your girlfriend, kim minjeong, tries to argue, her arms crossing against her chest, as she sits beside you, her hand cupping your jaw. a tender, playful smile adorns her face, as she fixates her gaze on you.

rasping out, you retaliate, "it is! an iced americano is just watered down—nothing special, minjeong!" you scoff, shaking your head, as the korean girl pulls the blanket further up to your neck.

"whatever, i'll let you have this one just 'cause you're sick and in pain," she sheepishly mutters, her hands meeting your temples, slowly massaging them. with her eyes filled with concern, she grabs a cup of hot water and tylenol, coaxing for you to swallow the pain relief pill.

"you feel a little better now?" minjeong whispers, her voice dulcet and slow, as she leans in towards you, wanting to kiss, before your hands immediately dart out to her chest, stopping her.

"minjeong, stop! you're gonna get sick too," you protest, making the korean girl giggle, as she meekly obliges.

"fine, fine!"

"but yeah, i do feel a little better, baby. 'm so lucky to have you, aren't i?" you tease the girl, a sigh drifting from your lips with gratitude, and a small, gentle smile tugging the corners of your lips,

a giggle escapes minjeong's lips, her heart pounding, as she nods, "i just wanna make sure you'll feel better, pretty." her eyes scan your features, softening at each and every crevice.

throughout the day, minjeong stayed by your side, never leaving it—only ever doing so when she ultimately had to. your energy obviously waned, making you doze off every few hours, but nonetheless, she stayed by your side promptly by the couch.

sitting up, you let winter's head rest on your lap, your hand entangling themselves in her hair. your cheeks were flushed by the fever, a frown adorning on your face.

"you didn't have to stay here the entire time, y'know," you murmur, your hand drawing patterns on the korean girl's head. the girl meekly shakes her head, her hand meeting your forehead to check your temperature.

"c'mon, my job as your girlfriend is to take care of you," a giggle escapes her breath, a cheeky grin painting her face, her chin held high. she brings a glass of water to your mouth, coaxing you to drink it.

"well, if that's your job, then you should get me that tub of ice cream from the fridge," a bright, desperate smile plays on your face, as you nudge her shoulder.

"you're sick—who do you think i am!" an incredulous look adorns her face, as a small pout forms on your face, making you whisper:

"just one, i promise!"

and at that point, winter couldn't help but let a smile crack through her facade. sighing, she relents, getting up and ending up going to the kitchen. as she comes back, you sit promptly on the couch, a ever-so grateful, bright smile on your face. you tap the space beside you, beckoning for the girl to sit.

"oh, you are just amazing," you prod at her cheeks, the tension previously pounding in your head now less prevalent. you lean against winter, easing into her touch, almost instinctively.

a chuckle escapes her breath, "yeah, yeah, whatever you say, baby," she sighs, tucking a hair strand behind your ear. her arms remain slack around your shoulder, drawing circles on it.

as you take small scoops from the tub of ice cream, you sigh contently, feeling heavenly while against winter's body. she lets her hands wander around your head, meekly playing with your hair. while you two remain slack on the couch, evening rolls in, and you inevitably doze off, your eyes crinkling. you bury your head against the korean girl's chest, murmuring incoherent, random rants under your breath.

her eyes shimmer with tenderness, as she coaxes under her breath, "go sleep, baby; you'll feel better, i promise." her smile widens, as her lips meet your forehead, pressing a chaste kiss against it.

a content sigh escapes your throat, as you nod, obliging. prodding at her cheeks, you murmur, "my knight in shining armor, aren't you?"
