The lovers doesn't just represent lovers, but also other relationships. I had the younger versions of them on the inverted card, because conpeting to become L's successors drove them to rivalry, and the right-side up card represents them working together more in the end to take down Light

Day two: the hermit+memory

The hermit in tarot is depicted usually with a long cloak and a lantern, so I gave Near a lantern.

I was thinking about how Ohba said that Near is a sensitive person who shuts himself off from the world, and the Hermit upside down represents self-isolation and anxiety, so that's why Near is upside down.

I was also thinking about Near making tarot cards for people and making one of L as a way of remembering him.
