Marma1ade's Minecraft Skins

I decided to make a post for this because some of the skins have lore stuff attached, some of them I can MAKE lore attached, and some are just missing. Post under read more bc it gets long :P

FIRST! There are currently eight skins under the profile Marma1ade on namemc, despite marm having ten skins total on namemc and in videos (image ids in alt):

What I call the skins:

#8 is s1 Let's Play Marm, #7 is s2 Let's Play Blue Eyes Marm, #6 is Hardcore Marm, #4 is Mangrove Witch Marm, #5 is Pride Mangrove Marm, #3 and #1 are both Void-y Marm, and #2 has not appeared in any recordings that I know of but is named Fancy Blue Coat Marm. (very creative, I know sdlkfjadsf)

The missing skins are Mustache Marm, which I found on SadMilkman's namemc, that she wore during SBK's Milkman Tag minigame:

...and s2 Let's Play Purple Eyes/Chunklock Marm, which I got two screenshots of:

Most of the skins' lore can be found in videos, or it's irrelevant. But Purple Eyes Marm happened in chunklock first, where episode one was posted after Marm beat the ender dragon in her s2 LP world. The change was not in-video and was never mentioned by Marm herself, but she's had purple eyes ever since!

There could be lore implications behind this, but it's highly unlikely, even if Marm has made comments (in the tags/comments of posts she reblogs) that could be her hinting at making lore connections to her previous series- especially Let's Play s1, where her first base was in a mangrove swamp and overall she had a very magical theme to her builds.

Void-Y Marm only exists because something about the void and its magic changed HER magic, resulting in physical corruption, which gets worse with more exposure, apparently!

NOW, something notable about all of her skins is their common shared trait: SHE ALWAYS* HAS A FLOWER IN HER HAIR.

(*with the exception of s1 LP Marm, who has blue hair ties/ribbons and I THINK butterflies but I can't quite tell)

Marm's blue sweater skins all have cherry blossoms, but Mangrove Marm has orchids- because of the swamp, and those are the swamp flowers, and all that. Marm loves cherry trees, too, which is why she has cherry blossoms otherwise! It's a crown of flowers for all but Hardcore Marm, who just has them tucked behind her ear.

We've devolved mostly into headcanon territory now, but based off of Marm's comments on my previously shared headcanons as well as her eyes turning black from her void magic lore, I'm either really good at guessing what she's got going on or she's partially taking inspo from me. Either way I have a lot of fun with her character and I think she's great :D ANYWAYS!

There could possibly be lore about what flowers she has in her hair and how it relates to her series! Chunklock is, so far, the only series with flowers that don't match her main biome, but that's a miniseries with no real way to pick-and-choose a main biome to live in due to the way the mod works. In LP s2 and Hardcore, she lives in or directly next to (respectively) a cherry blossom biome, and as I mentioned two paragraphs ago, SBK Marm/Mangrove Marm has orchids because of the swamp.

If she does have cross-series lore about the mangrove magic, then lore-wise it could be that her flowers are a result of her magic reacting to her biome?

I finished literally every single video on her channel (75, full-length, 5 shorts) and this is what I decided to make today to get all my thoughts in order

FURTHER NOTES: s1 LP Marm has a slightly different hair texture, pants, shoes, and sweater than the rest of them. S1 LP and S2 LP Blue Eyes Marm both have a slightly different shade of blue for their sweater than the rest of them. S2 LP Purple Eyes Marm also has no cherry blossoms in her shoes, unlike S2 LP Blue Eyes Marm. She also has five non-series videos, which she uses whichever skin she happens to be already wearing for. She has five series, too!

AHHHHHHH YOU DON’T KNOW HOW ECSTATIC I AM THAT YOU ASKED FOR THIS ONE HEHE IT’S A RECENT WIP AND IT’S MAKING ME INSANE!!!!! the title of the song is actually “my boy builds coffins” by florence + the machine but i wanted reader to be the coffin builder so i changed it up :3

okay so BASICALLY the gist that i have set up rn is that suguru is a harp player and ofc it’s such an angelic instrument that brings ethereal joy to others… but two of his friends (haibara & riko) passed away in a tragic car accident on their way to his show… i think suguru genuinely almost loses his way and can’t even look at his harp anymore but his best friend satoru wants him to find his way again — so suguru finds a cottage to stay at while also trying to process his grief.

there he meets a coffin maker who he gets to know a bit and they try and help him through his grief (this reader i think will be very beloved to me in the future… they’re not like my normal brash loud silly readers… they’re a bit more subdued & have an air of calm & mystique that intrigues and entrances suguru!) this fic i think will be about two people bonding over grief and trying to overcome it the best way they can together… i’m actually really excited to write this fic and get more ideas about it so thank you so much lily for asking about it :’) i think this fic will be very near and dear to me and a lot more softer/bittersweet/morose yet hopefully filled w fondness & longing! i’ll try and get ideas to write abt this soon :’)

For the Next in Line AU, how often does Molly switch for her regular ghost form to her apprentice form, and is there an inbetween?

I uh, I was not expecting to get an ask about this AU (O_O') (tho feel free to send 'em if you have any other questions). Mostly because I get the feeling I gave too little information about it when I made that post. (In this situations, I either barf the whole plot, or I compress stuff so much that barely anything makes any sense at all. I tried for the middle ground, but I'm pretty sure I failed 😮‍💨🤷🏻‍♂️)

WARNING: I'm about to ramble, so some of the information might be a bit disjointed

Anyway, to answer your question:

On a daily basis after accepting The Chairman's offer (she has lessons to attend to, about stuff like the Ghost World's History and its laws, paranormal threats & imbalance and how to deal with them, etc. The Ruler position is no joke: they have to care for a lot of souls), with her soul going to the Ghost World while her body, which is a lot more self sufficient than in canon, goes to school. And no, there's no in between form.

But the tall fiery ghost you're (probably) thinking about is not Molly's apprentice form

This is Molly's apprentice form:

A white sheet (a special garment simply known as The White Sheet (I'm bad at coming up with names) which both let's everyone know the ghost wearing it is the potential future leader of the Ghost World, and keeps their actual identity a secret, preventing anyone from learning the pupil's identity unless they tell that person themselves (this is mostly to give them the option of having a private life afterlife). It also gives a boost to the apprentice's power, making it reach it's peak faster than it would've done naturally, but by no means increasing the amount of power per say, all while keeping said power from getting out of control by keeping the apprentice from accessing most of it. At least, until they overpower it, losing their pupil form as a consequence, but also gaining their leader form (which still hides their identity). Molly achieves this a lot sooner than what The Chairman anticipated (around a literal century), due to an incident involving a lot of flaming skeletons, a panicking swoopy haired boy, and a bony jerk (but this getting long enough as it is, so I'll talk about that in another occasion), and with it came an unforeseen issue. That being that you can't really fit more than around five souls inside the same living body without said body getting permanent sequels, and anything above ten will cause the body to straight up explode. Molly's soul is currently (as in, at the time they discover the issue) as potent as a hundred average human souls. Because it is her body, it has a built in resistance to her own intensity, but there's a limit to it. This means that Molly goes from having the option of splitting herself whenever she feels like it, to needing to remain separate for at least long enough for her body to recover from the strain that containing her own soul puts it through. Unless she's fine with incinerating herself from the inside out 😐🤷🏻‍♂️ (my train of thought has officially derailed. Wrre the hell was I?)

Ah right: nondescript lookin' ghost, covered with a white sheet, wearing three shackles (that drag them straight to their mentor if they go scare mode while in pupil form. They are training to be leader of the Ghost World, and they should be a role model, so they must have a good reason to do that unless they wanna get in trouble for abusing their (tentative (being a pupil, or even getting a leader form, doesn't guarantee becoming ruler. Lord Doom would know)) position), black, empty sockets with white lights for pupils, and no remarkable facial features.

YE I imagine prior to the RTDL events he was fine for the most part - maybe a pang of loneliness here and there cause I imagine he was alone for quite a long while - but never really had a connection strong enough with anyone that would warrant being anxious at the thought of being alone. In fact I imagine Magolor might have preferred being alone before.

But... then the epilogue - and the aftermath of betraying Kirby, someone who genuinely helped him out of goodwill. The betrayal was planned from the get-go, I imagine that Magolor, although not intentionally, did in fact form some form of connection with the puffball and his friends.

Though his own hubris and ambition did him in, and only when he was banished did the brutal realization hit him. He had someone who cared, he had someone who wanted him there, someone who genuinely saw him as a true friend - and yet discarded all of that aside for his own goal.

The isolation in the other world made him realize how truly, genuinely, alone he was. Because of his own doing. No one there to help, no one there to support him.

SO that aside - this is what probably led him to develop separation anxiety. Still, he does enjoy his privacy - knowing that now he has someone to fall back on (Inki in this case) and he's no longer on his lonesome completely. But the idea of being completely alone again, just like in the other world, terrifies him. Especially if the only company he has are the bizarre and unstable creatures there, and his own imagination, and memories of his final fight with Kirby.

but i did a lil concept of sorcerer!cyno!! i spent hours on the design but i had so much fun drawing it :D

some extra things about the design :

the lantern has multiple stars floatin around :] i remembered how you described the glow of the lantern was related with him stealing the stars and using it as light, so i thought it'd be a nice detail to add

the design initially had an extra long flowy cape to resemble the cyno from the manga, but i scrapped it because it shrouded the silhouette ( i dont mind doing a doodle of it if you're interested to see it heehoo)

wasn't sure if the jackal ears are included to his cape design in the fairytale fic, so i added his earrings from his jackal ears on to his own ears

he initially had a lot of silver to his attire, but it felt like it pulled focus away from his face - so i changed it to gold :]

i tried my best to have his outfit resemble both the in-game outfit and manga outfit, though it proved to be a challenge ;-; i hope that i did well ^^; i would do more concept sketches of the forest and what not, but my shrimp back cries in agony LMAO

anyways i hope you like this silly drawing thing, i might do more doodles, but yea :]]

Someday I would love to write a fic about what happens in the future, when Mark decides to quit YouTube and the egos, consequently, start to fade. Mark trying to move on with his life while acknowledging the responsibility he has with them, and Dark hating Mark all the more for this and trying so hard to hold onto what he's spent so many years building, and everyone else trying to go on as normal while waiting to die with bated breath.

Highlights would include:

Silver Shepherd dying first, because he's killed by a criminal he's trying to stop and never wakes up. He doesn't even make it back to the others and they can't find him before he fades.

The Googles not dying all at once. Plus and Chrome first, suddenly, destroying Oliver with survivor's guilt. Then Oliver later, with Google left as the only Google IRL unit once more, but all the more hollow for it. He'd be one of the last egos to die.

[suicide tw] Bim spending the whole time anxious, because he almost faded once as a new ego and remembers how terrible it was. When he finally starts to flicker, he kills himself rather than face the fade a second time. He does it with one of Wilford's guns, and it's the final piece that breaks Wilford's already-crumbling psyche. [/suicide tw]

Dark using the last of his strength as he fades to visit Mark at his home, haunting him like a tired, angry ghost.

Wilford as the last ego left, outliving the others by months, months he spends deteriorating in a crumbling building with no one left around him. When he finally fades, it is a mercy.

In turn, I think it'd be a nice counterpart to write the egos reuniting in some sort of afterlife. But that's if this angst fest ever sees the light of day aksjhfsdkjghk
