Please help me welcome home Faye, a purple Dollzone Little Snow!

I bought her shortly before the chinese new year in February, after asking Christina of NCS if the purple resin applied to other dolls besides the newly released Dollzone Mia Mia Blue. Sadly it did not, but NCS was told by DZ they had a purple Little Snow in stock. After a bit of back and forth, I accepted the offer and paid a good bit of money for the her.

Her arrival was tainted by many undisclosed issues, such as uneven yellowing and fading, and being on a boy body (Little Snow comes standard on a girl body).

This pic easily showcases the faded head and legs... Turned out he was a 2 year old display model from DZ, and it wasn't disclosed until I prodded NCS again. She worked out a partial refund, and I was able to make her my own finally.

First thing first, was getting rid of the boy parts on the body. Luckily I just had to grab a small rotary tool and sand smooth.

Next up was giving her wings. I had some secondhand Luts wings at home, and I taped some magnets to her back as there isn't enough room on the inside of the chest piece to put the magnets into.

Following that I got impatient and did her faceup without having a wig picked out for her yet. I do want to repaint her sooner than later...

I am happy with her now that she is customized and looks cohesive! She does have new eyes, but I need to take pics of her with them still.

Iza’s Yearly Big BJD Lineup 2024 :: 72 BJDs from 81cm down to 12cm (+ pets!)

About time I posted my yearly big lineup of dolls from 2024!

This year the lineup expanded to 72 different BJDs, including pet and blind box dolls. I set up and photographed 13 individual lineups on December 29th, 2024, and spent the next day sorting the multitude of images, narrowing it down to the best ones, which I then edited (correcting lighting, lens warping, colors, etc...) and manually lined up and merged in Affinity Photo 2. I think what took the longest was the labeling of the sculpts, and I know there are still a few spelling mistakes in there, but I am not up for correcting them anymore. At least I finished it still in time for 2024.

I excluded 5 resin BJDs and like 90% of the blind boxones as they were either twins, or too similar configurations. We actually have a few other types of Blind Box BJDs, but I was too tired to keep taking pictures. Also my 6 year old niece was over and she was getting restless (she wanted to go to the park next to our building). She also kept bumping into my tripods, which lead to me needing to adjust those photos more in the post-edits. Love my niece dearly, and I got some cute pics of her in the Lineup too.

Anyway... if you want certain dolls compared from this lineup, please drop me a comment and I will do it, but only with up to 6 dolls as I am low on spoons. I can also undress them for the mini comparisons, I just can't and won't for the big lineup. Some of my dolls have to be unstrung to get out of their outfits, and I am not that dedicated to this lineup process.

Iona and Territh both go new outfits recently!

Technically this is the first outfit I specifically got for Iona, as she wore spare items of clothing that I had in a box. I think she looks really lovely in that dress!

Territh on the other hand had a complete outfit already, but with him being a king, I wanted him to have more royal colors for his outfit. So purple and gold it became.

Yes, it took me so long to dress Territh in his new clothes that I ran out of daylight between the pictures. It’s like an 8-10 piece set, but it’s gorgeous on him so I am pleased with how he looks. I got the purple one in a smaller size (popo68) despite him being a 71cm doll, but he’s an utter bean pole and one of my scrawnies big boys.

Well Ladies, Gents, and Gentle thems, looks like grey and pastel mix are tied. So I'll go with the pastel mix wig for now, as I do want her to have a colorful wig instead of just plain silver-grey. I will keep the purple wig for a rainy day (or a future doll!)...

My last dollieh arrival of 2024 was a Dream Valley Vanora in light tan skin. I still can't make up my mind which wig should be her "standard" one. The grey was what I put on her initially because she rejected everything else, and I didn't want her bald. But I did order her the multi-pastel and the dark purple wig shortly after. But now I can't decide, what is best?

I didn't have a wig chosen for her as she was an in-stock impulse purchase on my part. I had gotten a big back-payment of money owed, so I took a portion of it to purchase her from DDE. Cost a pretty penny, plus customs since I'm in the EU, but she was totally worth it!

I've named her Iona, and I am so glad I do finally own one! I couldn't join the preorder back in 2023 for her, because I couldn't afford it, nor did I have a character for her.

It was good I didn't join the preorder then, because the first half of 2024 was financially very difficult... I had also ordered Territh (DV Alter) for christmas, who I had pushed off for years, but I really wanted him for one of my wife's characters that I wanted to shell to complete an RP pairing of ours.

She still doesn't have a preexisting character, or a back story, for her, but that's fine. I originally wanted to get Adria's fullset because her outfit would have been perfect for Jazz, but I didn't like her face or ears as much. I barely looked at Vanora at the time, because I was so enamored with Adria's outfit. I forced myself to content with living vicariously through other owners, but sadly barely anyone had them or shared them? I was honestly surprised as they are both lovely!

Let me show some arrival pictures of her under the cut, plus more rambling. Beware of resin nudes!

Her shipping saga was... intense. DDE shipped her huge box (she herself is 66cm) through UPS. Sadly UPS kept having hiccups. First they kept pushing out the delivery date, because they fucked up and didn't forward the box to the delivery depot in time despite me having paid the customs already online.

Then they just didn't show up for the next two delivery days, literally trapping me at home for 3 days, because the delivery window was from 8am to 6pm... Of course this was all during the high traffic holiday time, where my sister needed me to help her bake Christmas cookies, but I couldn't get anyone else to wait for the box for me (I tried to find someone, but no one could and she was too big for a flex box). The second delivery day, they marked the box as "recipient not at home" at 8pm. I was home of course, and awake, but I couldn't call UPS because they closed at 7pm. A thing to note about UPS is, that they try delivering 3 times before they even think about bringing it to a shop, or just plain old return to sender. So I think you can understand why I was antsy.

Finally on the third day, she arrived about 5 minutes before the delivery window was over with. I was happy to finally open the box:

She was packaged safely at least, but due to traveling in winter with freezing temps, over half her magnets had gotten loose and needed to be reglued. I had to take her apart completely because her torso stabilizer had knocked loose, so I wired her.

I think I spent 3 hours getting her wired, restrung, and dressed, because she was being a brat. She came with a small bust as a gift, but I kept the large bust on her, it fits better into the custom made Iplehouse SID corset from CeressBJDclothes.

I bought her during the black friday sale on DDE, so I ended up qualifying for a past Dream Valley event doll, so I chose Tea, as a little gift for me wife since she mentioned liking him. We jokingly call him "Audrey Two" after the carnivorous plant villain of Little Shop of Horrors. His mouth can open, and he is cute over all, and fits in with some other silly little plant like creatures we got.

But anyway, I am glad I got her after all, I think we now have at least 1 doll in each of DV's standard colors! I have an Ann, Bor, and Eve in white, an Ann in the old orange tan, an Apocalypse Horseman body in normal pink, an Alter in normal (yellow toned), Vanora in light tan, and my wife has Tea in white and an Olivia in grey. I just love the fantasy dolls DV makes, they are so good...

So yeah, please let me know which wig looks best!

He looks beautiful! The wig suits him perfectly too. At least Melody's hair is long, so it hides the horrible gapping at the sides of her head. I am gonna just leave it as it is for now, until I can commission her awakened wig. Gotta get my best gal perfect, you know?

Melody got a new wig, which I lovingly call "styled with leave in conditioner and curl gel". I do like it on her, it's super soft and shiny, but it is too big. It literally stays on with eye putty under the cap.

I got it from Natrume on Etsy and it is made of Angora Mohair and is a hardcap wig. The wig was offered in many sizes between 14cm to 24cm circumference, but Melody has a 19.5-20cm head and that was exactly a size not available. I could either go way too small at 18.5cm, which with a hardcap wig would not have fit, or I could go for the 20.5cm wig that is roomy, which I did get.

Oh well, at least her gorgeous tresses cover the gapping of the wigcap. I will commission eventually a local good friend of mine to make her her "awakened" wig, which needs to be opalescent and with black tips. Goes with her lore!

Please excuse the potato photos, but I got a new outfit for Liam!

After owning him for over 10 years, I finally designed a proper royal yet practical outfit, and commissioned CapsuleDoll on Instagram and Etsy to make the design a reality. She knocked it out of the ballpark, especially since she works with measurements!!

She does have a Soom Chrom herself, but mine is a hybrid on a different torso (DFA 65cm boy body from the neck to the thighs), so I'm glad what she made fit him wonderfully. I only had to modify myself one thing, which was the blue tailcoat as the snaps were too tight for his chest, but luckily there was enough fabric that I could just move the snaps over to close it.

I have commissioned CapsuleDoll 6 times already, but I only provided exact guidelines for 2 of them. She even managed to translate a complex outfit idea into reality for me, which included wing-holes in the back. I gave her exact measurements, and it turned out perfect.

All the outfits I have by her are wonderfully made, and I am very happy with her work. She works great with both vague inspiration words and based on sketches. I can definitely recommend her!

Soon I should make a group picture of all my dolls that wear outfits made by her...

Long long ago I did some pairing photos of Milo and Peppi in front of the tree. Milo is just perfect for the soft lights, but I somehow didn't show Lilian in ages.

As much as I love Milo with Peppi, Lilian and Milo is even better (they are both poly and very open with their partners btw).

Zaria got to go out to a conservatory with me and a friend, and these are some of my favorite shots I took of her! Next time though I am taking a smaller doll, she was a bit unwieldy

My 2D Doll 68cm girl body arrived recently, and it's a great and heavy body. The resin on the surface almost feels soft it's so nice, and the sculpting is beautiful too.

I got the large bust for my girl, and it really is "large". Like they broke the company box with how mighty they are! I'm honestly amazed I managed to get pants on her thunder thighs at all. It was a fierce battle between unforgiving firm resin and me pulling stretched to oblivion fabric pants over her thighs and butt. I won in the end though, but I hope I can get them off her again in the future...

Sadly this body does not suit the head (Impldoll Azalea) I got it for, as its jaw is much too slim for the thick neck (despite being made for a 10cm neck...). I tried repainting her (she needed to be color matched) but the proportions still bother me.

It's sad really because I love how this faceup turned out! It's almost sad I'm gonna sell the head as it means I will wipe the faceup (it is character specific). Oh well, I will enjoy this faceup until I purchase a new head in the coming months.

She looks so cool, but I just can't get used to the wonk proportions...

Anyway, in my quest for head sizes, I decided to try two hybrid ideas. Let's put those under a cut. The second set has upper body nudes.

1st:

I put my Simply Divine Thomas head on the body, which has the right neck measurements, and actually looks quite nice. This head is already claimed though, and Val would not appreciate switching sexes like this. He's very much a cis-man, but he does look good on this body too.

And 2nd:

I tried an Iplehouse EID Camilla head on the body, and size wise it is excellent. There is some major gapping from the side though, as Iplehouse bodies have massive necks that balloon at the top. That can be easily hidden though with camera angles and wigs.

If I ever feel like updating Queen Ursa's body (my Iplehouse Camilla on an nSID body in peach gold) this would be a good contender since it fits so nicely. I would get her a smaller bust size though, like medium.

Overall, I am happy with this body and it's posing, I'm just a little sad about the head not looking right on it. Oh well, I guess it is time to reshell Kaya too...

Today I'm showing off one of my wife's dolls again, this time Eva. She is a special doll because she was my first anniversary gift to her back in 2012 when we were dating still (we've been married since 2015). After 12 years my wife finally asked me to repaint her from her modified (freckles added) default faceup.

Up here is a picture of her from back in 2013 with her untouched default faceup, before I gave her freckles upon my wife's request. It was very subtle and light, but it had horribly faded over the years, as shown in the next comparison:

So faded, but still so cute! But now she's all refreshed, I even cleaned, restrung, and wired her so she's good as new!

After many years of hesitation, I finally decided to repaint Jolene, my embodiment of the universe. It had bothered me for years that her eye detailing was brown instead of dark blue, so I buckled down and repainted her, even giving her dark blue eyelashes.

Her new faceup is also so much brighter and vivid. I am not entirely happy with the stars, but hey, I am more confident now that I can repaint the faceup again if need arises.

A Breakdown of my New Impldoll 1/4 Plump Body (with a MNF Alicia head)

So I've had this body since April, as I ordered right at the release of the Impldoll 1/4 Plump body in real skin back in January/February 2024 to make use of the event to get extra hands and feet. I also got the Susu head, but I split it off with @poupeesdecirque (who made an amazing modded hybrid out of it) as I didn't need it.

I had intended at first to hybrid my DiM Gayane on the body, but then I realized that despite all the annoyance I had with her default body, I didn't see her as super curvy... So I decided to put my Fairyland MNF Alicia on it.

Here she is once I got her a dress. There is nothing slim about this body, so don't even bother getting her slim mini clothes, they will not fit. The dress is intended for Iplehouse JID girls with the glamour bust (my girl has the large bust), but I do think she can share shoes with MNFs from what I've noticed, as mine is wearing her old MNF sized shoes easily.

Let's take a brief look at the body upon opening it. Look, no flat butt!! I gotta say, the level of detail on this body is insane. Like the detailing along the areola and the finger knuckles are beautifully done.

The one thing I am a little confused on is that her groin lacks all definition. It's just an odd choice with such a body, as she has even defined knuckles on her toes, but they haven't put anything there for girl dolls since the SGB Star Body, that one didn't have any crotch detailing.

Oh well, not much I can do about that other than mod it myself. But since my girl doesn't go commando, I don't care enough to add the detailing myself.

Now let's compare the Fairyland MNF A-Line girl body to the Impldoll 1/4 plump body. The Impldoll body is a good bit taller and thicker!

I took off the S-Hook and put a 3D Printed neck key on it as the neck would be way too short with just a washer. MNFs have really thick necks on top, so there is gapping, but it's no noticeable one the wig is on. Let's get a good turnaround view:

In the side and back view the gapping his more noticeable, but she stands solid. I did wire her arms legs as she liked to kick herself, but now she is great.

Impldoll even sent her with some coated wire to install as the owner. I used aluminum wire from my own stock as the Impldoll one was a titch too weak and thin to hold up against the elastic.

She sits easily on her legs, and can easily sit with her knees raised to her chest. The engineering is really nice on this aesthetic body, and Impldoll provides a lot of colors to choose from.

But do keep in mind any non "standard" colors (color matching and darker resins) there will be a good several month delay in getting your order. They mentioned this on their Instagram recently as people got worried about waiting 6+ months for dolls that others received within 3 or less months (I ordered a standard color, so it was fast).

I'll end the post with a small resin comparison. I have many other normal skins I can compare, to Impldoll real skin, such as DV normal pink and normal (yellow toned), 2D Doll normal yellow, DFA normal pink, TD Doll normal pink, etc... so just let me know if you want a resin comparison and I will do so.

Susie got to come out with me recently when a friend visited me at the gallery where I had some images on display. I still really love how her tattoos turned out, I really would like to do more intricate pieces like this on commission…
