Gotham was welcoming of Amity Parkers.

not as loving as with her own but she was way more patient with the people of her friend that any other outsiders.

so the people of Amity those Liminal and aware of her tried to pay her kindness back, to a reasonable degree of course but they could help and she let them stay so they did.

Paulina took it upon herself to make a nice place in the fashion district, she sold some charms to help with the curses as much as she could.

Sam being Sam opened a surprisingly Ivy Approved community garden and was very hard to convince not to join the Eco-terrorist but they managed to, thankfully.

the Fentons designed filters to help the 'Parkers but it was good for the city too if too little to do much.

Val hadn't moved here (yet) but she visited often enough and each visit volunteered somewhere.

Gotham grown to adore them almost as their own, she even hid them from the bats for a while to let them settle (and maybe help her more before her Knight inevitably got paranoid)

Gotham laughed when her King stumbled into her Red Knight, you could hear it in subtle ways the sounds of the night flowed just a little too much like a giggle.

Hood did deserve more good things she's proud of herself!

DP X DC crossover prompt

Sam and Tucker, thanks to living in Amity Park and being overshadowed and controlled by ghosts so many time, had become very liminal. Until an accident while trying to stop the newest ghost enemy led to the two of them becoming halfa’s. Sam’s ghost form looks like what she looked like during the whole Undergrowth thing. And Tucker’s ghost form looks like his King Tuck design.

After a reveal gone wrong, Danny, Sam, and Tucker flee Amity Park. The trio run away to Gotham, and using money Sam managed to snag from her account before they left, they buy a nice sized building right in the middle of Crime Alley. They decide to turn it into a bookshop and cafe. There’s a garden/greenhouse attached to the back end of the building where Sam grows all her plants and herbs. Tucker has his own tech room in the basement alongside Danny’s tiny lab space. They live together in the apartment above the bookshop/cafe.

One day while out on a walk, Danny stumbles across two tiny twin half formed baby ghost cores. They’re nothing more than tiny little balls of glowing light at the moment. Baby ghosts that are just starting to form but are nothing more than cores at the moment. But they seem to be slowly fading. Danny refuses to let them fade away into nothing. He scoops them up, infuses them with some of his ectoplasm to get them going, and then shoved them into his chest for safe keeping and so that they can be close to his own core which starts slowly feeding them energy.

Danny rushes back to the shop and drags Sam and Tucker to the upstairs apartment and shows him the baby ghost cores he’s found. The three all agree that they’re going to help these cores develop into actual ghosts. They switch off on who carry’s the ghost cores around. Some days it’s Danny. Some days it’s Tucker. And some days it’s Sam. Each of them feeding the cores a little bit of their ectoplasm to help them grow.

One of the cores feels distinctly female and has a purplish blue glow to it. The three start jokingly calling her violet. The other core has a distinctly male feel to it. It’s an orangish red and has a small crack along one side of it. Danny jokingly said one time how he (the baby core) kind of looked like Nemo’s egg at the beginning of Finding Nemo and ever since they’ve been calling him Nemo.

The two cores have been developing very slowly, both seemingly unable to absorb the needed ectoplasm, to form into full ghosts, quickly. The trio is fine with this, they can be patient, and wait to meet their twins.

Then one day there’s some kind of massive ghost attack. Maybe a cult or something attempted to summon the ghost king but messed up the summoning and accidentally summoned something else. The Justice League try and fight the thing, but they’re no match for this ghost monstrosity. And the JLD aren’t available to help for whatever reason. The trio decides to step in and help. They kick the crap out of the ghost pretty easily and send it back to the ghost zone. Then Danny, in his King Phantom garb (crown of fire, whispy white fire like hair, a regal looking version of his hazmat suit, the ring of rage on one finger, and a cape around his shoulders, the outside being pure white but the inside looking like the vastness of space) approaches the cult and rebukes them, telling them how even if they had managed to summon him he never would have helped them take over the world.

After that the trio become members of the Justice League. Thanks to some of Danny’s previous time travel shenanigans, and Danny being the ghost king, and Sam and Tucker his consorts/mates(?) the Justice League all think that the trio are ancient eldritch ghost gods.

And then one day when the trio are in the Watch Tower with the rest of the League their twin baby ghost cores come up. Maybe it was time to switch out who was carrying them, and mid meeting or lunch or whatever, Danny just reaches into his chest, pulls out two small glowing orbs. He cradles them close to his chest for a moment, looking at them lovingly, and whispering something soft to them in ghost speak. Then hands them over to Sam, who does the whole cradle them close and whisper softly in ghost speak before shoving them right into her chest.

They look up from this to see the whole League staring at them wide eyed and confused. Danny just casually explains that those are their children but they’re still forming so the trio needs to keep them close to their cores to help them grow, but they like to switch up everyday who carry’s them. Every member of the Justice League becomes super protective of the trio after this. They see it as the three essentially being pregnant (sort of), and they don’t always know which one of them is carrying the baby ghost. So best to just be protective of all three. The trio finds this kind of amusing and a touch bit sweet.

When the twin baby cores finally develop into actual baby ghosts, the two kind of look like a mixture between Danny, Sam, and Tucker’s ghost forms. Though Violet has dark purple hair and eyes and Nemo has bright orangish red hair and eyes.

with him still thrusting, you gather the energy to look down again, and are met with intense, electrifying eyes and a dark look, right before he releases inside with a groan. too far gone, he had completely lost all control

it was so powerful, the energy surged off of him, causing the power to go out all around you

you both froze in place, still in bed. slowly uncovering your faces, you cautiously looked around, assessing what had just happened

he knew before you did, swearing under his breath and plopping his head on your stomach in defeat with a huff. you had to cover your mouth to stifle the laugh that was inches away from bursting through. he was silent for a moment, already well aware that tomorrow he's going to get an ear full of this from... well... everyone

"its not funny" he said with that infamous frown

that just made you laugh harder

Lucretia is arguably a child when beginning her mission on the starblaster. Probably fresh out of university. Of course she has stacks upon stacks of accomplishments; she’s THE best writer in the plane, she deserved to be recruited for the IPRE mission, BUT still a child.

Working overtime to catalog world she knew would cease to exist or ever be the same in one years time. The pressure of their stories, and her friends stories, and her OWN story placed upon her shoulders and her shoulders alone. For 100 YEARS.

No wonder she took on the burden of attempting to save everyone single-handedly. That 20 year old kid made an impulsive choice with the weight of not just her friends lives on the line but the lives and stories of every single person she had ever run into for 100 years.

Lucretia you are such a beautifully tragic character girl. You’re like an eldest daughter to me

i don’t know why but i’ve been thinking about the adventure zone a lot recently, even though it’s been about 8 years since i first started listening and 6 years since i last listened. Balance is just so gorgeous.

Anyway, loads of taz is existentially horrifying, especially in balance, we know this. A lot of the time, at least from when i remember reading a bunch of meta, the horror is the hunger, the apathy in the face of everything that becomes all consuming. Very EEAAO. But, and i’m sure this has been talked about before, the horror of the light of creation is so ingrained in the story.

Yes, obviously it’s inspiration and whatever, but it’s so uncontrollably wanted. Obviously you can imagine in the story the potential terror of being too inspired, but that’s not as textually supported. What is, is the need to get your hands on the light, from the perspective of the hunger, sure, but also the birds, and also every single other person in the story.

Even split it, and i would argue especially split up (cause we see it more) it’s so horrifying. I’m thinking specifically of the end of the eleventh hour with Isaac’s journal. Isaac didn’t actually seem like a bad man, not at all. He’s seemed disgusted with himself, but he couldn’t stop the want, for lack of a better word, the hunger. Even though he had a goal and values that were antithetical to the chalice, and getting it meant killing his best friend, he did it anyway. And when it was done he wanted to die. Imagine that, imagine needing something so bad you will throw everything away for it, even though you have no idea why.

It can be a metaphor for a million things, but i really cannot get over, strictly literally, how many lives the light just destroys. That is, of course, why Lup goes to hide the gauntlet, but still. When i was first listening i think it was easy to hear that and think of greed, but it’s not even greed pushing isaac and cyrus rockseeker to murder, it’s compulsion.

I don’t know, I just think think i skipped over how awful the light can be in favor of thinking it was just “human” greed the first time i listened.

So—got to thinking (and talking with @magentamee) about the “it doesn’t have to be a one way” line that @chirpsythismorning posted about and realized that yes, it’s likely an implicit ref to Mike’s queerness…but perhaps less as a comment on the specifics of Mike’s sexuality (gay, bi, etc), and more on Jonathan’s inability to figure out what Mike’s sexuality is given his actions.

I already pointed out in that post that the “one way” alludes to the one way sign into Mike’s closet (aka his hidden queerness), but: given it’s Jonathan who says the line, I think it’s more important to look at his experience with Mike + queerness across the season at that point...namely how (at the time he says this) he’s officially the only witness to the convo where his brother all but confesses to his feelings for Mike—

—aka something which Jonathan is clearly perceptive to the subtextual queerness of, and that we see him respond to (at least in the case of his brother) with gentleness and openness:

Now, given that he sees Will’s queerness so plainly, it would be naive to write him off as not being suspicious of Mike’s sexuality as well (both having seen their relationship up close / wanting to protect his brother, on top of just knowing Mike)—and the subtext makes clear that he is suspious, which we can glean from the repeat “dual meaning” lines from him when talking to and referencing Mike (not Will) after the van scene:

It’s Jonathan who comes at us with the “straight? It doesn’t make sense” and this “it doesn’t have to be one way” lines, both clearly referring to Mike (subtextually, though Mike is in frame/convo both times), rather than Will—intimating that it’s Jonathan, not Mike, who is (at least in these scenes) struggling to understand why Mike is acting the way he is, esp in regards to the way he behaves around his all but confirmed gay brother.

Basically: I think this line refers not to Mike’s experience with his own queerness (liking girls or not) and a lot more to Jonathan’s attempts to make sense of the Mike he's seeing (dating El but flirting with his brother)—

—especially given that Jonathan “people don’t always say what they’re really thinking but when you capture the right moment, is says more” Byers has an open (minded) sign over his head in the infamous boys "on el's mind" shot not seconds after this line is said.

TL;DR: the “one way” line is talking about Mike’s queerness yes—but likely from Jonathan’s “wtf is going on” perspective. The wider context shows the “but what about his attraction to girls” aspect of it all is likely Jonathan’s line of questioning, rather than Mike’s own.
