the opening lines of the shadow of the erdtree trailer remind me a LOT of a certain quote from another game:

and with this in mind, i really hope that the direction they go with miquella is less like the manipulative griffith-esque archetype some people are theorizing, and more like N’s characterization in pokemon black and white: someone very intelligent and powerful but naïve, whose honest attempts at creating a better world might bring about more destruction in the end.

'And so there's no open doors' has Jay grab the kettle of Traveller's Tea only for Nya to grab his arm and shake her head. Then it cuts to the too-small portal the tea creates with the line 'there's no way to get through' followed by Nya and Jay looking solemly at each other as the pirates try to break in for 'there's no other witnesses, just us two'.

The video cuts to Nya dying in Jay's arms in the Skybound finale with the line 'two people living in one small room' and then Nya taking Jay's hand and performing airjitsu with the line 'two half-families tearing at you'.

'Two ways to tell the story, no one's worried' shows Nya and Jay smiling at each other after the Commissioner mentions pirate djinn in Sons of Garmadon. Then, clips of Jay asking Nya to be his Yang and her accepting, ending with them embracing, are played to 'two silver rings on our fingers in a hurry'.

'Two people talking inside your brain' shows Nya in her ocean-form in the Seabound finale, standing on the edge of the roof. Then a clip from Dragons Rising showing Jay angry at Nya for using his lightning, and then turning away from her is played to 'two people believing that I'm the one to blame'.

'Two different voices coming out of your mouth' starts with a clip of Jay saying 'I love you' to Nya in the Seabound finale before cutting to him saying 'and I will always hate you' in Dragons Rising.

'While I'm too cold to care' shows Nya in her ocean-form turning away from Jay and the ninja on the rooftop who reach out for her in the Seabound finale and is contrasted with Ras turning away from Nya after her fight with Jay in Dragons Rising, leaving her standing on the stairs solemnly, played to the line 'too sick to shout'. The fact that we never got to see Maddie even having a hen party or something is SO SAD to me. TELL ME she also wouldn't want a fun karaoke night with Josh, Hen, Karen, Buck, Linda, May and Sue. She deserved to be happy and giggly and to dance and then miss Chim and Jee so she calls him and they go pick Jee up from the Lees and go home and cuddle together on the couch WHY COULDN'T WE GET ANY OF THAT
