This is going to be a total shameless guilty pleasure drama for me . The storyline is a bit far fetche sometimes, it has the rinse and repeat storyline effect too and the main female lead can get annoying sometimes. But, and keyword here as being but, what made me want to keep watching and have the total giggles with the googlie eyes is the male lead, Yuan Hao, who’s beyond handsome plus charming, and sexy. He just nails his role in this and instantly makes up for the flaws in the show. (The costumes are by far my favorite in this) His character growth is probably my favorite in a long time. He’s just *sigh* a great character and the actor did him soooooo well. Like I mentioned above even though the female lead may have her faults she still has some great moments too especially in season 2, the chemistry is amazing between both of them. This is a cute fluffy pirate’y adventure romance. I throughly enjoyed this one immensely.

Finally, someone else would be the butt of everyone’s jokes as they watched Wei Ying constantly try and fail to get Lan Zhan’s attention. When midterm grades came out, Su She was expecting the guy to be humiliated. That was… not what happened. Worse still, Lan Zhan was now actually turning his head to look at the guy when he spoke. And... wait, was Lan Zhan… putting his hand on the guy’s ass?! No. Su She does not accept this.

This is going to be a total guilty pleasure drama for me. Yes this drama has a ton of glaring problems to it, there’s a long list, but for some reason I absolutely love it. The main storyline isn’t original at all. Girl uses a VR to participate in a historical game that needs to find her true love. It really doesn’t make sense throughout both seasons, there’s plot holes galore to it especially the whole time vs reality bits, but for me I overlooked it since it’s a fantasy drama and a lot of the story is melodramatic crazy anyhow. With that being said, it’s absolutely hilarious too knowing to not take itself too seriously. The cast is amazing. The production is beautifully set, but what really drew me in is the amazing jaw dropping chemistry between the main leads. Smexy is an understatement. Yes at first Simon Gong Jun, the main lead, may be a total asshat prince, and when I mean a total asshat I mean the worst I’ve seen in a long time. He finally does redeem himself later on in the middle of the first season and especially throughout season two. When he does the chemistry and the love scenes, oof! If you can overlook its many faults as well as the female leads many suitors, this is an amazing drama.

Kay's comments: A modern Fruits Baskets AU! No prior knowledge of Fruits Baskets is required, I promise, because I had no idea what Fruits Basket was either when I started reading this fic. It's very cute. Basically, the members of the Lan family will get transformed into animals every time they are hugged and now, Wei Wuxian is thrown into the mix, because he gets to stay with them after being kicked out. It's cute, but there's also mystery and family intrique happening and it really left an impression on me. Excerpt: By the time he’d dragged himself back to his campsite, he kinda wanted to cry as he saw that even with most of the mud having been dug away, the tent itself was definitely too broken to provide any real shelter, and he’d left his stuff at the Lan house. He was just contemplating saying ‘fuck it’ and either curling up on the ground or walking all the way towards the nearest motel, which would take forever, when he heard a deep voice call out, “Wei Ying.” He turned and did his best to smile brightly even though it felt like everything was falling apart around him. “Lan Wangji! Did you come to bring me my stuff? I didn’t get the chance to thank you earlier for getting it all, so thank you.” “You cannot stay here.” Wei Ying’s stomach dropped. “Oh, right. I get it. It’s fine, I’ll figure something else out.” Lan Wangji frowned. “It’s not safe. We have a spare room, so you may as well stay there.”
