The loud cry echoes across the skyscrapers as KID throws his arms out to declare his arrival. His announcement in turn causes the crowd on the street to erupt into cheers, the people chanting the thief’s name over and over in a mantra as police floodlights become like stage lights in his show.

He holds his arm up, displaying the catch of the night to the world. Now, once he’s finished performing it would be easy to slip into the disguise of one of the task force members. The easiest candidate is the one he knows is sick in bed with a cold right now, since they had to call someone in from a different division to replace him.

Well, who’s Kaito to deny this new officer a good show. He might stick around and enchant his audience a little longer to get a read on the new face. After all, he can’t be too careful about new people joining the task force, so getting a good read on even stand-ins is important.

What you need to know about DCU Commissions For Palestine

DCU Commissions for Palestine is a fan-led event to raise money for Palestinian causes. Creators in the DCU fandom can volunteer to offer commissions in exchange for donations. All creators interested in offering fanworks (including fanart and fanfic) for any part of the DCU fandom are welcome to join! Creators will have complete control over what they offer.

How it works:

Creators will have the opportunity to sign up here between July 1 and July 15. By signing up, creators agree to offer DCU commissions in exchange for donations. Before July 20, creators will be expected to create commissions sheets explaining what they will offer. These commissions sheets should be limited to DCU fanworks, but there are no limitations other than that. All comics, ships, characters, crossovers, etc. are welcome! We will provide examples for any creators unsure what a commission sheet should look like.

Commission sheets will go live on July 20. Creators will post their sheets on their own accounts, but all offerings will be compiled in a masterpost on the @dcufans4palestine page and shared via reblogs. Donors will be able to search through tags to find offerings based on types of work, specific characters, ships, etc.

Commissions will be live from July 20-August 10. If creators have a maximum amount of slots they are willing to accept and those slots are filled before August 10, they are welcome to close their commissions early. Donors will donate directly to charity and then send proof of their donations to us, and then creators can get started on the commission! More info about donating will be available closer to July 20.

On August 17, posting will begin. This is not a deadline for when works must be completed, but this is when our account will begin sharing completed works. The week of August 17 will be a celebration of everyone’s hard work! Throughout the week, we will spotlight specific creators, fandoms, etc. Depending on the size and success of the event, there may be some additional surprises in store ;)

FAQ:

How much will commissions cost?

That is totally up to the creators. We will provide price suggestions for any authors or artists who are unsure how to price their offerings, but these will only be suggestions. Creators will also get to choose if they have just one price options or price tiers.

Is NSFW art/writing allowed?

Yes, but only if the creator explicitly states that they are willing to accept NSFW commissions and donors who want NSFW work must be 18+.

What types of work are allowed?

We expect that most commissions will be for digital fanart and fanfiction, but any type of DCU fanworks are allowed! If you wish to donate a physical item for the event (merch, comics, physical fanart, etc.) please contact us directly!

If I want to be a creator, is there a minimum amount of work I need to be willing to offer?

Nope! All we ask is that creators be upfront about their offerings. If you only are willing to take up to three commissions, state in your commission sheet that there are only three slots. We also ask that creators contact the account once their commissions are closed so that we can share that information.

Where will donations go?

We have a carrd with plenty of donation options, all supporting the people of Gaza. Creators can specify in their commission sheet if they would like donations to go to a specific cause. Otherwise, donors can donate to any of the fundraisers in our carrd or any other vetted fundraiser or charity supporting Palestinians.

So basically,here's why Miles and Peter B worked and Spiderson and Irondad and all those 'Batman adopts [crossover kid]' stories don't:

Peter B didn't overshadow Miles-Yes,he's a vital part of his character and had a lot of screentime too but Spiderverse is always MILES' MOVIES.Peter B was not his co-star but his mentor so they didn't share the spotlight and this was a wise choice on the writers part because it would be very unfair on black superhero fans to claim it as Miles' debut only for it to be another Peter Parker movie(Wayne Family Adventures:Take notes)

While yes,Peter B was lowkey an asshole in the beginning,he was never outright cruel.He was literally just snarky and bitter and Miles snarked back at him so they were equals instead of a grown ass man picking on a lil boy and being rewarded for it

Jefferson and Rio weren't demonized or downplayed to prop Peter B up-They got plenty of time with Miles too and it's very clear that while Peter B acts like a parental figure to Miles,Miles views Jeffrio as his only parents while Peter B is more like his way older brother that defaults to acting like a dad due to their age difference(Speaking from the experience of an adult with only kid siblings and a good amount of teen friends that i've gotten close enough to consider we consider eachother siblings too,this is 100000% accurate to how it works)

Peter B dosen't baby Miles-He just teaches him the best he can but believes in him enough to try things out for himself and do his own thing so he's a genuinely good teacher for him in addition to a positive adult figure like his parents and Uncle Aaron but again,they're not blood related and they both act that way and that is appropriate due to the differences in their heritage(Peter B a white jewish person/Miles an afrolatino person.Again,realistic rep and i'm Miles this time)

Peter B also genuinely cares about Miles feelings and thinks extremely positively of him as a person instead of just another crime fighter and provides him comfort and safety instead of traumadumping all over to him and placing the responsibility of caretaker on him like a discord mod LMFAO

This is a comic with trans characters in it that is also trying to appeal to trans readers. Please think before trying to do crossovers with content made by bigots who are actively trying to take away their human rights. I don't care if you want to "separate the art from the artist": read the room. Even with that said, the books themselves also have their fair share of shit going on that is pretty offensive. Hello. I wanted to share my MDZS Star Trek AU "To Boldly Go." I started writing it in 2021 only to not touch it for three years, so I'm just proud of myself for finally completing it! It's specific to the Star Trek shows TNG, DS9, and VOY, and though it includes a lot of direct references to Star Trek, I think non-Star Trek fans could still understand and enjoy it. It is a crossover and later includes characters from TGCF, but they are not the focus.

There are a lot of foreshadowed elements and characters who haunt the narrative. And hopefully, I captured the essence of Star Trek, too.

"I can't believe you got lost searching for a vending machine," Minjung-unnie hurriedly drags Mai over to where we are in the waiting area. "I'm sorry! I just really need some sugar intake," Mai sheepishly scratches the back of her neck, visibly apologetic for making her members wait. You can tell that everyone is on edge, and rightfully so, considering the intense training that all of you have put into preparing for this moment.

You notice Mai shifting uncomfortably in her stage outfit, presumably affected by the tension that has somehow permeated the atmosphere of the girls. “It’s okay, just don’t run off by yourself again yeah?” You placed a reassuring pat on her shoulder, and Mai gratefully deflates into your touch.

"How do you look... fine? I'm literally about to throw up." Yuna turns to look at you, her voice barely above a whisper but instead of replying to her, you shot Yuna a teasing smile only to have her jokingly roll her eyes at you. You'd be lying if you said you weren't nervous, you dreamt of this moment for as long as you have been training for it, imagining yourself confidently answering questions with poise and charm.

Now, facing the reality of being in the spotlight, a mix of excitement and anxiety consumes you. Even with a meticulously memorised script from yesterday, you can't help but feel the churning in your stomach, finding solace in having skipped lunch that day.

The corridors echo with the hurried footsteps of the production staff, their voices mingling with the hum of electronic equipment. You watch as Sunghoon and Wonyoung meticulously rehearse their lines, ensuring they are well-prepared for any anomalies that may occur.

Your heart nearly drops to the pits of your stomach when the production staff directs you and your group to make your way onto the tiny platform they have squeezed into the box set. Subtly, you share a smile with Sunghoon as you walk past him up the steps. "Nervous?" he asks, noticing your trembling hands. You nod in response.

"Don't be, just stick to the script and you'll do amazing."

"Not if I have the tendency to somehow screw things up."

"You're being dramatic," Ray sarcastically cuts into your conversation but call it leader instincts or whatever, you just know she's probably the most freaked out one among the rest of you. Proven right, when you feel her fingers finding their way up your arm, tugging onto them.

"You got this Ray, no sweat." You jokingly dig your fingers into the sides of her ribcage and you giggle as she shoots you a warning glare, “I'll eat your dog alive." She threatens and you swear you caught an offended gasp escaping from both Sunghoon's and Wonyoung's lips.

"Please excuse her, I swear she's not a dog-eater." Sunghoon laughs as he watches you desperately trying to explain the questionable humour your bandmate held, and Wonyoung subtly giggles behind her cue cards. You mentally curse Ray in your head for once again having no filter when you hear the director signal for all of you to stand by.

With a steady voice, you begin to deliver your lines, relying on the script that you had so diligently memorized. Occasionally, you catch glimpses of the production crew's reactions, their smiles, and nods of approval driving the initial jitters to give way to growing confidence, buoyed by the energy of the moment.

“Thrilling and heart racing, Kaitou KID once again gets away with another theft near the Yaso-Inaba area, once again leaving local law enforcement stumped and dumbfounded,” Kaito reads aloud with a wide smile as he looks through a newspaper.

“Man, these reporters just keep getting more biased, don’t they?” he chuckles, must mean they love him. Aw, he’s honoured that even the media’s starting to take his side.

He finds himself at Inaba again, taking a moment to full his motorbike back up with gas for the trip back to Ekoda. Though, seeing the local headlines, he couldn’t help but grab a paper and catch up with what people are saying about his latest exploits.

Not that anyone knows that Kaitou KID is nearby as he keeps snickering to himself with his signature “kekeke~” while he skims the article.

How Superman and TMNT's Raphael would get along, according to Darren Criss

He may be best known for his role as Blaine Anderson on Glee from 2010 to 2015, but since, Darren Criss has had plenty of crossover with comics and superhero universes. Criss played a memorable role as the Music Meister in CW's Supergirl and The Flash show-stopper musical crossover, and has also lent his voice-acting talents to a healthy array of animation, including DC animated movies.

Recent highlights include Criss voicing Superman and Raphael from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. During the C2E2 2024 spotlight panel on Criss's career, a fan asked questions about how Criss felt Clark and Raphael would get along and interact. When told he was surprised to hear Criss would voice the rough and tumble turtle, Criss replied "Yeah, me too, man!"

As to what they would argue about, Criss suggested Raff would definitely give Superman a hard time over how much better New York City is than Metropolis. He said Superman was "too polite" to really get into it, but that he could see Raphael getting extremely protective of his city. Given the turtles ran into plenty of turf issues with Batman in the Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated movie where Criss voiced Raphael, it's not surprising he'd want to stake out his territory with another member of the Justice League.

The counterpart question was how Raphael and Superman would bond, and unsurprisingly, Criss promptly suggested they'd share a pizza. He then suggested any artists in the room cash in what a "beautiful" scene that would be with the duo sharing a slice on a high-rise in one of their cities (probably NYC if Raphael has anything to do with it!).

Between voicing Superman in Superman: For Tomorrow (with Zachary Quinto voicing Lex Luthor) and Raphael in the aforementioned Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Criss suggested voicing the turtle was a trickier assignment. Criss spoke to his desire to do more of a Brooklyn accent for the turtle, but was more or less talked down by the filmmakers.

Given the turtle's pre-existing crossovers with the Dark Knight, perhaps an animated feature with the Man of Steel isn't too far away. Criss may well have the chance to make these hypotheticals a reality if that happens.

Two (possibly opposing) thoughts… Will SJM pivot to “appease” fandom: 1) do you think she will write some part of the next book beginning with Elriel, have some heat/eventual fall out and and lead into Elucien… to appease some of the ship fighting? I expect SJM to end with fated mates, but I’m worried I’ll have to share page time. 2) I’ve often wondered if SJM chose Azriel for a spotlight in the HOFAS crossover to appease some (eventually disappointed) Elriels who will have to wait longer…

I don't think Sarah is too worried about appeasing the fandom, especially not just a single shipping group.

She has said that while she loves feedback from her fans and how into these characters they get, she still writes the story she feels need to be told.

If Sarah was worried about appeasing the fandom, Aelin would have shown up in CC3, Elain would have used her mystic powers to contact Midgard and Gwyn would have helped Bryce in the library research. There was actually very little in HOFAS that readers "wanted" to see in terms of theories but if those things didn't fit into her vision, Sarah wasn't putting them in there. She might know a little of what goes on in the fandom but she said she avoids looking at social media and as she has struggled with her own mental health that makes sense.

I'm not sure what she would even write of elriel at this point.

If a guy called you a mistake after pretty much ignoring you the previous year then didn't talk to you for 5 months after would there be anything to explore?

I think e/riels perception of Elain and Az's relationship has become extremely distorted because they haven't truly shared anything but a few looks, lingering touches and an almost kiss (followed by rejection) in 17 months. What is there to resolve? They already had a falling out of sorts and I doubt Elain is going to be a women scorned 6 months later. I doubt Az is going to reopen that door, pissing off the brother that almost died at the end of SF and after he felt a spark in his chest for another female.

And why end E/riel in the next book when they never really got started / already ended in SF?

If some claim Sarah doesn't owe Lucien's character Elain's time or attention despite their being mates than surely they don't believe Elain and Az owe one another further communication or interaction after he rejected her then let months go by without apology.

What genres/tropes do you like to read? All of them honestly. I have to say though, Smut with Fluff and Angst are my absolute favorites. I also love a good plot twist.

Do you have a favorite Fanfic writer? I can't say I have one favorite. There are so many amazing authors on there. @holylulusworld has some amazing A/B/O fics, as well as many others. I've sort of been binge-reading them at the time of answering these, lol.

What kinds of fics do you like to write? I love to write fics that are Dean x Reader/You. The "reader" is typically also an OC and they typically have some bizarre 1-in-a-million trait. I love writing series with lots of parts and typically have a slow burn filled with fluff, angst, and all sorts of fun little things.

I don't have a masterlist as I don't usually post stuff publicly, but I did rewrite a theme from my current longfic to take part in a writing challenge.

Is there something you have not written but would like to try? A casefic. I actually want to incorporate it in the final part of my longfic, and I really want to get the early seasons aesthetic on point. It's so difficult to verbally describe something that we're so used to seeing visually: the gloomy shots, the dingy motels, the impala parked in front of a small town home in the rain, etc. It would be lovely to discuss on how to best write visual / cinematographic descriptions like that! Also, I'm not very good at detective-style writing, so I'm finding it quite the challenge to write a 'solve a case and defeat the monster of the week' fic.

I am extremely fond of the Quick Transmigration genre as a whole in general, and it’s funny to me how complimentary it is to the superhero multiverse trope. It pops up and I’m flooded by so many brainworms at all the inconvenient times, haha, like while I’m at work or grocery shopping. So when I get hit by these The Name of the Game stray thoughts, especially about certain details and 🔞 butchlander scenarios of the arcs I have written down in my plot outline, I feel a lil dismayed because I am only one writer and we are only ch1 into the—so far—planned 135 chapters. 😂😭 So rather than waiting till it’s appropriate to write these lil extras and possibly forgetting or losing the creative drive I have now, while the fire still burns bright, I might as well take advantage of it while it’s going strong and feed y’all tiny diegetic bites here and there.

I like to think of these as fun sort-of-“canon”/ sort-of-“non-canon” What-If outtake scenarios that take place after or during the main story (135ch), kinda like the main story’s unofficial extras or unofficial side stories y’all can read as threadfics so it’s probably not an extra just dumped in randomly or willy-nilly in the main story itself on AO3 whilst this writer tries to shoot for the moon and catch up to our ambitious goalpost of 135chs.

So whilst this one is a weeeeee on the not-so-much-plot-but-smuttier side, because it’s Homelander’s birthday soon, I thought it’d be amusing to write a 🔞 spicy threadfic where TNotG’s Homelander ends up topped by almost all the Butchers I’ve ever written in my AUs thus far. Because why not? YOLO, and it’s convenient that this writer happens to have several long threadfics, Truce, and one AO3 fic that precisely allows for them to all crossover like some kinda butchlander superhero electric boogaloo multiverse on steroids.

So far I’ve only provided snapshot glimpses into the QT arcs that TNotG Billy had to endure, threaded into the threadfic itself, but I want you to know the entire time when I’m slipping in subtle story arc references to scenarios like this:

Because these so far only exist in my plot outline, none of these are considered TNotG main story official unless I publish it on the AO3 platform. I’d just rather write these now than let them gather dust and potentially never see the light of day, haha. It’s only a snapshot but :) what fun surprises I have awaiting y’all. So far in these two threadfic updates we got sneak peeks into the The Boys TV S1-S5 canon-compliant final arc pre-return home, the Showbiz/ Entertainment 3rd arc, and the Medieval Fantasy 1st arc. There’s one more arc I have yet to input, which is the 2nd arc and it just so happens to be my second favorite genre after the QT genre: the Unlimited/ Infinite Flow genre survival game horror. I also may or may not reference the other two arcs remaining (with one of them being A/B/O), but these diegetic bites are supposed to compliment the spotlight that’s gonna be on each Butcher (Butchers 1-5 & TNotG Butcher). 😌 Because what’s better than 1 Butcher? A spicy 6 Butchers “bullying” (affectionate) Homelander sandwich.
