I literally had an epiphany earlier this week about this, actually.

I've been doing a bit better mentally ( not struggling with my depression and adhd symptoms as much ) after almost completely dropping other platforms such as instagram and YouTube shorts and engaging more with tumblr, despite engaging in content of more or less the same topics.

I think that 1) the culture of tumblr is completely different from anywhere else I've been online, and actively encourages everyone to not just speak into the void, but engage with a void that often speaks back ( even if it doesn't turn into a conversation between users, ya know? ). 2) largely as a result of the culture, we all know that tumblr is difficult to market ( despite people trying ), which kind of makes the algorithms of other websites, whose entire goal is to shove content down your throat, not really exist as much here.

I always find that I really slow down and intentionally engage more with tumblr than other places on the internet ( even YouTube ) bc everywhere else the users feel more like influencers ( of some level ) than just people i can potentially just shoot the shit with

Yess! Also in RE5 he never acknowledges poor Sheva. Like she is not there. It is always just "Chris, Chris and Chris" even when he tries to catch them in the helicopter at the end, where there are actually 3 people in it. It is all about just Chris 😆
