Fright Knight sighs, running a clawed hand through his hair in an attempt to stop the flames from flickering into being. It had been far too long since he had taken a human-ish form. His human-ish form. Ugh. He didn’t exactly care for his human form after so long as a ghost, but needs must he supposed. 

Especially with the whole, we’re going to punch a backdoor into the literal daycare part of the Infinite Realms and be surprised when literal toddlers go exploring. 

Well, at least it got him off of guard duty for a bit, which was relieving. Not that he didn’t love the darkness, but it got boring in the shadow of his sword for literal centuries with nothing else happening. He was a warrior for Realm’s sake! Borderline an Ancient in both power and age! He wasn’t meant to stay so still for so long. 

So while ghostling wrangling wasn’t exactly in his area of expertise, he could definitely gather them back up to the Realms. And deal with the curs who had decided to attack literal babies. 

The Daycare area was already understaffed due to just how large it was, and the one in charge of this section had practically sobbed to the Council (In another world they would have been put on hold for a century in line for their concerns, and then more once a Sarcophagus was opened, but they had told the other ghosts in distress, causing others to let them go up in said line) how they were almost certain they had felt at least one core form Outside the realms thanks to the breach. 

Which had understandably put everyone at an uproar. 

So here he was slipping between shadows to do reconnaissance and take stock of if any Ghostlings had left the city. And gently scruffing those he comes across in exasperation because what are you doing, ghostling? Look at the mess, what would your caretaker say?

Just so you know I've read the entirety of you're just like a tattoo about fifty times over and I'm mourning the loss of it already, so when it ends what am I supposed to do with my life huh? 😭

Thank you for saying this. It means so so so much to me to hear you (one of my absolute favs) say this. Rereading something? That’s my love language. Seriously. Vladimir Nabokov famously said, “One cannot read a book; one can only reread it.” And I find that to be true. ♥️

As for Tattoo ending? Well, we still have 4 chapters and an epilogue. So we’re not very close to the ending.

Also, I have a running list of “outtakes” - scenes that I have decided to not include for whatever reason and an alternate ending (all happy endings, just toying around with some of the details of Brian and Justin’s relationship) that I may write if there’s interest.

Believe me, I’m not ready to let go of escort!Brian and trust fund!Justin just yet.

Hello! The anon from a few days ago here. I would just like to inform you that your fic has officially fully taken over my brain because last night I had a dream about it. It was most likely triggered by me watching the prom episode before bed but I did dream the parking lot scene but then instead of the canon version, I dreamt parts of your last chapter instead. And it did result in me becoming aware of the dream halfway through and then wondering in my sleep if I should wake up to check my email in case I missed a new chapter since some parts of it made no sense. Hello dear sweet anon!

Um wow. You know, I write things and put them out into the universe and hope people like them. And I get comments and that it feels so so so good that my writing is landing with people in the way I had hoped. But imposter syndrome creeps in and I start to wonder if people leave comments just to be nice. This is a tiny fandom and I’m naturally friendly with a bunch of the folks in it. So of course my (as much as I hate this phrase) inner saboteur tells me that my friends are just being nice… (which I know isn’t true! There are comments people leave when they’re trying to be nice and my friends do not leave those comments, I am just deeply deeply insecure).

But then I get an anon like you who doesn’t have to come to my inbox at all. You could be out there reading and keeping all your opinions to yourself and I would never know. But you come and tell me that my little fic rearranged the chemical composition of your brain chemicals and you dreamt about it! 😭

eddie moves to texas, leaving buck in la, but crucially does not tell chris, just says he’ll see him soon. chris and eddie spend time together, are doing okay, chris wants to know how long a time off bobby gave his dad to visit texas, eddie informs chris that he actually lives here now and thinks chris will like his new room. chris is horrified because he never wanted to stay in texas. a call back to eddie quitting the 118, ‘i thought that’s what you wanted/i never said that” and chris is like well what now i don’t want to live in texas i want to go home, where’s buck? and eddie is once again tortured by the idea that he’s doing everything wrong because he uprooted his life, chris’s life, bucks life, and none of them wanted it. chris tells eddie to call buck immediately and eddie does and then we cut to bucks loft, where he’s sitting on eddies old couch with red eyes, raises the ringing phone, glances at the name, and then silences it and puts it back down, raises a beer and drinks in silence, shot exactly like the post-breakup scene but without eddie.
