Sirius read the first line of the well-thumbed paperback that Remus had left open on the armchair when he'd gone to the kitchenette to make tea.

Remus was now in the doorway, a cup in each hand. Sirius could smell the coffee as he handed it over. Sweet, life-giving coffee. He'd never understand Remus' aversion to the stuff.

Remus caught the book still open in Sirius' hands as he sat back down. He regarded Sirius over his cup and asked, "Fancy giving it a go?"

Sirius gave a bark of laughter, handed the book back to Remus, and took a sip of coffee.

"You know I can't get on with that Muggle stuff."

Remus smiled a little and drank his tea.

But he knew he'd piqued Remus' interest. And Remus liked nothing more than talking about the books he loved.

"What's it about?" Sirius asked.

"Oh, you know... love...the loss of innocence. The bounds of class that constrain us. The power of memory to both conceal and reveal..."

"A cheery read then?" Sirius quipped.

Remus' eyes twinkled. Merlin, how he loved it when they did that.

Remus put down his cup and said, dryly, "Naturally."

Sirius thought for a moment. He put down his cup, turned to Remus, and began to recite from memory, "You flew too near to the sun, and you were scorched. This cindery creature is what you made me.'

Remus looked dumbfounded.

"You've read it."

Sirius smiled.

"Yes."

"When?"

"When you read it for the first time and kept going on about how amazing it was."

"That was years ago..."

"Yes," Sirius conceeded.

He was gratified to see a slight blush threaten Remus' cheeks.

"I didn't think you'd listen."

Sirius smiled, sunk back into the sofa, and said, "I always listened, Moony."

Dumbledore's literal arc was surrounding the greater good. This man was someone who would give up his family, weaker ones for the "better world" where he was at top... by the end he became someone who gave himself up for an actual greater good without hesitating. he is not a saint by any means but to act like he created everything evil is so????

After seeing about 50 'Dumbledore is evil' and 'everything is Dumbledore's fault' and 'but why didn't Dumbledore did this or the other' posts in a row, I find myself wishing Dumbledore just fucked off to somewhere nice and sunny in '81, early retirement (or is it early if he's already 100?) and washed his hands off magical Britain entirely.

Some of y'all sound like Fudge with your Dumbledore bashing. I wish, at least, Dumbledore would have left when Fudge and that corrupt as hell Ministry did their best to ruin his name and his image.

Pack up his ancient shit and move to a nice beach somewhere, with his pet bird and a huge bag of candy.

This way, my man Voldemort could have won in like five minutes, and Harry would be dead, Voldemort would rule supreme, Bella would keep being the queen she is, and my little Voldemort shaped heart would be happy.

But no, Dumbledore stayed, orchestrated Voldemort's downfall by giving Harry step by step instructions, gave up his own life in the process, made sure Harry would keep his, because apparently that's what 'evil men' do instead of retiring in comfort.

Not only Harry wouldn't have survived without Dumbledore, but he most likely wouldn't even exist without Dumbledore. Because, you know, this evil man is also the one that took down another dark lord back in the day; if Grindelwald would have won, there would be no Lily, most likely. Thus no Harry.

But yes, go get your 'Dumbledore is evil' badges- I hear Fudge and Umbridge are leaders of the hate club, I'm sure they'll receive new followers with open arms. Draco is probably the secretary, because he hates Dumbledore, too, and he likes making badges.

Also, can someone explain to me how Dumbledore, the only gay man in canon, became the fandom's resident homophobe? That's just weird, my friends. Very weird, to say the least. It gets even nastier when you say he 'groomed' students. That's an awful thing to throw around about a gay dude, you know?

There are so many reasons one can dislike Dumbledore for, but you do have the option to not like a flawed character without turning them into a ridiculous caricature of themselves.

P.S: I am not talking about fics. Write your fics and your characters however you want, whatever makes you happy. Your fic is your domain, and you do whatever you want in there, hopefully with no asshole to attack you in the comments. Same with reading- read what you want, bashing or no bashing. I have been thinking about responding to this at all but it seems like i have a lot to say, so here goes.

Due to contrary belief i draw for myself. I draw for me because i enjoy it and it makes me happy. And if it makes others happy then thats a lovely bonus. I draw because i love the bit of magic and creative freedom of being able to put that on paper.

What i don’t do is draw for other people to give me validation or to give them satisfaction. What’s getting weird is that you are so upset over characters that are written by a terf. Someone that is extremely harmful. Characters that DO NOT EXIST.

I’m sick of this endless debate of "oh but CANONICALLY sirius was taller" who the fuck cares. In the movies remus had like a whole head on sirius.

You know whats the one wonderful thing about this fandom? Every single artists and writers version of these characters. They take them and make them their own. I love the way i can read 10 wolfstar fics and all ten of them are wildly different versions of them. They fall in love with each other unconditionally and i with them.

I’ve been told I’m not valid, that i don’t deserve to exist, that i should have DIED in surgery. There is really vile and hateful people in this fandom but you know what. I’m not here for you, my art isn’t for you it’s for ME.

I would like to say I resent this fandom but it’s brought me so much joy as well. I’ve met some of the most talented and wonderful people. I met my very best friend because of this fandom. I traveled places to see people i love because of dead gay wizards. I have found a place that is so wonderfully accepting. A queer community that I will never have in real life. The amount of freedom and expression is something that drew me in and will make me stay.

I hope you get the day you deserve, and I will continue my life where I live it for me and no one else <3

Y/n walked down the stairs, freshly dressed, joining her brother as well as the black brothers in the living room. Regulus sitting on the couch reading, as he usually does. Sirius and James playing a game of wizard chess. Rounding the couch, Y/n sits next to Regulus, not realizing it was slightly closer than they should be in front of their brothers. As the two didn’t know of a secret relationship the couple had been in for the last 5 months.

“Hey.” Y/n said, directing it towards her brother and best friend, “Hi.” the girl said, quietly to the boy next to her, him saying a little ‘hi’ back. Making Sirius look between the two.

“James! Could you come grab this for me, hun? I can’t reach.”

“Yeah, Mum!” James yelled, making his move while standing before heading to the kitchen to help his mum. Leaning over the coffee table to see his best mate out of ear shot, Sirius turns to look at his little brother and bestfriend.

“So, what’s- what is.. What is going on here?” Sirius says, pointing between the couple.

“What are you talking about? Nothing is going on here. Nothing. Nothing at all. Between us?! Me an- and Regulus? You- Sirius you get crazier and crazier everyday.” The girl's rambling always gives away when she’s lying, it really is a miracle the two were able to keep it a secret this long, well Remus, and all the girls, and all of Regulus’ friends knew. But Regulus was proud of her for how she lasted. 

“You know you’re a terrible liar, this is why we never give you the detracting job when we pull a prank.”

“Hey! I try. And you guys said it was because I was better at setting up!”

“That’s just one of the things we tell you. And you’re changing the subject. You two? For real?”

“Yes.” Regulus says, the first thing he said since James left the room.

“Godric! I can’t believe this. This is gross and wrong.. And weird. I mean him? Really?”

“Shut up.” Regulus said, eyes going back to his book, after he quickly checks if James is coming back (he isn’t)

“How long? Who knows? Does Effie know? This is the guy Remus said you were seeing?”

“Like 5 months, and Remus and the girls know, Mum does kind of, and yes.” Y/n says, faster than Regulus can understand, but it seems Sirius did, from his nodding. He’s always found it a little creepy how easily they could understand each other. After a few moments have passed Sirius says, “This is weird for me.” 

“Well it’s not your relationship, so I don’t really care.”

“Regulus!.. Sirius, we care about each other, and I know you care about both of us. So please, respect us and don’t tell James.”

“Hey! No! You know I can’t keep a secret from James!”

“You kept the secret that you were gay and dating Remus.” Silence came over them, the two best friends staring at each other, wearing each other down. Regulus, sitting aside watching the two. The sound of James’ footsteps coming down the fall break them out of their silence, beginning to whisper yell over each other, Y/n pointing her finger to his chest, and Sirius trying to fight her finger away from him.

“You can’t tell him-” “I can’t do this-” “I swear Sirius I will kill you-” “You know I can’t-” “We want to tell James on our own time!” “I don’t lie to him, we have a mutual understandin- mmm” “I don’t care!”

“Hey, Mum made lemonade.” James said, not quite knowing what he walked in on. Seeing his sister with her hand over Sirius’ mouth, with said boy pushing her hand away.

“What did he do?”

“Nothing! He said nothing, well nothing unusual for Sirius.. Just his usual annoyingness.”

While the girl was floundering, after her brother’s simple question. Sirius leans down to his brother, whispering, “I don’t know how it’s been a secret this long.”

!! I do not support JKR, which is why I enjoy Harry Potter exclusively through fan content and other means that don't put any more money in her pockets !!

That being said, this idea has been kicking around in the back of my head for months.

I'm honestly surprised almost nobody has done this crossover. I looked it up and there's maybe 7 or 8 fanfics and 12 pieces of fanart on all of tumblr, deviantart, fanfiction.net, and ao3 in total that combine Death Note and Harry Potter. It seems like it should be a more popular AU considering the overlap in time period and target demographic.

Alright, now here are some headcanons:

Light:

5th year

Was supposed to go to Slytherin, but convinced the sorting hat to put him in Gryffindor instead (that's where his father went, after all)

Wants to eliminate the death eaters and all dark wizards by any means necessary (as well as anyone who looks at him funny)

Is against unforgivable curses except when he uses them, because he totally has good reasons you guys

Nearly was able to get all three deathly hallows for himself

Good at persuasion, memory charms, and making polyjuice potion

Keeps killing so many others who are also trying to fight Voldemort for not being willing to murder as much as he is

He was disappointed (he wanted to be in Hufflepuff for the snacks)

kept breaking the dress code by "forgetting" his socks, sweater, and shoes so he mastered illusion spells solely for the purpose of cloaking it look like he was wearing the uniform correctly and not getting in trouble

Doesn't talk to anyone but somehow knows all their secrets (he was spying on them using an invisibility cloak, crystal ball, etc)

His parents are unknown and dead so nobody knows how to be blood-racist to him

Lawlight:

L and Light constantly try to one up each other at wizard chess supposedly to show their superiority but really it's to impress each other

L got his hands on an invisibility cloak so he could follow Light around and spy on him but Light used the marauders map to figure out that L was following him

they won't admit their feelings for each other

Light started dating Misa (Hufflepuff) to beat the gay allegations but she realized what he was doing and decided to slip him a love potion to force him to love her back. L was the only person who noticed and begrudgingly decided to help Light by reporting her. Light confessed his feelings for L after that.

behold my original g1 shockwaves!!! One in shit quality and another in very good quality I received recently. I believe it’s rather obvious I do quite enjoy Shockwave, but I rarely (if ever) look at fanart or fandom depictions of him since I happen to like a very very specific version of shockwave i see under represented:

I’d argue flamboyant asshole shockwave is most present in the marvel comics (possibly skybound? ‘Tickles me purple’ etc etc) and I never see it discussed. I either see fandom shockwave made hyper unemotional - and by that - commonly hyper masculine (hilarious interpretation giving his general shape and demeanor but you do you), or surprisingly…. Un-shockwave-like? It’s hard to get that sweet spot. I suppose I’m just exceedingly picky but I think shockwave should be a conniving freak.

While purely logical characters can be quite interesting, you have to utilize them in an interesting way to *make* them interesting, and I don’t see that happening in most official media for this guy.

I’m sickkk of him being the wizard who did it. I’m so accustomed to him being turned into a MacGuffin or a plot device it irritates me quite thoroughly. Paired with his “lack of ability to feel”, it is very hard to write an emotionless character, so in most all writings of this archetype it is often able to be read as someone who is not unfeeling, but has instead convinced themselves they cannot feel. That’s why I adore marvel shockwave

His character bio, while also specifying he has a nuclear reactor in his chest for some reason (an explanation for his bust size or possibly sources from the electronics in his chest compartment on his original toy????) , makes sure to note that shockwave does not fan his ego, and relies purely on logic. After you begin reading the marvel comics it’s really obvious that that’s bullshit 💀

As someone who had never read harrymort before no glory, be scared to read it. Be scared because once you read it, your life will be an empty shell of endless no glory thoughts that will not be answered for months. Be scared to read it because after, you will search tirelessly through ao3 to find another harrymort fic that can measure up to the masterpiece of no glory and be unable to find any. Be scared because you will find urself unable to imagine how Voldemort can redeem himself (if u know u know #forest) but at the same time, be unable to picture Harry without him. If all these things do not scare you, then be worried that straight ao3 smut can no longer measure up to gay wizard porn after reading. If after all this you think u can read no glory knowing you will not get another chapter, let alone the 20-30 left for however long, then you should definetly read it.

What’s it with people nowadays wanting to control how every fic and or hc should be portrayed?? Imo the whole thing about the marauder fandom that makes it interesting is the fact that there is such little actual cannon things to go on for some characters or practically nonexistent things and that it’s essentially a blank canvas already set in a well known universe and “developed” background. It’s literally free rein to portray whatever characters however you like, and such the ships (platonic and romantic) and dynamics. Which means there is such variety in how characters are shown - whilst also having a big enough fandom that some people agree on certain hcs and include them in a number of fics.

Sure, you personally may not share a writers same views and opinions on a character or ship but that doesn’t mean everyone else around you has to agree with you, or you them!

And yes, some things may not be seen as “realistic” or “time period accurate” but for the love of god, we’re talking about a universe with a bunch of dead WIZARDS - along side werewolves and the ability to become a shape shifting animal at will… the last thing about the basis of the fandom is a far cry from realism.

there have been plenty of fanfics or hcs that i have just personally disagreed with, but rather than kick off at a writer for being incorrect… you can simply stop reading and find another fic that does suit your needs.

Writing is about creativity and just writing whatever the fuck you want, regardless of how shit or amazing it may be. Not about stomping on people who don’t write exactly how you do or how you like

So I’m very autistic about music and I loved how succession made Kendall’s music taste have so much character and be so accurate to who he is and who he thinks he is, which made me start thinking about the other siblings listening to music. I just cannot imagine it. I can’t imagine Roman putting on his little AirPod and opening up a Spotify playlist or putting on posters in his room for a certain thing. The idea of shiv being into drill and grime is extremely funny to me. my personal read on roman’s whole Deal is that he has the least “life of his own” of the siblings. even his reputation / the rumors about him (that he’s a playboy who loves coke) are the least accurate to his actual behavior and preferences (esp when contrasted with ken’s public takedowns which hurt his feelings precisely Because they’re often true). it’s difficult for me to imagine roman having strong personal taste in….. pretty much anything, even when he sees his choices symbolically (“i want steak” speech in america decides). in the end, roman is most interested in cultivating an image of himself that is going to be the most protective of his true desire for authenticity and connection, but we know that he has no idea what to do with himself when he is confronted with an opportunity to actually “express himself”.

all this to say, it is very difficult for me to imagine roman sincerely enjoying music/art without a level of detachment, irony, or jokey judgement. if he likes certain sounds, i couldn’t see him singing along like kendall in the backseat. maybe a handful of songs are nostalgic for him, maybe some post-hardcore (…. fugazi….. honestly……) or even MAYBE some britpop or eurodance from the european half of his childhood. he wouldn’t allow himself true sentimentality with it though. he certainly knows all of the lyrics to a few songs bc he’s very In the World, esp culturally impactful songs, but he just seems like a guy who fucking hates bohemian raphsody. he knows who the pinball wizard is but i can viscerally feel his frown at hearing the baba o’reilly opener in a shop. he simply would never admit to loving a band, let alone buy a t-shirt! (i think i get a little annoyed generally with assumptions about roman that cast him as even a little bit twee just because he’s silly. look at how he actually dresses. this man would not paint his nails or have a charm on his phone. you’re thinking of kieran culkin!)

will you ever draw masc sirius? not to compare artists but recently i've just noticed masc sirius pics get more notes and ppl get more pissed off bc of fem sirius. it's ok if you draw fem wolfstar (fem sirius AND fem remus) but it's kinda weird you only draw remus masc. kinda heteronormative. when wolf is gay. plus canonically sirius was masc and remus was fem (sirius was the biker and remus was short.) it's ok you're more into fanon but canon is real so i'm just curious if you will ever draw masc sirius. if you will it'll be very cool and i'm sure you'll get more notes too.

This is the LAST time I'm going to be talking about this because I'm so TIRED of this debate.

Firstly, the "canon" you speak of is written by this person. So think before you start arguing anything about canon.

Then, since apparently some of you still cannot read. I DO NOT DRAW FOR YOU; I DRAW FOR ME. I could not care less about notes or likes or popularity. I'm just here to have fun and enjoy my time. That you are so concerned about notes is your own problem, not mine, but I suggest you change that because notes do not equal any sort of value, and this mindset is just going to be bad for anyone's mental health.

My favourite thing as a person whose gender is literally all over the place is getting to express that through the characters I draw. For ME, this mainly happens through Sirius because his "canon" is this very HETERONORMATIVE man. The freedom of him being able to step away from that and to be allowed to be whatever he wants to be on that day is just wonderful. Sirius, for me, is a reminder that no matter what you're born as or whatever people say you should be, it does not say anything about how you feel or express yourself.

Remus will forever keep evolving for me. He's also allowed to be whoever he wants to be. When I read fics he looks different in every single one. And if you actually paid attention to my art, you can see that he does not always look the same. For me, Remus is a comfort. He will always be a long, wet noodle with bad knees to me. He will always have his scars and his freckles, and those are what make him beautiful. I'm not sure why people immediately assume this is something that makes him "the man" or "the top". If that's what you're thinking when you see them, then there's something gone wrong on your side because you are deciding what a queer relationship is supposed to look like, when in fact you are the one being homophobic and heteronormative.

Also that my Sirius is shorter and more gender-y so to say, does not mean he can't kill a bitch on sight. He could break Remus in half in a second if he wanted to.
