout the month was work on the Holiday Special. I’m really glad to see that it was well received (honestly, even though I’ve been doing this for a while, putting anything out is stressful so it’s always great to see positive feedback). I’m a bit of a slow writer so it took me a while, but I’m glad it paid off. I always love writing extra content for you guys anyway.

In terms of Chapter 12, I’m back at it this month and slowly chipping away at it. Still no estimated time for when it’ll be released, but I’m hoping Q1 of 2025. Of course, the break last month didn’t help in terms of productivity and word count, but at least it refreshed my mind. I had just finished up writing a big branch (probably close to 15,000 words) so I was pretty exhausted and tired of the content. That happened a lot when I was writing Chapter 11, which eventually led to a big burnout that I am trying to prevent this time around, because, well, it was not fun. But now that I’ve stayed away from Chapter 12 for a bit, I feel excited enough to go back.

I’m currently writing Eliana’s initial meeting with the Hunter and am trying to pinpoint how I want her to come off. Of course, I have a set personality for her, but determining character traits is one thing—actually making sure they are portrayed in writing is another. It’s been a bit challenging so far, but I do usually say that I like a challenge, so I think it’ll be fun.

I’m estimating the final chapter word count to be somewhere around 45-50k—possibly more if I decide to torture myself with another branch—so I’m at least halfway or a third of the way there. None of the chapters have ever surpassed 70k and I doubt this will, so I don’t have to worry there.

For the rest of January, I’m focusing on just getting as much done as possible. My four year anniversary (wtf) is also coming up for this game, so I’m trying to decide what to do for it. I want to write another short, but that would delay Chapter 12 even further so I’m not sure. Perhaps just a set of drabbles? Let me know if anyone has any ideas. I firmly believe that female!Cédric would look a lot like her mom 🥹 Like Mother, Like Daughter! Long hair is a hassle when you're a swordsman, so she keeps it short... (until she gets jealous over Yeseo and Chris bonding over braiding hair TSK)(actually canon tho LOL)

I also gave female!Cédric the name "Ségolène" (Sieglinde) since it's the French female form of "Siegfried" (to which the author originally confirmed was supposed to be his name until it was changed to better fit the Riesterian setting)! "Céline" was also an option, but there's already a Riester ancestor with that name (Ced's grandmother and Frédérique's mom) and I didn't want them to just switch their names or make her "Céline II", and I'm already SO biased towards "Ségolène" hahaha

(As for the middle name. Well. LMAOOOOO It's self-explanatory, but if you're curious, see the screenshots of my IG story justifications later below! I also just thought it was. really funny OTL)

Christelle Olivier Rambouillet —> Christian Aude Rambouillet

A pretty-looking young man by the name of Christian... I chose "Aude" as the middle name, since that was the sister of "Olivier" in the "Chanson de Roland" where the name comes from! It works well, I find, because Aude is also the betrothed of Roland, which ties in to "Christelle/Christian's" character setting of "love interest", and how Ga-in would eventually gain agency outside of it.

I kept male!Chris' hair long because of the significance it carries for Ham Ga-in who couldn't cut it out of respect/guilt for Ollie 🥲 It's quite a small but significant aspect of Ga-in characterization that would translate well into any version of their character: the notion of "this isn't my body, so I must take care of it well in the original owner's place". (And later, the implied future cutting of hair being the resolution of these dilemmas and internal struggle! I love Ham Ga-in a lot...)

(AND YEAH LOL CHRIS IS STILL SHORTER THAN CED, tho if you want to, you can choose to believe that Chris' 19y.o. body still has room for growth xD)

Jung Yeseo:

As for Jung Yeseo... hahaha her name can remain the same! I wanted to draw her as a pretty girl-next-door unnie, who looks studious, gentle, and cute (but surprisingly fierce when angry LMAO)

Major inspiration was taken from brown-haired shoujo-romance MCs! The original body of the MC from "I Raised a Black Dragon" was especially notable for me. Her design was really cute and always reminded me in some way of Yeseo... TTvT

Anyhow, she's naturally a girl who obliviously captures the hearts of both women and men 🥹👍

Wade hooks back up with Vanessa and Logan resigns himself to being supportive and happy for them but it's secretly broken hearted. Then he and Wade are on a mission together and Wade initiates more extremely violent sex has said something that gives Logan the idea that Vanessa approves of them having violent sex but that's it. and Logan goes "Ah, OK, he wants me around to help scratch this very particular itch that he can't with his regular human girlfriend. So they keep hooking up but only for fucked up gory super sex. Only one day Wade is being his usual goofy flirt and leans in to kiss him sweetly in public and Logan loses it. Eventually Vanessa gets fed up and confronts Logan. How dare he break Wade's heart like that and not give any kind of explanation!! Logan argues with her he doesn't like getting strung around or made fun of. Vanessa asks wtf hes talking about and Logan spills his broken heart about being the third wheel fwb hook up while she and wade get to have a real loving relationship and he's an idiot who actually caught feelings when was only wants him for sex.

And Vanessa gets to blink slowly and take a deep breath and tell him he's not an idiot for falling in love, he's an idiot for not realizing that Wade loves both of them intensely. That Logan's own stupid third wheel history and angst made him assume all Wade's flirty behavior was a joke, but in fact it was 100% genuine, not teasing. That Wade isn't just with him for the weird sex but is genuinely head over heels for him and apparently everyone except him sees that very clearly.

And Logan realizes he's been an angsty dumbass and rushes to make up with Wade and Wade apologizes back about the miscommunication and they both admit their feelings openly. And then they have sweet emotional sex with all the feels, and Wade happily dates both of them forever, the end.

Dani with an I gets adopted by Nightwing

After her initial escape from Vlad, Dani wanders and eventually makes her way to Bludhaven, where she is noticed by the local hero.

He seems nice enough, and the fact that he appears to be a hero like Danny is a point in his favor, but she's extra cautious because she also trusted Vlad until recently.

...

Nightwing has been looking out for a weird, sassy street kid with a penchant for getting into trouble. He's pretty sure that she's some type of Meta, but he hasn't asked and she hasn't told. Either way, she has a knack for getting into places she shouldn't.

He's been gradually building trust with the kid in order to help her better. It's slow going because for all that the kid is chatty and outgoing, she's also hesitant to trust in a way that speaks to hard earned experience.

Going into it, he'd felt that the patient approach was for the best, and it had seemed to be working, but now he's not sure if they have time for it.

It's starting to seem like the girl has some kind of medical condition that's getting worse over time. The girl herself seems to be growing increasingly anxious, like some looming time limit is approaching.

One day he catches a glimpse of glowing green slime oozing out of her arm before she sucks it back in and disappears from the visible spectrum.

Nightwing tracks the seriously ill, apparently in danger of freaking melting, Meta kid to some small town in the middle of nowhere, and arrives just in time to sucker punch a blueskinned vampire who had what looked like a white-haired version of the kid trapped in his lair, thus allowing another kid with an oddly strong resemblance to administer some kind of medicine.

This is how Nightwing ends up sitting in a local burger joint with two ghost kids and a girl in power armor gathering bits and pieces of an incredibly worrying story.

On the upside, the kid he's been looking out for has finally warmed up to him, so Danielle Grayson will be officially his as soon as he can get an identity set up for her.

On the downside, WTF is going on in Amity Park?!
