Let's Actually Talk About The Issues With Vivziepop

Okay, first off, hello you beautiful people! Sorry about this foreboding title, but I needed to catch y'all attention on this so I can break down the issues that I and many have with "Hazbin Hotel" and "Helluva Boss" creator, Vivienne Medrano. Now I am sure you all on here are already aware of at least a couple of the controversies that revolve around this particular creator and if you have seen my posts floating around already, some have been greeted with the problems surrounding her social media presence and just her overall as a person. I know seeing another callout on her seems very very tiring at this point, but I felt that a lot of the current callouts missed key details that were not at all addressed or properly delved on. I plan on shedding light on my issues with her and I hope you get where I am coming from when I say that she sucks.

BULLYING

Okay, I am starting off with Vivienne's blatant use of bully mentality, her agreeing or encouraging her fans to call people who see flaws in her works sub-humans or harass those who find issue or simply jest about her works trademark cussing and and overcrowded designs. She has had this issue for YEARS and refuses to grow up and act her age despite many telling her, even her own fans at times, that she shouldn't be acting so unprofessionally. Clearly, she doesn't care and thanks to her fanbase caring more about her feelings than her being better she feels as though she doesn't need to change or do better. This goes for her friend group as well, who defend her tremendously and act as though she is never in the wrong. Name one time a friend of hers called her out for acting childish, I'll wait.

Now, you're probably wondering, "Wtf could they have done to warrant such a response?"

Criticism...That's all they did. (White Text is random peeps they would speak with or maybe mutuals)

Keep in mind...they used to be a fan as well. They were also a minor at this point

But, Viv doesn't care, this person's critical yet harmless tweets about her shows is what lead to her painting them in a horrible light and making them out to be someone who has attacked her personally and as "nasty".

Rich coming from Viv since she is completely fine doing exactly that for "Ava's Demon". Not only does she criticize it, she takes a shot at the creator as well, but GOD FORBID others do the same towards her.

And according to someone who knew her well, it's all cause they felt creeped out by her.

Her hatred for criticism is so prominent that Ima makes that a section of its own. But let's get back on the topic of bullying.

Vivienne has a fanbase filled to the brim with pushy and overall annoying individuals who have harassed, threatened, disrespected, and wished harm on many people, all cause someone had a negative thing to say about Vivziepop's mid af show. One of the earlier known instances is the one revolving around a MEME of all things.

This was what started it all, and it led to both parties blocking each other and people being mad pushy and calling them an idiot and the like over their opinions. Now look, their take and you're opinion on said take is fine so long as you stay respectful and humane about it all, but don't dogpike someone all cause they think HH sucks. And while Viv can not control her fanbase, for they are not a hivemind (some of y'all act it tho, ima keep it real) she is seen here ENCOURAGING the behavior. Tell me how someone who doesn't even like your trash ass show has the sense to tell people not to harass others, someone with a smaller following, but not your grown damn near 30 year old ass?

Oh, but people wanna act like she can handle criticism, is a sweet person, and grew from her past experiences. Fam, she was 27 in this screenshot [December 16, 2019] and has shown no change from 2013 to fucking 2024. Over a decade of the same petty ass behavior, and keep in mind, according to several of her old friends and workers, she is worse behind close doors. WORSE. She's already acting like she got no damn sense out in the open, imagine behind closed doors.

Last but not least, a glimpse into her outright blatant slander towards Dollcreep, a once good friend of hers that she even visited and spoke with frequently!

She stated that they fetishized pedophilia yet according to the victim and friends of the victim who were once friends with Viv as well, Viv actually threatened to end their friendship if he hadn't drawn NSFW art of her character and his character having sex [Addi was 15 at the time this was drawn]

On top of that, she liked the post, something she didn't need to do. The art also depicted things she had regularly drawn on her own. Addi being tied up forcefully, being sexualized, being harmed to some degree through bondage, etc. The claim that she forced DC to draw this out is backed up by her own art depicting similar elements. Also, if my memory serves me well, Viv and Doll were 17-18 years old [Doll was 17 Viv 18] and have a 1-year age gap. The way Viv frames things here is as if DC was way older and imposed some sort of power over DC, which sources say otherwise. If anything, Viv had a LOT of control throughout all of this drama, which deserves its own section.

I'll be making posts that talk about the different issues regarding Viv, so one post isn't too long (this one is already lengthy enough) and that you can just pick at one post targeting certain issues around this creator.

Midnight Burger Critic

I’ve been trying to listen to Midnight Burger cause I’ve heard people really like it but idk. I like the concept and the characters dynamics at certain points. It’s just the dialogue can be REALLY bad sometimes. Kinda forced a points??? Ala, “wHat’s iS haPpeNinG” “iT’s RiGhT bEhiND mE” levels if that makes sense? Especially Gloria which is a shame since she’s supposed to be the MC. I understand she’s supposed to be the audience, but idk a lot of the reactions/dialogue feel kinda forced???(all the characters have their moments, i’d say Ava is a close second) Also I think Gloria’s sarcasm is an element, sometimes hits and when it doesn’t it sounds very forced. But when the characters are acting like normal people, the banter’s great! Surprisingly I have no notes for radio couple, they’re dialogue always feels natural and I love them as characters (fascinating little religious couple I wanna analyze them under a microscope)

I’m sticking with it cause the parts I like it enough to give it a second chance(aka finish s1) and I am curious about where it goes. Plus, I assume the writing gets better as the show progresses. Also it’s not like the dialogue is 100% bad, it feels like once the conflict starts they tend to talk more normally, it’s usually the beginning/some of the conclusion of the eps. I’m on ep4 tho, so we’ll see(tears my fav radio couple aren’t in this ep)

It’s not like I hate this show or anything. I did mostly like the bar episode! I thought the couples robot thing was cool, and the characters interactions there were very fun. And there’ve been moments in all the episodes that I actually really liked. Also it is nice that has a lighter vibe (I’ve heard S2 is more serious but that’s a later situation). Idk, was I the only one with this experience?

EDIT:OKAY I THINK I GOT IT! (just finished ep 4). I think the show’s better when it’s being serious vs trying to be funny. Not like it’s anything melodramatic, but the more serious dialogue just feels the strongest, except the radio, they are good regardless of trying to be funny or not. Not to say none of the jokes land, quite of them do, and I like the lighter tone, but when the characters take the situation seriously is when the dialogue tends to improve. Like in ep 4 casper’s phone call and the parking lot scene were really good!

I will say of the many picrew I have done two of my more fond ones are this beetlejuice looking bit and this dark academia mountain man look.

The colors of the last one aren't my fave, but it is the patterns and the hair for me. As for the first, I love Kendis in reds and purples. I also love short coily haired Kendis.

Future headcanon

I think, once all of this is done, I would like Kendis to leave [REDACTED]. As much as I am anti-cop!Kendis -- I could see them staying there because they put a lot of work into it. They don't have such ties to the new job, so maybe a career change would happen. But I definitely see them going to travel, and IF they come back opening a small business in Wayhaven. And, if they don't, go back to school or find some sort of noteriaty to make money.

Kendis takes Douglas under their wing. I don't know if they end up with Nate or Ava or both. Maybe eventually. They stay close with M and F though. Not as close as before, but still. They are in contact with Tina. Them and Verda are very tight tho ... and strangely Captain Sung is still on their contact list.

All the time -- but never as much as Nate some might want/expect.

Hrm. When is Kendis 100% Kendis? I think when they're in the kitchen and when they're on a mini-adventure. Away from Wayhaven, trying a new hobbie or restaurant. I think Verda and Tina ... and Hayley have gotten the most Kendis of Kendises, and probably Verda the most.

Val:

Simple, always. I am fond of Val with a leather jacket and a tank top/t-shirt. But I feel rolled up sleeves Val is the best look, or tank top Val sans jacket. Especially with the hair a little long and floppy.

Future headcanon

I see a future for them and Adam. I do not think they stay in Wayhaven. I feel Val might stay a detective. I think they do something with kids -- I don't know about foster parents, but big brother/big sister?

I don't know, I just see these two together and domestic, but not fully in the traditional sense.

When do you think they were being "themselves" the most?

I think when they get to work in the garage -- but when they are on their own. A front comes up when the garage workers show up. I think more and more - slowly - around Tina, and a slower around Felix. Tina pushes for sleepovers and showing Felix the world is fun. And Val is starting to trust they will stick around, that they will accept them [Felix, especially. Tina and they have had bad rubs in the past so they are lest sure there but it is happening].

6. Do they own a pet? Jasmine: I'm on the fence for her. she doesn't have a pet at the moment, but also if she were to have one - I think she'd have an owl as a pet. Small and grumpy like their owner hehe. Karthik: Would love to have a dog one day, maybe when Meera is a little bit older then he can get one. but currently he is petless.

7. Do they have any fears? Jasmine: dislikes creepy crawlies, can be rather squeamish and will be found on top of the counter at even the sight of one. regardless how small. Is scared when she opens herself up, the other is disgusted what they find inside. Is anxious what other's think of her, even if she acts as she doesn't care. Scared of love and that love could be taken away or used against her at any given moment. Lastly, scared never being someone's first choice. Karthik: one of his biggest fears would be losing people, in both a unable to protect them from dangers and ruining relationships that will cause the other person to leave kinda way. He is also scared about being forgotten, he cares so much about other people that we only wishes and hopes he is seen as the same way.

8. What do they think of Unit Bravo? Jasmine: - Ava: Didn't get along as the start, used to butt heads a lot. but realised they are both similar than expected. Like how protective she is over her team and honestly admires her leadership skills. Can bond whilst training since both are combat skilled and also play a good game of chess. - Nat: Was slight pouty when she first saw her height, in comparison to her own. but has come to appreciate Nat as a friend of sorts. Tho only didn't trust her at the start with how nice and welcoming she was, made her slight weary cause of past experiences. but slowly start to bond more, even if the steps are slow. - Morgan: probs get along with Morgan the least. Wasn't a fan of her attitude at the start. a grump meets another grump, doesn't go as well as planned. but does appreciate the quiet moments and her loyalty to her team. but appreciates most when she includes Jasmine in those words. - Farah: Was flustered with Farah since the moment they met. admires her endless joy and optimism. Admires that shes so unshamelessly herself and truly the heart of the family. With Farah, Jasmine would want to feel she can open that door and be herself without the fear of shame or mockery. Sees Farah as genuinely good, charming, really pretty that doesn't quite understand why someone like Farah would want to be with someone like her. Karthik: -Ava: Admires her headstrongness and would think she considers the team, himself included, as a family than just a team. Tho does feel she can be rather too logical at times, clashing with his always thinking with his heart. can get a little overwhelmed with her uprightness and all the plans - since he rather go with the flow lol. -Nat: Got along so well since the beginning. Bonding over antique shopping, dogs and languages. It was nice to find another that shares his same interests! Considers her as a kind, gentle soul who is a very close friend to him. -Mason: At the start, was intrigue with his mysteriousness. The more he started to know him, he admires his fierce loyalty for those he cares for. Thinks of the team as a family. his own sense of humour that makes Karthik chuckle, even when not understanding the sarcasm. but mostly, he admires when Mason can trust him enough to be vulnerable. Will trust and protect Mason as fiercely as he does to him. -Felix: Admires his sweet and fun loving nature. His energy matches his own. loves his optimistic, high strong spirit. Seeing his curiosity with new things, makes Karthik want to experience them with him. It pains him when he sees Felix sad and wants to do whatever he can to make sure his smile stays radiant and permenmant. Loves his jokes and cheekiness as well!

9. What is their relationship with their mother like? Jasmine: Quite tense. But she doesn't wish it be - all she wanted was for Rebecca to choose her over her own work for once in her life. Starting to appreciate seeing more of Rebecca around, its more than she ever thought she'd get - but is still walking with caution tape to avoid the disappointment once again. Karthik: Is very close with her, as much as he can be. Family and community is forever important to him and doesn't wish to lose that. Even if it means creating excuses for her behaviour to keep her more around in his life. Refuses to see the bad in her, his intense optimism can make the truth blurry.

10. What about their hobbies? Jasmine: Enjoys cooking! loves to experiment with different flavours, combinations and spices. Has started her own recipe book in inspiration of her father. She also enjoys a game of chess to keep her mind at ease, and other puzzles. Keeps quite a few houseplants and enjoys tendering to them. Karthik: is an outdoor person, enjoys many types of sports such as; basketball, cricket, tennis, running, volleyball and swimming. Likes to bake as well - even if he may not be the best at it. Lastly, he loves to garden, his dream to own his own house with a large back garden to tends to the flowers and plants to his hearts content. I thought i’d give my two cents on Ava’s character cause why not.

The chosen one trope is very cliche but somehow i think Ava still is interesting. And I think we all have seen the incompetent hero that has a lot to learn and stuff, but as for a hero as reluctant at first as Ava? I don’t think it’s a new concept really tho

I think most hero characters have some sense of wanting to take the responsibility and to help others. But considering her backstory of having to be at the mercy of others all the time and no control over her life, her reluctance in the beginning makes sense. (Tho i think her running around with JC and co was a bit too dragged out and slow, as many others did too probably).

What makes her do a 180 and suddenly want to join the OCS then? I think she had that instinct to help ppl before cause at some point she follows someone possessed into an alley but i think her want for freedom was bigger. Until Mary took her to that Village and she was shown ppl suffering cause of demons. When she helped that possessed man in the village she might have felt for the first time that she is useful by helping/saving someone. (Agsjkd it all makes sense, but this is so sad tho actually). But also something i think held her back was not wanting such a big responsibility cause she never had had to take on responsibilities before. And also the obvious reason of not having had good experiences with nuns before.

Something else i wanna talk abt is her being very perceptive sometimes even if she might appear the opposite. When talking to Bea (in s1 ep 3 or 4) she knows there is more to her story and points it out. Ava also does seem to have pretty good social skills despite never having been outside the orphanage before. (Contrary to Jasmine who is somewhat awkward due to having lived kinda isolated before (they talked abt this in interviews with her actor)). Back to Ava, i guess she must have picked up social skills from watching a lot of tv. But still it’s not quite the same as interacting irl so maybe she used to imagine conversations in her head with characters on tv or something. Also some pointed out she actually learned from her training despite not seeming to listen, i think it’s just her being naturally good at picking up things fast without even noticing herself.

Enrique - a spanish 150cm short gremlin illussionist who is constantly pissed off at all and everyone. You thought Lorenzo is bad? He's chill compared to Enrique. Most of his anger stems however from having to fight for respect bc everyone looks at this guy who looks like a 12 year old and underestimates him, which he hates with a passion.

Raphael -portugese lanky guy who seems to always be asleep and dissociating unless its about fighting and killing. He has the byname Mantis as he uses bladed tonfas that he uses in a way that sometimes makes him look like a mantis. It can be said that he is the third strongest of the storm squad, tho he definitely lacks any leadership skills and leaves the WORST reports of them all.

Nono - while Luss is a direct officer with healing abilities, Nono is an actual medic who specializes in anything to do with medicine and surgery. He is also incredibly fickle in his mental state as he has quite the past. So his temper is short and he hates anyone getting preventable injuries. He WILL make your life hell before he patches you up and sometimes he will refuse care outright if he deems your injuries too stupid to deal with (you tried to juggle with knives and cut half your face off? Have fun walking to the next hospital bc Nono is gonna kick you out of the infirmary in 0.3 seconds flat once he hears the background of youe injury). There is a rumor that he caused 46 of Shamals diseases as he was jealous of Shamal being asked to join the Varia before him, but the timeline doesnt match up and both deny this rumor when asked. However they still seem to have a very very bad relationship with each other to the point their encounters usually lead with Nono trying to cut Shamals throat with one of his scalpels at the very first chance he gets, with Shamal preventing him from it. When the Tsuna family sees that for the first time and asks what the hell is going on with Nono, Sergey, present at the time, just states "Oh this is pretty normal for medicals with differing opinions. Its rather cut-throat. Get it?"

"Preventable injuries" that Nono wont treat includes:

-any kitchen accident

-any injuries caused by the boss' having a tanturm

-any and all injuries sustained from someone asking Ava for a duel. This does not include regular sparing, however he is still really annoyed at it.

-any "stupid" accidents (tripping and falling and breaking your face)

-overworking and overexertion during training. He only cares for them very very rarely and when he does he will NOT make it comfortable.

-any and all injuries from someone challenging a fighter clearly stronger than them (Ava is a very common occurance but that doesnt mean people havent tried to get a win on Sergey or Leo bc they seemed 'too goofy to be good fighters')

-any and all injuries caused by Nono himself bc you were a dumbass that decided to piss him off.

I’m so glad you enjoy talking about them and that I get to read everything. Truly, it makes me really happy and I was so excited to learn there were even more characters! I love Enrique so frigging much. I admit some of it might be bias because holy heck, even I’m taller than him and that normally only happens with young children! I love him being that tiny and just having short man syndrome where he’s just perpetually pissed off. He sounds like he would be really amusing to read about, honestly. I love Raphael’s weapon. That’s a really cool idea and would look badass drawn up manga style or animated as an anime. It’s really interesting that he’s this really proficient badass when it comes to actually fighting, but when it comes to the paperwork side, he just sucks. I kept getting Nono and ‘Nono’ as in Timoteo confused throughout reading, but that’s just a me thing. I really, really enjoy him a lot and it makes so much sense for the Varia to have several medics on hand, actually, given the dangerous nature of their lives. And Nono is so Varia in his demeanor, how he comes off reading about him, his attitude. It seems like he’d fit in perfectly with them all. I love Nono’s refusal to just treat idiocy though and all his rules make sense to me, haha.

Now I really try and emphasize with Harry because of course his situation isn’t ideal. I have been stuck in certain relationships/friendships that have been just not great but only really staying with the hope that they can be where we were once before ya know. And like he has dedicated a lot of time with Ava and even about the idea of it being over can be scary because it’s new! And the fact that Ava is aware of how shitty the relationship is but she also doesn’t want Harry to be happy just does to show how both are so just not for each other anymore! But I really did like an insight to her perspective in this part!

But my girl is just so heartbroken:( like my heart died a little every time Harry would call Ava by a pet name and like my poor Sunshine is over here just being so gone for him for her world to start to crumble 😭 like that laundry room scene was so painful to read but in a way where I am so invested in their story that I think that this angst really just brings it all together!

(No real spoilers ahead just FYI, very very minor ones if at all)

So, in my post after watching eps 1 & 2, I realize now, I come off pretty Negative Nancy about the whole thing, and I want to be clear about some things: I LOVE this show. It runs through my veins at this point. I take issue with some of the narrative/technical/creative choices they made in the first 2 eps of season 2 because, in my opinion, those choices divert from the characters as we've come to know them, and I also feel they've sacrificed a lot of the emotional weight we were left with in the finale in favor of this supposed reset. I know most people loved it tho, and that's cool, we don't all always have to agree!

HOWEVER, I think there's a conversation we need to have, especially with season 2 premiering so soon for everybody who didn't get to see it in advance. So, I'm pushing through this retrograde-induced depressive episode to talk about some things because I do think it's important, especially given that a lot of us are just off this Killing Eve train-wreck of a series finale.

Alright, here we go!

The most important thing we need to keep in mind when jumping back into the show is that JPL have NEVER promised us Ava/Deborah endgame, nor has the show ever directly or explicitly pointed toward that being the intent of the plot. While it's employed every romcom trope already, they have NEVER given any indication that Deborah and Ava will ever canonically be romantically involved. The repeated mantra of "Hacks is a love story" is true and genuine, and in my opinion can remain so without having Ava and Deborah ever actually get together. It's important that we don't confuse fanon with canon because that's the easiest way to disappoint ourselves.

Now, I'm obviously not JPL so I don't know what their plans are for the show, but as it stands, and take it from someone who has listened to every podcast & watched every interview with JPL because what goes into making a show fascinates me, I have never, ever felt as if they're trying to sell us Deborah and Ava as an actual couple who get together and hook up and fall in love. This is not queerbait. I repeat, this is not queerbait.

As far as that interview, and the comment about Deborah loving attention, I mean...I think that's been pretty clear from the very beginning. She even admits it herself when she says "You know I hate attention". She is an attention whore and we love her for it! I don't know if they really are going to allow Deborah to explore her sexuality on the cruise in the way I hope they do, but if that's a thing that's going to happen, in my opinion it makes perfect sense that it happens while she's surrounded by women who want to fuck her lol

That being said, we should also prepare ourselves for the heartbreak of Deborah being like "well, I tried that and it turns out I'm pretty straight" because it is a possibility. JPL don't owe us a queer Deborah Vance, especially if that was never their vision for her in the first place, and ESPECIALLY when they've given us so much queer content already. Literally everyone else in this show is queer, played by queer actors, written by queer writers, this show is still our queer unicorn. That they've given us Ava's dream already and that they'll give us (at least that's what it sounds like) Deborah potentially giving some lucky girl a chance is gift enough.

Look, we're lucky enough to have some incredibly talented writers in our little fandom. Writers who are so good they've convinced us Ava and Deborah are actually on the road to ending up together lol. That's what fanfiction is for, kids! All I'm saying is, let's be realistic about what we're watching and let's just enjoy this show for what it is and not for what it isn't because honestly? It's still like nothing I personally have ever seen and I'm not willing to discredit it that easily.

hey it’s puppetavasharpe lol I came to express my thoughts on the baby plot line cuz I saw you were talking about it in the tags. I think it’s super offensive how this season has completely desexualized avalance to the point where they got pregnant by “unprotected kissing.” And no one is talking about it because they hear the word “baby” and all brain cells go out their ears lmao 😭😭. The baby plot makes no sense continuity-wise because of Sara’s traumas and I wish they would give us a wlw (1)

(2) that didn’t want kids. Avalance is a perfect couple for that type of representation, and if they wanted to go the baby route, it would have been nice to have at least had an explanation as why. Like maybe Sara has seen enough bad in the world and wants to have a bundle of love or smthn. But we didnt even get to see Ava trying to sort out paper work of them trying to adopt 😩 but fr avalance used to talk whips and now theyr pregnant by kissing. Was the writing room replaced by flash writers😭

(3) and I’m annoyed they nerf’d Sara specifically so she could have a baby. That and conception by kissing are two very offensive decisions imo 😩. YeehawSara and I have kinda given up on writing cuz this season has been a bit disappointing and our motivation has dropped significantly due to how they have written Sara and Ava. As for some positivity tho, I loved the reality tv episode more than ever lmao.

You knew the holidays this year were going to be difficult. You procrastinated on getting gifts for your friends. Your work seemed to pile up on your desk since you got your promotion. You weren’t able to fly back home, and you still had some thanksgiving weight you weren’t able to put off.

Oh yeah, another thing. Harry was still with his girlfriend.

You met Katy, Harry’s girlfriend, at his birthday party in February. She was the epitome of ‘his type’. She had bleach blonde extensions and the bluest eyes you've ever seen. She was tall and really, really loud.

Since then, she’s all he ever talked about when they weren’t together, but when they were in the same room, boy did you want to gag.

You thought they would last maybe three to four months, you were so sure, you bet with some of your other friends.

Needless to say, you lost quite a lot of money.

You tried not to let it bother you, really. But it was so hard when Harry is the literal sweetest person you’ve met, had the voice of an angel and wasn’t bad to look at.

You felt you were the closest with Harry when you moved to London. He made you feel welcome in your little friends group. There was a little flirting game between the two of you that you didn’t even notice until one of your friends brought it up.

“Oh c’mon, it’s so obvious you like each other.” Margot slurred, her second glass clinking against the table as she finished every drop.

“What?” You asked, baffled. Your eyes were wide and your face started to heat up. “He doesn’t like me.”

“But you like him?” Ava, a friend from work, smirked at you.

You stumbled on your words, wiping at the condensation on your glass.

But since he was in a relationship now, you felt almost icky around him. You felt so uncomfortable around him that you did whatever you could to not be in the same room as him.

You were ready for the holidays, you thought. It would give you a break from constantly thinking about him being so busy with your family back in your hometown.

You should’ve known London weather wouldn’t be in your favor. It rained constantly everyday and the fog seemed to get closer to the ground every other day. The weather was getting so bad that you started working from home, the roads too wet and icy to drive on. So honestly, you weren’t that surprised when airports closed due to the weather, meaning you had to spend Christmas in London.

With Harry.

The day after flights were cancelled Harry texted on your group chat saying he could host a dinner and party on Christmas eve and everyone was invited. You watched texts from your other friends flood in, some excited vulgar words were thrown in there as well.

You never responded. Not only because you still felt weird around him for having this massive crush on him, but because things haven’t really been the same between you two.

You can’t remember the last time you had a full on conversation with him before you had to excuse yourself because you couldn’t take the ache in your chest when you were around him, and he wasn’t yours. You can’t remember the last joke he ever told you or when you went out for lunch or drinks when it was only the two of you. You were sure he noticed how weird you were around him, but never said anything, so you let it be.

As the day neared, your mind would change on whether you were going or not. You didn’t want to seem bitchy and cold on what was supposed to be the happiest and cheerful day of the year, so you thought you would go. You thought of every reason you shouldn’t go that had nothing to do with Harry, but you knew you wouldn’t be able to handle seeing him cozy up with his very serious girlfriend.

But there would be alcohol, so you decided to go.

You stared at the text for what seemed like hours, but it was only a couple seconds. Before you could even register what your fingers were doing, you tied up a quick message and hit send before you could stop yourself.

Of course!! See you tomorrow!

You hated yourself for the rest of the day. Why would you do this to yourself? You could barely be in the same room as him and some other friends. How would you survive being alone before the party started?

The butterflies in your stomach have not been able to settle since you woke up Christmas Eve morning. Just the thought of seeing him made you nervous. You almost didn’t get out of bed that morning. But you pat yourself on the back when your feet finally hit your wooden flooring and moved on with your day.

Your shoulders hung low beside you as the time to meet up grew closer, the sun lowering behind you, Christmas lights and inflatable decorations coming to life as stars dotted the sky.

You sighed heavily as you styled your hair and naturally did your makeup.

You slid on your silky, tight dress and grabbed your coat and quickly made your way to your car to get away from the bitter cold.

You rubbed your hands together, blowing into them to regain some feeling before turning the key into the ignition, quickly turning the heater on, Mariah Carey blasting through your speakers.

You were about to pull out of your driveway, mumbling along to Mariah’s notes when you realized you forgot the gifts.

Your shoulders were hunched up as you knocked on the white door, your foot tapping against the brick stairs of Harry’s house as you waited for him to open it in the freezing cold.

You could hear shuffling from the other side and watched the doorknob wiggle, Harry having trouble with his lock since June and still hasn’t had anyone fix it.

The door swings open to reveal Harry in his glory, brown corduroy pants and an ugly Christmas sweater under an apron that’s tied around his slender waist that you’ve always been jealous of.

“Hey, sorry, come on in.” Harry said to you before moving out of the way, a bowl nestled between his side and his arm.

You mumbled a quiet thank you before stepping in, your cheeks reddening at the warmth enveloping you as you walked through the foyer of his home.

“Mm,” he hummed as he remembered something. He puts down the bowl he had on his white kitchen counter and waddles over to you, a small curve on his lips as he wrapped his arms around you. “Merry Christmas, love.”

You hate that nickname. But you don’t. You hate the butterflies that flutter in your stomach when he says that word. You hate the goosebumps it causes you and the hairs sticking up on your neck when he says the one thing you feel too harshly for him. And you hate how much he doesn’t feel it back.

“Merry Christmas, Harry.” You mumbled into his neck, his cologne flooding your senses bringing you comfort.

He doesn’t let go of you yet, but he backs up just a little to see you. “You look gorgeous, (y/n).”

The air gets stuck in your lungs and you almost forgot how to formulate words. You hoped Harry thought the pigment on your cheeks would be from the cold because it totally was. Before it was obvious how his words affected you, you stuttered out a few words. “Thank you, you look nice too.”

He chuckled at you, the breath passing his lips hitting your neck, a tingle passing through your spine. “You don’t have to lie, darling.” He squeezed you one last time before letting you go, your body instantly becoming colder as he backed away.

There's a low hum of Christmas music playing in his surround sound system, a tall tree tucked in a corner between his burning fireplace and window looking out onto the street.

You turn your attention back to Harry as he speaks up again, his famous dimples puncturing his cheeks. “Thanks fo’ comin’ early to help me out.”

You rolled your coat off your shoulders and hung by the door, walking up to him as he moved around the kitchen. “Oh yeah, it’s no problem. Not like I had anything else to do.”

He gave you a small sympathetic smile before throwing a tray full of greens into the oven. “I’m sorry you couldn’t go see your family.”

You shrug as you run your finger on the edge of his marble counter. “It’s alright, nothing I can do much anyway.” You perk up when you remember what you’re doing here so early in the first place. “Guess that’s why I’m here, no? What can I help you with?” Your heels click as you move around the counter closer to him.

“Nope.” His lips puckered as he pushed you back to where you were standing. “Just stand there and talk to me. Wine?”

Your brows furrowed in confusion as you blindly nod, watching him uncork a bottle of Moscato. Your favorite.

He hands you a glass of the sparkling wine before turning back around to the dishes, prepping food of all kinds for everyone and most importantly; eggnog.

“But, you said you needed my help.”

He chuckled nervously, his cheeks reddening. From your comment or from the wine? You weren’t going to get your hopes up. “I just need some company before the party. Just stand there and look pretty.”

You try your hardest ignore the blush on your cheeks. You twirl the wine glass from the neck, watching the liquid swirl around in the depths of the glass. “What about Katy?”

He sighs deeply, opening the oven to check on the food. “We’ve been kind of fighting lately.”

You did your best to stop the grin from forming on your lips, hoping he did notice your sudden burst at the new information. They are still together, so you can’t act on anything. “I’m sorry. Can I ask what’s going on?”

He shrugs. “I don’t know really. Anything and everything. Every little thing I do annoys her and anything she does annoys me. It just wasn’t the same.”

“Is she coming?” You ask before you can think about it.

He shrugs again, shoulders hanging more than usual. “I don’t think so. She said she was staying home since she can‘t fly back to her family either.”

A silence hangs between the two of you when neither of you said anything, not really sure of what needs to be said next.

“I don’t think I feel the same way for her as I did in the beginning.” Harry mumbled, arms crossed over his chest as his hip leaning against the counter, his usually bright eyes a little darker, a little sadder.

You walk up to him and lay your hand on his shoulder, giving him a small smile. “It’s not my business but, if you really feel that way, you shouldn’t lead her on, it’ll only hurt both of you.”

Harry looks down at the floor as he nods. “Thanks, love.”

There’s a wave of silence between you again as he raises his head to look at you. You almost felt small under his gaze. Something about his crystal green eyes always made you nervous. You were scared he could see what you were really thinking.

And you also swear his eyes fell to your lips.

The dinner party was in full swing now, people’s laughter bleeding in with the loud Christmas music playing around the house. Some people were dancing in front of the fireplace, drinks being refilled every once in a while.

You were standing by the counter with your friends, Margot and Ava, chatting and drinking your eggnog instead of the wine you had before the party started. You had completely forgotten about the wonderful man hosting this party, the conversation you had earlier with him slipping your mind as the drink in your hand lowered to the bottom of the glass, intoxicating your thoughts.

Even though you offered to help, Harry didn’t let you help with the rest of dinner before everyone came over, so now the food still wasn’t ready as people flooded in. You heard him say something about potatoes and that was as much as you knew of the food preparation and when you would be able to eat.

The music is lowered a bit and then a clicking sound was heard, everyone turning their heads towards Harry, who clinked a fork against his glass. “Dinner is ready!”

Everyone cheered and started making their way towards the dining room. Most people had already filtered towards the next room when a knock on the front door was heard.

You turned your head as Harry twisted the knob. You were sure Harry's face mimicked yours when you saw who was standing at the doorway.

There stood Katy, hair newly bleached and a little overdressed.

She wasted no time in wrapping her arms around him, her plump lips repeatedly marking his face with the bright lipstick.

“Oh god,” you waltzed over towards Ava, who was pouring herself a new glass of eggnog. “pass me the eggnog, I can’t stand this sober.” You pushed her over slightly and grabbed the handle of the ladle she was using, filling up your cup almost to the brim.

Ava looked at you in curiosity at your sudden change, carefully looking over at the lovely couple still by the door. “Wait, I thought you told me they were fighting.” She whispered beside you, eyes widening as she watched you gulp down some of the eggnog you just served yourself to give yourself some more.

“Guess fucking not.” You were much less sober now, on the brink of tipsy and drunk. Your words slurred, eyelids heavy, vision blurry. “Let’s go fucking eat.” You dragged Ava by the wrist towards the commotion in the dining room, almost, but not quite forgetting about the couple behind you.

You’ve had four glasses of eggnog. Or was it five? But now, you stand in front of the bowl, pouring some into your glass again, making it six.

“Don’t you think you’ve had enough?” You hear his sultry voice behind you, his tone a little sassy and annoyed, but you didn’t care.

“What are you gonna do about it?” You slurred, turning around to face him. His pink lips were turned down in a frown, his eyebrows furrowed in frustration, his buff arms that were constricted in his sweater cross in front of his chest. “Gonna go kiss your girlfriend some more?” You stumbled on your feet, your drink almost spilling over the rim.

“What does that have to do with anything?” His face changed from annoyance to confusion. His thumb twisting the ring on his other finger nervously.

You open your mouth to retaliate, but even in this drunk state you knew not to say anything. You chug the creamy drink, keeping eye contact with him, watching his face change again. You didn’t care.

He obviously didn’t care either.

You sighed dramatically as you finished the drink. “Merry fucking Christmas.”

You had sobered up quite a bit after your little encounter with Harry, mainly because there was no eggnog left.

You realized it was for the better though, so you made your way back into the kitchen, doing your best to not stumble or bump against anything as you grabbed an empty cup to fill with water.

“I am really sorry.” You knew his voice anywhere. But it wasn’t his usual chirpy, charming voice he had that always soothed you, it sounded more sad and somber.

“On Christmas? Out of any day you chose today?” Katy sniffled, voice wobbly and hurt.

“I know but, you know we can’t go on any longer, we’ll just hurt each other more.”

“I think I'm going to head out.”

You don’t hear Harry say anything back, but the sound of the door clicking open catches your attention and you almost turn around to watch.

“I just have one question.” Katy said weakly.

You walked away before you could hear anything else.

Even though you were still a little upset at Harry (For what? You weren’t sure anymore), you stayed behind as everyone left to help him clean up before you head home.

You were putting things back in his refrigerator when you heard the front door close, the light chatter and drunken goodbyes silenced by the wooden door.

You kept your back towards the door, suddenly nervous of the words that would be spoken between the two of you.

“(y/n), can we talk?” Harry’s voice was low and sultry, your knees almost gave out.

“I should um-I should get going. It’s late.” You hurry around him to grab your things and for the door, but he holds your wrist.

“Please?” He sounded desperate, and for the first time in what felt like days you looked up into his emerald eyes. There was that desperate look in his eyes, his eyebrows furrowed and lips turned down into a frown.

You sigh and nod slowly.

He lets go of your wrist and stuffed his hands in his back pockets, his pink cheeks either from the cold or from nervousness.

“I’m sorry.” He said suddenly. “I didn’t mean to get mad and I know I shouldn’t have said anything.”

Is that it?

You weren’t going to lie, you thought he would profess his love to you or something.

“I um- I also,” he swallows and takes your hand, his rings cold to the touch. “I broke up with Katy.”

Your mouth opened for words to come out but nothing ever left your lips.

“Do you want to know the real reason why Katy and I were fighting?”

You’re still speechless, scared of the answer, even though you have an idea of what he'll say.

“I’ve always liked you, (y/n).” His shoulders rise in a deep breath. “I guess, I don’t know, I thought if I started seeing someone else it would it easier but, not being with you this past year has been hell and I know I haven’t made it any easier with being with Katy but—”

Your lips crash on his, your arms wrapping his neck, your fingers immediately tangling in his brown locks.

He stumbles back in shock but grabs at your hips, bringing you closer to his chest.

His pink lips press against yours, the corners slowly turning up into a smile, breaking your kiss.

“Merry fucking Christmas to me.”

all this Lou discourse is tiring because it feels like a lot of contradictions are being made in the sense that behaviors of other characters (ismail, constantin) have in the past been defended and/or fans looked to find some deeper reason behind shitty behavior but the same regard isn't being given to Lou who hasn't actually done anything wrong

I don't know where druck is going with the character but currently, I don't feel like there is anything to hold against her and say she's a bad influence

when we see Lou, it is mainly when ismail is with constantin but it's not fair to use that as a sign that she is "bad," especially given the fact she is a new student who is making friends (tho said friends are questionable) and a lot of her behavior is like the instas minus the bullying

I feel like druck could be using Lou as a parallel to ismail in the sense of her hanging with constantin but she will diverge from ismail because I cannot see Lou putting up with bad behavior/ going along with everything constantin does. Lou also could be potentially used to show that there is a line. drinking and partying isn't necessarily a bad thing, only when done excessively (re constantin)

I think acting as if there are two sides ismail is between: the "bad" (Lou, constantin) and the "good" (sascha, ava, fatou) is reductive and not a good point to be making. I feel like ismail's true self is between the two and that does not mean "bad" = toxic ismail and "good" = authentic ismail. ismail LIKES going out and having fun, they just have been doing it at the expense of their other friendships

Hey y’all so I wanna talk abt some ships that I love/have some things to say!

MCSM:

Reggie x Romeo (Reggeo): MY COMFORT SHIP. MINE. NO ONE ELSES. I MADE IT. Like actually, there’s no trace of this ship before I started posting abt it. But in all seriousness, I really do enjoy this ship a lot. Maybe that’s bc I made it, but still. I love the idea of them being long lost lovers brought back together by The Blaze Rods who were given a fresh start, just like Romeo was. Reggie and Romeo raising the three bastards as their own is just 🤌

Aiden x Cassie (AidRose): yes I am friends with Zoomie, how did you know? All jokes aside, the ship is very cute and I think the dynamics work really well!

Maya x Jesse (Mayesse): AW THE SKRUNKLYS!! SKRUNKLES IN LOVE!! I really do like this ship even tho it doesn’t really make sense. It’s just cute, plain and simple :D

Axel x Gil (AxGil): no idea where this came from but *holds gently*

While I stand by the idea of Talia being a real person and Mischa truly being in love with her, the way these two play off of each other in the show is so cute. I see it more of them being best friends and slowly growing closer into something more :)

Constance x Jane (no ship name yet): it came to me in a dream. I’ve been having really vivid dreams lately. One of them involved these two being gay.

Knack:

Okay there’s only really two ships in this game and I don’t like either of them.

Ava x Lucas: not canon bc Ava is my gf /lh

Okay but on a real note, I’m just not super big on this ship. I feel like Ava views the boys as her brothers. Like the way her and Knack talk in the game RADIATES sibling energy. Also, she knows that Lucas likes her pretty early on (chapter four I believe??) and she never acted on it. Sure, she was still under Xander’s control basically, but even after she split from him she didn’t say anything to him abt his little crush. HELL, KNACK MAKES FUN OF HIM FOR IT!! MULTIPLE TIMES!!!

Ryder x Katrina: Katrina is purple meaning she’s aroace so she has no interest in anyone ever /hj

Okay but I genuinely think this ship is creepy. She has the most advanced security system ever just to keep Ryder OUT. I think that makes it pretty evident that she doesn’t like him.

Also Knack is aroace bc I’m aroace and I said so

Sally Face:

I don’t like any of the ships in this game other than Todd x Neil. That’s all I have to say. Sal x Larry shippers are on my DNI list too bc that’s incest 😍

Anyways that’s it! Not really much to say but I think it’s obvious where my alignment is with ships hehe
