The clock struck midnight as K let out a sigh of exhaustion. He stepped out of the midnight bus, stopping his steps in front of your front gate, tilting his head up and taking in a good look of your house – more specifically your lit up room. Huh- why is the lights on- it’s already so late... he thought to himself, a bit worried as guilt hit him at the same moment. Work has been piled up on poor exhausted K especially this month, with their team’s first comeback and all the extra packed promotions. He noticed that he had been arriving home later and later each night, which were like winds of guilt that blew his way. But he couldn’t help but swallow his guilt, this is job after all. A job of an idol. He quickly snapped out of his flashbacks, as he hurried into the house and straight upstairs to your room as guilt, exhaustion and the feeling of missing you, washed over him.

               Papers covered the bedroom floor everywhere, as you were sprawled out against the couch with papers in your hand, on your stomach and on your face. During this month, it wasn’t just K but you were too busy. The new team manager in your job had been nothing but trouble and headache, and the paper works he would assign just add salt to the wound. You were in your own world, cussing out at the image of the evil nightmarish manager when you heard your bedroom door open with a loud thud and a gasping K at the doorway. You sat up suddenly with shocked eyes, thinking an intruder made their way in, but instead found your out-of-breath boyfriend. Welco- your sentence was cut off midway as you felt his warm arounds you in a blink of an eye. You were now wrapped around by his long muscular arms, almost drowning in his chest. But you didn’t mind. You both had missed this for so long and you leaned inwards, resting your head on his shoulder as he left soft almost igniting little kisses on your forehead.

               babyyyy, I missed you so much! K whined out loud. You chuckled at his little whine. You loved it when he did that, when he babied you so much. You were his precious little gem. His eyes took notice of the papers – some crumbled, some torn – all across the room and he quickly took a mental note of the situation. Busy? he pouted, looking at the state of you and your face now resembling almost a panda from the eye bags. A cute little panda to him of course. yeaaa paper works you whined followed by an exhausted sigh, cuddling him. He felt dejected looking at your gloomy state. You were up this late, with stacks of paper work right on your unorganized desk. But he still knew, even if you didn’t had any work to begin with, you’ll still stay up that late, all just for him.

               In a single swift movement, you went flying onto the couch – well gently of course – with the help of K’s fully built arms. He threw himself on you, trying to be as gentle as possible. He treated you like a fragile fragment of glass, his precious gem. K’s arms made his way around you again as he pulled you down on top of him, you laying on top of him on the bed. screw the paper work, my love, you need sleep first and cuddles of course! he chuckled as he caressed your cheek. You tried to deny but you knew his tightly-wrapped arms around you won’t let go of you at all cost. You gave up letting out a loud sigh as you stopped tensing on top of him and chuckled. There there, love he smiled softly at you and gave you a swift but gentle good night kiss on your strawberry flavored lips.

8 NOVEMBER 2023 || 1ST THE QUEEN'S DRAGOON GUARDS, ROBERTSON BARRACKS

The Princess of Wales visited the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards regiment at the Robertson Barracks in Swanton Morley in Norfolk.

This was Catherine's first engagement with the regiment since she was made their Colonel-in-Chief by The King.

During her visit, the Princess of Wales received a tour of the Barracks and met members of the regiment who demonstrated its operations and how they work in real time. She also received a brief on the regiment’s forthcoming training and operational commitments from the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Chris Kierstead.

Catherine was invited to get behind the wheel of a Jackal reconnaissance vehicle and take it for a short drive on the training area. She was also shown the reconnaissance drones used by the regiment to provide intelligence from deep into enemy territory.

Later she met the regiment's personnel and their families before presenting six Long Service and Good Conduct medals (LSGC) to the regiment's soldiers.

The engagement ended with a special promotion that saw Cat promote the Regimental Mascot Lance Corporal Emrys Forlan Jones by presenting him with his Corporal stripes in recognition of the his performance on parade at numerous events across the UK.

♚— Can I just say that I ADORE the idea of Kanon and Saga having feminine names??? 

Like, can you imagine??? I can get the Saga part, but *KANON*. God, I love male characters with feminine names. 

but no. Actually, I’m looking around because of curiosity, I’m trying to figure out how to explain in-universe why Shion would name the twins what he named them. I get that these won’t ever be explained by Kurumada himself, since he was probably throwing out names as they came to him (so they probably don’t have any reason for their names), but I’m a person that likes looking at the fine details.

Thought process down below if you wanna see me spit-balling random shit. 

♚— For Kanon, I get an ancient instrument called the Monochord.

Looking around for videos on monochords (x), it looks like a the monochord is an instrument in ancient Greece that seemed to... promote? Provide an atmosphere for inner peace? Similar to how some people might look to Buddhist mantra chants for inner peace.

Also, I’ve found that ‘kanon’ had an association with ‘straightness’ or ‘reeds’. 

I might be a dumbass making a longass stretch, but looking into the important of ‘reeds’, they seem to help clean water.

So, my reasoning for Shion naming Kanon “Kanon” would probably have something to do with achieving inner peace or assisting in rooting out evil (via being a harbinger of the law or just via his innate nature). Either intentionally or unintentionally. Perhaps during infanthood, after Lemur had entered Saga’ body, Shion would have had an acknowledgment about how Kanon helped Saga resist the faintest bit of evil. This is, of course, going off of my headcanons that Kanon has helped Saga resist Lemur up until Saga had tossed him into the water prison.

This is not including the fact that in-universe, Kurumada also came up with a place called “KANON ISLAND” that “is a place of refuge for injured saints to heal their wounds”. 

I have the faintest of ideas that even while being infants, Kanon was always Saga’s ‘place of peace’ so to say, since I’d imagine that even baby Saga would have had some internal struggle and very fussy moments because of the parasite that no one was aware of... Shion might have picked up on how being next to Kanon soothed Saga tremendously, so he gave Kanon a name that reflected his--for lack of better words--’healing properties’ (and in the distance, you can hear Kanon throwing up). 

♚— Now, for Saga... well, you see, that’s the thing. A saga is a long, involved story, account, or series of incidents... but it’s origin isn’t Greek at all...

Although, the word does have a Latin root ‘sagax’, as mentioned in the screenshot above. This could have also contributed to the later fact that the Geminis are very ‘brainwave’/mind-based heavy with most of their skillsets.

Although the rare given name of “Saga” is in relation to the word of a narrative epic, saga.

So, I can’t really think of anything deep Shion would have went with as a reason to name Saga ‘Saga’... It’s the trickiest name out of all the Geminis in my opinion since even in Japanese, the few words that can be pronounced ‘saga’ doesn’t fit Saga himself.

A very presumptuous headcanon i can think of is that... Shion just got too excited at being a first-time daddy and had very high expectations of Saga, who is the first child to arrive in Sanctuary. Perhaps he named the baby ‘Saga’ in hopes that Saga would have tons of epics written about him or how he’d be the best saint that he’d have tons of stories told about him. Either that, or he wanted Saga to reflect the long list of deeds, trials, errors, and other life elements that he would undoubtedly face as the oldest of that generation of Gold Saints. Fuck, I wouldn’t be surprised if Shion at first planned for Saga to be Pope, but his spirits were dampened as he began to sense the growing presence of Lemur as the years went on.

Either way, Saga’s name isn’t of Greek origin (despite him being Greek, but that’s okay! It’s not the first time we had a name refract from a Saint’s nationality. Shura, Aphro, DM/Mephisto being one of the best other examples I can think of right now), and it just makes me curious as to why Shion would name Saga after a word that means ‘story, (folk)tale, chronicles, myth, history’...

But, of course, unless someone has other ideas on why the twins are named as they are, I’ll have to keep incubating on why Saga is named ‘saga’...
