things to do before the next school year 🫧
(if you haven’t already started..)
ORGANIZE : everything. even if your room is super tidy and clean, just look for those things you’ve been wanting to change about your room and CHANGE IT. if that means putting up little pictures or stickers on your walls, or if it means rearranging your books, makeup, clothes, WHATEVER IT IS! because (hopefully) when you take a step back and look at your room, you’ll feel productive and like you’ve made your space somewhere you want to be for hours on end.
DATES : try to mark down important dates that you know are in place within the next month. that way, you know of them, and you have time to prepare. whether those dates are personal, have to do with your work, or are school related. i also recommend doing countdowns on super important dates (ex: 1st day of school, big test, birthdays, etc.) on an app or on the bottom of your calendar ! because sometimes we lose track of time, and/or the concept of how many x amount of days is, so having that countdown to keep you prepared and in check helps.
APPS : this goes along with organize — but clear out your phone of any apps / photos / messages that you don’t need anymore ! for example, go through your screenshots folder and delete any useless screenshots (saying this because i take too many ss, personally) — and delete apps that are taking up space and are not being used daily, if not, weekly. same thing with messages / big media files that you sent +1yr ago. it’s good for keeping as much storage in your phone as possible, and to make you feel productive !
SELF - CARE : do as much de-stressing and self care before the start of the school year as POSSIBLE. no matter what grade or year you’re going into, it’s going to be somewhat stressful. self care includes : skincare, going through clothes, decluttering, picking out outfits for the first day, getting a haircut / getting your hair done, getting mani-pedi, long hot showers, doing your makeup / or practicing school makeup, + listening to music while relaxing. this will hopefully let you prepare even more for the school year, so that you look nice and presentable going in.
JOURNALING : even if you’re not into writing by hand, or writing at all; journaling all of your worries and things you’re excited about can help you release some anxiety. this will hopefully make it so you can let go of those stressers, and make you feel less tense overall!

Musings on Minimalism and Cluttercore
Disclaimer: I’m neither a practitioner of minimalism nor cluttercore. Please feel free to let me know if I’m getting it all wrong.
For the past five years or so I’ve been trying to reduce the amount of stuff I own. Moved house which is easier with less boxes, and if you have less stuff you need less space to put it all, which means a smaller -cheaper- apartment. So I also spend some time watching videos on minimalism, decluttering, KonMari, etc.
Second disclaimer: When I say “minimalism” I’m referring to “practical minimailsm”. Less stuff owned. Not aesthetic minimalism, plain colours, simple designs etc.
I never really liked aesthetic minimalism much personally, instead I adore the aesthetic of Ghibli movies. So a few days ago I stumbled across “cluttercore”, which also seems to be inspired by that. So, I thought, what would a minimalism cluttercore room look like? But ask google that and it’ll inform you they’re entirely opposing concepts. I only found a single article that sees some common point. https://minimumman.wordpress.com/2021/07/31/cluttercore-vs-minimalism/ If there’s any others, please share!
However I think that practical minimalism and aesthetic cluttercore have a lot in common, and are, indeed, compatible.
Firstly, a lot of the pictures I found for “cluttercore” are of small rooms. Often what looks like a teen bedroom: Which functions not just as a bedroom, but also as an office and a living room. So of course they’ll be a bit more full of stuff. Even if you don’t own a lot of stuff, you’ll need some for daily life. And if your whole life essentially happens in one room (as is the case for a lot of children/teens/young adults in their first student apartment) all that stuff will be there. Making it inherently look a bit more cluttered.
A lot of pictures you find searching for “minimalist” are of big empty rooms. If you count “space” as “stuff” too you could even argue that a tiny cluttered room is more minimalist than those huge empty rooms.
But you could probably also make a tiny room with lots of stuff look uncluttered by hiding it all in drawers and behind closed doors. However, one other point I often encountered in the minimalist videos is to actually use the stuff that you do have. Wear the clothes you own instead of having them hang at the back of the wardrobe, etc. So how does that apply to things like sentimental items, things that don’t have a direct “use”, but you still own? (Which some minimalists may tell you to throw out, but at least the videos I watched absolutely endorse keeping some of them.) I’d argue the way to get the most use out of the things you own would be to display them. See them every day. If it brings you joy, why hide it in a box?
Since cluttercore main focus isn’t a coherent design, like colour scheme, you also don’t have to buy specific things or redecorate to match that style. Just use the things you already have, or whatever you can thrift for cheap. This ties in with the ideas of sustainability, buying less, that a lot of minimalists also follow.
From what I gathered cluttercore mainly aims to show your personality, to create a room that tells a story about you. With sentimental items as decoration, or also things strewn about that you use daily. Which sounds like you could easily do that with few items as well. Both ideas make you think about the stuff you own and your relationship to it. Minimalism with the aim of getting rid of what you don’t need, cluttercore with the aim of highlighting the things that are important to you. So not only can you do both, they actually complement each other.
Maybe you don’t just want a room that shows your individuality, but actually like the “cluttered” aesthetic, while also not wanting to own a lot of stuff. Of course, with very little stuff you might not have a room looking the same as one filled with collections of toys, flowers, and other pretty things. But start with a wallpaper with a busy pattern, same for curtains, carpet/flooring, bedding, and any other large surfaces, and the room immediately looks more lively. Keep the book you’re reading on top of the nightstand and pens on top of the desk instead of in the drawers underneath, other things on open shelves instead of in boxes or behind closed doors, maybe even a wardrobe with a glass door. Adding pictures/posters to the walls or doors is technically adding stuff, but cmon, a bit of paper isn’t exactly a lot of physical mass. Boom, cluttercore aesthetic with minimal stuff.
Which a lot of the pictures I found actually seem to mostly be. Sure, there’s quite some purely decorative items or collections, but a lot of the visual clutter actually just comes from pictures and every day stuff being out in the open.
Last disclaimer: This is just random thoughts. I’m not here to judge anyone’s personal interior design tastes or anything. My walls are white and empty and my shelves full of books I haven’t read.

Start with the Kitchen
The kitchen is a busy room in the house, so it's no surprise that it can get pretty dirty quickly. To clean your kitchen, start by wiping down all surfaces, including the countertops, backsplash, appliances, and cabinets.
Remember to empty the fridge and give it a good cleaning as well! Once all the big pieces are taken care of, sweep and mop the floor.
Move on to the Bathrooms
Bathrooms are another area of the house that tends to get pretty grimy. Begin by scrubbing the toilets, sinks, and showers/bathtubs. If you have tile walls or floors in your bathroom, give them a good scrubbing. Once everything is nice and clean, sweep and mop the floor (or use a wet vacuum if you have one).
Dusting and Vacuuming
After you've tackled the significant areas of the house, it's time to move on to dusting and vacuuming. Start dusting all surfaces, including shelves, picture frames, ceiling fans, and baseboards. Once everything is wiped, vacuum all carpets and rugs. If you have hardwood floors, give them a good sweep and mopping.
A deep clean can do wonders for your home - not to mention your peace of mind! Following our recommendations, you'll be in a new and clean house.

Step Two: Gather Your Supplies
No cleaning project is complete without the proper supplies. Stock up on all the essentials—trash bags, dusting cloths, glass cleaner, etc.—before you start so you don't have to take frequent breaks to run out and buy more.
Step Three: Start with the Big Stuff
When it comes to spring cleaning, sometimes it's best to start with the big tasks and work your way down to the smaller ones. This could mean deep cleaning your carpets or decluttering your closets. By creating more significant projects, you'll make the most impactful changes to your space and give yourself a sense of accomplishment to motivate you to keep going.
Step Four: Don't Forget the Small Stuff
While the big stuff is important, remember the small details! Wiping down baseboards, dusting light fixtures, and scrubbing toilets might not make much difference, but trust us—they do! Taking care of the little things will help your home look and feel its best.

Avoiding Common Mistakes That Deter Rental Prospects
Crafting appealing and informative rental listings is crucial for attracting qualified tenants. But just as important is avoiding missteps that inadvertently deter prospects from an otherwise good listing. Steering clear of these common errors and optimizing listings can significantly improve leasing outcomes.
Invest in Quality Photos
Listings with dim, distorted, outdated or few photos immediately raise red flags for prospects around property condition and management quality. The old adage “a picture is worth a thousand words” is especially true in real estate. Investing in a quality camera, lighting equipment, editing software, and a photographer’s eye pays dividends for showcasing your rental in the best light.
Include multiple high-resolution interior and exterior photos covering living spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, amenities, curb appeal, neighborhood, etc. Photographing at different times of day utilizes ideal lighting. Professional quality photography brings listings to life.
Avoid Cluttered, Messy Photos
Even nicely staged rooms appear less appealing if clutter and messiness distracts viewers from seeing the space clearly. Before photographing, remove personal items, clear counters, make beds, open blinds, declutter anything that clutters the view. A few strategically styled decor pieces create a welcoming vibe but avoid chaotic spaces in images. Tidiness and cleanliness matter.
Describe Accurately Without Exaggeration
Stretching the truth or exaggerating a property’s merits, amenities or location often does more harm than good once prospects visit in person and see reality. Precision builds trust while embellishment risks disappointment. Focus listings on genuine merits and double check amenities are still functional as described. If a feature is dated but usable, say so.
Eliminate Any Typos or Grammatical Errors
Sloppy grammar or obvious typos diminish a listing’s professional polish and make details harder to digest quickly. Thoroughly proofread all listing copy or use tools like Grammarly to catch errors. Well-written, polished copy instills confidence in your diligence as an operator.
Improve Readability With Concise Sections
Online readers skim and scan listings deciding quickly whether to engage further. Dense paragraphs without visual structure deter complete reading. Use concise sections with descriptive headers like “Top Features” or “Local Conveniences.” Bullet points also cleanly summarize key details. Ample white space improves scannability.
Cut the Clutter - Omit Non-Essential Details
While being comprehensive is good, excessively long or wordy listings grow tiresome. Stick to details prospects truly care about—layout, bedrooms, bathrooms, amenities, policies, location perks, contact info. Leave out tangential information that dilutes the key selling points. Brevity improves shareability.
Optimize Listings for Mobile
With most tenants browsing listings on mobile, formatting for small screens is essential. Avoid tiny text, horizontally oriented images, and landscape layouts. Optimize for mobile with vertical stacking, big buttons, and tap-to-call links. Poor mobile rendering causes prospects to move on.
Prominently Display Price, Location, Bed/Bath
Important listing specs like asking rent, city location, and number of bedrooms/bathrooms should never be buried. This basic metadata helps prospects instantly gauge if a listing warrants closer look. Make sure key details are prominently visible above the fold on desktop and mobile.
Promptly Update Unavailable Units
Nothing deters prospects faster than touring or applying to an already leased unit. Promptly update MLS and syndicated listings if a rental becomes occupied. Calendar plugins allow automatically reflecting availability status when booked in your property management software.
Clarify Showing Instructions
Don’t make prospects guess how to schedule a tour. Provide contact info, showing hours, booking links or instructions on listing sites. If allowing instant online booking, make that clear. If prospects should call, list times you’re available. Remove friction from the showing process.
Standardize Listing Format
Inconsistent listings suggest disorganization to prospects. Standardize listing content across your portfolio using templates for better branding. Include the same sections, photos, amenities, neighborhood details, contact/showing info. Consistent completeness looks professional.
Avoiding common listing pitfalls takes extra effort but engages more prospects. Well-executed listings demonstrate competence and excellence that tenants value in a landlord. Refining your strategy around stellar listings moves quality applications faster.

101 : Manifesting the life you deserve
Interview yourself: what is your favorite colors? Do you prefer ice cream or cookie? Do you want to live on nature or in a big city? These mondains questions tends to be forgotten when we arrive to adulthood. You do should to a chinese portrait (yes, like the one you did in pre-school.) to start to know yourself. At the end of the day, you are alone with yourself, so its better to know you well. Do not hesitate to be really intimate; you will be surprise what you might discover. This is the good moment to review your past with a neutral mindset (if you need help, do not hesitate to ask for the help of the therapist.).
Boundaries: you have to know what you will tolerate, and what you will not. If you want to be a high-maintenance girl, be it. If you consider that someone late is someone that doesn't respect you, then spoke your voice. To have boundaries is respecting yourself and to know what you deserve.
Get a bujo: write you dreams, goals, visions of the future, etc. Plan you way to success by subdividing your goals in small steps and make them happen. You can have due time or plan to work on it 1h a day. It's doesn't have to be ultra fancy if you don't want it to be, its doesn't even have to be on paper! It supposes to be a tool to help you achieve your goal, so do what work best for you.
Moodboard: aka how to hack your brain. Create a moodboard with your dream life (try to cover differents aspects of your life like carrier, hobby, house, pets, look, food…) and use it as a wallpaper for everything: phone, computer… The idea is to see regularly your purpose to keep it in mind, even on subconscious level. At the end of the year, you will be surprise to see how many pictures became realists! As a personal anecdote, I did one on Pinterest dedicate to my dream job and I open it while I'm studying. Its always help me to be in good mood to work and to stay focus, sometimes its even inspire me for my assignment.
Declutter: that friend, that never root for you, that music that keep reminder your trauma, those clothes that doesn't suit you or even that family member that cross your boundaries again and again. Get ride of them, you need clear mind and space to achieve your deserve life.
Get the rights habits and routine: you can find ideas to create your routine on Pinterest and other social media. There is so many things you can do, and it might feel overwhelming. You should be smart and choose the one that fit your lifestyle: for example, if you have trouble to organise yourself, you can choose habits that will help you get organise. Habits and routine have to be personal or they don't work. And thats totally okay to change your routine if you feel the need.
Learn: books, podcast, videos… You have multiple ways to learn how to develop yourself. Be aware of sects, they can be really nasty, but you can really find interesting sources of knowledge. Read on what you want to learn about yourself. Another way to learn about yourself? Go to therapy.
Be selfish: nah, be selfish isn't about putting everyone away and stealing food from people. Being selfish is standing up for yourself. Being selfish is setting boundaries and make people respect your boundaries (or leave.). Being selfish is staying bright when everyone want you to be cynical and bitter. Being selfish is loving, caring and respecting yourself.

I love that curtain behind Eddie lol
Hey Nonnie
I adore that curtain behind Eddie - you know why - because its a modern chintz in a palm frond and (I think) Frangipani flower print.
Palm fronds are symbols of triumph and peace, there is a whole thing about them in relation to Christianity as a symbol of the triumph of the spirit over the flesh and Jesus’s triumphal arrival in Jerusalem - when people laid down palm fronds as Jesus road into the city on what we know as palm Sunday - the Sunday before Easter - and Easter is all about the resurrection! I can’t be the only one thinking about the parallels all that draws with Eddie!
The frangipani flower, also known as plumeria - when I looked up the meaning of these flowers I genuinely laughed out loud because their meaning (specifically for the white flowers) is the strength to withstand tough challenges, connecting with spirits and ghosts and Intense love and a lasting bond between two people. There is also the fact that in Mexican myth it is believed the Gods were born from the frangipani flowers. Also the plumeria plant is tough - it has to reach over 500 degrees before it will burn!!!
Put these meanings on a red background - a colour which is about passion, sexuality and energy (the drive to take action) and, well, its obvious really! All of this is so very pointedly about Eddie - it is him positioned in front of the curtain so the meaning should be applied to him specifically. This is Eddie - having his own resurrection, trying to establish peace, and all the other meanings I’ve written above
Then there is the fact that it is this quite loud chintz. that has me 👀👀
Chintz - especially red chintz and of this style was at the height of its popularity in the victorian home. Chintz is symbolic of the cluttered clashing patterned style that was common place during this period - a very OTT suffocating style This picture doesn’t show the curtains but if you look closely you will see so many clashing floral prints and if it was in colour it would clash further!)
So having that curtain is just so on point with the idea of Eddies family home being suffocating/stifling, that there were clashes growing up!
The other thing that is interesting about this - which is making me lol a bit is that, this period - when chintz brocade was big - it came after the age of enlightenment so its like this little thing in the background saying Eddie has been going through his own period of enlightenment and is now faced with this clutter that he needs to get through before he can get to the decluttered and much more elegant styles of the art nouveau and art deco eras of the 1920′s and 30′s - interestingly enough the period when we really being to see the rise of queer culture in major cities such as London LA or New York.
I mean the chintz aspect might be me taking the metaphors a bit too far, but they always choose the flowers etc so carefully on this show - Ana in magnolia (the dinosaur plant) the narcissus in Eddies kitchen and so many other examples that the use of palm fronds and Frangipani definelty means something and that something seems to me to be pointing very much at Queer Eddie - but maybe thats just me!

Big cleaning / decluttering list
Preperation/things you need:
- trash bags
- something to get rid of dust (swiffer or old makeup brush)
- gloves (if you have anything moldy or uncomfortable to touch stuff laying around)
- cleaning spray and sponge
- towel
- big bottle of water or other drink of choice
- snacks if you want
- boxes
- open a window to let in some fresh air and sunlight
- turn on some music or a podcast/tv show Only if it won’t distract you tho!
Planning:
First you have to ask yourself why your room is messy
Were you too depressed to clean?
Do you tire out easily?
Did you just not feel like it?
If you were too depressed, tired etc. you will most likely need a break while cleaning.
In this case leave room on your bed or another place you are comfortable at so you can sit or lay down to recharge.
If you were procrastinating because you didn’t feel like it / weren’t motivated to clean do the opposite.
Put everything on your bed / comfy place so you Can’t just sit down and do something else.
Reflect for yourself which you think is better for you.
Start with your Bed
-throw away any trash on the bed
- lay everything that was on it on the floor
- change your sheets and shake out your pillows + blanket
- (optional) spray scent on it like lavender
- find room for the stuff that was on your bed, if you can’t find a space put it in a box
Now you have to ways of approach
- Divide your room into sections
Way 1 (area focused):
Example:
Section 1 the chair with clothes on it
Section 2 Bed
Section 3 Corner with stuff
Etc.
- choose a section to start with. (I always start with my bed cause it gives the rest of the room a cleaner look and can be useful as a storage space later on)
If you get easily overwhelmed by choices like this go to a random number generator online and let that choose for you.
- take a picture of the section so you can compare it to after you’re done
- Alternatively you can record yourself cleaning in timelapse
- put on a timer of ~ 15-30 minutes and clean for that time.
If you have the forest app plant a tree :)
- throw away all trash in your sector
- put the stuff lying around on your bed so you can sort through it better (remember not to cover your whole bed if you’re prone to exhaustion)
- put everything that’s clutter where it belongs, if you don’t have a Place for it or need to clean that place first put it in a box
- (optional) vacuum that spot
this is your clean space now!
You won’t put any more clutter or trash in that sector, having a clean spot can help you feel better and allows you to step away from the chaos around you.
I used to sit in the clean corner of my room for hours before I started cleaning just so I could organize my thoughts in a clean environment.
This clean spot is also your proof that you can clean your room, even if it seems hard.
Repeat this for the other sectors.
Clothes
- throw them all on your bed
- sort them in clean and dirty
- fold the clean clothes and put them in your closet
-if your closet is messy that’s okay, just leave them on your bed for now
- put the dirty clothes in a hamper or wash them right now
- don’t forget to hydrate
Closet
- take out all not folded clothes and put the folded ones in
- either fold your clothes now or put them back in the closet in front of the folded ones to fold them later
Way 2 (full room):
I don’t use this a lot because it tends to overwhelm me
- throw away all trash in the room
- close all drawers and closet doors for a cleaner look
- make your bed
- pick up every piece of clothing and sort through it
- alternatively pick up every red item and sort through them
Then continue with another color
- put all clutter in a box
- vacuum
- slowly sort through all the clutter and decide between throwing away or putting it where it belongs
If you get tired that’s okay!
Put everything you’ve been sorting in a box and take a break. You can always continue tomorrow :)

2, 3 and 4 :)?
Thanks! :D
This one is from a Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries AU that I haven't talked about yet because it's still a mess in my head and I don't particularly care about the murders if I'm being honest, just about the setup they provide. So if this ever gets written, it's only going to be the emotional scenes with character development and barely anything on the actual crime solving.
2. What’s your favorite relationship in your story? Could be the main one, one your characters shares with a friend, etc.
My favorite relationship is between Griffin (the main character) and Bloom, who she takes in at the end of the first episode since Bloom has nowhere to go (or that's what she tells her) and isn't quite of age yet. I love the way they rely on each other since both of them are loners of their own doing because they're both convinced they are dangerous to the people around them and keep their distance to keep everyone else safe from themselves. It turns out that Griffin was friends with Bloom's dead parents and the relationship between the two of them helps Griffin come to terms with her past and her involvement in the events that killed Bloom's parents. Griffin helps Bloom break away from her fear of herself and learn more about herself and her abilities. They just really make each other's lives livable and much more and I love how they bring out so much positive change in the other.
3. If you had to direct a scene from your fic, what would you choose? Why? What would it look like? What techniques would you use to convey certain emotions? What would the set look like?
I think I'd pick the scene where Griffin's best friend - Faragonda - is brought in for questioning on suspicion of murder. I choose this scene because it brings out the most emotions from Faragonda. She's a warm person but she has a lot of trauma and hurt buried deep down and this scene brings all of that to the surface. Her private life and her emotional state are undergoing scrutiny by a person who's a stranger to her and by her best friend and she has things she would like to keep private from both of them. There's a big moment in the scene where feelings of hurt and pain between Griffin and Faragonda come out and there's a very tense feeling because that is a big reveal that they need to deal with to keep their friendship going but in the current moment they need to push it down in order to be able to prove Faragonda's innocence and there are these opposing impulses that are both aimed at saving their friendship in completely different ways. There's a lot of unwillingness on Faragonda's part to admit the truth even when she knows that not admitting it could get her in jail for murder and there's a lot of desperation on Griffin's part to help her friend only to be slapped in the face with how detrimental her past decisions have been to their friendship. On top of that, there's also the matter of them both a) mourning their shared friend that was killed, b) find the killer in order to honor their friend and find justice for her murder and c) shame that neither of them knows their dead friend well enough to be of more use to the investigation. It's a very emotional scene and one that speaks volumes of their characters and friendship.
Now I don't know much about directing but the scene would take place in a room for questioning and I would keep it as decluttered as possible. Only a table and chairs and the characters inside. Both as a way of leaving them nowhere to hide from the truth and so that there won't be anything to distract from the emotions that are taking place. Even their clothing would probably be an idea plainer than usual for that purpose. There will be, of course, fidgeting with any part of their outfits and avoidance of eye contact. I would mostly focus the camera on Griffin and Faragonda with enough time for the words that are said to sink in for both of them. There will only be quick shots of Valtor to remind that he is there both as an outsider to their friendship (something that will annoy Faragonda) and as the new variable that they desperately need to get out of the mess they've made (since left to their own devices, they managed to end up with suspicions of murder and bitterness between them). I could see Griffin standing while Faragonda and Valtor are sitting and towering over them as the one with the highest drive to get everything resolved (since she doesn't have any notions that are holding her back like the other two do). There's definitely a distance between her and Faragonda and it doesn't grow when the reveals happen but it's there to show the way they are stuck at a certain distance from each other thanks to their choices. Valtor is very much the one directing the conversation, though, and handling the impact that the confessions make on the two of them. That's all I can think of for now. I tried my best but you tell me if you'd hire me as a director. XD
4. What are your main character(s)’ motivations? What do you consider their main drivers?
Griffin's motivation in coming back to Magix City and solving crimes is to make up for her past mistakes. She's done some bad things that she can't make her peace with despite the long time that's passed (over 17 years) and she is trying to do the right thing now. Or at least that's what she tells herself. In fact, she is trying to run away from the overwhelming guilt she feels about her mother's death and she's trying to protect her father from herself because she's making him suffer with her inability to let go of that as she's still hunting for the killer over two decades later. She feels that if she finds out who murdered her mother and finds firm evidence of the motive, it would help her put the past to rest (and maybe feel less guilty).
The motivation of the other main character - Valtor - is actually a big twist so like MAJOR SPOILERS (I say like I'm confident this will definitely see the light of day and it might very well never see the light of day but still)). Valtor's main focus is finding a way out of the situation he's in where he's being blackmailed into working for the wrong side of the law. He did some things he shouldn't have (much like Griffin) and now they're being hung over his head by the big baddies and he needs to do what he's told which makes Griffin feel wildly betrayed when she learns about that in the last season. And I still haven't figured out what his cover-up motivation will be while he's hiding his true intentions because I haven't had time yet to consider all the characters individually while I'm piecing together the big picture.
There are several other characters who make appearances in almost every episode but I haven't yet figured out all of this AU so I'd rather not talk about them before I've decided what goes where.
Ask me fanfic questions

earth (mainly virgo) placement aesthetics starter pack:
(capricorns & taureans can likely relate to this too; unless they’re one of those goth aes capricorns or bubbly pink taureans - i find it varies. virgos will relate the most)
has one of these emojis in their bio/display name/etc: 🕊🏹🌿🍵☕☁
rose gold, gold, browns, super soft pinks & beige x100000000
always uses those soft grainy and slightly sparkly filters on everything
lace tank tops/bralettes and silk shorts. the go to spicy look
immense amounts of highlighter and clear lip gloss
always reblogs pictures of beds with white bedsheets.. probably HAS a bed with white bedsheets
dreams of having a minimalist decluttered apartment with way too many plants and lots of big windows
probably reblogs a lot of architecture & interior pictures
gold jewelry
secretly follows 894832 studyblrs/studygrams.. probably runs one
ig feed full of cafe pics; ig stories full of friends & study pics
overly tags & organizes everything on their social media (mainly virgos)
probably has multiple tumblrs/twitters/instagrams for their different aesthetics/content/etc (i find virgo placements are always most likely to have ridiculously organized social medias, to the point where they’ll have individual outlets for each specific interest) (this isn’t an aesthetic but i feel like it fits in this post)
pretty blog theme & about page & navigation page. no basic default themes for them almost ever
probably has a creative and cheesy name for their queue
probably ran a blog about a book (maybe show) they were obsessed with at one point in their life....................might still be doing that..book-nerd virgo aesthetic is real
sun, venus, rising, second house & midheaven will apply the most.
#mine#virgo#earth#capricorn#taurus#this was kind of a self roast#i change my aesthetic constantly but this is my timeless aesthetic tbfh#and EVERY virgo i meet is like this#esp the suns & ascendants & venusians#this is very short sorry#i kind of was thinking about making moodboards#for the signs.. but idk if yall are into that??#i used to be super into photoshop and colouring and such tho so moodboards..giffing.. its kinda right up my alley

another thing i found in my drafts from 2 julys ago....a reminder that i needed !
i’ve been feeling so down and BLAH lately and i was thinking abt how summer/fall 2019 was really the last time i felt super good and motivated and in a positive mentality. and a big part of that was a lot of little things i was doing a the time including documenting daily positives, even if it was a very small thing, and expressing gratitude in my journals and taking time to be present and notice things, moving with nature, letting light in, etc etc...
This is a reminder to myself and anyone else who needs it right now: Be present. Focus on the good. Where focus goes, energy flows. Peace and love, pals.

Ways To Enhance Your Home Wall Art
INTRODUCTION TO THE HOME WALL ART
You may believe that home wall art is the concluding beautification of your house. But we say wall art can transform the style of your entire house and hence it should be the top preference. From tacky to subtle, from celebratory to lounging, wall art can redefine your house’s vibe entirely. Moreover, choosing a wall art that matches your style is essential. From the wide spectrum of wall art, we have curated this informative guide to help you design the face of your wall, making your home a perfect place for cosy reading sessions, sleeping, partying, and a lot more.
HANGING HOME WALL ART
The nail-and-hammer method of hanging your favourite piece/s is the most popular and good old method. It is a convenient practice for your home wall art if you don't want to plan and invest in your wall embellishment with evolving trends. The pros of hanging art are, it looks decluttered and systemized. If you are planning a lot of wall artwork of similar magnitude, hanging makes it look sophisticated and neat. Hanging art suits well if the art is appealing and perfect in itself. But if the artwork demands additional pieces to complement with, leaning it against the wall is more favourable. Moreover, large-sized art can only be hanged. Unlike leaning wall art (which we are going to discuss further), hanging pieces just need a wall and that’s enough to call for the desired effect. So to create a worth-it upshot on your wall, plan every wall art carefully. Make sure each piece stands well with the wall.
LEANING WALL ART
There are a million ways to decorate your walls. But a cool and casual leaning artwork gives room for diversification and alteration. If your taste in art is expanding, you will want to consider the leaning display for your wall. Unlike hanging, leaning art offers you the ability to go wild and crazy with home wall art. The addition of leaning art can intensify simple bookshelves, empty furniture, bland outdoor kitchen or study space with a posh style. If you belong to a community of folks who wish to roll with the trend, the modish and creative leaning art is your best pick. Without the hassle of picking up the hammer, you can fill a lifeless space with charm and sophistication. Usually, this type of home wall art serves well on a meant-to-be surface. And the best part about leaning art is, it doesn't demand a specifically proportioned room space. Big or tiny, subtle leaning art of multiple dimensions can win the visitor’s heart. If you have an unoccupied cabinet surface or a piano surface, enhance it with pleasing wall art pieces.
LIGHTED WALL ART
What can be better than a beautifully lit art piece, right? Your favourite home wall art can make a huge difference when it is decorously placed under a light. As it won't have the same effect when it is bathed under the shadow. With proper lighting techniques, you can put your home wall art at the centre stage. Instead of placing the aesthetics first, choose the lights that highlight the art piece. We don't suggest using fluorescent lights, as they can negatively influence the originality of art by casting shadows. Whether inbuilt, an additional light fixture, the choice is yours. You can decorate the wall with lit art pieces or you can plant light fixtures catered for different light effects. The best tip to add sufficient light to the art is, ''focus on the art, and not on the light''.
METAL WALL ART
Every room in your house asks for beautiful home metal art that resonates with your style and personality. Spruce up the interiors of every room with something trending and indulging as metal wall art. Metal wall art is of great visual and creative interest. Instead of hanging paintings or pictures, you can beautify your interiors with specially customized home metal art. To suit the best, pick metal art that is not too tiny to go unnoticed. And not too large that it will pop out of the wall. Make sure your art doesn't overwhelm the interior space. If you have started renovating afresh, you can pair other decorative and furniture articles with the metal wall art. Otherwise, you can get something that resonates with the existing interior decoration. We, at Stylica design, offer customized metal wall art that will make your home stand out. MIRRORS
It's exciting to know how thoughtfully arranged mirrors do wonders to your house. It creates an illusion of depth while giving a lighter and more open look. It's your secret pocket-friendly weapon to amplify lights and add the missing drama. Mirrors are every decorator's favourite choice due to their multi-dimensional effect. When placed rightly, it mirrors the opposite side of the room, the front side of the room and the right and left sides of the room. From the pool of options, we suggest you pick mirrors that are unique and not traditionally rectangular. Let your choice of mirror reflect the shape and style of your room. Large, small, huge, rectangular, square, oval, circular, etc. are a few varieties of mirrors. We assure you, once you choose to go with the mirrors for home metal art there is no turning back.
WALL SIGNS
Once you have decided how you want to live, you can add wall signs and quotes to give the home wall art a special personal touch. The fun fact about wall signs that they can be made at home too. By adding wall signs, you are creating an artistic corner that reflects your personality and adds a statement.
FINAL THOUGHTS,
Factually speaking, home wall art was of the least importance. Not everyone considered having it, but not anymore! Home wall art adds decorative along with functionality. But that’s just history. No home deserves barren walls that reflect no meaning. We hope this guide inspires you to enhance home wall art. And don’t forget to choose the art that you love and enjoy every day. Someone in my study group came up with these tips for decluttering....
•*•*• 3rd January 2020 •*•*•
———————————————————————
I did a massive overhaul of my room just before Christmas. It hadn’t been de-cluttered in years. Before I did it, I had no clue where to start and I’d have a depression breakdown just sitting looking at the mess. I wish I had a before picture to show you all, so you could see the change! Here are my tips:
• Breathe. Pick a room you use often.
• Start with cupboards, drawers, boxes, etc. A big part of the problem for many of us is that we have no storage space left; it’s filled with clutter. You can’t tidy if your storage is full.
• Once that’s done, pick a corner and slowly make your way round the room, then moving in to the middle.
• LABEL bin bags and boxes, so you don’t have to go through them again to remember what’s in them; you’ll likely try to keep some of it again!
• Organise as you go. It’s easy to put away without organising, but that can be how we get ourselves into more clutter. If it helps, label shelves/drawers/cupboards, so you (and others) know where things go and it saves you time when tidying in future. Even without labels, dedicating storage to specific things helps stay tidy and organised.
• If something doesn’t fit in storage, but you want to keep it, choose something you’ve decided to keep that you can throw out/donate in its place to make room for it.
• Get kids involved. “Keep two, donate one”. Make it a game and teach them how it can help other kids. When they want something new, ask them if they know what they’ll donate in its place. Teach them they can enjoy things that don’t add to clutter.
• Be patient, but ruthless. If it hasn’t been used in 6 months and isn’t necessary, donate or throw out.
• If it’s not worth £20+, I’d recommend donating it instead of selling (especially clothes). If you try to sell something and it doesn’t sell within 2 - 4 weeks, donate.
• Take donations and “stuff to bin” away weekly, so it doesn’t pile up.
• Take a breather when you need it. If it’s getting too much, but you need to continue, maybe sit with a drink and a drawer/box/bag. Just slowly sort through it.
• Reward yourself in ways that don’t add to your clutter - day out, cinema, picnic, date night, etc.
• Keep a note of how many bags of things you donate and throw out, to show you how far you’ve come each day/week/month. Don’t buy new stationery for this, though 😛
• Find a tv series or music that gets you motivated or keeps you going!
• Don’t doubt yourself when choosing to get rid of something. It’s okay to want to keep stuff, but you need to be firm with yourself too.
Good luck and best wishes! I’m going to try to stick to these tips to keep my room tidy and organised now :)

I think they’re really useful tips, so she said I could share here!

solitary refinement
pandemic having surged to a degree that it has to be taken seriously, here are a few notes on ’getting by’ re my experience that may influence yours
i’ve taken to spraying Lysol all over the apt.. scrubbing things.. obviously washing hands often.. wear latex gloves when outside.. leave shoes out in the hall.. Vitamin C: macro-dose:: 1,000mg daily (supplemental), OJ, green juice, onions.. way I see it, putting powerful nutrients in body (organic fruits + veggies, ginger, garlic, onion, jalopenos, tumeric, apple cider vinegar, juices, tea, etc) creates an environment where even if some buggers get inside, the strong immune system overtakes them, devours them; they can't get a foothold and are flushed out.. also discovered some wild salmon cans at wegmans (lotta Omega 3) after a while of resisting facemasks, today someone sent me a video that tipped me over the edge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQuLk6VJvIQ&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR2MR_ELTpYwUVh5XZHFiIhCH_cTTnclCcoOU15SaZxdVxqHZGSSbXei23Q * it’s a robotic voice narrator -- feels like in a sci-fi movie watching it, still.. i biked over to the hardware store - where they were Sold Out of masks.. went across the street to a deli.. the clerk produced a ziplock bag of cheap masks.. I asked ‘how much?’ he said $2 each.. 😐 slid my card and got 5 for $10.. showed my neighbor the new masks in the hall - she said there’s a number to call to report ‘price gouging’ -- but, ‘choose your battles’, only so much time.. on my couch is a stack of books.. * from this stack time-to-time I pick up a book and read a while.. how many of these books can I get through #goals *also, cleansed away a big chunk of books (overstuffed shelves) (to book store they went - in a big bag with a ‘free’ sign #aptimprovementprojects #declutter) then of course there’s countless documentaries nowadays right at-the-ready * if you’ve yet to catch this series it’s quite insightful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydYLvFcfFHU sculpt slideshows.. -- here’s a recent one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dn7VfLAroCQ and painting 🎨 (pic of a new piece pictured below).. Prayer, reading the Bible, checking in with family and friends and church members online..
The trial reached a point where intentionality is necessary; focus on good health, patience, and victory. Blessings, Adamo
$2 each, thin but can double ‘em up:
spraying this here and there and over there and there and there:
swill down a tall glass of emergen-C daily -- plus fresh OJ and green juice and vitamins:
chop up onion and throw into stew, lotsa garlic too!
dark dessert:
spritz the keyboard, spritz the hands:
spice is nice -- good for circulation:
green juice, cleans the insides:
wild salmon:
lemon, peppers, ginger, avocado, Kefir:
read this, read that, grow the mind:
educational shows:
new painting:
