I think it's brave that you get up in the morning, even if your soul is weary and your bones are aching for rest.

I think it's brave that you keep on living, even if you don't know how to anymore.

I think it's brave that you push away the waves rolling in every day and you decide to fight yet again.

This evening, I asked the cards “What do I need to know about the path that I am on?” I drew Strength, the 5 of Swords and the 2 of Cups from The Infernal Tarot. 🌟 Looking at these cards, I see my life reflected back at me. Even with everything that I have going on, I’m still trying to do everything, balancing work with health, writing, and living. I often feel as if I’m carrying too much but I’m so hard on myself when I have to let something go. I have to realize that I can’t hold on to everything all the time, I don’t have to *do* everything. I *am* strong, but there’s no need to prove it all the time. I need to stop being hard on myself and remember that each step I am taking on this journey is made easier by the people in my life that love me. 🌟 Whenever I see the 2 of Cups, I think of my Beautiful Husband. It was the card I drew the day after we met all those years ago. Even though it’s been eight years, it still feels like I met him last month. He is the reason that I can finally see myself as I really am. So many of my childhood experiences were mired in shame, but intentional kindness, intentional self-compassion, intentional gratitude to my body, for my body, for surviving and staying present—all have been powerful antidotes. I frequently repeat: “I am being kind and gentle with myself.” “Thank you.” I also stopped asking myself, “What is your problem?” And started asking, “What do you need? What is your body saying? What can you give yourself right now?” Practice saying kind things to yourself. Little-by-little. Two things I will always preach about and advocate for is mental health awareness and domestic violence awareness. Get the help you need there are resources waiting for you.
