Mirepoix: A Syd/Rich/Carmy fic

Carmy fishes his lighter out of his pocket and lights his cigarette with trembling hands. Jesus, he’s shaking like his neighbor’s geriatric chihuahua. Get it together, Berzatto. He takes a long drag, focuses on the smoke filling his lungs, the chill in the air, the vague gray swirl of clouds in the sky—anything other than Sydney and Richie in the basement, talking, laughing, naked, sweaty, fucking— “Richie talk to you about movie night?” Syd asks. Carmy nearly chokes, cigarette smoke spewing out of his nose. He hacks a cough into his elbow and stands up ramrod-straight. “Uh, yeah, he did.” “You wanna come?”

bitch on wheels by somethingdifferent - the first sydrichie fic ever posted. an instant classic. absolutely delicious hatesex from syd's POV, set during season 1.

get bent by somethingdifferent - sequel to bitch on wheels, from richie's POV. syd and richie start a frenemies-with-benefits situation.

bone broth by openhearts - richie and sydney run into each other while grocery shopping and she comes over to his place to help him make bone broth. the perfect amount of fluff and banter. warms the soul like a good cup of bone broth would!

hands by doubleapple - set during the renovation in season 2. she and richie are at the restaurant alone... we all know how that ends! ;) great banter, great smut, and great syd POV!

what kind of day has it been by gagewhitney - richie and sydney go for drinks after friends and family night, bond over their gripes with carmy, discuss the ass-stabbing incident, flirt a little, and things escalate from there... it's so in-character and feels very real and organic!!

strike a match series by roofpizza - established relationship. fluffy goodness, some light angst, and great characterizations. i especially love the third in the series--here's to sydrichie fics that include eva!

tenderizer by themasterletters - easter dinner with the bear found family, where sydney thinks nobody knows she and richie are sleeping together but by the end of it... well, you'll have to read and find out! this dialogue in this is SO in-character that I can hear all the character's voices in my head!!! originally posted as a one-shot but now a WIP!

dinner, minus the diatribes by anonymous - suuuper deliciously slow burn series. it's still a WIP but I highly recommend reading it! update: now complete!

homecoming by avocadomoon - established relationship/secret relationship. richie picks sydney up from the airport. really great characterizations and dialogue (their interaction about baked oats is fucking hilarious)!!! and btw for my star trek peeps, avocadomoon has some FANTASTIC trip/t'pol fics!

maillard reaction by naomignome - big angst warning (major character death), but this is SOOOO good. ugh. richie and sydney start sleeping together in the wake of their grief and it morphs into something more meaningful.

taking the L by shewalksoverme - great smutty little one-shot. the line “Guessing nobody’s done that in a long time. That feel good, baby, huh?” lives in my mind RENT FREE

confit by pure_anon - sydney realizing she has feelings for richie. love love love this one. great syd POV.

after hours by bakerstreetowl - not strictly sydrichie (it's syd/richie/carmy) but this and the entire on the line series is deliciously complicated and hot as fuck. super messy richie/sydney/carmy in the best way possible.

in a new light by thedastardly - i re-read this practically twice a week. i fucking love this fic. perfect pacing, fantastic characterizations, great smut, idiots-to-lovers goodness.

something's in my mind (and i'm focused on you) by anniebibananie - richie asks sydney to be his plus one to tiff's wedding. so, so sweet. a sydrichie fic that includes slow dancing and cute eva moments? hell yes.

slow show series by scenedenial - AU where carmy and syd are engaged and carmy breaks up with her last minute. she decides to go to her bachelorette party in vegas anyway. richie works at the club where they have the party, and... just trust me, read it. the first fic in the series is complete, the second is a WIP.

scenedenial also has you never use words you can't afford, which is season 1-era sydrichie praise kink smut, and i would shovel the worms that inhabit your brain, which is a mind-meltingly hot syd/richie/carmy fic.

Baked Alaska by elwingen - sydney makes a baked alaska with eva and richie helps. so sweet.

Burning at Both Ends by anonymous - idk maybe it's because i went to catholic school for nine years but there's something so ridiculously unhinged about talking dirty in a confessional and i am so here for it
