Is merman!Sanji based on a orca? Or perhaps a black butterfly koi? 🤔 Could also be a redtail catfish. Much to think about

Mersanji is perhaps most broadly based on an Orca, but to be more precise he's based on nothing but my very vague understanding of shark/cetacian anatomy and making color choices based on nothing but what feels right.

I wanted him to be black and white kind of like a suit, and so he could have the moniker Black Tail Sanji, and I also wanted him kind of dangerous looking, like he could really hurt you if he whacked you with his tail!

Everything else, from fin placement to size to pattern, is all down to whim. I'm just making shit up

Like, whenever I see Kuina I think she's doing the 🥺 because of the eyebrows and pouty lips 😭😭, it's her and Sanji. The thing she actually inherited from Sanji was the sad wet eyes resting face 😔

Ehehehe yeah, she definitely inherited her big ol’ eyes from Sanji, and the germa genes are responsible for the eyebrow curls and black swoopy hair. The rest of her face though is all Zoro, the nose, the mouth, the general structure, etc.

Zoro’s a very good dad. Im of the opinion that Zoro’s refusal to change his behavior no matter who it is he’s talking to makes him wildly popular with kids because he’s basically treating them like small adults and kids eat that shit up. He’s also a very practical straightforward dude and generally keeps a calm demeanor which is another thing kids tend to respond well to. Regarding how he responds to them, He loves them and literally the only thing he gives a crap about in regards to who they are as people is if they give 110% towards their goals. He doesn’t care one bit about Kuina’s Germa genes, he only cares about her not letting it slow her down. Sora always puts all of his effort into everything he does, often very loudly and with explosive enthusiasm, so Zoro has nothing to worry about there. As far as he’s concerned this whole “being a parent” thing is a breeze and he doesnt know why everyone is so concerned about it all the time.

Now his whole thing about watching them like a goddamn hawk whenever they get near stairs until they are *well* into their teens? That’s neither here nor there, dont worry about it.
