💙 Starbula Week Day 2: Music ❤️

I originally planned to write Nebula reacting to a playlist Peter made her but in the end I decided to make the playlist instead. :)

I tried keeping it 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s as I headcanon Peter, despite his now fully access to every song in existence, sticking to his familiar sounds. I still sprinkled some bands/songs in I could imagine him checking out that aren't his regular picks. For example I think he would be fond of Daft Punk, or more their musical movie Interstella 5555 because of the Alien-Musical-Setting.

It was actually quite the challenge for me imagine what type of music Peter may be into without getting too much influenced by my own taste or straight up coping the Awesome Mix' ^^;

But now enough of the TMI xD

About the Playlist:

The idea was Peter creating a Playlist with songs that mirror his feelings towards Nebula. Straight up sappy, multiple confession songs, songs about how she makes him feel and yeah, I may put in some h0rny stuff in too. We're still talking about Peter "Horndog" Jason Quill. Lol (Nine Inch Nails' Closer was a risky pick ngl)

I like to imagine that Peter left Nebula the playlist to tease her and make her blush, even if he couldn't see it while he was on earth. Nebula would listen to it whenever she misses him, wearing one of his shirts while going through all kinds of emotions. Peter got her a smartphone with spotify installed so she could always listen to his newest additions. For Nebula it's actually so overwhelming but it makes her feel special. Knowing one of Peter's favorite things is music, knowing he thinks about her while listen to those songs may actually made her tear up, even the sappy ones.

Everytime Peter comes back he will ask Nebula if she'd listen to the new song on the playlist and he may go in an explanation rush what made him pick that one. What makes Nebula feeling loved even more.

Murderface is such an ODD fellow because wtf is he even doing half of the time? Like, he's constantly doing some kind of half-B-plot shit.

During "Trollklok", we get Murderface on the phone with someone who he is constantly talking to, asking questions, getting gossip from, like he is just being messy with this person on the phone. He's also clearly comfortable with them as well, so this is obviously a friend of his. Also, he has so many voicemails to listen to. WHO IS SENDING HIM VOICEMAILS? ARE THEY OTHER FRIENDS? ARE THEY VOICEMAILS FROM PEOPLE TRYING TO TALK TO HIM WHILE HE'S ON THE PHONE WITH ANOTHER FRIENDS?

During the special feature video, "Murderface goes to the Opera" he's just AT THE OPERA! Sometimes the special features add some extra content or context for specific videos but I don't see which episode this one would compliment. I could make a stretch and say it would compliment "Dethlessons" because the feature is in the same venue as Toki's rehearsal and it goes along with "Learning how to be a dick" that Murderface is teaching in the episode but it's a stretch. BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT! THE POINT IS WHY IS MURDERFACE BY HIMSELF AT AN OPERA???? DOES HE JUST WATCH OPERAS? DOES HE ENJOY THEM? IS THIS A PAST TIME FOR HIM? WHY IS HE BY HIMSELF? Also, one of the conversations he's having in the special sounds like he's talking to another friend. WHO IS THIS FRIEND?

In an interview, Murderface talks about buying a rare and historical piece to destroy, but before he does, he goes into great detail of the piece and why it's rare. Like, HE KNOWS HIS HISTORY BUT SOMETIMES, LIKES IN THE COMICS ABOUT THE CIVIL WAR, HE KNOWS JACK SHIT?! WHY AND WHEN DID HE GAIN ALL THIS KNOWLEDGE?

In "Prankklok", Murderface talks about how's he apart of a hedonist club. HOW LONG HAS HE BEEN APART OF THIS CLUB? WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? ARE THESE PEOPLE HIS FRIENDS? HE'S ALSO DOING A REINACTMENT WITH THEM, WHICH ARE EXTENSIVE AND TIME CONSUMING!!! WHO IS THIS MAN?

In "Dethvanity", he's on the phone with his own BUSINESS MANAGER? A SEPERATE PERSON FROM CHARLES? DO THE OTHER GUYS HAVE BUSINESS MANAGERS? HE ALSO LOVES SCENTED CANDLES AND WAS OUT BUYING THEM BY HIMSELF? WAS THIS MAN JUST PURUSING BATH AND BODY WORKS?

In "Fanklok", he SOMEHOW gets on the cover of "Smokaroonie Aficionado" for smoking, EVEN THOUGH HIS CHARACTER IS NOT KNOWN TO SMOKE A LOT, SO IS HOMIE JUST LIGHTING IT UP IN THE BACKGROUND OR DID HE PAY SOMEONE TO GET ON THE MAGAZINE?

There more instances but these are the few I can remember. HE'S JUST DOING SHIT!

I've been obsessed with the fact that the sequel confirmed that Arthur is, in fact, a heart on his sleeves kind of hopeless romantic, and that he would 100% dedicate himself to a tragic degree to his partner if he managed to find someone that showed him even just a minute sense of kindness.

To think that Lee (someone who didn't deserve Arthur's attention at all in my opinion, given her motives were clearly superficial the whole time) only gave him a small amount of attention for a little while, and to see that sweet look on his face towards the end when he realized that she was telling him that she doesn't love him for who he is, but just for who she thought he was, and to see him get that maddening mind-numbingly sweet look on his features as he cracks open a smile as he whispers "i can't live without you"-just from a little bit of kindness from this woman, who only gave him that attention for only a couple of islands of seconds only every now and then, and to have that kind of passion!

I'm obsessed with the idea that he actually is this wretched hopeless romantic that would completely devote his life to any partner or a family the second that he got the chance, and whether it was intended or not, it seemed to suggest that it was both genders, and that his heart is truly on his sleeve for almost anyone. Absolutely morbidly sweet and heart-wrenching all at the same time, it absolutely kills me how sweet Arthur is.

What a relief to know that all of the deranged headcanons that fans used to write on here all the time are 100% correct, and that he's exactly the man that we thought he was, LOL

I honestly think you have to be a certain type of person to appreciate Arthur's singing in these songs. There's a certain kind of intentionally horribly sung tormented to it, it's not meant to be something that sounds good, but rather something to be felt. Someone on Reddit mentioned that you have to have a certain kind of level of either torment or compassion in order to understand where this singing is coming from, and as someone that truly feels the pain that the acting is attempting to project, I completely know what they mean.

It's not meant to sound pretty, that's the point. I've never heard anything more satisfying or chilling or beautiful in my life, not because it sounds good, but because it doesn't. The breaking in tone, the horribly high sung pitches, the emotion in his voice for his tone wobbles, it's absolutely chillingly beautiful far more than any perfectly song pop star could ever be. It's authentic and raw, it literally paralyzes me with emotion listening to it. I haven't been touched by anyone singing in so long I forgot what it even felt like to actually be touched by anyone's singing that wasn't just empty aggravation.

How did the Joker movie become so misconstrued? Never did I watch it and think it was some “sigma male” relatable film. The movie makes me sad and is genuinely heartbreaking. The whole thing is just about how Arthur has been so hurt by everyone in his life and him just losing his mind. Genuinely how did people start labeling it as some power move sigma male movie about getting revenge?
