say what you will about the obi-wan kenobi series. like whatever. but occasionally i still think about episode 2 ending where obi-wan whispers anakin all horrified and shocked and it fucking goes to him opening his eyes in the bacta tank

like full body chills babe still. i full on cried. like that was a moment for me and i enjoyed the show sue me. like why was i crying every episode.

obi wan kenobi and anakin skywalker are that serious to me.

I forgot how freaking good the lightsaber fights were in the OWK show

I love that we get to see Obi-Wan fight again and not hold back against the Empire or Anakin. His fighting style seems so much more offensive, more aggressive and I think it shows a bit of his character development, how he has changed in 10 years.

I love it, masterpiece.

My partner and I came across that one dialog from the Obi-Wan Kenobi series (Obi-Wan answering Leia's question by 'I wish I were your father') and we ended rolling on the floor laughing at it because Nkjnsdfjknkjs what did you mean by that Obi-Wan LOL

Star Wars's has always had very silly dialogue but that bit feel so awkward nkJNKJSDF

(We still haven't watched the series btw I keep saying i'll and end distracted)

i remember watching the first episode of the owk show and hearing obi-wan yell in his flashback-dream of mustafar, and how we gradually heard every single line from ROTS interspersed with pauses and it was building up building up and it got to “you were my brother anakin!” and i was vibrating i was like omg omg cannot believe this is happening here it comes here it comes!!! he’s gonna say “i loved you” we’re gonna hear it during his nightmare and it’s gonna be beautiful and horrible and sad and perfect and then—obi-wan woke up. no i loved you.

i felt jilted! cheated out of the line. like wtf?? is lucasfilm trying to retroactively erase that moment? pretend it didn’t happen?? what, is a declaration of love between two guys obsessed with each other too gay for star wars now?? boo tomato tomato i want this to be the obi wan and anakin show!!

but then the show kept going and it became very clear that this was the obi wan and anakin show, and more than that, it was a love story, a ghost story, a revenge story, a tale of loss and heartbreak and pain and letting go. the owk show did not shy away from exploring the depths of obi wan and anakin’s relationship and the love they had (have) for each other.

which made me pause. and wonder. why did deborah chow stop the flashback before obi wan could cry “i loved you” ?

was it because we didn’t need to hear it? maybe it didn’t matter if he said it or not. because it was just a given. implied. inherent in obi-wan’s character. maybe she wanted to show obi-wan’s regret, that he didn’t remember if he had said it or not, that the moment was such a hazy pain in his memory that he wasn’t sure if he had remembered to tell anakin that he loved him. maybe he didn’t want to remember that. that he had loved anakin. even though he had (he still did). maybe it’s all of those. or maybe none of those, and it was just an oversight or impulsive choice.

Do you ever think about how absolutely crazy it was that Obi-Wan was able to beat Vader here? Like that makes other than Vader Obi-Wan and Palpatine THE MOST powerful Force-users in the galaxy. I wonder who was more powerful if they had ever dueled - Obi-Wan or Palpatine?
