Golden trio
It was the 90's! Yeah babe!
I read a head canon saying Harry hated tight clothes after his childhood with the Dursley, always wearing Dudley's too big for him stuff. So here he is in his baggy!
Hermione's in high colored outfit
And Ron with the inevitable combo backpack/army jacket.

First Date (January 5th)
word count: 486
@wolfstarmicrofic
“You know what I realized the other night,” Sirius says absentmindedly, biting his lower lip. The wall he just finished painting is way too streaky for his liking and he’s not sure he knows any spells to fix a streaky wall.
“What did you realize?” Remus asks. Sirius can’t see Remus as he’s staring at the honestly worst paint job he’s seen in his life. Remus’ job is to build baby Harry’s crib and Sirius hopes Remus’ building skills are better than his painting ones. If only to avoid Lily murdering the both of them.
“Do you think we can fix this?” Sirius asks, finally turning around to look at Remus for the directions of properly painting a stupid wall. Remus is on the floor surrounded by all the small crib parts and screws and the sight of him makes Sirius feel better about his shitty wall.
Remus looks at Sirius. “Fix what?”
“I realized that I don’t really know what to consider as our first date,” Sirius says, remembering to finish his first sentence.
“What?” Remus blinks. “Why is that wall so ugly?”
Sirius scoffs. “As if. Why is there no standing crib yet?”
Remus looks thoughtful. “I’ve always considered the time we spent doing homework on top of the Astronomy Tower as dates. In their own special and awkward way. So I guess our first date was during, what was it, third year?”
“No way those were dates,” Sirius says. “We barely spoke and were actually doing homework.”
“There is no standing crib because these instructions are so stupid.” Remus huffs, crumpling what Sirius assumes is the instructions manual.
Sirius grins. He gives up on his wall for now and sits cross-legged in front of Remus. “Do you think it’s a smart idea to get rid of that?”
Remus throws the crumpled piece of paper in Sirius’ direction. He’s also smiling. “Work on fixing that horrendous wall, my love.”
“I think our first date was when we spent that winter break at Hogwarts in fifth year and you taught me how to crochet.”
Remus cocks his head to the side. “I forgot we did that. That was fun.”
Sirius nods. “Yeah.”
“Why not consider our first date that new year’s eve party we ditched then snuck into Hogsmeade and you showed me how to recognize all those constellations.”
“Because we weren’t dating yet in fourth year,” Sirius says, then laughs. “Though stargazing is pretty damn romantic. How weren’t we dating then?”
Remus smiles. He kisses Sirius’ cheek and gets up. “Here’s the plan: I go get some cute wallpaper and you try and have something resembling a built crib before James and Lily come back.”
“Aye, aye, captain,” Sirius says, uncrumpling the crib instructions. He pauses. “You know, I did spend those Astronomy Tower nights thinking about your cool scars and dreamy eyes so they might as well be considered dates.”
Remus laughs. “Sure.”

First Lie (January 4th)
word count: 370
@wolfstarmicrofic
Remus was so elated when Dumbledore himself told him he could enroll in Hogwarts despite being a werewolf that he never really paused to think about the technicalities of it all.
The full moon in an unfamiliar place away from home was brutal the first time. Remus woke up the next day in much more pain than he was accustomed to. He spent the better part of a week in the hospital ward sleeping.
The only good thing about the whole experience was that Remus met the matron, Madam Pomfrey, and she was delightful.
Remus dragged himself to his dorm room a full nine days after the full moon. He was tired and he really missed his own bed. And his friends. He didn’t even want to think about all the homework that’s piled up alrea–
“Remus?” Sirius Black said, getting up from in front of the fireplace in the Gryffindor common room and crowding Remus’ personal space. “Salazar. I mean, Godric. Are you okay?”
The common room was mostly empty, with only a few fifth and sixth years scribbling away on parchment. The common room was maybe Remus’ favorite place in Hogwarts and he felt like he could breathe a little easier. He let out a shaky breath.
“Sirius,” Remus greeted. His voice was scratchier than he would have liked. He coughed. “Why are you still up?”
Sirius looked at him funny. “Are you okay, Remus? What happened? Where were you?”
Remus realized then that he was in a predicament he hadn’t anticipated. Mostly because he hadn’t anticipated having friends at Hogwarts. How would he explain this?
“I think I caught something,” Remus lied, trying not to make it too obvious. “It was pretty nasty. I’m okay now, though.” Remus paused. “Also, definitely not contagious, if you’re wondering.” Not unless there was a full moon in the night sky, at least.
Sirius patted Remus on the back. “I’m glad– I mean, we’re glad that you’re okay. You can study from my notes to catch up. James will tell you to use his notes but they suck so just use mine.”
Remus smiled. He hadn’t anticipated having friends but having friends was shaping out to be great. “Thank you, Sirius.”

Me, as a kid:
"I’m definitely going to grow up to be the cool, mysterious one like Sirius Black."
Me, now:
chronically tired, perpetually broke, living off tea and biscuits, wearing the same sweater for three days
"Oh no. I’m the sad werewolf."

First time meeting the parents (January 3rd)
word count: 600
@wolfstarmicrofic
Sirius isn’t sure how to feel.
He should probably feel happy to see Remus after not seeing him since the start of winter break, but he really doesn’t want to see Remus here of all places.
Sirius hates the house he grew up in and he hates thinking that Remus might hate it even more. Speaking of which, where is Remus, anyway? Surely he should have arrived by now–
“Will you stop fidgeting, brother?” Regulus says softly. Both brothers are standing in the corner of the crowded Grimmauld Place parlour room. Their father is entertaining some of his colleagues in the Ministry and Remus’ father was invited. Remus told Sirius in his last letter that he might accompany his father. On an unrelated note, Sirius might puke. “I’m sure your boyfriend will be here shortly.”
“Remus isn’t my boyfriend,” Sirius says automatically. Then he realizes that Regulus didn’t even say Remus’ name and tries not to flush. Sirius changes the subject. “Say, you didn’t grow up here.”
Regulus blinks. “What?”
“Say, this is the first time you enter this house. What would you think about it?”
Regulus blinks again. “You want me to– Well, it is very gothic-esque, if I say so. Very dark. The Tell-Tale Heart could be set in this very parlour room. Some of the wall art is questionable, to say the least. Horrifying, even. But I do rather like that aesthetic. Some say it suits me, so I don’t mind it all that much–”
SIrius’ heart sinks. He catches Remus’ pretty curly hair in the dimly-lit room and he’s standing next to Sirius’ mother.
This is the worst night of Sirius’ life.
Sirius hands Regulus his drink and clears his throat. “Sure, sure. Dark, dismal, dreary, and cold. I think so too, it’s all rather cliche – see you later, Reg.”
Sirius reaches both Remus and his mother in record speed. Sirius doesn’t think he’s ever considered Remus and Walburga existing in the same universe before, so this is peculiar to say the least.
“Remus!” He greets, then he cringes because his voice is rather loud. “Mother.”
Walburga acknowledges him. “It is terribly rude to interrupt a conversation in this manner, Sirius.”
“Happy new year, Sirius,” Remus says, smiling, and Walburga might as well have disappeared from the face of the earth. She doesn't matter, nothing else really matters, not the stupid uninviting house or the horrendous paintings on the wall or–
“Have you hit your head somewhere, Sirius?” Walburga asks, bewildered. “What are you staring at?”
Sirius blinks. His mother is looking at him inquisitively. Sirius snaps out of it. “I’m sorry, mother.”
Walburga shakes her head then turns to look at Remus. “It was nice meeting you, Mr Lupin. I apologize for my son’s rather odd behavior. Please enjoy your night.” She then leaves.
Sirius blinks, then turns to Remus. “Did you actually get Walburga Black to like you?”
Remus grins, and it’s blinding. “How horrified do you think she'd be if she found out about my lunar predicament?”
Sirius blinks again. “Did she just tell you to enjoy your night? Remus, did you hex my mother into becoming a pleasant individual?”
Remus laughs. “Sure.”
“Happy new year to you too, Re,” Sirius says. “Let’s go get drunk.”
Remus laughs again. “Sure. How’s your break been, Sirius?”
“Just great,” Sirius says. “Monday cannot come quickly enough.”
Remus nods. “Yeah. I’ve missed you.”
Sirius smiles. He no longer knows why he was so nervous in the first place. He somehow forgot that this is Remus. “I’ve missed you, too, Re. Let me show you around.”

Trunk (October 6th)
word count: 411
@wolfstarmicrofic
Remus shakes his hand. “There is no way I’m ever admitting any of that.” He’s feeling warm and happy and like everything is strangely okay in the world. Gryffindor has just won a Quidditch match (Remus scored more than he did the entirety of last season) and there’s a party in the common room and this is usually not Remus’ scene but he’s having fun.
Also, Sirius likes him.
“Why not?” Sirius asks, looking absolutely gorgeous. His hair is still a little damp from the shower he took after the game (Sirius also had a really good game– all of them did. Go Gryffindor!) and it’s getting frizzy around his ears. Sirius is sitting close next to Remus on one of the common room couches and he's talking in Remus' ear so that he can actually hear him through the noise all around.
“It’s embarrassing,” Remus says. “I did some really embarrassing things when I had a crush on you.”
Sirius shrugs, grinning. “So did I. I carved our initials together on every single desk I’ve ever sat on and on a thousand tree trunks and even on one of the shelves in the library back home.”
“Cute,” Remus says. “I was the one that wrote you that anonymous love letter in Third Year.”
Sirius’ eyes widen. “No!”
Remus laughs. “I told you. I was crazy.”
“You weren’t crazy,” Sirius says. “And I adore that love letter. It’s so romantic.”
Remus makes a face.
Sirius grins. “I love it ten thousand times more now I know it’s from you.”
Remus coughs. He drinks from the butterbear bottle he's holding because he suddenly feels like he has to do something with his hands.
“You had a crush on me in Third Year?”
Remus flushes. He smiles and says, “No.”
“Sure, Moons.”
“When did you like me?” Remus asks.
“I’ve always liked you,” Sirius says automatically. He blinks. “Oh, you mean when– Fourth Year, I think.”
“Really?”
Sirius nods. “I remember specifically after we spent winter break at the Potter’s it just dawned on me all of a sudden and I was like, ‘oh’. It was all so confusing.”
Remus chuckles. “I can imagine.”
The next morning, when Remus wakes up, there is a floating pink letter right in front of his face. There are small, heart-shaped clouds flying around the letter and near Remus’ head and all over their dorm room, really. Remus beams when he realizes who the letter is from.

Folklore (October 5th)
word count: 819
@wolfstarmicrofic
“This is so unlike her!” Harry says, rubbing his eyes. His hair is a mess and he looks incredibly stressed. Harry, Sirius, and Remus are sitting around the Potters’ kitchen table.
“That is the joy of being fifteen, isn’t it?” Sirius asks. “Trying to figure out who you are and being unbelievably stupid in the process?”
“I don’t remember that part really well.”
“We do,” Remus says, grinning. Sirius grins as well. “I remember you being fifteen and stupid so well.”
“Not reporting a scum teacher or even just telling us about it, for example,” Sirius says. “While Remus worked at the very same school. What were you thinking, babe?”
“Creating an army as an after school club.”
“Let’s not even get into the ‘everyone hates me and I hate everyone’ winter phase because that was–”
“Okay, okay,” Harry says, thumping his head on the table. “I get it,” he mumbles.
Remus looks at Sirius and laughs. He clears his throat. “This isn’t such a big deal, Harry, love. You’re a good dad. And Lily’s a lovely kid.”
Harry groans. “Well, she doesn’t like me all that much right now. She’s grounded.”
Sirius whistles. “You had the heart to ground Lily?”
“You horrendous human being,” Remus comments.
Harry’s head hits the kitchen table once again. “I feel horrible about it, but she did run away from Hogwarts.” His voice is muffled. He raises his head. “Do you think I’m being too harsh with her?”
Remus just smiles. Sirius says, “Oh, yes. You’re horrible. How could you–”
“We’ll go talk to her, okay?” Remus says, cutting Sirius off.
“Please,” Harry says. “Thank you guys. Love you.”
“Boohoo, Harry.”
“Do they tell you everything?” Lily Luna says when she opens her bedroom door.
Sirius flicks her forehead. “Hello to you too, Lily, love.” He enters her room, Remus closely behind.
“Hi, Remus,” Lily says. She slams the door behind them.
“Ouch. What did the poor door do to you?”
“Remus gets a ‘hi’ and I don’t? I see how it is, Flora.”
Lily sighs, all melodramatic and angsty, and sits on top of her desk. Sirius sits on the edge of the bed and Remus on the desk chair.
“I know what I did was irresponsible and I won’t do it again, okay?” Lily talks as she does something on her computer.
“And you sound so sincere,” Sirius says.
Lily rolls her eyes. She looks at Remus then at Sirius. “I missed you guys. Do you want to listen to music with me?”
Sirius smiles despite himself. “Awe, Lavender, love, we’ve missed you too.”
“What are you listening to?” Remus asks.
“Sad music, mostly” Lily says, grinning. “I’m sulking.”
“You’re sulking?” Sirius asks. “You ran away from Hogwarts and skipped classes and got a tattoo. Poor Harry’s having an existential crisis. He should be sulking.”
“I didn’t get a tattoo,” Lily says.
“I know.” Sirius winks. “I just wanted to make you sound cooler than you actually are, Daisy.”
Lily sighs. “I just walked around muggle London for a little while. Had coffee. And also, there was this fairy circle in someone’s front porch that I just had to sit in.” Lily pauses. “Even though now I remember Trelawney telling us not to do that when we were going over different Folklore stories. What do you think happens to people who sit in fairy circles?”
“I guess you’ll find out, won’t you?” Remus says lightly. “And we’re not saying that the things you did after sneaking out were wrong. Though the trespassing and angering fairies is a little questionable I think. We’re more worried about the sneaking out part itself.”
“Your dad went nuts. Ginny nearly brought Hogwarts to the ground looking for you.”
“We were worried, too,” Remus says. “We didn’t know if you just ran off or if something had happened to you.”
Lily bites her lips and looks down. “I am sorry. I didn’t mean to– I mean, I didn’t think it would be a big deal. I just wanted to get away for a little while.”
“And that’s okay, Jasmine, babe,” Sirius says. “Hell, just floo to our house next time. Or at least tell someone where you’re going. Albus or James or whoever.”
“So we know that you’re safe,” Remus adds. “Also– so that Harry doesn’t go gray so soon.”
“He’s already going gray,” Lily mumbles.
Sirius chuckles. “I can’t argue with you there, Hydrangea.”
“That’s not even a name,” Lily says. “And– I am sorry. I’ll talk to dad before I go back to Hogwarts tonight.”
Remus looks at Sirius then at Lily, and he smiles. “Thank you, Flower.”
“Oh, Merlin, not you too, Remus.”
Sirius laughs. “Go talk to your dad now, Marigold.”
“Will you take me to get a tattoo when I decide that I want one?” Lily asks as she gets off the desk.
“We’ll think about it, Dahlia. Now go away.”
