5 WAYS OF COOKING FISH
Fish is one of the healthiest forms of protein both for heart and body. Loaded with Omega - 3s, it also promotes good brain health. Cooking fish can be scary. It is delicate, easy to overcook, and tough to master. But what if we told you preparing it at home could be just as easy as cooking anything?
Cooking it should be fun and we will help you with that. For starters, get the freshest fish in Bangalore from gofish.farm and confidently head to the kitchen.
Five ways to cook that delicious fish! 1. Poach - Almost any fish may be gently cooked in heated liquid, such as wine, water, fish stock or milk. Pour just enough liquid to cover the fish. Cover the pan tightly and cook just below the boiling point. Cook up to 8 to 10 minutes and whole fish 15 to 20 minutes. The poaching liquid may also be used as the base for a sauce.
2. Bake - Heat oven to 450°F. Spray a baking sheet or shallow baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place fish on the baking sheet in a single layer, season as desired. Bake uncovered, 8-10 minutes per inch of thickness or until fish is done. 3. Microwave- Almost any boneless fish fillet/steak is suitable for microwaving. Spray a microwave-safe dish with nonstick cooking spray. Cut fish in half and arrange in dish so thick centre portions are to outside of dish. Place in a single layer with a small amount of liquid. Cover with plastic wrap. Cut a few vent holes in the wrap. Cook fish 3 minutes per pound on high power, turning fish once during cooking. Add salt after cooking.
4. Grill- This might take some practice. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and oil the grates. Season your fish and place it on the hot grill. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes per inch of thickness, flipping halfway through cooking. 5. Pan fry- This technique results in food that's crisp and tender. Heat 1/4-inch oil or butter in a nonstick skillet over medium to medium-high heat. Fish may be dipped in milk or beaten egg and then breaded. Cook fish 4 to 5 minutes per side (per inch of thickness) or until done.
Have a fishy weekend!

5 REASONS TO LOVE TILAPIA!
Tilapia is one of our favourite fish species! It is a delicious, mild white fish that is low-fat, low in calories and full of essential amino acids. Since it is a lean and short-lived fish, it has lower levels of toxins like mercury than many other fish.
Here is why we are crazy about Tilapia and some of the benefits of consuming Tilapia-
1) Tilapia has mild, tender and tasty flesh that absorbs flavours easily. This makes it easy to cook and a pleasure to consume.
2) It is very high in protein and low on calories and carbohydrates which makes it the ideal food for those who want to undergo weight loss.
3) It is rich in Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids which boosts the neurological functions of the brain and is good for the heart.
4) Tilapia improves bone health and prevents osteoporosis as it contains minerals like phosphorous.
5) The selenium and antioxidants which are there in the fish prevents ageing and helps fight against cancer.
These are some of the benefits of eating Tilapia and we at GoFish.farm assure the delivery of fresh Tilapia right to your doorstep.

5 FACTS THAT ALL SEAFOOD LOVERS SHOULD KNOW!
Love seafood? We do too! But have you ever thought about the implications of the seafood that you consume which is sourced from lakes, rivers and seas? Fish being among the healthiest and most popular foods in the world are always in huge demand. Fishermen around the world are always under immense pressure to meet the ever-increasing demand. This has led them to pursue extremely commercial and unsustainable practices of overfishing. The result? Diminishing natural resources, loss of biodiversity and climate change! Here are some facts that you need to know: 1) Over 70% of the world’s fish species are either fully exploited or depleted, according to a Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimate. 2) The number of dead zones is ever increasing along the coasts of heavily populated communities. Dead zones are areas where depleted oxygen levels cannot support marine life. 3) Natural aquatic habitats are being destroyed due to fishing practices such as dredging, seafloor trawling and blast fishing. This will cause many fish species to rapidly decline. 4) Fishing debris such as nets, buoys, and lines, account for a large share of plastic debris found in the oceans, thus polluting the oceans and affecting the overall marine life. 5) Dangerous fishing techniques worldwide are destroying marine mammals and entire ecosystems. The Great White Shark faces extinction today, due to accidentally being caught in fishing nets for tuna and swordfish. Creating awareness and practising sustainable pisciculture, akin to that practiced at GoFish is the solution to this major environmental issue. Head over to GoFish.farm to know more about what we do.
