Gravity falls headcanons because i can and it’s been taking over my brain

~ mable really likes lucky charms, even bought the box with just marshmallows. dipper pretended to be horrified by this, he ate three whole bowls of just marshmallows at 2 in the morning, grunkle stan caught him but just stood there for a bit and walked away

~ dipper is genuinely scared of little dogs

~ blendin blandin goes on to quit the time anomaly crew and opens a barber shop

~ wendy and robbie fully make up after graduation and become best friends

~ ford can talk to squirrels, he learnt from the gnomes, idc if it doesn’t make sense it makes sense to me

~ fiddleford loved ford and ford loved him until bill manipulated ford to the point of ford being obsessed with bill, he didn’t realize how hurt fiddleford was until they reconnected after weirdmageddon, their relationship was never truly the same (it’s 2 am i have more thoughts about this but my brain is half off)

~ blubs and durlen quit being cops and open up their own water park

~ both sets of pines twins all have audhd

~ ford and stan have both met rick (from rick and morty) separate times and both of them had some type of weird situation ship with him

~ stan met eda and got married then divorced, ford met eda and she tried to steal his stuff and when they met she said “wow you look just like my ex husband” ford made a mental note to talk to stan about that if he ever got back, he forgot until stan just brought up his marriage in casual conversation

~ mable organized the first ever pride parade in gravity falls (the town wasn’t homophobic or anything they just never got around to it until mable barged into city hall with a dream involving exploding rainbow muffins)

~ when dipper came out to mable as trans mable didn’t need any time to adjust bc she knew the whole time

Headcanon: the frequent failure of Blendin Blandin's equipment—the malfunctioning camouflage suit, the non-functioning memory wipe, the time tape that quickly overheats or gets damaged—isn't because Blendin's a bad agent. He's probably using standard-issue equipment, and he's clearly used to having to make repairs to his equipment in the field.

It's because, under Time Baby's rule, by 207̃012 the quality of most manufactured objects has declined heavily. This is because Time Baby is a baby and hasn't prioritized matters like regulating the quality of consumer goods, so it's a free-for-all. Manufacturers can get away with just about anything. Who's gonna stop them?

"How come Lolph and Dundgren don't have this problem?" Like most dictators, Time Baby's prioritized arming his enforcers over the welfare of his people. Not intentionally; but if a company is manufacturing faulty camo suits, Time Baby never hears about it and there's no one under him who's been given the authority to regulate these things. If a company is manufacturing faulty lasers, the time police can go to Time Baby and go "we didn't catch that guy you hate because we were given broken lasers 😢," and now Space Lasers Inc. has a giant angry psychic baby hovering in their parking lot. It's harder to get away with cutting corners when you don't know which corner will get your whole company disintegrated.

Been thinking about this Gravity Falls comic by MoringMark wherein Soos gifts his slice of infinite pizza from the episode "Blendin's Game" to Pizza Guy. It's a very simple yet wholesome comic that I was more than happy to accept as headcanon... uuuuuuuntil I looked back at the official Journal 3 and found this page specifically referencing the idea that Soos is the only one who could eat it and have it regenerate.

However, I think I've found a way to make this comic still work into the canon of the show if people wish: creating my own headcanon fanfiction short story!

This short story acts as a summary of what I believe could've possibly constituted an entire episode of the series. It takes place between "The Stanchurian Candidate" and "The Last Mabelcorn."

So, without further ado, I give you...

"Space-Timed Order"

Soos decides that he no longer wants his Infinity Pizza, saying that he’s had enough pizza to last him a lifetime. Not knowing what else to do with it, as he is the only one with the ability to eat it and have it regenerate forever, he shares his predicament with Dipper. The two talk to Ford in hopes of finding a way to bypass the rule that only Soos can make the Infinity Pizza regenerate. Fascinated by how such a thing was even capable of existing, Ford asked about its origins. Dipper and Soos explained that was the result of a time wish won through Globnar, which reminded Ford of the time he was almost outwitted by operatives of the Time Paradox Avoidance Enforcement Squadron during his time as an interdimensional outlaw. This event seemed to have been something of a blow to his ego. Hoping to show that his intellect was indeed superior to the intricate powers of Time Baby himself, Ford took on the task of analyzing the Infinity Pizza in order to find a way to remove its bond with Soos. Dipper and Ford geek out about the implications and possibilities should he succeed, such as ending world hunger or even applying such infinite regeneration to other resources. However, in attempting to crack the code on the Infinity Pizza, Ford nearly caused a rift in the space-time continuum. Without the help of Time Paradox Avoidance Enforcement Squadron operatives Lolph and Dundgren, all of timespace might have collapsed. After being brought before Time Baby and narrowly avoiding punishment for their actions, Soos, Dipper, and Ford attempted to convince the time tyrant to break the Soos-only restriction of the Infinity Pizza. Time Baby explained that this was not possible as an openly-accessible gateway to creating infinite matter would ultimately cannibalize the universe itself as matter cannot be created from nothing. The reason that the pizza was able to infinitely regenerate was the result of the Time Anomaly Removal Crew’s seemingly infinite supply of useless contraband being discarded and molecularly reconstituted into pizza at Soos’ fingertips. When Soos asked if they could instead just bond the abilities of the pizza to someone else, Time Baby and his forces obliged on the condition that Ford must never again attempt to counteract the laws of spacetime, to which Ford agreed in a somewhat defeated manner. When faced with the question of who was worthy of the limitless power of the Infinity Pizza, Soos could think of only one person whose hunger for pizza could’ve outweighed his own.

Did I really write all of this to justify a silly comic? Yes, yes I did.

You know what your video made me think about? Stans suit, or their father's suit.

Ford had it but didn't use it. When Stan took over he didn't start wearing it until 10 years before the events of the series (we saw it in blendins game). So ~20 years it was unused in his closet. What made him wear it?

My theory is their father's death but i really want to know more about what do you think about that suit.

I think Stan probably was evolving the Mr. Mystery look and just came across it! But the idea of it being their father's death is actually a really strong headcanon

So I drew more outfits for the Steven working at the Mystery Shack AU. Here’s my first one, which is just like a daily outfit. I mostly just wanted to make Steven’s flannel. I don’t know who started this AU but I think it’s either @ray-the-fae or @anna-scribbles ? Either way I love both of their takes on this AU.

Work - So I saw a lot of people drawing Steven in the Mystery Shack employee t-shirt, and I loved that, but I also remembered that in Blendin’s Game that the shirt only comes in one size, so the shorty that Steven is (I think he’s only 5′6″?) would drown in a Soos sized shirt and I love that. Hell, it might even be longer than how I drew it. And I changed the earring I gave him to a star because Steven should always have a star.

Double Dipper - I really wanted to draw Steven in a dress, and I thought the idea of him really being really excited for Stan’s party and maybe overdressing a bit. I also like the headcanon that when his hair gets longer it becomes ringlets like Rose’s hair so I also wanted to draw him with his hair down.

Next I think I’m going to do two Summerween outfits? A costume and just a Summerween-y outfit (like how Robbie traded his regular hoodie for a skeleton hoodie). I was thinking of him going as a jack-o-lantern, but I haven’t decided yet.

I still will cling to my headcanon that Dipper gets into nature photography, I LOVE that one. Also my sexuality headcanons! (Aroace Ford, bi Stan, pan Mabel, and bi ace Dipper :3 )

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)

OOH I always enjoy thinking about life beyond the portal. The published Journal gives a really good account of Ford’s adventures, but I bet there was a lot that he didn’t get to write down.

I feel like he probably made some lasting friendships that he still communicates with to this day. He probably got hurt a lot more than he let on, and has a lot of scars under that coat. He’s learned things that have no use on earth, but are too weird to just forget.

His quantum destabilizer is a unique weapon in that not only do the individual parts come from a hundred different worlds, but also the knowledge of how to make it. It was a team effort between him and every ally he had.

Of course, he saw but a small portion of the multiverse. There are some parallel worlds, some so far from our comprehension that he almost went mad. This lines up with my actual beliefs about the multiverse.

And yes, that one Flatland dimension he... ‘visited’ now knows that three dimensional space exists and are thus less naive than other Flat Worlds.

How I feel about this character: daughter!!! A wonderful goofball whom I love dearly. Doing her best through some really difficult parts of life (even without like. the literal demonic influence factored into the equation). Always makes me (and her family) smile, though of course she also deserves to be thought of as more than just The Sunshine One.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I like Mabifica, but I’m not like, ride-or-die about it. I have the feeling that Mabes hasn’t met The One(s) yet.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: With her bro-bro, of course, though honestly I could probably write you up a whole paragraph or more for any of the other extended Pines fam and friends and explain why their bond and interactions are (or could be) great.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Uhhh, the pretty standard, like, she’s not a Bad Person™; her flaws, while they absolutely Exist, are wholly human and totally normal for someone her age; she didn’t cause the apocalypse on purpose out of spite or anything and would never have handed over the Rift if she knew Blendin was Bill/if she knew what it really was, etc. Other than that, I dunno? Nothing specific coming to mind rn other than little inconsequential headcanons and I’m not sure if they would Count here haha

My only issue with this theory is, it means someone else must’ve defeated Bill the first time to start this cycle.

The way I see it... not necessarily? By no means do I want to shut down anyone’s headcanons or interpretations, but in my opinion that’s kind of a weak argument against the theory, for a couple of reasons. Especially because of the way other bootstrap paradox-esque time travel loops in the show are treated.

In The Time Traveler’s Pig, for example, this exchange occurs:

Mabel: So I guess we never found out who was causing those time anomalies Blendin was looking for.

Dipper: Wait, Mabel — I think it was us.

The show gives us no reason to believe any other time travelers brought about the initial anomalies — after all, Blendin can’t find anything out of the ordinary until Dipper and Mabel steal his time tape. With this analogous causal loop in mind, I think it’s totally plausible within the established logic of the Gravity Falls universe for Stan to have been the first person to defeat Bill even if he was a reincarnation of Bill himself.

(IDK if this is playing a role in why our views conflict, but one clarification I want to make is that I don’t interpret the Same Coin Theory as new timelines constantly overwriting each other ad infinitum. I like to think there’s only one Bill and one Stan, and only ever been one of each of them, and that the nature of the flow of time in the GF universe just happens to work in a way that allows Stan to punch out his past self and in doing so, bring about his own existence. Bill does his thing, he gets his comeuppance at Stan’s hands, Bill/Stan gets reborn with a little help from the Axolotl and eventually grows up to live through his side of the conflict, and then... he just keeps living his life. Having fun with his family. Bill’s existence is in the past; it’s over and done with and will never repeat.)

In conclusion, as Bill himself said in Journal 3: Why should time only move forward? Why must cause precede effect? Who voted on the laws of physics?

Or usin’ words to cause fightin’.” She chuckled softly before humming thoughtfully. “Zandalari jus’ seem to have a bit of pride an’ maybe some level of disdain towards the other tribes. Thus far many of the Farraki in our clan are pretty nice, so I can’t say I’ve gotten any generalized feelings about them.” She scratched at her neck. “As for my fellow Jungle Trolls… Bloodscalp an’ Skullsplitters seem to be the most savage of my kin, with all their feudin’ an’ such. Shatterspear are….” she’d smirk, “…weird. But they dance well~. An’ then Darkspear are… well I guess we’re harder to pin down cuz we vary so widely, likely thanks to our culture an’ that of the other Horde cultures all blendin’ together.” She thought for a moment, “Even then I’m Shadowtusk first and Darkspear second. I barely even consider my tribe, these days.”

But seriously now, I think I’ve visited every city but Zul’Farrak at this point, with the clan. Not really interested in seeing old, abandoned ruins though. Seems like a borin’ thing to do: walkin’ around and turnin’ over stones.” She shrugged. “Spoke to Taz about this before, but I’m not too interested in our past. With many tribes nearly destroyed in recent history, we’re better off turnin’ our attention forward, rather than back. I’m more interested in our clan than anythin’ else. I guess if the empires rose to glory again, that could result in the clan’s numbers increasing, though.”

30. How did they feel about Vol'jin’s reaction to Garrosh? Did they view it as a rash decision, or did they think Vol'jin was justified?“I wasn’t really following the Horde’s political scene at the time, though seeing how things turned out I guess Vol’jin was right in his thinkin’. It caused my tribe a great deal of strife, and I’d really rather not think on it too much at this point. Was just a rough time all around.” She sighed.

I only say that because the fan wiki says he’s white even though I’ve pointed out his skin tone is slightly closer to that of Soos (a canon mixed race character) than that of the Pines twins (white).

My unpopular opinion about this character: I actually liked how he was able to hold his own in a physical fight. At that point in time I didn’t see many fat characters who were also good physical fighters where that wasn’t treated as some kind of joke or punchline, and I still think that’s pretty cool and also helps him stand out a bit more from other incarnations of the character.
