We can see throughout the movie that Nick obviously loves rocking the boat; but he always has a life jacket.

~Nick's a huge fan of casual PDA, he always has an arm wrapped around your shoulder or is holding your hand

~ It's just how he naturally shows his affection but is also a quiet reassurance that you're there? Man has some deep-rooted insecurities and knowing that you're right there with him makes him feel so much better

My headcanon is Bogo is closeted while Clawhauser is somewhat/casually open. Benji isn't "pride pin at work"-gay because he knows the history of cops and the LGBTQ+ community. Ben probably took up the ZPD job while focusing on other things (Gazelle, probably wanting to be an influencer/dancer) thus the receptionist job. Bogo knows Ben is gay but keeps his feelings locked up because he feels responsible for being a part of a massively inept system that oppresses people like Ben and himself. Bogo keeps the job because he retreats back into his own masculinity, hoping that "its all a phase" ("Who knew letting yourself be out there can feel so good!")

Having films like “The Bad Guys” and “Zootopia” crossover opens up a lot of cool ideas, but my fave personal Hc is that the “Sing” movies take place in the same universe as “Cats Don’t Dance”.

In “Cats Don’t Dance” we see the early days of animal-led productions with the end of Darla Dimple’s “Ark Angel”, and from there animal actors and directors became more prominent in the film and theatre industry.

Nana Noodleman is considered a gem of the theatre for being the first animal actor to star in a lead role. This in turn inspires a young Buster Moon to create his own theatre company.

However, the industry is still rife with human favoritism; meaning that even by the 2010s animals are only able to dominate in cities with little-to-no human influence - leading to the decline of the Moon Theatre as seen in the first Sing.

Animals that are closely tied to humans are more likely to advance quicker in the industry. Namely wolves and cats. Even metropolises like Redshore City, the cards that favor tyrants like Jimmy Crystal are in five-fingered hands.

There’s still crossover with the two afformentioned films. Zootopia is famous for having a near zero human populace. In human-majority cities like Los Angeles; discrimination against “scary” animals is so prevalent that it forces those like Mr. Wolf to see no path in life besides crime.

Also I hc that Meena is the great-grandchild of Woolie “The Elephant” of Mammoth Studios fame.

Headcanon I've had for years but don't believe I've ever published. If Clawhauser drinks too much, he stops being coy and starts bluntly and graphically hitting on Bogo, who has to repeatedly brush him off with greater and greater levels of embarrassment. Also, Clawhauser is absolutely horrible at judging what is too much to drink and never believes Bogo when he says he needs to slow down.

What is childbirth like in Zooptopia? Childbirth for animals is relatively easy. They just slide on out. But for us, childbirth became extremely painful and difficult because of our bipedalism and how our pelvis evolved to support us. But you'll notice, all the animals walk up right now.

So... did they just. Bypass that? Are their guts slowly sliding out of their pelvises? Did they also evolve the bipedal pelvis? Is childbirth incredibly painful?

Judy and Nick using couple pet names for each other even before they start dating (officially) is just so funny to me

They’d be like “hey babe can you get me a latte please?” “Sure thing darling” and everyone just naturally goes “aww you guys are so cute together” and they’d have to correct them and be like ‘oh no we’re not together we’re just really good friends’

Then they actually start dating and they still use those pet names while also calling each other “dumbass” or other degrading terms because it’s funny and weirdly endearing

Headcanon:

Judy has a faint scar on her left cheek from being threatened with a knife when she was still new to the force.

She had been going to meet up with Velvet in Vale, but on her approach, a human mugger had cornered her sister. She had immediately stepped in to protect her, but instead of being intimidated by her uniform, he started laughing at her and berating her - questioning what kind of world they were living in that a rabbit Faunus could become a cop.

Judy stood up for herself, but then she was pushed. She retaliated, but it only riled him up more. He had shoved her against the wall and pulled out his knife, pressing the blade against her cheek, growling that she didn't know when to quit and throwing all manner of insults at her. He had drawn blood - deep enough to scar - when sirens were heard approaching. He backed off and ran after that, but not before bidding her remember this moment when she thought she would ever be more than a weak, pathetic, dumb bunny.

Velvet had rushed to her side to check if she was okay, and she reassured her that she was - as well as that the man had been right about one thing: she didn't know when to quit, and she would continue to follow her dream no matter what.

I know everyone tends to associate Raine with bats, and prolly now that they have a fox palisman, may shift that over to foxes; but I still stand firmly with their association with deer.

And with that said, fun little reminder that Raine is a deer in my zootopia/anthro aus. Additionally, they do have artificial antlers to assist in presenting as more masculine. They are considered small in comparison to others, but Raine specifically wanted them to look as such to still get that masculine appearance across, but not overwhelmingly so.

This legit just popped in my head, but for my Zootopia AU for Crookedstar, he likely goes by “Storm” to most people as a nickname, as he doesn’t entirely like the name he was given.

Crookedstar also holds a talent for playing the drums in Zootopia! While his main job deals with being a bartender at a fancy restaurant, he has shown off a few times at work parties and to his friends some of the things he’s picked up while having learned the drums over the years.

While he isn’t the best drummer in the world, he likes to think he does a pretty decent job at it.
