Oh this is SUCH a good question🤭 I like thinking that before they started dating and such (imagine them in the office in-game still), Lin would flirt/tease Narrator to see him annoyed and flustered abt it!

Was any of the flirting Lin did was actually genuine? Most likely not since he only did it to get a reaction out of Narry- and he did!

BUTTTT here's the catch:

Whenever Lin isn't looking, you can bet that Narry's thinking about all the things Lin said and is secretly head over heels for it and him! Man just won't admit it LOL

If we're talking about post-parable, where they're all dating and stuff, these two are actually MENACES when it comes to flirting😭 /pos

Like they won't stop going at each other with cheesy pick-up lines and romantic quotes until one of them succumbs and becomes super flustered over it. There can only be one winner and, erm, let's just say someone tends to take that title over a little advantage they have...🙊

No drawings for this question (sadly) BUT... Oh gosh, where do I even start with this?

To be honest I- I'm actually not sure? I'd like to think he didn't figure it out very quickly at first since in the (head)canon I wrote, he's only actually interested in Stanley first and not Lin. Further more that, Lin was supposedly dead in Narry's books! Since yk, the whole wipe-out of employees happening so Stanley was supposed to be the only person left. But he wasn't.

Lin's existence (and plan to keep Stanley away from him and from trusting him) was a big surprise for him, one that definitely frustrated him as well.

There's a number of reasons why he didn't get rid of Lin the moment he saw him. One of them being "if he survived, then maybe he's part of the game? Part of the story-?" but Narry shoved that thought aside for how "stupid" it was. That couldn't be possible, he'd think at the time.

But the more runs they go through, the more resets (before Narry decides to appear among them physically), it suddenly felt normal to have Lin with them. Like it was meant to be.

He sought out for Lin's trust, not because he wanted to, but to get his story back on track (but also as a little challenge for how stubborn the young man was).

But that reasoning started to crumble bit by bit once they reached the Zending ending. He didn't realize it at the time, and nowhere near in the future until it was too late, but he cared. He deeply, truly, cared.

He cared when Lin didn't trust him and wanted to change that. He cared when he saw Lin's face light up when he was showing them something he was proud of. He cared for what choice Lin was going to make.

And it definitely showed when the choice Lin made was to jump off from the platform.

There was a ringing in his ear as he stood there, blood splattered everywhere- some getting on his clothes- as Lin's body laid lifeless right in front of them.

Everything was so loud yet quiet at the same time. He couldn't move from his place yet he sees his vision getting blurry and his voice getting caught in his throat. Was he going to pass out?

No. Maybe not.

Another reset occurs, just like the rest. Just like before.

He reasoned at the time that it was the disturbing imagery of seeing Lin's dead body and witnessing his death first hand. Nobody would want to see nor experience that, and he was right.

But the way he confronted Lin, telling him "not to do that again, please." His words came out more as a beg than a demand.

All of this builds up to the quiet moment when he realizes he caught feelings for the young man as well. There was a wave of relief, yet also fear. They haven't reached the Control room, and they still don't know the truth. Not yet.

Nonetheless, it was a white lie he was willing to keep up. Together with all the falsehoods and deceptions he has done to the poor protagonists.

He'll keep up this little game of theirs until it's over. He'll enjoy it while it lasts.

AYYYYYY it's me your neighbourhood florist girl with the flower knowledge again!

of COURSE the hydrangeas in the opening credits of the first episode of Spare Me Your Mercy caught my eye and i went "hmm if there's more flowers in this episode then i'll have to make a post" then we just got more hydrangeas but with an obvious focus on them so here we are!

hydrangeas are native to both Asia and the Americas, and while Japan is notorious for having cultivated them, there are ancient fossils of hydrangea blossoms from North America which means they grew in a variety of places and spread from there.

in Japan, hydrangeas traditionally symbolize heartfelt emotion, apology and remorse, because of a legend about an emperor giving hydrangeas as a gift to apologise for neglecting a lover. in Europe, where they were brought in the 18th century, they symbolised boastfulness, bragging and vanity because they produced many blooms but few seeds, and were sent by men to women who had rejected them. in Korea, they represent perserverance and resilience.

the general meaning of blue hydrangeas specifically now lays somewhere around serenity, apology, gratitude and understanding.

hydrangeas are a neat flower in that some varieties can act as a pH gauge for your garden soil- higher acidity leads to blue petals, but alkaline soil will change the petals to pink. by changing the acidity of your soil, you can adjust the colour of the petals. (white varieties can't be manipulated because they don't have pigment.)

they grow from early spring to late autum, and though most grow as shrubs around 1-3m tall, some are small trees and others grow as lianas, which are a long stemmed woody vine that climbs other trees; these varieties can reach up to 30m tall.

if you have cut hydrangeas at home, you can help maintain their bloom or restore wilting by immersing them in hot hot HOT water- even boiling- to help them freshen. the petals can also absorb water since they're technically actually a type of leaf, so you can also dunk your hydrangea blooms into room temperature water petal-first to help them rehydrate. this is a thing i've done at work as a florist- at the grocery store chain i started doing floral at, we always put our hydrangea bunches into buckets of steaming hot water, the hottest we could get from the faucets, when we processed incoming shipments and had given them fresh stem cuts before putting them out for sale.

in both Japan and Korea, some varieties of hydrangea are used for tea, while in the Americas, the Cherokee used the root as a diuretic and the bark as pain relief for muscle pain and burns, and as a remedy for stone and gravel in the bladder.

hydrangeas are also known as hortensia. the name "hydrangea", which derives from the Greek words for "water vessel", comes from the shape of the seed capsules, which resembled a water pitcher. they're called hortensia, supposedly for the name Hortense and after French astronomer and mathematician Nicole-Reine Lepaute, who was not actually named Hortense at all. she was named Nicole-Reine. someone tried to name them Lepautia or Peautia after her, but since they ended up being called hortensia (probably from hortus, which means garden) it's reversed into people thinking Hortense was her name instead of them being actually named after her.

so yes, with the associations with apology, remorse, serenity, understanding.... i'm not surprised to see them here, especially in the episode itself, but i am very intrigued, especially since being in the opening credits means we'll see them there at least through the whole show even if they don't show up again in the actual narrative. the fact that they symbolise remorse and grow around Tiu's mother's house, when he wasn't able to be there to see her before her death, is not lost on me.

2. when in canon does your self insert come in? do you have a scene in mind for your entrance?

Considering FNF introduces characters through weeks (basically what the levels are called), I'd say Lara just has a typical week like the rest! I'm not TOO sure tho on what number week she'll be... maybe Week 9? Right after the (presumably) Darnell week? The weeks aren't in the right order with the lore they have so... perhaps? NOT SURE BUT she'll just normally appear as one of the characters you can battle against!! She'll definitely have a cutscene too though! Heard each week was gonna have an animated cutscene so Lara definitely follows suit with that format :D

3. how do the other characters generally feel about your self insert?

I THINK it's a split on good and bad. Removing the "Lara's friends with practically everyone" part, there are cases where the others have a positive view on her and think she's cool (Ppl like BF & GF, kindaa Nene, maybe even Skid and Pump). The other half is they think she's a nuisance at best (Pico, Darnell, the Dearest parents, and Tankman), not because she did anything wrong- she just gets in the way sometimes in their goals!

I know I've said her to be an artist (specifically a graffiti one), but I wanna mention that she definitely tries to make a living off of those skills! Maybe even setting up a quick stand where you can pay her to doodle a quick sketch of you. She usually does this whenever she can and has the time, because- well, she has to feed herself somehow while on the run, right? Yes she's a supernatural being, but she's living in the mortal realm where she plays by the mortal's rules. It's a tough but rewarding experience :)

She and Wakko act like twins, since their only one year apart in age they just treat each other like twins (people also ask them if they're twins and they just say yes, cause it's funny)

She’s really good at embroidery, cross Stitch etc and she makes little things for her siblings

She and her brothers pile on top of each other and nap a lot

She loves museums

Other than cats she loves animals even the ones that are considered creepy / not cute

Her favorite flavors are strawberry, bubble gum, and fruit punch

She stargazes with Wakko a lot

She and her brothers can pop into games / shows the others are playing / watching and be silly

She got her flower from Wakko and her skirt from Yakko. She's also very protective of them. If a stranger tampers with them, she'll go into a violent rage. (This peeve is even worse than being called "Dottie" since these were gifts from her big sibs)

Webby found out Dot was trans due to some rando who bullied her deciding to out her and Dot had a major panic attack and spiraled which caused her to ignore and avoid Webby and everyone else for days because she was too scared and ashamed to face her

Her bedroom is big, cutesy, and mostly pink

She loves gaming and has a cute set up in her room with a pink monitor, keyboard with cherry blossom flowers as keys, and cute arm and mouse pad (plays Fortnight, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Project Diva, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Overcooked, Outlast, Amanda The Adventurer, Splatoon, +) she also knows all the lore to every one of the games she plays and makes her own ocs

She has a caffeine addiction (Monsters, Tea, Coffee, Red Bulls, Rock Stars, Cherry Coke etc)

She loves Ballet and tries to teach herself

Without her flower her ears flop and she has little tufts of fur that stand up

She loves Romance and Coming of age animes, movies, and shows

She can play electric guitar and piano

She collects Sanrio merch, G1 mlp toys, original lps toys, stickers, plushies, figures

She has misophonia

She and her siblings have to get shots a lot due to health and safety reasons and Dot and Wakko have to be put into cones (Dot gets violent and tries to get it off while Wakko whines like a dog and ends up getting stuck with it)

She gets EXTREMELY competitive when playing anything but especially Uno

She’s a heavy believer in the paranormal

She has punched multiple holes in the walls

She loves music and often sings and dances to herself

There’s a point in time where Wakko moves out and Dot takes it hard, hardly sleeping and having issues with missing him so much. School gets harder for her too because mentally she really struggles. He still comes back to visit her and Yakko but it doesn’t make her feel better because he always leaves to go back home. + because Wakko’s dream is too lead a band and he already lives with his bandmates it means he won’t be around even more

Ivy Nicole- OHMYGOD so much!!!! I just love her. She's so. I don't know how to word it. But she makes my brain feel very similar to how my brain feels about Rosaylie which is the highest compliment I can give any oc especially oc that is for a piece of media sksksksk. But if I had to try to pinpoint one thing, it would be her compassion and love for other people. She tries so hard to love others and be loved back but the world is very cruel to her.

Genevieve- I like that's she's a loser. I have tried to expand upon this idea for some ocs for my own work but nothing compares to her.

Rosaylie- My dear sweet Rosaylie. My daughter. My best friend. My favorite thing about her is her perseverance. She will never give up, to a fault.

Ivy Nicole- this is a tough one🤔 it would have been Ellis. Still is for a very long time. She tends to put people up on pedestals, and he is no different. She loves loves loves Marilyn Monroe.

Genevieve- (I almost forgot her ohmygod) Not to be redundant but Aldridge. He's her entire world. She loves him so much it makes her head spin. She wasn't quite sure she knew who she was before him, but she certainly knows, after him :)

Rosaylie- as sick and twisted as it is, her favorite person is Tellio. It will always be Tellio.

Ivy Nicole- She is too much, too quick! She is overwhelming! She's always going going going. If someone can handle that, they get along fine. If not, they do not gel very much.

Genevieve- She is VERY shy, so she often doesn't talk much beyond the first introduction. It can be hard for her to make friends. So I'm going to say she doesn't get along well with people she just met.

Rosaylie- She got her Father's charisma. She has a wonderful, welcoming smile. She makes connections very easy. She practically charms people at first handshake.
