Sirius: You do know she has a crush on you, right? Remus: What? Sirius: Tonks. Do you have eyes? Remus: She’s young, energetic, open. It feels like she flirts with life itself. Sirius: Yeah. And right now, she’s flirting with you. Remus: Don’t be ridiculous. She’s just nice. Sirius: I don’t think you’ve actually seen the way she looks at you. Remus: Oh? Like she looks at you? Sirius: She looks at me like I’m a shaggy mutt that’s fun to pet. She looks at you like—hell, I don’t know—the romantic lead in her life.” Remus: You’re exaggerating! Sirius scoffed and leaned his head back against the couch. He’d sooner throw himself off a flying hippogriff than admit that Tonks’s interest in Remus bothered him. Hell, it didn’t just bother him—it pissed him off.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR. BOWIE 💌
Here is some fun headcanon for older wolfstar 🥹
They always celebrate David Bowies birthday. Every year. They smoke some w33d and listen to every album Bowie has ever published. After that they always go out dancing until 6am. EXCEPT when you're suddenly old, and too stoned to even leave the house. 😂 Teddy will totally give them shit for it.
AND I wanted to make their stupid little dream reality, too. MEETING BOWIE. Well...they met....somehow....
Let me know what you think of it ❤️
They are still soooo in love I could cry. Well...I did...indeed...

”It would be a hundred times easier
If we were young again
But as it is
And it is
We're just two slow dancers, last ones out
We're two slow dancers, last ones out”
This song is so older wolfstar coded, I’m breaking my own heart

Prompt 13 - Woo
@wolfstarmicrofic February 13, word count 265
“What’s all this?” Remus asked as he removed his heavy bag from his shoulder and hung it on the hook by the door along with his coat and scarf. He kicked his shoes off and placed them neatly on the shoe rack.
“I am attempting to woo you with a romantic evening,” Sirius called through from the kitchen. Remus couldn’t help but feel touched as he followed the trail of rose petals through to the kitchen.
“Sirius, we’re like a thousand years old. The kids will be back any second, and all I want is a hot bath.” Remus sighed, wrapping his arms around Sirius’s waist and kissing him sweetly on the lips.
“Age is an illusion,” Sirius scoffed. Besides, the kids are at Lily and James’s, keeping their cousin Harry on his toes. They will be staying there the entire night, and your bubble bath is already run. Here.” Sirius turned in Remus’s arms and held out a plate of steaming pasta and a tall glass of wine. “Take this and enjoy your bath. I’ll be waiting in the bedroom for you when you’re done.” Sirius reached up on his tiptoes to kiss Remus on the cheek.
Remus watched him go and was surprised when Sirius let the dressing gown he’d been wearing slip from his shoulders to pool in the doorway, and he was completely naked beneath. Remus immediately put down his dinner and ran after Sirius. Dinner could wait. He couldn’t remember the last time they had more than five minutes to themselves, and he wasn’t about to waste a single second.

post-war wolfstar is so fascinating to me. two boys that were friends who cared for each other, sure, but that was all. ordinary teenage boyhood, maybe the odd romantic thought here and there, but easily forgettable. friends. until they weren’t. until sirius was living with remus, almost twenty years after the last time they did. until they were forced to be alone together, and reassess their friendship in a different world as different people.
dear friends that had never existed without the other two. because it was sirius and james, and remus and peter. james fit with them all, peter didn’t fit with any, but who were they to question it? not once did they think they would live a life without them. and they were friends, and they cared for each other, but remus understood peter; the urge to linger quietly, let the louder boys carry the conversation, cling to their words and to their protection. and sirius was james’ other half; he knew him better than anyone else, could finish his sentences before they even escaped his mouth. remus and sirius? they were the leftover puzzle pieces. with enough force, it could work, but it never quite slotted in right.
they had no reason to be close, beyond what living together and having the same set of friends did. sirius was jagged and sharp, sometimes too bright to look at. he could be cruel, mean to hide the hurt inside. his barbs were like lashes, always defensive, always sensitive. remus had never liked it. remus was curved, moulding into whatever they wanted. he was quiet because he believed he had to be, to keep the the friendships he valued the most. he believed he was nothing without his friends, after all. he would always let it slide, always let them get away with anything, and never say a word. sirius had never liked it.
they didn’t quite fit until they were all each other had left. until sirius - angry, loud, cocky sirius - and remus - quiet, bookish, pushover remus - weren’t the boys that left hogwarts. until war and death had their claws in two boys and ruined the people they could have been. until solitude hardened their hearts into mere shades of the bright-eyed boys of 1971.
and sirius, who had always been handsome, suddenly seemed more beautiful when the barbs out of his mouth were protecting a boy with james’ hair and lily’s eyes — when he defended, instead of antagonised. and remus had never been more attractive than in order meetings, still quiet but with steel in his voice because he was not afraid of what it could bring him, not when silence had ruined his friendships in the last war — when he stood his ground, instead of turning away.
they were not the same, not anymore, and yet fit better than they ever had. the puzzle had changed, and their jagged edges lined up perfectly. the lonely werewolf. the azkaban escapee. remus lupin. sirius black. and these odd pieces, left in the dust of war, found each other in the aftermath. sirius had never quite understood remus until he was the one clinging to letters from his godson, locked away like a caged animal. and remus had never understood sirius, not until the injustice made his blood boil, anger seeping from his skin for the crimes against his friend. they were older, slightly wiser, and willing to find each other, trust each other, and love more than they ever had before — because they never knew how much they needed the other until they were gone.
and they loved, they loved so much, until it all came for them too.

First Love
‘What about you Sirius?’
‘Well,’ Sirius pulls Remus further against him, dropping a kiss onto his head. ‘About forty-five years ago there was this boy… freckled skin, curly hair, amber eyes. Liked to read. Liked me. And I thought yeh, he’s perfect. And that was it! My first and last love.’
James rolled his eyes fondly, ‘You sap.’
‘Always been mooning for Moony,’ Marlene added.
‘Remus what about you?’ Lily asked, hand on James’ thigh.
Remus smiled and sat up a little. ‘Well,’ he started, ‘About forty-five years ago there was this boy…’ Remus shuffled round to face Sirius and cupped his face in both hands, starring into his eyes. ‘You are so beautiful,’ he whispered and Sirius smiled.
‘Even after forty-five years?’
‘Even after forty-five years.’
There was a collective ‘Awww,’ from around the room.
‘So Sirius was your first love too then?’ Dorcas practically cooed.
Remus just continued to stare at Sirius, watching as the familiar pink flush spread over his cheeks and he tucked a silver strand of once-black hair behind Sirius’ ear, stroking over his cheek bone with the fingers of the other hand.
‘Nah,’ he said suddenly, turning back round, throwing his hands behind his head and kicking his feet up on the coffee table. ‘A bloke called Glenn sucked me off round the back of the pub when I was about fifteen.’
Sirius lunged for him, pulling him back into his lap. ‘Oof my back,’ he grimaced as he tried to rearrange Remus’ legs. ‘You’re a menace, you know that? Take that back.’
‘You’re such a melon,’ Remus kissed Sirius’ nose, ‘Who do you think I was thinking about when Glenn had my cock in his mouth?’

Clench
(a bit of birthday spice for Remus)
Sirius let go of him and rolled them both to the side so he wasn’t crushing Remus with his weight. Remus stayed close and breathed him in as their skin cooled. He was pleasantly sated and wrung out, lying there in their afterglow.
They were still joined but Sirius slipped from him as he softened even as Remus gave a half hearted clench to delay the empty feeling. But then, Sirius shifted and he turned to face his husband. They kissed languidly, like the slow, sweet drip of honey.
Remus ran his fingers through the sweaty strands of Sirius’s hair. Sirius leaned into the touch like he always did, sighing softly. He splayed his hand on Remus’s lower back, pushing them closer, until they were entwined again.
“Happy birthday, Moony…” Sirius whispered, a delicious rasp apparent in his voice as they continued kissing.
“Thank you, darling,” Remus said, running his thumb along Sirius’s jaw. It was rough with salt and pepper stubble.
“You don’t look a day over 35.”
Remus snorted. “Flatterer. I wasn’t completely grey at 35.”
“I like it. You’ve aged like a fine wine, Moonshadow.”
It was on the tip of his tongue to respond with something self-deprecating, but Sirius’s silver eyes were so earnest and full of love that he stopped himself and just smiled. “Good thing for you that I like wine.”
Sirius barked a laugh and rolled over so he was on top, pinning Remus against the pillows. He kissed him again pressing into Remus’s hips. He moved his hand between them and Remus’s breath caught. “So do I,” he said.

29th January - First time - @wolfstarmicrofic - word count: 243
If he was honest with himself - and Sirius always tried to be as the best guard against the censure of others was a keen-eyed observation of his own shortcomings - he would have recognised the ache behind his rib cage for what it was.
The fierce need to be Remus' first.
And a gnawing jealousy at the idea that he wasn't.
It wasn't reasonable. Nor was it flattering. But it was there - a desperate, stricken feeling that made him tremble in a way he tried to hide behind the kisses he confidently trailed against Remus' jawline.
He wanted to ask:
"Have there been others?"
"Have they touched you?"
"Tell me what they did to you so I can go one better."
But the words were choked by his own desire. His hands faltered a little as they sought the familiar and unfamiliar contours of his friend's lean body.
He wanted this.
He feared this.
The air was sucked from his lungs.
Remus paused, breathless, and with characteristic restraint he whispered in the darkness, "We can stop. We don't have to. We can wait."
A momentary hesitation. Sirius stood on the precipice. Behind stretched years of yearning. Ahead was the unknown. He wound his fingers through the hair at the nape of Remus' neck. His heart thudded in his throat as he heard his own voice as though it was someone else's - raw, unguarded, and thick with desire - as he finally confessed, "No. I can't."

Closing Space
Sirius taps the end of his cigarette against the edge of the ashtray, watching the embers flicker and fall, tiny stars dying against the glass. The typewriter in front of him is old, a Muggle thing Remus picked up years ago, keys worn down from fingers pressing story after story into its bones. It reminds him of Remus himself—stubborn, reliable, carrying the weight of every word ever laid upon it.
Remus sits across from him, hunched over a stack of parchment, quill scratching as he writes. His hair falls into his eyes, longer than it used to be, threaded with more silver than gold now. Sirius wants to reach over and tuck it behind his ear, but that would break the spell, and right now, they are both caught in it—this quiet moment, this space carved out of time.
There was a time when everything felt infinite. When they were young, drinking cheap firewhisky in dimly lit flats, stealing cigarettes from muggle shops just for the thrill. When every word they wrote felt like a declaration, a rebellion, a promise. They had moved toward time then, racing against it, trying to outpace the inevitable.
Now, time moves toward them.
The war is over, but the scars it left behind are deep, etched into their skin, their bones, the way Remus’ hands shake sometimes when he thinks no one is looking, the way Sirius still startles at the sound of footsteps in the hall. The way they write—clear, fast, hard—as if trying to hold onto something before it disappears.
Sirius exhales smoke and watches as it curls toward the ceiling. "You still like this old thing?" he asks, nodding toward the typewriter.
Remus looks up, smiling faintly. "It has history," he says.
"So do we."
Remus' gaze softens, and for a moment, they just look at each other. The words they don’t say press into the space between them.
Sirius stubs out his cigarette and reaches for the typewriter, pressing down on a key, listening to the sharp snap of metal against paper. Each letter is an anchor, a tether, a mark proving they are still here.
Still writing.
Still breathing.
Still.

Heartbroken (Feb 16th)
word count: 531
@wolfstarmicrofic
Remus and Sirius are sitting across from each other in a cafe that serves the best breakfast Sirius has ever had. It’s absurdly early, the sun is not completely up in the sky, and the both of them are sweaty and miserable. At least, Sirius feels sweaty and miserable.
“Do you feel good right now?” Sirius asks, stirring sugar into his coffee.
Remus snorts. “I feel miserable.”
Sirius raises his cup of coffee for a pseudo toast. “Hear, hear.”
“Why would someone do something so energy consuming at five thirty in the morning?” Remus blinks, slumping in his chair. “I am so sore. And tired. How did you convince me to go?”
Sirius scoffs. “As if. It was your idea, darling babe. You wanted us to get into working out this year.” Sirius considers for a moment. “It wasn’t a bad workout class, honestly. Just rather intense.”
“And too loud and dark. Ugh. I can't believe I still have to go through an entire day.”
Sirius laughs. “That’s a funny sentence.”
Remus blinks again. “I have to teach in a couple of hours. Do you know how much fun I have teaching?”
Sirius raises an eyebrow. “You love teaching.”
“I do,” Remus says, nodding miserably. “Just not after a high intensity– what is it that we did, again?”
“I’m not sure,” Sirius says. He rotates his shoulder and it pops. “All I know is I really underestimated how much it would kick my ass.”
“And to think we were teen Quidditch athletes a few lifetimes ago.”
Sirius laughs, shaking his head. “Don’t remind me, you’ll break my heart.”
Remus smiles and Sirius is in love with the smile lines around his eyes. “I know we’re not that peppy right now, but I think we kicked that workout’s ass as much as it kicked ours.”
Sirius nods. “Yeah, definitely.”
Remus looks at his watch. “When does your shift start?”
Sirius cringes. “I forgot about that.”
“You forgot about your job?”
Sirius smiles. “Yeah. I have a twelve hour shift today.”
“Oh no,” Remus says, sounding entirely too mortified.
Sirius snorts. “It’s not that bad. It’s mostly just healing broken bones and runny noses this time of year.”
Remus shudders. “Oh, how I love teaching. Thank you for reminding me.”
“Anytime, Re,” Sirius says. He takes a biteful of his eggs. “I don’t necessarily want to do what we did this morning ever again, but this is nice. Spending more time in the morning with you.”
Remus throws his straw wrapper at Sirius. He’s smiling when he says, “You’re being entirely too sentimental for six thirty in the damn morning. Finish your breakfast.”
“Aye aye, cap–”
“We could do something less sweaty if you want. Next time.”
Sirius grins. “Oh, you can’t get enough of me, can you?”
Remus makes a show of moving out of his chair. “I will go home without you.”
Sirius reaches out for Remus’ hand and holds it. “Don’t. You’re the best part of my morning.”
Remus’ eyes soften. “You are, as well. Always.” He winks playfully. “Don’t tell anyone, though.”
Sirius mimics sewing his mouth shut. This is the best morning Sirius has had in a while.
