Reed and Sue were great, that last fight scene has to be in my top 3 favorite moments of the entire movie

After watching the movie in theaters, I can honestly say I would watch a Disney+ show just about H.E.R.B.I.E. taking care of Franklin

There's down bad and there's 'learning your alien language from just a three word phrase and several hours of space audio recordings' down bad. I love whatever's wrong with Johnny Storm

oh, the heartbreaking story of mothers, daughters and fathers
i'm not drawing a parralel or saying they are the same. but the opposite. they are literally oppossites but still this two stories and families break my heart beyond measure
Bail and Breha who had been wanting a daughter for probably over a decade adopt a baby girl who's literally the light of their life
Mon and Perrin who had agree to no children and somehow ended up having a daughter that has been challenging them
Bail (and Breha) who fought so hard to keep their only child away from their rebelion and still got involved
Mon (and Perrin) who fought so hard to keep their only child away from their rebelion and ended up with so much distance between them
Bail and Breha who got killed for their rebelion and leaving their daughter 'alone' in the galaxy.
Mon who's daughter (probably) got killed for her rebelion and leaving her alone in the galaxy.
#star wars pay for my therapy#i'm literally this close to throw everything and reread and rewatch everything with the organas and mothma-fertha families#leia organa#breha organa#bail organa#obi wan kenobi#kenobi series#mon mothma#leida mothma#perrin fertha#andor#star wars andor#star wars#alderaan#chandrila#the mask of fear#leia princess of alderaan

I was writing a post about how I don't think it's necessarily always interesting to think about things in terms of "Was Luthen correct?" (and I think people who go in on him being completely 100% correct and objective always miss the nice bits where he... absolutely isn't). But anyway, less important because I instead thought about just putting these two exchanges next to each other in a post on the blog.

More Andor wedding Things Going On In The Background, part the third (previously and more previously and I should’ve just done these as reblogs but as with so much in fandom I did not realise I would still be here by now. SO!)
Luthen talking to this imperial navy recruit:

Steergard is where Cassian stole the imperial starpath unit in s1 which is a nice connection.
Luthen talking to Erskin is presumably also not just making small talk - he recruits Erskin “after the wedding” after all. So from the bit of the conversation we see he already finds out that Erskin didn’t grow up on Chandrila, that his mother’s from Ghorman, that his father was married to someone else and “it was a scandal”, and that he and his mother had been through some kind of rough time as a result until she died and “Mon stepped in.” (I do wonder if they were going to do more with Erskin having that link to Ghorman in the plans for a longer show? or if it’s just in there so we can see Luthen do that grimacy “ohhh…” reaction when he hears the name “Ghorman”? ah well, whatever the intent it’s in there now.)
And then they get interrupted by Tay Kolma crashing into Erskin on his way past - possibly drunk, possibly just visual shorthand for Being Careless And Will Cause Damage, possibly just doesn’t like Erskin who after all must have been the person fielding all those Tay Kolma calls to Mon requesting a meeting that she doesn’t respond to.
Erskin waves this off but they both turn to watch Tay head off, and I love the way his face is right next to the cracked surface of the Chandi Merle:

After that we see he’s heading to Mon, and when the focus switches to their conversation you can still see Luthen and Erskin in the background - Erskin is still watching Tay head to Mon, and then turns back to Luthen and they keep talking:

“Do you know any good assassins? Hahaha just joking obviously. Unless…”
So Luthen’s decision to recruit Erskin “after the wedding” comes after he’d already seen Erskin paying attention to whatever was going on with Tay Kolma (and the next thing Luthen says to Mon is “You said he’d stay away from Sculdun but he’s been pestering him since he arrived!” - Luthen will have been watching, surely, but I wonder if he got something else from Erskin there too). Anyway Erskin already spotting that something is off here presumably puts him in an intermediary zone between “possibly useful” and “possibly a threat,” so it’s probably a good thing for him that Luthen came down on the side of “useful”.
We don’t see Vel when Mon is talking to Tay I don’t think, but she’s there in the next shot as Mon heads away from that conversation via Luthen and she turns to watch:

before he’s all smiles again supervising the Chandi Merle being wheeled off the dance floor:

And then as they’re all taking it away Leida and Stekan reappear, and Leida, who a couple of days ago was in tears because Stekan wouldn’t hold her hand, now gets him reaching for it:

good news: your teenage husband will hold your hand, but only when it’s part of a formal and traditional choreographed routine where everyone is watching him. Still, Leida needs all the silver linings she can get on this one so I’m choosing to believe she was happy.
(not going to say this is the final instalment of these because there is just so much going on in this arc!, but i’m not keen to rewatch the final dancing scenes again because it’s intercut with what’s happening to Bix on Mina-Rau and I just cannot, so maybe another time from cap-that or something.)

If the galaxy is going to be led by a wealthy senator from the Core why couldn't it be this guy:
And furthermore if the Sith were supposed to take over the galaxy anyway and be led by a wealthy sith Lord from the core. Why couldn't it have been This guy!
Forget Padme, I want either Dooku or Bail to be emperor because out of all the people in SW these had the best political campaigns and they would both make better emperors than Palpashit.
