take care of your cuts step by step♡
identify their depth
epidermis: very thin, like a line. didn't bleed or bled a little immediately after making it. gets bloody red, then blood droplets start forming inside it. overall looks like your usual, average accidental cut.
dermis: can be thin or wide. you can see a white layer inside them, and then they start bleeding. slowly start to get filled with blood, and then it starts pouring (takes a couple seconds).
hipodermis: wide. you can either see fat, muscle or bone. if you see a white layer surrounded by fat, that's fascia, not dermis. fat may look like beans. starts bleeding after a couple seconds like dermis.
take proper care according to depth
epidermis: softly wipe with a towel and cover with a bandage of choice (bandaids recommended for only one cut, gauzes recommended for multiple cuts in one spot). if you have anything to avoid infection, like an antibiotic that you can apply to it, pour a little in the towel and repeat the first step. do not use alcohol as a disinfectant.
dermis: grab a towel and wrap it around the damaged area. press hard (if it hurts too much, apply less pressure) against the wound for around 5-10 minutes, depending on how wide the wound is. apply disinfectant carefully with the same towel (not the bloody part), avoid putting it inside the cut. use bandage of choice (gauzes and clean cloth recommended). seek medical attendance if deemed necessary.
hipodermis: grab a towel and wrap it around the damaged area. press hard (if it hurts too much, apply less pressure) against the wound for around 8-10 minutes. cover the wound with bandage of choice (clean cloth/regular bandages recommended). seek medical attendance, cuts of this depth cannot be taken care of without a professional. do not try to disinfect it at home, wait for a doctor's opinion.
meet psychological needs
you will be alright, i assure you.
please talk to someone, a close friend or beloved family member, a partner, a teacher, etc. vent to them if you feel safe doing so, take your time.
write it down in a notebook, or the notes app. read it as if it was someone else's vent. try to imagine how you would respond to make them feel better.
this isn't over. you can keep going, i believe in you and i'm here for you if you want to talk.
listen to your favorite songs, cuddle with a pet, take a nap, doodle, have a snack, etc.
don't worry, you got this!
this can be scary for you and i get it, but i promise that you will heal from this, okay?
if you're panicking, take very deep breaths.
cry if you need to.
hug a plushie.
pour cold water in your hands.
drink water and have some food if you haven't had it in a while.
identify the issue once you feel ready emotionally.
deal with the problem by either solving it (don't be scared to ask for help!) or learning to cope with it.
take your time to heal.
healing isn't linear.
ilysm.
some time after cutting...
epidermis: after a day, you can remove the bandage. you don't need to cover it again, but if it's more comfortable for you then go ahead.
dermis: if it bleeds through, change the bandage. if it doesn't bleed through, change the bandage after a day. repeat until it gets better. avoid physical activity that hurts the damaged area.
hipodermis: time for the ER, baby! you will probably get stitches. do not, by any chance, attempt to remove them. follow medical advice given to you.
signs of infection
pus or cloudy fluid is draining from the wound.
a pimple or yellow crust has formed on the wound.
soft scab, the scab has increased in size.
increasing redness occurs around the wound.
a red streak is spreading from the wound toward the heart.
more pain, the wound has become very tender.
pain or swelling is increasing 48 hours after the wound occurred.
swollen node. the lymph node draining that area of skin may become large and tender.
a fever occurs.
the wound hasn't healed within 10 days after the injury.
if any of the above signs appear, seek medical help as soon as possible.

"i'm not good at anything" – most of us don't take our own skills into account and instead choose to compare them to the ones other people show to the world, which seem to be better than ours but are often not the whole picture. people tend to only show the best of their works, and that's okay, but it's unfair for you to compare your usual work to their best; especially if they are more experienced and/or have a different skill than the one you're comparing.
i doubt you're being honest with yourself, and even if you are, your ability does not define your value. don't strive to be useful or skilled, strive to be a nice person with cool hobbies; regardless of what other people think of those same hobbies.

Respect psychotic folk!!!
respect psychotic folk by not assuming they're automatically dangerous or hostile.
respect psychotic folk by not feeding into and/or confirming their delusions/hallucinations.
respect psychotic folk by not calling strangers "delusional" when they disagree with you.
respect psychotic folk by not pseudo-diagnosing criminals as psychotic with barely any evidence.
respect psychotic folk by not interacting with "schizoposting" posted by non-schizo specs.
respect psychotic folk by not showing them potentially paranoia-triggering memes.
respect psychotic folk by not interacting with memes that make fun of the psychotic experience.
respect psychotic folk by realizing that none of the things listed are too much to ask for, and that it takes no effort from your side to not be sanist.

do you have any tips to recover from s/h
i think what helped me most was to stop checking shblr/shtwt! it may feel nice to have people to relate to at first since it's not an issue that is talked about enough, but it's not okay to normalize this behaviour and even push it further in the belief that you're not harming yourself enough. blocking the tags may help!
you should also let yourself find one or many reasons to do it! it's important for this reason to encourage you. mine used to be 'to feel better about myself', but that's very vague and it also didn't help me since my addiction made me believe that i would be worse without it. my current reason has been 'to not constantly hide my body from the people i know out of fear'.
it's important to keep in mind that recovery doesn't mean 'i'm never doing it again', it means 'i'll try to stop doing this so constantly, it's clearly not doing me any good'. it's normal to mess up, i hadn't self harmed in a long time and i relapsed like a week ago. it happens, it probably will happen again, but i'm still in recovery. it's way better than doing it everyday if you ask me!
hiding and/or destroying your tools is important too. i've had many moments of panic where i was searching for them but couldn't find them, it's really useful as it makes you think about it and reconsider it.
it's so much easier when you have support from other people. ny friends are here to remind me that they love me and that relapsing doesn't mean i failed. even if you think the people you know wouldn't support you, you can find many spaces here and in all social media! my favorite probably is @/traumasurvivorshelpingsurvivors, but there's many more in the positivity tags, and you always have my support of course!
i want you to know that the less you self harm, the less you desire it. it may feel like you'll be in constant pain because you won't be able to do it, but i assure you that the more i stay away from it the more i realize how i don't need it at all.
i know you will be able to do this. ♡

it's so funny because i could literally go weeks happy with my body and my life until i look at social media and suddenly hate everything about it... social media is an addiction and its important to take breaks and not compare yourself to people you've never even met, even when you get urges its still your life and you get to control it<3 i hope you're okay
i'm so sorry about that! i'm sure your body is as beautiful as others', it's just that the more famous people in social media tend to either edit their bodies or get surgery, and the pics that go viral usually fit one or both of those molds.
you're right, social media breaks are important! self-comparison is so much more unfair in social media, since you can't always tell who's being genuine with what they post and who isn't.
i hope you're okay too ♡ i'd recommend looking at people irl, you'll find that everyone is so different and good looking in unique ways ^^

it's crazy to think about how cats simply don't care.
they don't care about how you look. or how much you eat.
but they do care about how you feel, mine didn't care that i was thinner but she still cuddled with me and licked my tears when i cried about it.
who are we doing this for? certainly not our cats.

recovery is hard. your body hurts, your mind hurts. it's not easy either, especially if you feel like there's no one there to support you.
but i believe there are some kittens out there that want to see you smile again while you pet them.

just checking in on you, are you doing fine?? :(  🫶
thank you so much for worrying ♡♡♡ honestly, not really :( i'm still haunted by all the trauma, it either makes me so depressed i can barely move without hurting or i feel completely numb and disconnected from it, neither feel right. i've been self isolating for weeks and i can't get out and talk. and now my house is so noisy that i can't stop self harming because of the sensory issues. yeah, not great. sorry for venting ndndn you don't have to reply, ily either way, tysm seriously :(💕

how do you know that it's going to get better?
because you're looking at my recovery posts instead of feeding into your addiction, and even if you still wonder if it's actually possible to get better, it says so much that you even considered it being a possibility
(and life isn't scripted, so it's unrealistic for nothing good to ever happen to you again — but you can write your own possibilities, so do something nice for yourself and notice how good things, as little as they may seem, are there for you; you deserve them)

i went down from like 65.1 kg to 63.9 kg in like 2 weeks i guess (?) is that a good progress? idk if i should get the credit for that anyways cuz I'm on my monthlies (blood offering to satan? hehe) soooo yeah maybe cuz of that i lost weight and maybe i might gain it back but i desperately wish not to and i hope i can lose more in the coming weeks. by new year i wanna be below 60... around 57 58.... is that too much to ask?
sorry if it's a triggering ask anyway... u don't gotta answer it if u don't want :)
i luv ur blog btw ❤ have a great day ahead!
it's good to have goals, but i hope you're doing this by healthy means
i know it can get overwhelming to feel like you're so close to your goal yet you can't reach it, but please don't starve/purge to get there, i'm sure that with the great progress you've made you'll be able to do this ^^
if you're already starving/purging however, i'm always here if you need to talk, i promise it's not worth it and that we'll find a way out of here
you'll look amazing in new year, no matter if you're above or below 50 :]
also, tysm! it's very nice to hear that and i hope you have a good day too ♡
(ps, i don't know much about periods but please take care! i heard that tea helps but i'm not sure, i can help with the blood offering though... ^_^)

my therapist said if i get the tiny bit worst i'll have to be hospitalized. sorry if this is odd or anything, i just needed to tell someone
i'm so sorry you're going through this, it's not odd at all :( we all need someone to talk to sometimes, i really hope you're able to get better
is there anyone close to you that can support you? it's much easier to feel good when you have someone by your side who understands and is willing to help
i know it's very hard right now, but please don't give up. i have so much hope for you and i promise that some day in the future you'll look at your past self and think that you're glad that you've improved, that you got out of there
it will be difficult, but i believe you can do this, and so many people have hope for you too
take care, anon <3
