anybody else in a particular situation where you have a singlet friend who doesn't know you're a system, and they like to talk to you about their OCxCannon ship, and usually its fine, except you have that cannon character as an alter in your system and so whenever they talk about it when that alter is around front, they get a little uncomforable. (understandable, of course). But you (host or other alters who have befriended said singlet) don't know what to do now because you can't just tell them to stop sending that stuff without coming off as rude because they think you're a singlet so suddenly going from "OMG THEY'RE SO CUTE I LOVE THEM!" to "Please never show me art of them again" sounds like a horrible thing to do to someone out of the blue. Especially when your entire friendship so far has kinda been built around sharing OC content.

Also there's no way we're ready to confide that we're a system, idk if she even knows what that is or how she would react to finding out that we have an alter of the character she's been shipping her OC with. we don't know her well enough for that yet, she might get weird about it, she might get upset at us for lying, idk!! we have bad friend trauma so there's a lot of anxiety about revealing ourselves to new people.

Also increasingly aware that a LOT of people "manage" getting through the 40+ hour work week by sleeping less than is healthy and relying on stimulants like coffee and energy drinks to keep them going.

For people who are unwilling or unable to do this...work really does just dominate your life. Like we really should not have to rely on unhealthy practices just to have a social life or keep on top of housework or whatever.

I know I post about this a lot but I'm so TIRED all the time and it's just so depressing that this is how we're expected to spend the one life we have.

Day 27. The (I think) universal experience

One of my favorite things in GF fics is when Stan throws something Ford has said/ written about him in his face.

Like, for example, some time during their travels Stan somehow reveals that this whole time he's had this creeping thought that Ford only wants him around out of guilt or obligation. Ford is naturally taken aback by just how far from the truth it is and, more importantly, very hurt that his brother can even think that about him.

And so Stan says something along the lines of

"Am I supposed to believe that you suddenly give a shit about me now? Or is it just that I've done something worthwhile for the first time in my life? That I was useful to you?"

And Ford's immediate reaction is

"God, Stanley, why'd you even think-

-oh"

Like, the whole thing of Stan still thinking about those words that were said years ago, now when everything is fine and when Ford is actively doing everything he can to show his brother that he loves him. Meanwhile Ford never thought much about those words, never placed any importance on them and only perhaps meant them the moment when he said them, when he was angry and very tired. He didn't even really regret them because he didn't remember about them, that's how little they mattered. But they mattered to Stan, still do and haunt him every day

Jaiden: It's just like, such a good laugh! I wish I had a– a like, more-hearty laugh. You know? You know what I'm talking about? My laugh is kinda like... Uh, you know how you guys compare Foolish's laugh to like, the... window cleaner? Like a– [Squeaky window-cleaning sound]

Jaiden: I can't do it– [Laughs] It doesn't sound like that. I think mine is like... Because like, I do like, "Hee hee hee!" and I also like, breathe in, like– [Squeaky sound] You know? So I think– My laugh kinda just sounds like... Like, after you spray the window, and you're like, cleaning it. Like, wiping it down with a cloth. You know? That's what my laugh sounds like. I wish it was more of like a, "Ha ha ha."
