I've got some(a lot of?) questions if that's alright?

After Ford finally wakes up, you mentioned that Bill watches over the littler twins' dreams, does he do something similar with Stan? do they chat in the Mindscape or anything? does he avoid Stan?

what are(of there are?) the immediate consequences to the relationship between them now that Ford is awake?

Has 'Stanfraud' ever had any interactions with any Unicorn hair?

What would happen if Stanfraud/Bill ever got any on him? Would he have an allergic reaction? Or other ill reactions?

Have the time police ever given Stanfraud/Bill any trouble?

In the 30 years that Stan and Bill have known each other, have they ever saved each other's life? Or gotten protective/defensive for each other?

Lots of questions are always alright!

Let’s go through all these:

— He definitely does it with Stan too. He doesn’t really have any reason to avoid Stan, except Ford obviously being against it. But… he won’t tell if Stan won’t. He makes excuses as to why he’s visiting Stan’s dreams so much, which Stan doesn’t comment on, he’s just oddly grateful he’s still around. And bleeding into the next question: this all being said, a few old angers have risen to the surface, seeing how broken down his brother is again, knowing Bill’s behind it, so sometimes their conversations get a little tense and Bill does avoid him for a few days after. Or he doesn’t, and gets a little to pushy, lashing out at Stan.

It doesn’t help that Stan feels some guilt still speaking with Bill because of Ford, and because of how adamant his brother has been about Bill being a threat to them. But, it isn’t as easy as just telling him to go away. He knows for a fact Bill wouldn’t listen. The kids would be upset too. They don’t now the depths of all this stuff.

And, not an immediate consequence, but the new tension will eventually bubble into a very intense argument between Stan and Bill that’ll probably have consequences for everyone.

— You know, I hadn’t quite considered that, but I think so yes! He has negative reactions to anything that works as an ingredient in repellent against him. Unicorn hair, definitely more of an allergic reaction, akin to something like hay fever. But something like Mercury probably burns him.

— I have thought about their being an ‘episode’ where Bill’s rivalry with Time Baby comes up, thanks to Dipper and Mabel messing with time, but I’d need to think more about that to give a proper answer. I don’t think he and Stan have ever been given any trouble prior, being as they haven’t messed with time themselves. Bill might try and get a rise out of any time agents if he spots them though, like Blendin. Just for fun.

— They have absolutely saved each other’s lives and that’s a catalyst in their relationship becoming what it is. This is another thing I need to think more on, but being as Stan didn’t fake his death, unfortunately some of his past comes back to haunt him, with old friends putting two and two together with his fake identities. I’m not sure where that would go yet, but I know Bill would step in and rescue him. Naturally, he claims it’s because he needs Stan to get out of this body, but he isn’t really convincing when he says that. There’s also likely a situation where Bill has gotten himself in danger, and Stan rescues him, but I haven’t settled on that. There’s probably a few more minor instances of them saving each other too.

And yes! They do get protective/defensive over each other. On Stan’s end it’s strange. Initially, he was having to protect Ford’s body from Bill. Bill was the threat. But now, he sometimes finds himself actually protecting Bill… because he’s his friend. He’ll jump to his defence about his behaviours if someone comments on them harshly for example. He’s the only one allowed to give him shit for being weird. And with Bill, he’s gone from trying to rile Stan up, calling him useless, a failure of a brother, to getting riled up himself when someone tries to have a go at Stan instead.

If either got physically hurt, they’d also be protective. They genuinely have each other’s backs. Stan at least has the excuse he’s looking out for his brother’s body, making sure Bill doesn’t damage it any further, and can poke fun at Bill later for not having an excuse.

I realise they’re basically just in a constant game of chicken on who’s going to admit they care out loud first — while sober.

Analysis on Mabel (Part 2)

They were both very temperamental people who were going through their own hell, and it wouldn't be fair to say one had it worse than the other, because yes, Stan did spend all those years trying to get Ford back through the portal and didn't even get a "thank you", but he had been warned about the dangers of said portal and the reason why he fell into it in the first place was because of a fight that could've been avoided in the first place. I feel like there are situations like this one where it's not a matter of who was in the "right" because pointing fingers doesn't solve anything nor does any good to any of the people involved. Which is why, getting back to the main topic, is so absurd to expect Mabel to be better than these two. I mean Stan ruined Ford's proyect being fairly older and more mature than Mabel (not for that many years, but still, they were almost in college) so how does him making that selfish decision make more sense than Mabel being an emotional pre-teen?. Mabel was a 12 year old who asked for ONE more day of summer because she was scared of being left behind, which if it did actually happen it wouldn't had caused any harm to anybody, she also didn't know what was the thing that Dipper had in his backpack or what could unleash, nor that Blendin's body was being possesed like Bill. Not even we as an audience knew at the time, so how could we expect HER to know? Things had been going bad for her all day and one more day of summer wasn't going to kill anybody, which is why she was tricked. I think it's incredible how people seem to forget that fact... she was tricked, she had been promised something harmful by someone she trusted. And besides, as it has been said, staying with Ford was NOT the right decision for Dipper either; he was not thinking clearly when he almost accepted, nor Ford was when offering it tbh. Something reasonable would've been, I don't know, tell him that they could both come back to Gravity Falls every summer and during the summer he could be his apprientance, which would have let Dipper learn a lot without taking out all other parts of his life, letting him live his life, go to school, interact with other kids his age and socialize and stay with Mabel while helping out Ford during the summer. Mabel during the weirdmaggedon is a bit different, because she had been told people were suffering out of her bubble but she still wanted to stay, but thinking back it isn't THAT crazy. Like.. she was in the one place she knew she wasn't getting harmed in the middle of the apocalypse as long she just didn't leave, which is selfish of course considering none of it was real, but regardless in a situation of crisis a lot of people would be making the selfish choices, so I don't feel like I'm in a place to judge. So in conclusion, Mabel, they could never make me hate you; she is a very complex character which is what I love about her.

Honestly can't even blame Mabel for giving Bill!Blendin the rift orb. I'd've done the same thing too if I found out the future was going to be horrible and the one person I could rely on was ditching me to spend time with a great uncle who clearly has a favorite grand nibling and who also kept the danger of the rift a secret because of his ego and superiority complex, while also being tricked by a manipulative dream demon.

Anyway the anti-Mabel discourse was stupid in 2015 and it's still stupid now. Mabel haters do not interact.

Gompers the goat is one of the most underrated characters in Gravity Falls. Despite being in over 20 episodes, getting multiple Journal 3 mentions, having dialogue directly referring to him, kicking off the plot of several episodes, including Weirdmageddon, he is barely mentioned by the fandom. The majority of Gompers focus from the fandom has been being the subject of theories trying to connect him to Bill Cipher, due to the similarities in their eye design. While not confirmed to be connected to Bill Cipher, it is stated in the Book of Bill that goat pupils do not change when he possesses them, possibly as a reference to the theory. He is confirmed to be anomalous. Gompers first came to Mystery Shack when a man attempted to pay for a tour with a baby goat. Based on Stan’s love of money, it can be presumed that he denied the offer. However the goat stayed, as confirmed by Alex Hirsch. By July 13th 2000, as seen in season 2 episode 8, “Blendins’s Game”, Gompers lives at the Mystery Shack. In the present day Gompers is mostly a background character, only occasionally interacting with the main cast. In season 1 episode 18, “Boyz Crazy” Gompers makes his first contribution to the plot. He chews off Ergman Bratsman’s license plate, getting him arrested and starting the conflict of the episode. His second and more serious contribution to the plot is in season 2 episode 13, “Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons” when he attempts to eat Dipper’s 38 sided die. Dipper tries to get him to stop, causing him to fall through the roof of Ford’s lab. This begins the plot of the episode where in Ford and Dipper bond, allowing Ford to trust Dipper enough to help him repair the rift, leading to the beginning of Weirdmageddon. All of this already makes Gompers an interesting character, but there may be even more to him than meets the eye. When asked about his opinion on Gompers, the official Bill Cipher Reddit account repiled “I LIKE HIM BETTER THIS WAY” implying he wasn’t always like this. In Journal 3 there’s a coded message on the page after “The Carny” page. After decoding the message it says “NEVER TRUST A WITCH SHELL CURSE YOUR EAR AND TURN YOU INTO AN IMMORTAL GOAT SO I HEAR” despite this not directly referring to Gompers, as the only goat in Gravity Falls we can assume that he was cursed, and turned into an immortal goat. Maybe we’ll learn more about this mysterious goat, or perhaps he will remain one of Gravity Fall’s unsolved mysteries.

I REALLY WANNA MAKE A GRAVITY FALLS AND TGS CROSSOVER AU CUZ LIKE, THEY'RE BOTH MY HYPERFIXATIONS RN SO LIKE YEAH

So basically my current idea for it is that during the episode "Blendin's Game" while Blendin and the time officers were going through different times to try and find Dipper and Mabel, one of the officers dropped his time tape in 1885 London

Jekyll was out for a walk and saw it, he grabbed it because it looked a bit abnormal and tried to disassemble it back in his lab, but instead accidentally sent himself to Gravity Falls Oregon in the year 2012

(from here on it take place between the season 2 episodes 15 and 16 The Last Mabelcorn and Roadside Attraction)

Jekyll would appear in the woods all confused and would see Ford and Dipper walking through the woods chatting. They spot Jekyll and carefully approach him, since they've never seen him around town and they feel he might work for Bill, but they soon lose those suspicions after interacting with him and realizing he probably isn't working for Bill, cuz of how confused and disoriented he is

They take him back to the Mystery Shack and try to figure out who he is and what happened. Dipper then realizes he mentioned the time tape and realizes it's probably from back during all the stuff with Blendin.

Then during the events of the episode "Roadside Attraction", they let Jekyll stay at the shack with Ford so those two can chat and try to figure out how to deal with this problem, while Stan takes everyone else on the road trip

I only thought of this au idea like few days ago, so I havent really worked out plot holes and such, but like, if anyone has ideas for the au let me know! :3

So we all know the theory that Gravity Falls, The Owl House and Amphibia take place in the same universe right?

its a pretty well know theory (even if you don't believe it) in all three fandoms but if you don't here's the gist of it:

so basically that theory is built off easter eggs, like willows dads having a book with Hop-Pops face on it

and references to the other shows like that entire Gravity Falls episode in Amphibia,

that imply that they’re taking place simultaneously, with gravity falls taking place in 2012 and TOH and amphibia taking place in 2019-2020 (without the covid the lucky bastards) with Camilla reading an article about a girl returning from a frog world in the season 2 finale of TOH

but that opens the door for a whole lot of inter-dimensional *shenanigans* and so many plot points i can and will argue reference and overlap with each other.

now theres the obvious similarities like how bills minions fit the description of beast demons from the owl house:

Bill is also in the book that tells marcy about the calamity box:

a book I believe was written by ford since the cover says its by "Dr. P" (P-ines anyone?) and has eyes that look awfully familiar, which I think are a reference to either the cores eyes, the portal doors eye from toh, or Bills eye (and the fact that this eye symbol is so similar across shows feeds the theory that they're all in the same universe)

meaning the Bill is a semi-universal character/figure throughout the different realms

if the other realms (Bill's realm, the several Ford got trapped in, the Boiling Isles, and Amphibia) have access to each other, and Bill is as universal as he seems, he probably interacted with some citizens of those realms, and probably left a mark

now it's finally time for my personal take/add-in:

we never get an origin for the core 

or the newts relation to the core

we get an episode about Andrias's personal history and his individual relation to the core, and how he came to be the guy who manipulated and then stabbed a very vulnerable teenage girl, but it seems like the core has just been with the Leviathan lineage since at least before Andrias's dad (who's over a thousand years old since thats how old the flashback is)

so, what am I rambling about?

well, if bill, a dream demon, made his way to amphibia, the core might have been the newts attempt to artificially replicate his powers

NOW HEAR ME OUT: on top of being incredibly powerful once he’s released in gravity falls

he also has the power to go into other peoples minds and search their memories like he does to Stan in his very introduction

which is an awful lot like what the core tries to do, since Andrias says the core is the hive mind of a dozen of the greatest newt minds and when Darcy happens it has complete access to her memories

not to mention how when it talks to andrias what physically appears when it talks are it’s eyes, which is what changes on dipper and Blendin (time travel dude) when bill possess them

the amphibians (powered by the music box) were an incredibly advanced civilization capable of a lot of damage (as seen by the literal frobot army they created

so i don't think it would be crazy to say that when they (specifically the newts) saw what a being like Bill could do, they would try to replicate it.

Obviously, the core and Bills mind-jumping powers are not the same, which is a way I'd say the Amphibians failed: instead of popping in and out of peoples minds like Bill does, the core completely takes their minds, more like a parasite.

we don't know all the parameters since we know basically nothing about the other newts in the hive mind, other than that each mind shows up as an eye on the cores "head" before and after it possesses Marcy. and speaking of the girl, she has no control or consciousness (that we know of) while under the cores control.

but we do get one and a half-ish examples of people who are very aware of the cores presence in their mind (unlike Bill) but are physically controlling their own bodies (we think) (unlike Marcy) and those two are Andrias and his dad, who both communicate with the core more like it's just a very dangerous, intrusive thought.

Crazed Ramblings about the WLW couple we could have gotten in Gravity Falls (no, not THAT one).

Alright, here’s the fairly unhinged crackpot fanspiracy theory I got after rewatching some of Gravity Falls:

Were it not for the corporate Disney overlords keeping Alex Hirsch and the rest of the Gravity Falls team on a tight leash, then we very possibly would have seen Wendy and Tambry becoming a couple in the episode ‘The Love God’, via love-potion shenanigans on the part of Mabel.

Exhibit A: It is well-known by this point about Hirsch’s efforts to include an elderly lesbian couple just in a brief background appearance, only to have even that shot down. I’d say it’s no stretch to imagine that without the corporate over(lord)sight, Hirsch and the rest of the team would have likely pushed for even more LGBT rep.

Exhibit B: Alex Hirsch has confirmed that Wendy is bisexual. Pretty easy to draw a connection between that and Exhibit A.

Exhibit C: It just makes sense in the narrative context of both the episode and the show as a whole. After the first season showed Wendy’s crumbling relationship with Robbie, it makes sense to follow that up with showing Wendy starting a much better relationship in the second season. In just the previous episode, ‘Blendin’s Game’, it’s shown that Wendy and Tambry are longtime childhood friends. And considering that we don’t see young Robbie interacting with either Wendy or Tambry in this episode, I think it’s easy to imagine a scenario wherein Wendy and Tambry showing up together in ‘Blendin’s Game’ lays a bit of groundwork for their present selves to get together in the following episode.

Additionally, Wendy and Tambry getting together also provides a nice, logical conclusion to Dipper’s whole character arc dealing with his crush on Wendy through the show, something we didn’t actually get otherwise.

Here’s the thing; Dipper never really moves past his crush on Wendy. While they do get a chance to address his crush in ‘Into the Bunker’ where it becomes clear that Wendy obviously does NOT return those feelings, it’s still left a bit open-ended. Going through the rest of the show, it’s clear that Dipper’s crush on Wendy is still very much present even if he’s no longer trying to act on it.

It really feels like we’re missing an episode B-plot which follows up on the conversation from ‘Into the Bunker’ where this whole thread of Dipper’s unrequited crush on Wendy reaches some kind of resolution. That episode made it clear that Dipper’s crush is not going to be returned, but without any follow-up that shows him finding closure to his unrequited feelings. Which in turn makes this whole thread feel a bit unresolved.

To that end, a logical conclusion to this plot thread would be Dipper fully recognizing and moving past his crush on Wendy. And a great way of doing that would be to show Wendy getting together and being happy with someone else and Dipper being able to recognize, accept and support it. Wendy and Tambry getting together in The Love God could have provided that.

Heck, going back to ‘Blendin’s Game’, I think we can even see what could have been a hint to this with Dipper and Mable meeting past-Wendy and Tambry. Sure it’s a funny joke that Mable cracks about how Dipper ‘now knows how Wendy feels’ about his crush on her, but it’s also pretty clear that realization struck a chord in Dipper. Again, consider a scenario wherein this scene with Wendy and Tambry together as kids provides a bit of setup for them becoming a couple in the present. In this case, providing setup for Dipper to finally move past his crush on Wendy.

With all that in mind, I think it’s easy to imagine a version of ‘The Love God’ wherein Mabel, either deliberately or inadvertently, gets Wendy and Tambry together with a love-potion, and then starts to regret her actions. And Dipper is at first driven to help Mable undo the love potion because he is still nursing that crush on Wendy. But by the end of the episode, Dipper recognizes that Wendy is actually happy with someone else, a long-time childhood friend at that, and he should respect that. Thereby finally letting go of the crush he’s had on Wendy for the whole show. It could even lead to a situation where it’s Dipper who talks Mable out of undoing the love potion.

Also, you may ask ‘What about Robbie?’ To which I say; ‘What about Robbie?’

Seriously, you’re saying the show needed to develop someone who is at best a tertiary supporting character instead of developing a MAIN character? This totally could have been one of Wendy’s big character episodes (something she barely gets any of) and you’d rather it be about the human equivalent of rat poison? Again, in hindsight it just makes way more sense that this episode would be focused on Wendy instead of Robby.

Look, Robbie is fine as a character. But ask yourself: Would you REALLY take a Robbie-focused episode over a WENDY-focused episode?

I’m rewatching Gravity Falls and I’m at the part where Mabel gives Blendin Blandin the rift. I know a lot of people use this as the ultimate proof of Mabel’s selfishness. She traded the rift for a longer summer.

My thing is, as far as she knew she was trading a weird snow globe to Blandin, the weird time guy they had interacted with before, for a little more summer. And yeah, it was for selfish reasons, so she could have more time with Dipper and her friends. Because she had just learned that Dipper was going to stay in Gravity Falls with Ford and she was going home alone.

She’s twelve years old and just learned that none of her friends are going to be able to go to her birthday, high school isn’t going to be as cool as she thought it was, and her twin was ditching her to go on adventures with the uncle they just learned existed a few weeks ago. She’s sad and hurt and Blandin shows up, while she’s crying over everything going wrong, and offers her more time with everyone and all she has to do is give him Dipper’s weird snow globe. She doesn’t know its the rift, because nobody thought to take two minutes to explain it to her. And it’s Blandin, they’ve dealt with him before and he phrases it as payback for her doing him a favor before. There’s no reason for her to think giving Blandin this weird snow globe is a bad idea. Yeah, it wasn’t herrs to give him, but Dipper did the same thing earlier in the show and nobody said anything about it.

In the puppet episode, where Mabel has a crush on this puppet guy and Dipper is trying to figure out the laptop, Dipper makes a deal with Bill. A puppet for information on the laptop. But the puppets aren’t Dipper’s to offer, they’re Mabel’s. And I’ve seen people saying that if Mabel had helped him like she promised then he wouldn’t have had to make the deal. But if Dipper had just waited for the whole puppet show thing to be over, Mabel would have been there to help.

Yes, it was super shitty of her to promise to help and then to blow him off for the puppet guy, but she’s a 12 year old girl with a crush and the possibility of making it more than just a crush. And she does end up destroying her entire puppet show and any chance with Gabe to save Dipper.

If she was truly as selfish as these people think she wouldn’t have saved Dipper, or she would have gone through with the puppet show and tried to figure out a way to stop Bill afterwards.

This drawing of him that I've been working on forever (it's still a WIP). It's for a Timestuck Au where Mabel steals Blendin's time tape before Bill knocks her out and escapes to 1981. However the timetape breaks which leads lands her with her Grunkle Stan. She enlists his help to get her to Gravity Falls to see if Ford or Fiddleford can fix it so she can go home. I don't know why she's so sad but i like exhausted Stan trying to cheer up Mabel, especially as it directly echos the last interaction she had with Stan before starting Weurdmegeadon.

How I feel about this character: daughter!!! A wonderful goofball whom I love dearly. Doing her best through some really difficult parts of life (even without like. the literal demonic influence factored into the equation). Always makes me (and her family) smile, though of course she also deserves to be thought of as more than just The Sunshine One.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I like Mabifica, but I’m not like, ride-or-die about it. I have the feeling that Mabes hasn’t met The One(s) yet.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: With her bro-bro, of course, though honestly I could probably write you up a whole paragraph or more for any of the other extended Pines fam and friends and explain why their bond and interactions are (or could be) great.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Uhhh, the pretty standard, like, she’s not a Bad Person™; her flaws, while they absolutely Exist, are wholly human and totally normal for someone her age; she didn’t cause the apocalypse on purpose out of spite or anything and would never have handed over the Rift if she knew Blendin was Bill/if she knew what it really was, etc. Other than that, I dunno?
