I know you can't exactly be the most serious on polling if you're creating a poll on tumblr but if you want some semblance of validity to your poll then I have 1 tip: Get rid of the "not Applicable/see results" option. If you want to actually have a somewhat accurate and useful poll that actually measures something then get rid of the "Not applicable/see results" options. Unless you are polling to see the difference between two groups then do not allow an option for the out group to vote on. Skewed results are bad results and letting people click a option that says "im not in this group" you automatically skew the results to be favorable towards the people not in the group you are polling. So again, get rid of the "not applicable" option. I don't care how much people want to be nosy and see the results, their nosiness should not outweigh accuracy. You should not purposefully allow your result to be skewed because there are nosy people who don't want to wait until the poll is over to see the results.

Hello everyone! With the poll on my main blog, many ppl have voted for a psd tutorial so here it is! Here are some things to note:

✦ ・ There is NO fixed way on making psds and this is simply my way of going through it.

✦ ・ this will be a in depth tutorial so it'll show u my whole process! Skip to step 3 for actual process.

✦ ・ there are other tutorials on tumblr that i def recommend! Such as @/canarysage and @/imbermagnvs

1. Lets get straight to the point! Choose the image(s) you want, i often make a moodboard first but thats optional and you can just choose ur image. (not sure if anyone needs this but to import or place images, press file -> open)

2. Next, make a folder by pressing the layer button (the 5th button the right based on my image)

3. Firstly, i use hue/saturation to make her a lil more vibrant so my colours can be more uhhh vibrant or vivid.

4. Now, every editors fav! Selective colour 💓 I'm not really good at explaining so pls visit canarysage to see what it is! It's good to tweak some colours without affecting the other colours.

5. I recommend adding more selective colours as i added few more but cuz of the limit i can't show u help but i recommend adding 2-3 anyways! This is the psd so far which seems okay but to me it doesn't pop out so I'll be adding on

7. So i decided to add hue/saturation w the same reason as point 3.

8. Next, i use vibrance to not oversaturate the image.

9. Now i use brightness and contrast, It’s often used for quick n straightforward edits to enhance visibility.

10. Let's add another hue/saturation layer cuz why not! Please remember to experiment w what u do since this is how you can have your own "style" of making ur edits.

10. Next, let's add levels! I recommend checking out canarysage since they explained it better than i ever could.

11. Now, another layer of selective colour

and tada! This is my psd so far but i love those psds that r bright so I'll add on but this is optional!

12. Now let's add a channel mixer to create some custom effects <3

And here's the psd outcome! You'd wanna save it as save as psd (i HIGHLY recommend you put ur psd on a 100x100 canvas w a pic so it doesn't take much space)

ANOTHER NOTE!! i always test my psd on dark skin characters afterwards and made adjustments when needed i realised my selective colours made em abit red so feel free to adjust if ur using this tutorial! If u made it this far drop a follow 😈

AITA for responding honestly on a poll?

Someone I follow but am not friends with recently made a poll that asked “What do you think of my writing?”

The options were something like. 1) Love it! 2) I like it/it’s alright 4) Hate it and I hate you and 5) Haven’t read it.

Now. I don’t follow this person for their writing, but I HAVE read it, and… in my personal opinion, it’s terrible. Absolutely not my taste and absolutely not up to my personal standards. I’m sure there’s plenty of reasons that other people enjoy it, but those reasons are not clear to me.

Anyway, I didn’t want to lie on the poll. Obviously I don’t hate the person who made it but I assumed the “and I hate you” was to be silly, like when people add an option on a poll thats like “No wtf thats weird” even though most people that chose that don’t think it’s weird. So either way I voted “I hate it” but if I actually was able to tell the person themselves I’d probably say more “It’s definitely not my thing” but that was the closest option. I felt a little bad because of the harsh wording but I didn’t think too much of it.

Anyway, a week goes by, they see the results. It was mostly “Never read it”s and “I love it”s with a good amount of “It’s alright” and just a small amount of “I hate it”. However, even though it was the lowest answer, they saw the amount of people who voted that (I think around 5% with a sizable sample size) and it completely devastated them.

They started going off about how rude it was and how shocked they were that so many of their followers hated them. They asked why people would even follow them if they hate them. I started panicking and sent them an anon or two explaining that I didn’t actually hate them, I just wasn’t into their writing and that was the closest answer given — they responded by saying “Just don’t vote then”. I thought it was a little ridiculous to make a poll asking what people thought of their writing but not want people to say anything negative — I understand not wanting constructive or negative criticism but they literally asked.

But I still feel really bad and I’m not sure if I should have just lied or ignored the poll altogether. Obviously I’m not the only one who voted that but still. Was I wrong?

sometimes w some of these designs i feel like i want the context of the rest of the series's characters as well tbh. like if that's their only Black character, then yeah them having straight hair or light eyes is weird. but if theres multiple Black characters w a diverse range of hair options then one of them having straightened hair or being light skinned etc would be less off. but then it makes me feel uncertain how to vote bc it's not like i AM voting for the design philosophy of the whole series, its just for one character. and while i know some of these enough to know that if the creators can depict a diverse representation of Black people i don't know that for all of them and it's not really the spirit of the poll anyway. like yeah, some Black people do have less textured hair or lighter skin...but i dont know if this character is the only Black person in this series! i dont know if this makes sense tbh its just something thats been stressing me a little

Desc - The nervous and anxious part of him was screaming that they were definitely going to crash the car and he was going to die, He always knew his mom would be the person to kill him, So this seems fitting.

He knew the next week would be filled with needles and medication, His heart constricted at the thought of another hospital visit. He wasn’t ready for this shit, He couldn’t do it again, He’s been there one too many times.

However he had remembered how almost over night he had been gifted with a jolt of power, The hot flames he could conjure had turned from a resilient red to a cool but powerful blue- And he had understood, These Human creatures gave his siblings power in life and inevitably gave it to Hades in death.

He had even had a few short conversations with them, Careful not to touch them as he hadn’t wanted to bring their life cycle to an untimely end. They had asked him for his name, Which he had simply given them a shake of the head- They didn’t need to know he was one of the very beings they left gifts for at the bottom of a mountain. When Hades had made the decision to return home, The life surrounding him made him feel almost uneasy- A small disciple had tugged on his cloak.

Hades had turned to view the small creature, His brow raised at the thing in front of him- The small human smiled and spoke “It's okay to not like the name your mother gave you, Many people don’t- I don’t.”

Desc; For Eddie Kaspbrak, The idea of presenting seemed to haunt him, Even in his dreams. Sure! It would be great if he presented as an alpha, And everyone he knew would see him as a strong independent man. However- Anyone who knew Eddie Kaspbrak knew that was most likely to never be the case.

People looked down at the 4’11 boy and thought ‘He’s already a fag, He’ll be an omega too.’

Explanations:

1. This one's more about normal earth animals but could feasibly mean other made up animals. Like, if your furry characters are anthro pokemon, their zoo would have regular pokemon (i.e. anthro pikachus looking at canon pikachus at the zoo). Only pick this if its the normal animal versions of your furry characters.

2. This option also includes like... galleries of normal bugs? i have no idea what those are called and i ran out of space anyway. Pick this ONLY if you wouldnt have fish, plant, and/or bug-based anthros. If you have fish anthros, you could drop the aquarium and still pick this, same with the others.

3. This is assuming your anthros are based on normal earth animals. You would also pick this if you had the opposite situation i guess, with an alien setting and regular earth animals.

4. Exactly what it says. Different from option 2 in that theyre exaggerated in some way, like horse sized beetles.

5. Im picturing the humans well cared for and not mistreated, but their enclosures are based on their natural habitats, like an office building or the alley behind a gas station. Also this is a joke answer dont take it too seriously.

6. This option is for a setting thats all or predominantly anthros based off one species. Think: everyone's a cat, the zoos can just have any animal that's not a cat.
