Episode Eight

“A Tale of Two Men”

“Yoh? Are you really doing this - now?”

“Keeping the truth from them feels wrong, Anna.”

“What truth?” asked Manta, confused.

“Yeah, Yoh. You’re kinda freaking me out a little.” nervously added HoroHoro.

“Should I even be here?” awkwardly asked Ryu. “This sounds like it’s between you guys and has nothing to do with me.”

“Yes - you should be here, Ryu.” sighed Yoh, reassuringly. “In fact, you belong here.”

“I do?” muttered Ryu, blinking. He then looked up at the ghostly apparition of Tokageroh beside him, who looked back at him awkwardly and gave him a crooked smile.

Yoh smiled nervously at all the faces staring in his direction waiting for answers. He quietly considered how seeing all his friends sitting calmly in a circle on the floor of his communal living room was a scene that was very familiar to him.

“Yoh - I can’t believe I’m saying this but - perhaps you should get Hao’s approval first?” scoffed Anna, rolling her eyes slightly.

“Ah, yeah.” breathed Yoh, scratching the back of his head. “I might be jumping the gun a little.”

At that moment, the elder Asakura brother entered the room followed by Tamao - she was gripping her Kokkuri board firmly under her arms. All noticed immediately her bruised face had miraculously been healed. She looked on nervously at the group in front of her. Hao gave her a sympathetic smile, knowing how she was not comfortable in larger social situations, especially with new faces. But then he noticed how all in the room had fallen silent and were looking directly at him.

“Okay, is someone going to tell me what the hell is going on?” asked Hao, raising an eyebrow. He locked his gaze upon his twin.

“Nii-chan, I think it’s time we tell the others about…” began Yoh, smiling a bit.

Hao paused. He then looked around the room at all of the confused faces looking back at him. He shared a silent look with Anna and then looked back at Yoh.

“Hm. Yes. Given the circumstances, I think that’s appropriate.” agreed Hao, he then took a few steps into the room and sat on the empty futon couch and gestured for Tamao to sit beside him.

Tokageroh looked on at the pink haired girl sitting down nervously on the couch and decided to speak up,

“Child, I apologise for my earlier unforgivable violent actions. I am relieved to see you looking well again.” said the bandit spirit apologetically, before bowing his head respectfully at Tamao.

Tamao blinked at the spirit who had just apologised to her and she quickly lifted her board and pointed it at Hao, hiding her face behind it as she began to spell out her response to him,

“Hao - told me - what - happened. And yes - I am - feeling - much better - now - Thank you.” patiently read out Hao, then giving Tamao a kind smile when she was finished.

Realising what the bandit’s words meant, Ryu found himself leaping towards the shy girl sitting on the couch and knelt directly in front of her. He grasped one of her hands in both of his.

“Beautiful fair maiden - please forgive me and these hands of mine that struck you - a real gentleman only uses his hands to bring his woman happiness as they build their Happy Place together.” pleaded Ryu, staring intensely at Tamao as he spoke.

Tamao froze and tensed up as her face flushed a bright red. She looked like she could just about burst from embarrassment.

The others felt the air in the room suddenly go bitterly cold.

“Uh… Ryu…?” shakily said Yoh, he watched helplessly as his twin brother suddenly had a fierce fire in his eyes as he locked his deathly livid expression on Ryu.

As Ryu turned to the fire wielding shaman sitting directly next to the girl whose hand he was holding, he momentarily felt his soul leave his body when he saw a pair of dark, cold eyes staring directly into his. Ryu immediately let go of Tamao’s fingers and he fell back onto the floor.

“Touch her again and I’ll sever the nerves in your body so badly you’ll never feel the delicate touch of a “woman” ever again.” angrily seethed Hao.

Tamao wrapped her arms tightly around her board and hid her face behind it.

“Oh my.” she squeaked, quietly.

Ryu remained frozen in fear on the spot on the floor. The others in the room exchanged fearful and nervous looks with one another. Anna rolled her eyes again and shook her head.

Yoh laughed nervously.

“I think we need to have a talk about your violent impulses, Nii-chan.” jokingly said Yoh.

Tamao peered around her board to look at Hao beside her, she smiled at him sheepishly.

Hao looked back at her with a devilish glint his eye.

“Still think I’m not dangerous?” he said softly to her with a charming smile.

I finished watching Shaman King 2021 yesterday! Some scattered thoughts on Episodes 38-52!

So much happened in this episode but absolutely everything has been wiped from my brain because WHAT is Marco's battle outfit —

I really need Team The Ren to win this fight!

Yoh finally gets to share his big news, lol

Man, the X-Laws' reveal was a big deal but again, it went at a 100 miles an hour so there wasn't much space/time to absorb everything... and I can't believe how huge that table has gotten, lol

Marco is. A dope.

Episode 40

For me, a Team Horohoro fan, this episode was... truly a lot. I want to know his full story (and despite what Yoh and Ren say, I know that they do, too). He was seriously amazing and guh, just such a fantastic character. I loves the kanji and etymology lesson from Hao, too.

I'm still kinda shocked that Yoh is back in the Shaman Fight as I thought that his being out of the game was a massive divergence that was going to set the series apart, but the way things have worked out is pretty cool!

And the Five Elemental warriors are gonna come from Gandhara, huh? Nice!

The new ending is GORGEOUS. Whoa whoa.

(Also, finally getting some closure for why Yoh has felt so off — poor chilled boy is so stressed.)

I think Marco is dead dead (unless he'll be revived?) and phew, the stuff with the X-Laws' satellite was cool! ALTHOUGH. I'm wondering what the heck they saw that made Hao so damn angry.

And now one of Manta's relatives is getting in on the action and trying to nab the Great Spirit PHEWWW

Jun having trained with Sati? Whoa! And having the mana to resurrect THREE people? When Faust could only do one? I have some questions, but I'm happy my girl is involved!

But since Anna has also mastered the Ultra Senji Ryakketsu, surely she should also be able to resurrect people?

This is so wild but it's exciting so I'll roll with it!

Episode 44

ANNA VS HAO and there are still so many secrets there? THE TENSION.

And then the coffee!! I'm so glad that Yohsen is somehow still around fjfjf

Though damn, Hao, you cheapskate: pay your damn bill!

Tao Ran and Tao Yúan on screen together, yahoo! (Flipping heck, I loved those moments when Ren was so embarrassed about his family cheering him on, lolol)

BUT BLOODY HELL THIS BATTLE. TBH I really want Team The Ren to win because I do feel that they've got Yoh outclassed... the Ren/Horo lightning/ice combo is just too good. Though wow, Horohoro is MAD.

Episode 45

I'm so close to the end and I'm so sad!

Phew, so we find out which elements the boyos are going to have! I was fully expecting Yoh to have fire, so I was super surprised that it'll be Lyserg instead. Joco with the 'Wind of Change' makes sense, as does Ren with lightning (though I'm surprised that this was an element over metal, tbh, especially since Ren made some comments about Yoh's mastery of metal where Spirit of Sword was concerned) and Horohoro with water. Yoh as the sturdy earth guy is good.

(I'm slightly angsty for Ryu... there wasn't much of an explanation from Sati and Gandhara about precisely why the Elemental Warriors had to be kiddos, apart from the established conversation about adults knowing their ceilings. I assume that there's a bit more detail in the manga.)

This fight against the rest of the world, though? Huh, dramatic! I'm a bit sketchy about the whole laser thing becaaause I thought that was spiritual energy that was fired at the island, but it couldn't have been if the whole world is aware of it? So I have questions!

Everyone chillding in the hot spring is so cute, good gracious.

Episode 46

Wow, show's over. Hao is the Shaman King.

HOW is this going to wrap up in a satisfying way when we still have another 8 Patch Officiants to get through djdjd the Lyserg OST hits so haaaard...

Waaaa the adults are having a barbecue and the kids are fighting for their lives and we are losing healers left and right and Opacho can read minds and there are still SO MANY REVELATIONS crikeyyyy

The tone changes are so odd to keep up with; one second, Redseb and Seyrarm are dying and the next, Kalim is bringing everyone dinner and the guys are taking a break to recover mana when it's been explicitly stated they have 15 hours to save the world! This is so whack to me.

WAIT I nearly missed that there was a ton of stuff after the credits and djhff Horohoro doesn't like his full name?

Episode 50

Oh man, the way Tamiko died was actually harrowing and then she's revealed to be Kororo and Ren's just like. Horohoro is now in dope mode we must ignore him fhfjjlfj

Ren has been taking on most of these fights and his battle against Nichrom was swift, but cool; I loved Joco vs Thalim though — and Thalim himself was adorable!

Episode 51

ALL THE ELEMENTAL SPIRITS VS HAO!

I'm weeping Shaman King is so special the whole thing is just WE WILL DEFEAT THE BADDIE WITH THE POWER OF LOVE.

Episode 52

I definitely cried during the last episode because parts of the ending were so beautiful; everyone coming together to show Hao that he could be saved — that salvation is in accepting your humanity and believing in the humanity of others. And I found Hao's mother's words so freaking soothing... I'm glad that Hao missing his mother was foreshadowed earlier, but we could have had more of that, I think.

And sure, they haven't fixed the world by 2007, but that is OKAY — most of them are around 22 and at that age, I was a wreck! So they have time and their lives to look forward to and... and I guess I disagree with the folks who say that the end of Shaman King is bad because they feel 'everything was pointless'; there's a lot to do and, even with guardian ghosts, shamans can't do everything alone.

I think this is an anime I could definitely rewatch, at some point. Wow. I love these characters and, as much as I griped about this, that and the other, I loved this story.

And I think it's so interesting that Yoh just. Didn't end up as the Shaman King djbdfh that;s definitely not what I was expecting!

hello! i’m here with a new story, i guess - or old? just something ive done for fun. it is a shaman king retelling - couple Yoh/Manta - Manta is ‘normal height’ but still the shortest. i wanted to see if i could draw Manta normal height, and in the outfits from the story.

Episode Seven (3)

“See Nii-chan, that wasn’t so bad, right?” laughed Yoh.

“It was somewhat entertaining.” replied Hao with a slight smirk.

“Entertaining?” repeated Manta, confused. “School isn’t supposed to be “fun”.”

“Oh - there were certainly some “fun” moments.” chuckled Hao, letting out an amused chortle at his little brother’s expense. A look of embarrassment flickered across Yoh’s face but he managed a small smile too.

The three school students walked side-by-side out of the Academy grounds surrounded by the rest of their fellow homeward bound students. For a brief moment, the twins both considered how ordinary and peaceful their day had been compared to recent events - and almost as though they could hear what the other was thinking once again, they locked eyes with one another and shared a silent exchange and a mirrored smile.

Suddenly, the twins simultaneously stopped in their tracks. Manta walked a few steps in front and then stopped too. Confused, he turned around and looked back at his identical friends - noticing how they both shared the exact same harrowed expression.

“Guys?” muttered Manta, alarmed.

“”Something’s wrong.”” echoed the twins. Without hesitation, they began to immediately sprint down the street. Not missing a beat, Manta hurried after them.

Moments later, Hao arrived home followed immediately by Yoh - they both froze for a moment as they observed the front door of the Onsen was wide open. As they bolted through the door, it was immediately obvious there had been an intruder when they discovered the contents of their home had been trashed.

“Tamao!? Opacho?!” frantically called Hao. He could hear Yoh calling for the girls too as he had made his way up the stairs to widen the search. Manta arrived moments later. He froze in the doorway when he witnessed the harrowing scene.

Hao ran through the house to the back communal living room. His blood ran cold when he discovered the injured pink haired shaman on the floor.

“Tamao!!” yelled Hao as he ran to her side. His eyes scanned her frame up and down before he leaned closer to her to examine her face. As he gently removed her hair from her eyes, a deep anger began to rise within him when he saw her bruised features.

Tamao opened her eyes at Hao’s touch and blinked, meeting his worried stare. Her eyes began to well up with tears. Hao carefully wrapped his arms under her tiny frame and he lifted her from the floor. He turned around and gently lowered her onto the neighbouring futon couch.

“Hao - I’m - I’m so sorry, he - he took Opacho!” cried Tamao. Hao’s eyes became white at her words.

“Who did? Who did this to you?!” seethed Hao. There was an unusual hint of hatred in his tone.

Yoh appeared in the doorway, he looked on solemnly at his worried sibling standing over Tamao.

“Nii-chan… Harasume… it’s gone.” sadly said Yoh, his tone hollow.

“What?” gasped Hao, looking up at his twin and locking eyes with him for a moment before looking back at Tamao’s injured face.

“He - he was wearing white, he had big hair…” whimpered Tamao, wincing slightly in pain as she spoke.

“”Wooden Sword Ryu.”” echoed the brothers.

Without hesitation, Hao stood up straight and sprinted to the doorway, brushing by his alarmed twin without a word.

“Hao - wait! I know what’s going to — “ hastily called Yoh, immediately following him to the Onsen front door. Hao hurriedly pushed past a startled Manta and made his way outside.

As Hao stepped outside, he froze in his tracks when he laid eyes on the one he was looking for - holding his weeping little girl under his arm.

“Opacho!” cried Hao - a moment later, he also noted how Ryu was grasping his brother’s prized sword in his other hand.

When Hao looked back at Ryu’s psychotic expression, he was instantly reminded of the face of someone else who had dared to threaten the child in his care - except this time, he could do something about it.

Yoh ran out of the house and saw the familiar scene playing out in front of him. He locked his eyes on Ryu and felt a lump in his throat to see his good friend reliving a horrendous scenario in front of his eyes. However, when he saw Opacho and Hao’s livid expression, he wasn’t entirely sure how things were going to play out this time around.

“Ryu…” sadly sighed Yoh.

Ryu smirked when he saw Yoh’s face appear.

“I came here looking for you,” began Ryu, locking his twisted expression on Yoh, “But this little thing here practically handed herself over to me as bait.”

Opacho began to cry louder.

“Hao-sama!” she sobbed.

“Harm a hair on her head and I’ll make you wish I had killed you when I’m through with you!” angrily roared Hao.

Yoh watched as Hao’s Spirit Ally appeared before him and began to change its radiant golden glow to red. Yoh leapt forward and grabbed his twin by the shoulder.

“Hao - wait!” desperately cried Yoh.

“I know he’s your friend Yoh - but I won’t let him hurt Opacho!” angrily snapped Hao.

“Friend? I am not your friend!” screamed Ryu. “I am after only one thing. Revenge against you - Amidamaru!”

The others often appear only a single time, really. At the end, there's a scene featuring Yoh and Anna at school that turns out to be quite romantic. There is also a part of five pages that is just text (which I couldn't read because my Japanese is too bad for that). Review: Many of the art styles are pretty close to the official Shaman King art style; there's also one that I find rather cute and fitting the romantic atmosphere between Yoh and Anna during the school scene (たかしま順 is the author of that one). All in all the doujinshi felt pretty close to the canon, and I enjoyed said school scene most, it's really cute! Ren was pissed. No, he was beyond pissed! 

Feet marched angrily to outside the abandoned building, walking past Ryu and Manta who had come to check -so he assumed- the X-Laws did their part of the deal. A deal that despite involving him, he had no part of it! 

That was just the tip of the iceberg of why Tao Ren was angry.

“Where is Yoh!?” he asked loudly, knowing that the other two were following him. Ren tightened his already closed fists. At the abandoned factory, he heard Manta respond and as soon as he did, Ren began walking faster.  The cold of a January evening hit his bare skin, it was a sharp cold but not enough to bother him. His body ached a little, still a bit numb from the sudden awaken from the dead (literally)...yet he kept walking.

He ignored Ryu telling him to wait. No he was not going to wait!

“ASAKURA!” he didn’t even use his name to call him, golden eyes scanned the abandoned factory in search for Yoh, his voice echoing in the place. Yoh was there, lying on the floor and Ren was too angry to even stop and wonder why he was like that. 

After he was done with him...he would be in a worse state!

Strong hands grabbed hold of Yoh’s white shirt and lifted the other boy from the floor “Why!?” he shook him once “Why must you keep sacrificing yourself for the sake of others?!”

First Matamune, now his dream...Yoh was driving him insane..! 

“Why do you keep putting others above yourself, why do you keep bringing yourself pain to save others?! To save me!” I thought we were past that, he didn’t say this out loud.

Ren was shaking from all the anger but that didn’t make him loosen his grip. The Tao moved and slammed the other boy against the nearest wall, ignoring both Bason and Amidamaru who told him to stop.

“Is this how you intend on forging your own path?! By giving up your dream?!”

Shaman King vs. Yu-Gi-Oh - What Yu-Gi-Oh did right

Shaman King was first broadcasted in US back in 2001, riding on the success of Yu-Gi-Oh franchise. Though the two series have many similarities, Shaman King was nowhere near as popular as Yu-Gi-Oh. While YGO had one spin-off after another, Shaman King only had a sequel Shaman King Flowers and a spin-off Shaman King Crimson in manga - and nothing in anime except for 2021 remake/reboot.

So, why isn’t Shaman King that successful? Here’s what YGO did right but Shaman King did not:

1) A balanced protagonist duo

Yugi Muto was a nice boy who wants to have friends. He found one in the spirit of the Millennium Puzzle, Yami Yugi/Pharaoh Atem. Unlike Yugi, Atem was more arrogant and can be merciless at time. Atem was also mysterious, with his real name and story not revealed until the last season, which kept the audience intrigued. 

But in Shaman King...

Yoh Asakura was a nice and lazy guy, nothing more. His reason to become Shaman King was so that he could live an easy life? Or was it family duty? Whatever it was, we are interested enough to care.

His spirit partner Amidamaru and his human friend Manta were also Mr. Nice Guy. Three Mr. Nice Guys = BORING.

2) A rival who does not overshadow the protagonist

Seto Kaiba was a well-written character. In each YGO spin-off, there’s an expy of Yugi and an expy of Kaiba as well. Cold, jealous, and (a little too) obsessed on beating Yugi in card games, Kaiba was mostly an antagonist though sometimes ally. He also had a story - in the past and present, but he’s not taking over the show. 

But in Shaman King...

Ren Tao was a blood knight that turned the whole show up-side-down. Well, actually, he was a kindhearted boy who was abused by his father. He was able to see his errors and redeem his wrongs. Compared to Yoh, he was a better fit as a main protagonist and as Shaman King. Unfortunately, he was not the main character. 

3) A love interest who can be nasty but for a reason

Anzu Masaki was Yugi’s childhood friend. She had her abusive moments towards Jonouchi and Honda, but that’s because they were being inappropriate, like lifting up her skirt. Yugi had a crush on her, but Anzu liked Yugi’s spirit partner Atem, who shipped Yugi and Anzu...spawned many fanfics. 

But in Shaman King...

Anna was mean. Period. She slapped Manta and punched Horohoro. Though I liked the 2021 version of Anna much more than 2001′s version, I find it very hard to understand why a nice guy like Yoh would be okay with Anna abusing everyone around him.

4) A beta couple who explains the plot

Wanna know why Blue-Eyes White Dragon meant so much to Kaiba? The answer: in their previous life, Blue-Eyes White Dragon was the spirit of Kaiba’s love interest, Kisara. It’s another story worthy to tune in where the origin of Kaiba vs. Yugi will be explained (come think of it, it has some Game of Thrones flavor to it). 

But in Shaman King...

Ren got married...to Iron Maiden Jeanne. They had a son. But how did they get there?

Either you are very interested but can’t find enough details or you just don’t care, but find the couple coming out of nowhere. 

5) The bad guys are punished for their wrongs

Pegasus was the big bad in the first story arc. He sealed Yugi’s grandfather’s soul to force Yugi to participate in Duelist Kingdom Tournament. Whatever his reason was, he lost and his Millennium Eye was taken from him - it was painful and traumatic. At least he didn’t kill anyone. Marik from the second arc had killed his father, but it was semi self-defense and in a moment of insanity. 

But in Shaman King...

Ren killed. Iron Maiden Jeanne killed. X-Laws killed. Hao killed. Fraust opened up Manta with a surgical knife...and all of them are forgiven? For those who shipped Jun Tao and Lee Pyron, let me tell you what happened: Tao family killed Lee Pyron so that he could be her Jiang Shi puppet. And oh yeah, per Anna, Lee Pyron was married. So that makes Jun Tao a homewrecker - and she and Lee Pyron live happily ever after?

6) A satisfying ending

Atem found his name and returned to the past. Yugi moved on to be a legendary duelist, a real King of Game (which is what Yu-Gi-Oh means in Japanese). Friendship and true meaning of winning are well defined. 

But in Shaman King...

Hao did all these bad stuff and he still won? He got to be Shaman King and decided not to wipe out humanity for the time being because his mom intervened? Okay, so what’s the point of this whole story? I’m lost.

So as for the rest of 2021 Shaman King episodes, I’m only going to watch the ones that feature Ren because I like this character. Nothing more. Sorry, I don’t think the remake is going to be any more successful than 2001 version.

A quick update; some more thoughts on Shaman King 2021 — and this time, it's Episodes 33-37!

Episode 33

The last instalment of Mt Osore La Voile and wow... I was just on the verge of weeping the whole time. It's so sweet to see the reciprocated feelings between Yoh and Anna (and the fact that Yoh was the one who doki'd first? 2001 made their relationship feel a bit one-sided, somehow) and this flashback makes it pretty clear that no, Yoh loves his bride-to-be a looot.

The revelation that Anna can read minds is one that I have to come to grips with because it raises questions about everything that's gone before; I think the lack of foreshadowing makes it a bit iffy but whatever, it just really illustrates how much of a powerhouse Anna is.

But damn — the origins of the 1080 beads and Yoh's necklace? My heart...

I love Matamune. I am so sad about what passed between him and Hao and how he holds it in his heart even now... I'm trying not to scroll through the Shaman King tag too much in order to avoid spoilers but sheesh, it's hard when I wanna reblog fanart! But yeah, I definitely love Matamune... sobs...

The ending poem really got to me. I loved the way it was sang.

Episode 34

HOROHORO REMAINS THE COOLEST

And that just makes it seem like I'm making a lousy joke but for reaaaalll, he's such a cool character — "I suck at math!" — and a good person, guh!

And his dad just being right there?? What??

(Glad to see Pirica finally getting some screen time; she was so much more prominent in 2001.)

And poor Ren being traumatised at the thought of being Sleeping Beauty'd good grief HIS EXPRESSIONS ARE TOO FUNNY

Ren: As far as I'm concerned, I owe you another one

Yoh: But if you died, how would I call in those favours?

SCREAMNS. YELLS. WHAT AN EXCELLENT DYNAMIC.

Episode 35

KOORI NO SEKAIIIII. Hyoutei intensifies!

Love the way Horohoro (the coolest) pulled off that combination attack — and I think it says a lot about his power that he flawlessly worked with strangers' spirits. Once again, he is just a top-notch kid.

Marco has issues, man. Why is he always hitting Lyserg fjgkfk MARCO STOP

And my first intro to Gandhara! They definitely have a presence! I can't wait to see more of them!

Ooft. I did wonder if the babies' dad might've been killed by Joco.

Mikihisa is still adopting everyone.

Episode 36

I saw a post that reflected that all of the past few episodes have taken place on the SAME DAY and wow, what a wild day it's turning out to be!!

I literally cannot believe my job is keeping me from watching more Shaman King right now SOBS

But bloody hell!!! Muntzer possessing Seyrarm the whole time? MY JAW DROPPED

Team Bleeding / Dying / Throwing Up showing up to save the day at the end OH MY HEART

Episode 37

Hao just. Hopped away. Just like that. We didn't even see him leave. He was just gone.

Wow... so everyone is gonna die and be reborn again to boost their mana, huh? Gandhara are pretty kind to be freaking healing everyone every 5 seconds (though! It wasn't explicitly stated that Yoh was healed by them so huh, maybe our boy did manage to heal himself after all).

Man, Joco losing his eyesight... his upgrade was seriously cool.

The Golem arc wrapped up a bit toooo quickly, but it was still good stuff! There was a lot of drama and it was nice (?) to see Lyserg work with the team... but I have to say that the X-Laws are freaking lenient to be letting him run off all the time, lol

And it's nice to have clarification that Anna can't read minds anymore!

Phew... Manta. It's hard to take the depth of his and Yoh's friendship that seriously because he spends so much time getting overwhelmed by the situation, complaining ("Why didn't Yoh tell ME about his past?") and just plain running away. The friendship has probably been one of the victims of the intense pace but... I know Manta is Yoh's first human friend, but the poignancy just doesn't feel like it's there, which is really sad.

And even Yoh is a bit of a funny one. I love him a lot but it feels like his values flip-flop depending on who he's talking to; his ideals seem to change according to what works for the narrative in that very moment. And then you have Anna (and occasionally Ryu or Ren or someone) giving a speech about why Yoh is so powerful, and sometimes it lands, but other times... boyo's values feel they lack conviction (probably because, "Everything will work out in the end."). And while that is SUPER understandable for a 14-year-old, it is a bit distracting for a protagonist...

So while I loved the Yoh of the flashback, I wish that I could really love the Yoh of the actual Shaman Fight...

I still have 10+ episodes left, so I hope I get hit with a wave of emotion!

Oh, and Lyserg has very Lelouch-like features. The chin!
