Don't Stream on Max, Stream Scavengers Reign on Netflix!
Hey, Don’t Stream On Max folks! If you have Netflix, stream Scavengers Reign! Show Max just what kind of success they’re missing out on! Who knows, maybe Netflix will renew it for a S2?

Hello!! (✿◠‿◠)
I’m a lurker in the SOFMD discord and I have been witnessing a behavioural pattern by the so called “leadership” that left me completely shocked
First of all, the QR code and the website on their billboard design will send people to the SOFMD website instead of the petition, which only confirmed their clout chasing goal
Second: there seems to be a condescending strike in their response to the people that raise concerns, and when those people “fight back” to express their doubts and issues the “leadership” uses what they call “slow mode” to end conversations they see as conflict
Third: They seems to be focused on trying to get more followers than AdoptOurCrew no matter what they do, and they obviously seem to not be able to do it as their tactics consist in sub-par excuses for engagement
Fourth: money donated through kofi (their chosen platform to raise billboard funds) puts money directly into someone's account (who? nobody knows) so there is no traceability of these funds to anyone specific. This is incredibly unprofessional and dangerous as no one knows who is on hold of these funds
yeah the way that people are spoken to when they raise legitimate concerns is really worrying for an organisation that is now asking for money. there’s a huge amount of money in the kofi fundraiser now and whoever is in control of it could walk away with it tomorrow without anyone even knowing who they are. it’s madness
they remind me of the committee in the good place and that is not a compliment

I heard that the billboard is going to link to SOFMD's website not the petition so what is the point? It feels like a pointless exercise in advertising themselves. They always seem more concerned with their follower count than doing anything to help the show :/
it’s a textbook example of clout chasing
we don’t need another billboard to get the show renewed. all we need to do is post about the show and stream it on iplayer and contact studios. all of that can be done for free without any dodgy fundraisers, but then nobody gets to hold their hand up and say ‘look at this big expensive thing i did’ so that won’t do

i think that what i find very sus from all my lurking is that i remember when AOC first started everyone and their cousins felt entitled to know the identities of the AOC members, they have proven themselves a million times over as the only page worthy of being followed while SOFMD only seems to retweet AOC ideas and occasionally post the same thing just in a “different font”
BUT
now that SOFMD is actually dealing with money no one has asked who are the members of SOFMD and who is the owner of the PayPal connected to the Ko-fi.
This billboard is useless!
aoc is doing a great job of keeping engagement going with fun ideas like the wordle games they’ve been running that are accessible to the whole fandom and don’t cost anything. the fact that they don’t want to publicise the leadership speaks volumes
whereas saveofmd are just claiming there are no leaders at all, even though there definitely are de facto leaders (e.g. discord mods, who have extra power to control discussion) and more powerful members who tend to close ranks and shut down discussion whenever an ‘outsider’ starts asking questions
the fact that there are even two separate movements looks bad never mind the fact that one of them is doing what is very obviously an expensive stunt for internet clout

Hi!!
just to clarify one thing about a previous anon you had.. if that person was on the discord they would’ve know that right now it redirects to the petition but they are planning on change it to redirect the website to their own website.
it’s literally on the discord and someone has been questioning about it as it will mislead the public, why would we want to donate to a billboard that will redirect the public to the SOFMD website when we were expecting the petition to be the focus of it?
Also the have moved their goal to £12500 (when HTA did that they received enough backlash to last a lifetime, but no one has the balls to take this to the timeline because SOFMD minions are being rude patronising and condescending to everyone that expresses concerns)
it’s also dodgy to be adding extra goals as people donate. all of the goals should be made very visible and available before the fundraiser even opens. none of this feels thought through, it’s like they’re just making it up as they go along
and the communication in that discord is some of the most patronising shit i’ve ever seen. like it would try the patience of a saint. i’m raising my glass to anyone managing to keep their cool in there while people are speaking to them like that

Not me forgetting that I scheduled this post LMAO
On February 27th, 2023, in the early morning hours, I finished watching Our Flag Means Death for the first time. Since then, I've rewatched it countless times, I started reading fanfiction for the first time, I started writing it, I scoured the internet for any scraps of S2 content before it finally arrived, I squealed at the S2 teaser trailer, I rejoiced in the premiere of S2 with everyone else, I went to a friend's place at 11:50 PM so we could watch new episodes as soon as they aired, I downloaded memes and photos and fanart pieces, I saw bad takes and shitty takes and good takes and fantastic takes about the show, I waited anxiously for either renewal or cancellation, and when we finally got an answer I worked with everyone to reverse the decision.
In the course of a year, maybe 60-75% of my free time has been spent reading fanfic. In the course of a year, I've downloaded over one thousand OFMD memes. In the course of a year, I've rewatched Ed and Stede's first kiss on YouTube hundreds of times.
All of this in the past year. I'm so happy I finally sat down to watch this show, so I could fall in love with Ed and the crew and Spanish Jackie and Mary Bonnet and Stede Fucking Bonnet. So I could love/hate Izzy Hands and the Badmintons. So I could straight up hate Calico Jack (because seriously, fuck that guy).
Simply put, this show has brought me joy. David Jenkins and the entire cast and crew behind him have made something so special, so precious. And I cannot thank them enough for it.

Hi all! Just a reminder to anyone in the Southern California area (especially San Diegans!) that this event is happening tomorrow! The Maritime Museum of San Diego is open from 10-5, and we'll be taking pictures at 4. Hope to see you there!
A Safe Space Ship
Tumblr media
We have air (a banner plane). We have land (an ad truck). Now, prepare to hit the sea on real ships docked at the Maritime Museum of San Diego! On Feb. 11 at 4 PM we're taking pics, so costumes/cosplay are encouraged! Let's find a #SafeSpaceShip and #SaveOFMD!
More info below ⬇️
February is Museum Month in San Diego, so most museums sell half-price tickets! All you have to do is download the pass here:
If you're unable to do so, save these screenshots from the link below to your phone:
With the pass giving you 50%, the prices are as follows:
Adult (18+) — $12 |⛵️| Senior (62+), Military (w/ID), Students (13-17) — $9 |⛵️| Child (12 to 3) — $6 |⛵️| Child (2 & under) — free
More information about parking, transportation, ADA accommodations, etc. at this link:
Finally, this isn't a private event! There will probably be other museum guests there, so keep it polite and keep it wholesome. If you bring signs, please censor any profanity and remove overtly sexual content. However, this is distinctly *not* a call to censor your queerness.
We hope we'll see you there!
