I’m partially clueless about him as well, BUT. I did start to read more comics and consuming him more from random tumblr posts, which is more than anything DC writers can say for themselves SO—-

It makes me want to scream whenever I think about how important physical touch is for Bruce and Cass. Their father-daughter relationship (they're father and daughter, don't fight me about this) is sustained through physical touch, mostly because neither of them know how to communicate through words. Both struggle with this, and not only does it put distance with others, it also has caused misunderstandings between them.

But things change when they express themselves through physical touch. The obvious example is Bruce's explanation about how fighting (physically) was the only way he could communicate with Cass when they were angry with each other.

But what really makes me go feral are the subtle yet tangible displays of affection. They touch when they are worried about each other, when they're proud or happy.

Physical touch is their love language!!

So I think Bruce is kind of wrong when he says that what reconciled them was the fight. Yes, maybe it was a necessary step, but to me, what truly reconciled them was this right here, the hug after the fight:

Cass says so herself (while still hugging Bruce), when she talks about her relationship with Cain (her biological father).

They're so precious to me, you don't understand. They're both so messed up (who isn't in that family?), but they have their own way of communicating and showing love and just thinking about it makes me want to cry.

things largely stay the same in gotham for a while, until cass shows up and decides she’s taking over from dick as batman. it takes some work to get dick on board but eventually he agrees.

so dick moves back to nyc, taking damian with him. and dick then has to learn how to be himself again, and actually process his grief as he slowly figures out how to live in a world without bruce. meanwhile damian has already learned how to be robin, and now he has to learn to also be a kid.

back in gotham it’s Oops! All College Kids! with cass as batman/the bat, tim as robin, and steph as batgirl. jason is less than thrilled about this and cass isn’t about to let him keep killing people, so he quickly becomes a major antagonist. all of them are also obviously grieving in the meantime.

I haven’t gotten much further than that, but I think there’s a lot of potential here.

Sometime around tomorrow I plan to make time to watch Caped Crusader and I wanna put this out here now. If this show has a good Harley Quinn with no connection to the Joker whatsoever (I'm talking past present and future), I will never say anything bad about Bruce Timm again. Ever. That is a guaranteed promise.

HOWEVER. There are rules. If at any point, Harley becomes associated with that clown fuck, this deal goes out the window. This goes for later seasons or spinoff material. Second rule is that if there is ANY BruceBabs content, I get to keep making fun of him for that specifically. That is all, thank you for your time.
