🔶️Important info: Please be gentle. I use agere to cope with several traumas. It can be involuntary.

I can sometimes experience verbal shutdown while in tiny space.

I like things that are familiar, so I tend to repeat media such as songs, movies, and television shows. I get very uncomfortable when my patterns are broken.

I do not use certain terms that may be commonly used in agere (for personal reasons, but it doesn’t bother me if others do.) Examples: Instead of “littlespace” I prefer “small space”; Instead of “paci” I prefer “binky/bink”. I do not use caregiver terms such as “mommy/mama” or “daddy/dada”. I don’t even use the term “caregiver” too often; I prefer “guardian” or "Bubby" but I may use "cg" as an easier way for others to understand.

Ur agere Davybaby headcannons making me realize I do that shit too… I ended up looking into what age regression actually was in like medical terms and in the community and stuff and I can’t believe Davy Jones headcannons are what made me realize…

In honor of this (I guess) I’m gonna give you some Transmasc Davy Agere thoughts.

Davy doing agere in a subconscious attempt to relive the boyhood he was denied growing up as a little girl. The Monkees canonical matching race car sheets is because Davy kept getting excited about them when he saw them in the department stores but he was too embarrassed to admit he wanted race car seats so the other guys got race car sheets and Davy was like “well it’d be weird if all of you had them and I didn’t so I guess I’ve gotta get some now!”

The other monkees sharing things they did as a kid and relating over classic like 9 year old boy things to do (like digging up worms and stuff) making Davy think about how he wasn’t allowed to play in the dirt cause he had to keep his dresses clean and then trying to convince the guys that he wants to those things but for *them* so *they* can relive their fond childhood memories and then when they start doing the things they enjoyed as kids they still like it but Davy is just ecstatic about it so whenever he suggests it they still go and play with him because he’s just so cute when he gets that happy. Whenever it rains Davy still picks up the worms he sees on the sidewalks and drops them in the dirt. Davy still falls asleep on long car drives and has to get carried in the house.

Davy has a collection of toys and when he’s alone he’ll play out little scenes with them. Davy will go outside and play in the sand for hours and then when the other monkees go out to see what he was doing he had dug out little ‘canyons’ for his toys and some of them are still left in the mounds of sand so they pick them up and take them inside (rinsing off the sand) and put them in Davys toybox (which Davy refuses to call a toybox because he’s an adult and those obviously aren’t toys they’re…something else)

Also Davy has opinions about play structures which he doesn’t realize is strange but Micky really likes getting his honest reviews on every single play structure they see. I have more thoughts but this has been enough projecting onto characters for one evening.

(And while I have your attention, ur fanfic is great and so enjoyable. Very tasting king, never stop 💛)

Despite popular belief, The Monkees is a very educational show 🤭🫡

And I was thinking along these lines last night omg you extracted from my brain!

He always gets super jealous when the guys are reminiscing their childhoods and all the things they were allowed to do that he wasn’t. He always tries to play along because he’s embarrassed to admit he never did those things. One or more of the guys will pick up on that and explain a story in way too much detail for Davy’s benefit so that he can pick up on all the little things he missed. Then when they go out to relive it, Davy knows what’s up.

Davy would sometimes hate regressing because it’s not ‘manly’ enough and it would make him insecure. He pushes himself to his limits every day to come across as masculine even though he has nothing to prove. Being the odd one out in a house of cis men has made him develop a bit of toxic masculinity around himself. Sometimes he pushes himself that bit too far and breaks. The guys have to nudge him into that headspace to help him.

Davy has lots of ‘boy’ toys but he also has a small collection of ‘girl’ toys that he used to have as a kid because despite everything, they’re a comfort. He keeps those well hidden and never lets them out of his room. (The guys have all seen them and don’t really care but they know Davy cares).

Davy never grew up with toy cars or learning mechanics and stuff like that since (it’s the 60’s) that’s a ‘man’s job’. Because of this he’s completely clueless on car models, parts, repairs, etc so Micky will get him toy cars and explain the different parts to him in a kid friendly way. (He can only teach Davy these things while he’s little so it doesn’t seem condescending). Micky is the first to get the race car sheets because ‘I always loved cars!’ Then Mike because ‘well the Monkeemoblie is my baby and this is almost the same’ then peters like ‘hey Davy we should match them!’ Because Peter knows he has to verbally ask Davy and make it seem like his idea so Davy will agree. (He’ll be like ‘urgg whatever peter sure’ then turn away and be like ‘YES’)

Hiyo! We're Mystic-Wolfs, which is our preferred online collective/system name, nice to meet you ^^

Why we? We are a DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) System, which in very simple terms means we did not have an easy life and it caused our consciousness to not fully form so there is more than one living in the body, so we refer to ourselves with plural vocabulary since it feels more natural.

How to adress us? Please address us by our collective name if you mean us as a system, or the name you see the post signed off with if you talk/mean to the person directly. Otherwise, we use She/They pronouns on a system level (until stated otherwise!).

What else is there to know? We are an adult, at least bodily, are Autistic, have a bunch of psychiatric and other medical disorders/illnesses, are disabled. We are also survivors. hi! can I ask how does one id which age they regress to? If I like rattles and baby toys does that mean I regress to infant stage ? how do I know if mine is voluntary or involuntary? I feel like it just happens sometimes and I don’t know if I can exactly make myself? unsure.. how do I know if it’s age dreaming or age regression? I rather the term agere… thank u!

If labels stress you out, please don't feel forced to use them 💛

Everyones regression is different and everyone experiences it their own way. It can often be hard to pinpoint an exact age when we're regressed, and that's okay. Maybe you like infant things like rattles and crinkle toys, but you also like to color like a toddler at the same time. You don't have to pick an age and stick to it!!

As for dreaming vs regression, dreaming has a more grounded feel to it. You're still finding comfort in regression activities, but you arent in the headspace of a child; while regression can be (emphasis on "can be," it's different for everyone) more debilitating, and can make you feel mentally like a child.

If you're struggling to understand whether your regression is voluntary or not, then it's probably involuntary. That said, I am NOT a licensed psychologist and I can't diagnose you with anything, let alone involuntary regression.

Again, you don't HAVE to pick a label if you don't want to. You can live your best baby life and not worry about any of that, lol. If your coping mechanism becomes stressful, then it's not a healthy coping mechanism!!

💛- How did they discover age regression?

Andrew was the first to discover it through Bee. She suggested it later into Andrew's college years as a way to work through his childhood trauma. At the time I believe Andrew would not have felt comfortable regressing especially since he didn't have anyone he knew to regress with or around that he trusted like that. Next would be Neil, who either found out through Andrew or the internet for the same reason as Andrew and took to it a lot faster. The first time he regressed would be with Andrew and he would have to take it super slow, but as he got comfortable in the headspace his regression became involuntary so he switched to having multiple caregivers including Andrew, Matt, and even Wymack! Kevin would be the last even of the Foxes because he isn't the type to accept help and he would definitely assume age regression was something else and not want to be involved. He would probably become interested after seeing Andrew regress with Neil and sort of come to terms with it being a safe thing and start wanting that for himself. He would regress alone probably just to see if he liked it and then realize quickly he liked having playmates.

📈- Age range?

For Neil, usually from infancy to about 10. Sometimes he feels a little bigger but he doesn't enjoy regressing to a middlespace because it just reminds him of being on the run.

For Andrew, 4-8. He never gets very old and often is a young but independent little.

For Kevin, 6-12. When he's with Jean and Jeremy sometimes he feels especially young, sometimes baby aged, but with his playmates he's usually 8 or 9 or 10-12 with Andrew and Neil, because those are his baby brothers

For Neil, it started voluntary and quickly became involuntary. For Andrew, voluntary, with a few rare instances of involuntary regression where he immediately asks to go to either Neil or Bee. Kevin regresses voluntarily! 🃏- Random headcanon about their regression!

Neil loves stuffed animals. He loves playing with them, holding them, cuddling with them, and chewing on their ears instead of his paci.

Andrew likes watching Animal Planet. When something scary happens Neil covers his eyes.

Kevin has a lisp when he's small! He practices reading out loud to get rid of it, but everyone thinks it is adorable.

What is age regression:

Aside from the definition I wrote below. I have attached links to videos and articles explaining what age regression is.

Age regression is never sexual. It is a coping mechanism and a defense mechanism that is used often by people who have anxiety, depression and trauma. Age regression happens when a person mentally reverts to a younger state of mind. When this happens the person believes that they are the age that they regress to.
