A concept sheet for one of the characters for my oc project Feathers and Flowers! :)

To some of you, she may look a lil familiar. To those of you who are just now getting a look at her: this is Sakura! She's one of the main characters of the story, and she's gone through quite a few changes since I've last shown her. The story has too!

The very core of the story remains the same, but how it's told received a huge overall; took a lot of inspiration from Dungeon Meshi and DnD and Baldur's Gate 3 (I know that's DnD too, but hey) and it's growing into a story I'm actually very happy with so far! At any rate, this is a bit of a sneak peek of what I got going.

At any rate, some design notes for the new iteration of Sakura!

-Sakura is a Goliath Halfling: part human, part Goliath. A Goliath is a race of huge human-like beings that have large, long sabre teeth jutting from their upper jaw. They're basically an adjacent to Orcs, just with sabre teeth instead of boar tusks. uwu

-She's actually larger than her original design concept, but she's smaller than what a Goliath actually is. Her human blood muddies a lot of her large traits, including her fangs.

-Her hair is more fur than it is human hair and travels down the length of her spine; it stops just short of her tailbone.

-Her nails aren't necessarily claws, but they're much harder, stronger, and durable than a human nail! They're pointed with a blunted edge like all Goliaths to allow digging through hard surfaces. They are also "retractable" at will, like that of a cat!

--- Character Tidbits---

-Sakura remains intrinsically kind and friendly, however what she is forced her to use her smile as a shield. Goliaths and races like them aren't seen positively, and Sakura is treated accordingly.

-She has big dreams of joining a renowned guild called the Slayer's Guild; she wants to be seen as a protector, not as a danger, and the Slayer's whole shtick is slaying monsters to protect the weak. They're the heroes in every story. Perfect for her! ...Right?
