When Leia Organa is four years old, she's same height as R2-D2, and while she hasn't yet blown up any blockades, her features have already begun to confuse the droid's sensors (and C-3PO's, too, but R2-D2 was more obstinate about having its mind removed against it's consent and remembers who it is C-3PO doesn't know he mistakes the little princess for.)

There are better units for childcare, more specialized, but R2-D2 is the one that allocates memory space for bedtime story holos and that has had Leia cling it as it zips through the palace's halls. It remembers the interruption of Anakin, the boy and then the man, the child and then the soldier, but it sees all of Leia, every year of growth, and it only leaves her side when eventually forced to for the good of the galaxy.

Discussion of the Star Wars property has, once again, been pretty rancid lately. Shocking news I know.

Unsurprisingly it's largely because of a bunch of people who will tell you're they're definitely not racist but clearly are losing their minds over a black woman having a light saber.

So lets cast our minds back to simpler times, when people understood that what we really wanted to see was a very sexy Leia and Han costume swap. Bless America Young and Dove Meir for providing this to us.

Just look at all that empowerment.

Ik maybe you all are tired of me talking about the same thing over and over again.

But almost 3 years later, i'm still thrilled how the Kenobi show respected and got Bail and Breha's dynamic and relationship as it has been described in more than one SW novel (Princess of Alderaan, Queen's Shadow, Hope and the Eclipse short story from FACPOV A New Hope).

Sometimes I think about looking for SW content and then the first thing I see is "Padmé isn't really Leia's mother because of Breha" which is just ?????? in terms of the Lucas films.

Like, Padmé did nothing that would lead Leia to reject her. Dying is not a renunciation of her motherhood. When Leia is asked by Luke (who invariably identifies their birth parents as his parents) about her "real mother," Leia doesn't correct him but simply responds with a description of Padmé that, contextually, could only come from impressions via the Force that she mistakes as vague memories. Luke does not share these impressions; there is a special tie between Leia and Padmé. There's nothing wrong or improbable about Leia having feelings about that.

Breha is also Leia's mother, but this does not require Leia to reject Padmé nor make it probable for her to do so. And the conversation about Padmé in ROTJ just does not suggest a rejection from Leia at all.

I suspect that Padmé is basically being packaged in with Anakin, whom Leia has very good reasons to reject. But Padmé is not Anakin. Leia does not have to relate to them in the same ways and it doesn't seem at all likely from ROTJ that she does.

My favorite Luke Skywalker headcanon:

His favorite and most used lighsaber form is Ataru (Form IV)

I have a few reasons for that as well.

1st and most important: he was Yoda's Padawan.

2nd: I headcanon Luke being a little.... um-hum, short. Around 5'5, and in my mind, if you are short Ataru just seems to fit? It kinda compensates your lack of muscular strength and height in a duel, with fast and calculated moves. (My opinion)

3rd, but no less important: I just love to imagine him jumping and spinning in a deathly dance no one can get too close without the chance of loosing an arm.

all that's left of her now is this clay imprint of her little paw.

i never touch it or move it bc breaking it would be the end of me. but tonight i took it out of its bag and touched the shadow of her paw.

i cant believe how much i felt in this clay. she had one pink toebean, out of all the other black ones. i used to squeeze them when id trim her nails or feel extra needy for a hit of joy. her little pawpad was perfect, like a cartoon cat might have, soft and cute. she'd push it against me when i picked her up, so annoyed with me. but not scratching either. id kiss her little forehead anyway, soft as silk.

i wonder if i leaned on her too much back then. all the work on myself i wasnt doing. all the fear i bottled up and left to her. i never set her free from that room. i dont worry that she blamed me but surely it was too much. i did this to myself maybe. i cant know, now.

im trying to take good care of everyone now, leia. im trying to let go of suspicion and paranoia and live generously, with hope. im keeping your sister healthy, and helping your brother relax. we all had tuna water today. im a mixed bag and i cant say im not still stuck but im doing my best without you. i still miss you. i still really miss you. im sorry.

but tomorrow is a big special birthday and then it's almost halloween so i wont sit around moping. im getting better at smiling. ill keep working harder, for u. promise.

Maybe she'd like a planet for her birthday? Just a small one, a tiny moon the perfect size for the perfect 2 year old. obi-wan: a moon is a perfect starter planet for a young megalomaniac, therefore for leia's birthday i am going to give her a moon :)

anakin: i agree - but also luke has a birthday soon. imagine that.

obi-wan: i'm offended you think i don't know when my son is born. he will be getting a paint set and a star wars easy bake oven.
