woke up with the lyrics from this song in my mind
#i got an epiphany tbh i realized i coped by villanizing someone to the point that id cry to the 'call me spineless but at least ive got#a heart between my lungs' like girl youre so dramatic sometimes. sometimes we're just not compatible with some people and thats fine#really like i dont need to villanize people so much i could just accept the situation as it is but noo i cope better by making them a joker#in my head. and maybe they are you know but sometimes it really isnt that deep. i should accept that people might love me and still not be#in my life. be it for their own reasons or because theyre emotionally immature. it doesnt make them a villain its just how it is sometimes#ive got to stop seeing things in such extremes#it really is just simple though. if someone loves you in a way you dont understand because they dont show it properly youre the one to#decide if thats love or not. i have a very strict definition of what i consider love so im very set on that#or maybe what happened with me came from a place of love but even in that case love wasnt enough#you need compassion patience and discipline too#and total acceptance of another person. i have to practice that more too#📝

YANDERE SHANKS AND MARINE READER
WARNINGS: GENDER NOT SPECIFIED + YANDERE THEMES + NOT PROOFREAD
NOTES: I was bored and came up with this monstrosity. I don’t even like Shanks.
At first, Shanks' obsession with you doesn’t hit like a cannonball to the chest. Nope, it's more like a quiet wave that barely brushes your ankles—annoying but harmless, right? Wrong. Soon enough, that wave becomes a full-blown tide, and before you know it, you're swept away. It all starts with his simple admiration. You’re not like the other Marines he’s encountered. You’ve got this unshakable sense of duty, a moral compass that actually points in the right direction unlike most in the Navy, and a discipline that, frankly, makes you a bit of an anomaly. Shanks finds it...fascinating. And it’s not like he immediately jumps into full-blown, yandere territory. No, no. This man’s descent into obsession is slow, methodical. You wouldn’t even notice it until you're waist-deep in his fixation, and by then? Well, good luck swimming out.
It starts small. Maybe it’s while he’s kicking back, drink in hand, surrounded by the raucous laughter of his crew. But instead of fully enjoying the moment, his mind drifts—to you. You, in that crisp Marine uniform, carrying out your duties like it’s second nature. He finds himself smiling at the thought, then catching himself like, “Wait, what?” It happens again at the tavern—he’s deep in conversation with Benn, but his thoughts are far from the present. Instead, he’s wondering where you are, what you’re doing, if you ever think about him too.
And it’s in these quiet moments that the discomfort starts to grow. You’re a Marine. He’s a pirate. There's a pretty solid line drawn between you two, and it's not one he can just ignore. But the idea that you might never see him as anything more than a "wanted man" eats at him. It starts as a nagging thought, just a small itch at the back of his mind. Then, suddenly, it’s a full-on irritation that won’t go away. But here’s the thing about Shanks—he’s got the patience of a saint. You won’t catch him spiraling out or throwing tantrums. Nah, he’s not that guy. If anything, he plays the long game—the long game. We're talking years, decades, lifetimes if need be. He’s not about to rush in, guns blazing. He’ll wait, chip away at your defenses bit by bit, while always keeping that charming grin plastered on his face like nothing’s wrong.
And don’t think for a second that his easy-going, laid-back nature means he’s going to let this slide. Oh no. He might not lose his temper, but that doesn’t mean he’s not making plans—subtle ones, of course. He's just waiting for the right moment to make you realize that he’s the only option. You might think you have freedom, but it’s all an illusion.
Shanks is a master of hiding those darker intentions behind that trademark grin of his. You know the one—the carefree, charismatic smile that makes it impossible to distrust him. It’s his greatest weapon, honestly. You’d never guess that behind all the jokes, the playful attitude, and the hearty laugh, there’s something a little more… possessiveness lurking. He’s a charmer, no doubt. And charm? Well, that’s just the perfect way to keep anyone, especially you, from suspecting a thing. During your encounters, he’ll engage in that easy, casual banter, as if you’re just two people having a friendly chat on opposite sides of the law. If you ever did get the faintest inkling that something was off, he’d wave it away with a quick joke or a playful comment, and bam—you’re laughing before you even realize it. Suspicion? What suspicion?
Oh, but don’t be fooled. Shanks knows exactly what he’s doing. Manipulation? Oh, he’s practically a connoisseur of it. But he’s subtle about it—really subtle. He doesn’t need to go full villain monologue on you. No, he’s got finesse. Conversations with him are like verbal chess matches where you think you’re just having a nice chat, but really, he’s been 10 steps ahead since you said “hello.” He’ll start small, dropping hints, little questions that make you think twice about your Marine superiors. “Are you sure the Navy’s got your best interests at heart?” he’ll ask, with that easygoing tone that makes it seem like he’s just curious. But each comment is deliberate, each seed of doubt planted with care. The worst part? You don’t even notice you’re being manipulated. That’s his talent—he makes it all seem so natural.
Shanks has a way of making the pirate life sound pretty good too. Freedom on the open seas, no rules, no rigid Marine codes to follow—just you, him, and the wind in your hair. He’s not about to shove you off the Marine ship with a cutlass in hand or anything. No, he’s got more class than that. It’s all in the subtlety—he wants to make you want the life he’s offering, to make you think it’s your idea. That’s the horror beauty of his approach. And he doesn’t need to rush things either. In fact, he enjoys watching it all unfold, like a game he knows he’s already winning, even if it’s just a little at a time.
And no, he’s not sadistic or cruel about it—he’s just got that patient confidence. Every time he sees you waver, every time you start questioning just a little bit more, he gets this quiet satisfaction. It’s like watching his plan come together, piece by piece, with that percentage of “winning you over” ticking up in his mind. He’s not in a hurry. He’s got all the time in the world, and he knows that eventually, you’ll come around. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon enough, you’ll find yourself standing on the deck of his ship, wondering how you ever thought the Marine life was the right choice.
And no, Shanks isn’t the type to toss you into a burlap sack and lock you in a room somewhere—he's way more refined than that. Kidnapping? Please. That’s amateur hour. No, Shanks is the kind of guy who enjoys the chase. He plays the long game like a master strategist. Instead of brute force, he uses patience, charm, and a little bit of cunning to get what he wants. The first step? He studies you, not in a creepy binoculars-from-a-bush way okay, maybe slightly, but in that clever, calculated fashion that only Shanks can pull off.
He learns everything about you—your routines, your patrol routes, where you dock your ship, and even the little things, like your favorite taverns and preferred training spots. He takes mental notes with the kind of attention to detail you wouldn’t expect from a man who spends half his time drinking and laughing his head off. The scary part? He does all this while maintaining that relaxed and carefree demeanor, so you never suspect a thing.
Despite being a busy Yonko with his hands full you know, ruling the seas and all that, Shanks makes time for you in his own… special way. You’ll start noticing him “coincidentally” showing up wherever you are. After a skirmish with some rowdy pirates? Boom, Shanks just so happens to be there, giving you a smile like it’s the most natural thing in the world. Run into him while you’re off-duty on some random island? Oh, what a surprise! What’s even funnier is that it seems like he’s always in the same bar as you—whether you’re grabbing a quick drink after a long day or taking a breather. Of course, none of this is by chance. Shanks isn’t just lucky. He knows exactly where you’ll be. Every time you think it’s fate? Nope, it's just Shanks doing what he does best—playing the long game like a pro.
And it’s not just him, either. The rest of his crew? Yeah, they’re probably unknowingly complicit in all this. To them, it’s just another day, chilling, maybe gathering intel on Navy movements. Little do they know, they’re actually helping Shanks with his personal side project: you. He’s got them keeping tabs on where you’re stationed, which islands you’re patrolling, and when you’re vulnerable. They think they’re just doing their regular stuff, keeping the boss informed about any activity, but really, Shanks is sitting back, piecing together your every move. The only person who’s likely able to tell that something is up is Benn.
It’s almost comical how well it works. One of his crew might casually report, “Oh, yeah, we saw them dock at Loguetown.” And Shanks, acting all cool, will just nod and say something like, “Ah, interesting.” But inside? He’s already planning his next “accidental” encounter. He’s got it all under control, and by the time you figure out that these run-ins are a little too coincidental, you’re already in too deep.
Remember when I said Shanks is a connoisseur of manipulation? Yeah, he’s not just playing mind games in casual conversation. Shanks doesn’t just want to win you over in a chat or two—he’s looking at the long-term investment. One of his favorite tactics? Slowly, subtly isolating you from the people around you. It’s not like he’s going to come right out and tell you to ditch your Marine buddies—that’d be way too obvious, and Shanks is way too smooth for that.
Instead, he drops little hints here and there. He’s clever about it, too—he doesn’t bad-mouth the Marines outright. He’s more subtle. He’ll say things like, “Do you ever feel like the Navy’s ideals aren’t totally in line with your own? You seem like someone who’s got their own sense of justice.” He’s not being confrontational; he’s just gently guiding you to start questioning things…
And before you know it, you’re thinking, “Wow, he’s very perceptive—very understanding too.” It’s genius because it makes you feel like these thoughts are your own, when really, they’ve been carefully planted by a Yonko who’s playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers.
But of course, Shanks’ goal isn’t just to make you feel understood. His goal is to make you feel disconnected from the very people who are in the way of his love for you—your fellow Marines. Slowly, you start seeing them differently. They don’t really understand you, do they? They don’t get your struggles, your doubts. Not like Shanks does, anyway. And without you even realizing it, you start to distance yourself from them, emotionally if not physically. He’s effectively creating a gap between you and the Marines—his subtle way of prying you away from the Navy and toward his world.
You literally have no idea it’s happening. Shanks is so good at this that you think these doubts are just part of your own natural reflection. He knows that as long as you’re loyal to the Navy, there’ll always be other Marine’s standing between him and the life he wants with you. He’s playing the long game, making sure that when the time comes, your loyalty to the Marines will be shaky at best. And once that loyalty starts to crack, well... that’s when Shanks moves in for the win, ready to pull you into his loving arms before you can even realize what’s happening.
Shanks, being the smooth operator that he is, absolutely loves testing your boundaries. His touches always seem harmless—at least at first. It starts simple, maybe a friendly pat on the shoulder after a sparring match or his hand lightly resting on your lower back as he guides you through a busy crowd. Completely innocent, right? Nothing to see here. But then, over time, you start to notice that his touch lingers just a little too long. That pat on the shoulder feels more like a subtle claim. The hand on your lower back? Yeah, it’s gentle, but there’s a certain possessiveness to it, almost like he's marking his territory in the most casual way possible.
At first, you brush it off. I mean, it’s Shanks—he’s naturally touchy, right? But then it happens again. And again. And again. And again. And again…
Suddenly, you’re wondering, “Wait... is he flirting with me? Or is this just friendly?” It’s maddening, because Shanks is so good at playing it cool that you can’t quite put your finger on what’s going on. Every time you start thinking, "Okay, maybe this is more than just friendly banter," he’ll flash that big grin of his or crack a joke, and you’re back to square one. Is this guy flirting, or is he just being Shanks?
The thing is, whether you realize it or not, he’s playing a much bigger game. Shanks is slowly but surely pulling you away from your rigid Marine life, introducing you to the idea of being closer to him—literally and figuratively. Each casual touch, each playful smile, is like a breadcrumb leading you further into his world, where the rules are looser, and the lines between friend and something more get blurrier by the day.
But the kicker? You don’t know where it’s all leading. Is he just messing with you? Testing how far he can go before you push back? Or is there a master plan here, where in the end, he’s not just pulling you out of Marine life but pulling you into his life? One where you belong to him completely? Guess we’ll never know! Until it’s too late, of course…
Despite his usual laid-back, “I’ve-got-all-the-time-in-the-world” vibe, Shanks has a violent side, and it’s a side that only shows when something he cares about—like you—is in real danger. Sure, he’s all about fun, drinks, and the occasional brawl, but when it comes to protecting what he cares for? That’s when the switch flips. If Shanks ever felt that you were truly threatened, or if someone dared to make a move on you, all that carefree energy goes right out the window. Shanks would become a force of nature, and suddenly, there’s no smile, no jokes—just swift, brutal efficiency.
But here’s the thing—he’s not the type to fly into a blind rage. His yandere tendencies are more... surgical? Let’s say some pirate gets too bold and threatens you, or maybe there’s another Marine who’s getting a little too close for his liking. Shanks wouldn’t hesitate for a second. He’d handle the situation so quickly and so cleanly that by the time you realized something was wrong, the problem would already be, well, gone. Vanished. Poof. As if they never existed.
His crew wouldn’t suspect a thing. They’d think their captain was just being his usual self, stepping in to defend someone he cares about. They’d chalk it up to Shanks doing what Shanks does—protecting his own. But little do they know, it’s not just some offhand act of loyalty. No, Shanks has been calculating this for a while. He knows exactly what he’s doing, and he’s making sure that no one, and I mean no one, comes between you and him.
Now, unless you’re incredibly sharp—or just really, really perceptive—you might not even notice. After all, Shanks is nothing if not smooth. But if you start putting two and two together, you might realize that these sudden "disappearances" around you aren’t just bad luck or coincidence. Maybe you’d start to notice that the people who pose a threat to you or more specifically, Shanks' claim on you always seem to vanish without a trace. And, well, if you’re smart enough to figure it out, let’s just hope you don’t mind, because by then... you’re already in pretty deep with him.
If Shanks ever got the feeling that you were slipping away—maybe you start pulling back, doubling down on your Marine loyalty, or just seem less receptive to his charm—well, that's when things would quickly start to get concerning and worrying. Shanks is usually the master of patience, but if he felt like he was losing control over you, he’d start to escalate, just a bit. Now, don’t worry, he’d never hurt you directly. That’s not his style. But his tactics? Oh, they’d start to get a lot more aggressive.
First, he’d start by nudging things in his favor, slowly sabotaging your career in the Navy without you even realizing it. Maybe you’re framed for some minor misconduct—nothing too wild, just enough to put you under scrutiny. Or maybe he’ll manipulate a few situations to make it look like you’re getting just a little too cozy with pirates. Who knows, you might "accidentally" end up in the same place as him more often than the Navy would like. And let's be real, that doesn’t exactly look great on a Marine’s record, does it?
Shanks, being the clever man he is, wouldn’t let you see the full extent of his obsession unless it was absolutely necessary. To you, it might just feel like bad luck or a series of unfortunate events. After all, why would the Navy be questioning your loyalty? Why would your superiors start doubting your dedication? You’re one of the good ones, right? But behind the scenes, Shanks is pulling strings, slowly guiding things to make it harder for you to stay in the Marines. The plan is simple: if the Navy pushes you away, you’ll have no choice but to gravitate towards him. And who wouldn’t want to be a part of his carefree pirate life after all the stress the Marines put you through?
Now, if you’re smart enough—or just plain stubborn enough—to figure out what’s going on, that’s when Shanks might have to resort to Plan B. He doesn’t like the idea of cruelty, and he’d rather not sabotage your career directly. But if it’s the only option left to keep you by his side? He won’t hesitate to strike.
At the end of the day, Shanks doesn’t want to play dirty, but for you? Oh he’ll make an exception. After all, if the Navy is standing between him and the life he wants with you, then they’re just another obstacle to remove. And trust, if Shanks has his mind set on something, nothing—and no one—can stop him. Not even the Marines.
Ultimately, Shanks envisions a future where you’re free from the Navy, sailing the seas with him at your side—not as just another crew member, but as his equal. Or, more accurately, as his. In Shanks’ mind, this isn’t about controlling you overtly. He doesn’t want you to feel like a prisoner in his grasp; no, he wants you to believe that you’re choosing him because of his charm, his charisma, and everything that makes him, well, Shanks. You won’t even realize that, slowly but surely, you’re already tangled in his web.
His obsession isn’t suffocating—not outwardly, anyway. It’s the kind of love that lets you feel the breeze of freedom while subtly guiding your steps until all roads lead back to him. He’s sure that in time, you’ll see things his way. You’ll come to understand that his love is real, genuine, and that no one else could care for you the way he does. And when that day comes, you’ll finally reciprocate. You’ll see that this was all meant to be.
But if not? If you don’t come around on your own? Well, Shanks has all the time in the world. He’s patient. He knows how to wait, how to play the long game. He can be gentle. He can be kind. He can let the world unfold at its own pace. But remember, even the most patient man has his limits.
And when those limits are reached… well, you might not like what’s waiting for you at the end of that road.

random sun observations
some of these are based on requests :)
libra sun
great conversationalists! they know how to read a room or even just the person they’re talking to and do a great job catching the vibe so to speak. given that, sometimes they can mirror the people they’re around too. because of this sometimes people may think libra likes them even if they don’t 😭 a lot of times the only way you’ll know how libra feels (especially september) is if they reach a boiling point or if you know them well enough.
they’re great at dressing themselves as well, i’ve never seen a libra who didn’t know how to carry themselves. even if a libra chooses to dress down, they still happen to look put together.
if you’re dating/ pursuing one, (ofc factor in their venus) they typically love love. so (if they really like you) they’re dedicated, love a storybook relationship and will absolutely provide you with that in return. also very diplomatic in any relationship, they want things to be balanced and fair - but keep in mind this depends on their own moral compass, not yours.
capricorn sun
disclaimer! i’ll try my best not to be biased 😭 but i’ve had the worst experiences with them; i have to be honest before i begin.
capricorns are literally the goat, so often they can be blinded by their “horns”. meaning that their pride can make them short sided, especially the men. this can be good sometimes because when a cap goes for something they get it. saturn is about learning from mistakes, discipline; a lot of capricorns go through some real shit before they’re even adults. that being said they are often harder than most and therefore sometimes have a difficult time maintaining interpersonal relationships - they’re often too focused on results and surviving for too long.
often very funny, dry humor. like other earth signs, they tend to just get it. the men tend to spend quite a bit unless developed. they also tend to buy things because they’re 5 star or the most expensive, not necessarily because of the quality. however, great providers and if you are relying on one to get shit done, get somewhere on time, to lead a team - cap is the one because of their tunnel vision and practicality.
aquarius sun
another sign who just gets it. aquarians are the people who laugh at the joke no one got, who catch the little nuances, who actually do like things before they’re cool. i’ve said previously they are one of the most intelligent signs because of how much they observe and how much they remember.
people tend to dub this sign as emotionless but similar to aquarius moon, i think people just misunderstand how they handle emotions as a whole. they need to intellectualize and understand their emotions on a practical level before addressing them. also they’re ruled by uranus, so the way they see the world is always going to be different or abstract. but if you lead with patience, they’re usually open to talking out their feelings/ thoughts - aquas just want to know that you want to understand, that you’re open minded.
very practical and sometimes worry too much. usually on time to every event/ job and great planners because they think of everything. i will note however, that they tend to be very forgetful or reckless until they’re developed. they are often the children who break their glasses a lot or lose their new sweater 😭
as they rule the 11th house (networking), they are wonderful, fun and considerate friends. they make jokes about literally everything (very unserious people 💀) and often give thoughtful gifts because of how observant they are.
leo sun
truly the life of the party, they really carry the sun wherever they go. if it seems like they always have energy it’s because they do, whether it’s natural or manufactured. i’ve found that they can’t be as high functioning if they stay in a funk too long. even if these people are insecure, they will create the confidence.
they often do care about how others perceive them, especially those close to them. this includes leos who are less of the golden retriever type and more of the lioness type. lioness leos are the ones who walk and talk w/ pride, command attention and respect, usually leaders. golden retriever leos are usually bubbly, friends w/ everyone, keeps things light and jovial. sometimes they tend to let things slide or don’t say what they mean because they’d like to maintain their image or aren’t actually as confident as they seem.
much like leo venus, they are passionate and intentional lovers. very thoughtful and compassionate friends too. you want a leo in your life if you want someone who will bring you warmth and a sense of belonging.

My Top 15 Favourite Anime (& Donghua) Female Characters 2024
[Before I get started, I'd like to point out that making this list was quite challenging considering I have watched quite a few anime. So please don't be too offended if any of your favourites aren't included; just because they aren't here doesn't automatically mean I dislike them. Feel free to leave your constructive thoughts and own lists in the comment section since I appreciate amicable discourse. Also, I decided to use the "keep reading" feature to make it easier to scroll through the long posts on my blog, so the official list is under the cut.]
-> Honourable Mentions:
-> My Top 15:
“If you’re helping someone and expecting something in return, you’re doing business not kindness.” Shirayuki is incredibly empathetic and emotionally aware as evidenced by her drive to ensure that the people around her feel cared for and supported. Even if it involves sacrificing her time and energy, she is always eager to help others. At times this is her greatest strength—as it enables her to build strong connections with others. However, on occasion, this trait makes it difficult for her to establish boundaries and prioritise her own needs. This struggle is something I think we can all relate to. I greatly admire her determination, optimism, compassion and resourcefulness. Her integrity, patience and consideration for others is something I aspire to emulate in daily life. Her passion for plants is something I have in common with her.
"I won't lose to myself!" Given that she has become somewhat of a meme in the fandom, I'm sure some of you may be surprised by this, but she was one of the first female anime characters I resonated with when I was young. Although she lacks presence in the overall series, her strong-willed and independent yet easy-going and relatable personality endeared her to me. Even in stressful situations, she is renowned for her diligence, discipline, practicality, and reliability. Her character serves as a tribute to the resilience of the human spirit as well as the value of perseverance and hard work. Her fear of failure sometimes causes her to doubt herself and her capabilities which highlights the struggle we all face with balancing our concerns and our obligations. Her fighting style and character design remain one of my absolute favourites, making me annoyed that Kishimoto didn’t do more with her character. Also, nejiten is my Roman Empire.
“This is a cruel world. And yet...so beautiful....” In all honesty, I'm still miffed by the ending of Attack on Titan, which had me contemplating whether to include her on this list, but I realised that would be petty and short-sighted. Mikasa was one of the first female characters I saw who not only stood with male characters on the battlefield but also outperformed them—which made me look up to her. Mikasa's greatest attributes are her inner strength and innate sense of responsibility to defend her loved ones and fight for justice, as well as her intense loyalty and devotion, especially to Eren. Aside from her strength and fortitude, she also possesses compassion and gentleness towards those she cares for—which I admire considering many female characters in shounen anime are pressured to sacrifice these qualities to be strong and respected.
“Why didn’t I try to get to know him better?” Since Frieren is the newest character on this list, I’m sure she’ll continue to grow on me in due time. As the protagonist of a show centred around the value of life, the importance of goodbyes and the passage of time; Frieren is an incredibly complex, multi-faceted character. Her journey to understand the depth of human relationships and emotions—after losing someone she failed to realise was important to her—is an incredibly touching and insightful one. Watching her experiences serves as an important lesson: to value every moment and to take the initiative to build connections with others—which is something I often struggle with. Frieren is best recognised for her composed demeanour. She demonstrates qualities such as an affinity for independence, a keen sense of introspection and a preference for logical reasoning—all of which allow her to serve as a voice of reason for their group. Her sharp mind and unrelenting curiosity propel her to continually expand the limits of her knowledge, enabling her to innovatively tackle challenges from a unique viewpoint—making her an engaging and dynamic character to watch.
“A-xian is my little brother…When others insult him it is no small matter to me.” While often overlooked due to her immense kindness and amiable personality—her determination, selflessness and fierce protectiveness of her loved ones are admirable. Although not a major character in MDZS, her influence over its more central characters is evident. Her lack of hesitance in sacrificing her life for her martial brother, Wei Wuxian—even though he unintentionally contributed to her husband’s death—endeared me to her. Her determination to rise above her difficult upbringing and grow into a caring, mature and reliable figure is praiseworthy along with her capacity to find common ground in seemingly immutable situations. Her character design ranks among my favourites as well and complements her personality well. She taught me that despite being in a society where one is harshly rebuked or pressurised it is important to stand firm in your beliefs and desires.
“If you must cling to something in order to yield, why not pick up that which you have tossed away and hold it in your hands anew?” While initially, she doesn't appear to be very noteworthy because of her limited role in the series, the brief time she gets presents her in a positive light and her backstory is notably well-developed even among more prominent side characters. Despite her reclusiveness; her compassion, forgiveness and humility are noteworthy—especially when contrasted with the majority of other Heavenly Officials. Given that characters like Xie Lian and Hua Cheng respect her, while Jun Wu and Pei Ming are cautious of her proves that her strength and significance should not be undervalued. Her ascension story—which earned her the moniker “The Princess Who Slit Her Throat”—is a prime example of her incredible selflessness as she willingly laid down her life to protect her family and country despite being ignored and mistreated for most of her life. She remains very grounded despite her status as the God of Rain and Agriculture and is always willing to help others, even if it means defying authority. She possesses no ill will towards those she has had disagreements with and doesn't hesitate to save them.
"Even if it's a short life, burn hot and bright and overtake the moment. That's my way of life." Kagura is best known for her quick wit, tomboyish personality and fighting spirit which often manages to steal the spotlight in the Gintama series. She is an ardent and fierce fighter who doesn't hesitate to express her opinions. Beneath her brash exterior, she is compassionate and caring, frequently using her keen intuition and empathy when interacting with others. She often takes risks, facing challenges directly which can be seen as impulsive and abrasive—however, this behaviour stems from her need for control and security amidst a chaotic world. In a sense, we all struggle to assert ourselves in difficult situations and could benefit from approaching things with a little more of Kagura's zeal. Kagura also enjoys helping others and is incredibly devoted to the people she loves. She is also not afraid to voice her opinions or act when she sees someone in need. By virtue of her strength, humour, and charm, she has not only gained popularity among fans but also established herself as an iconic figure in the shounen genre.
"If you don't hold a rose carefully, you'll get pierced by its thorns." Tsukuyo is best known for her unique fighting style, sharp wit, caustic humour, and compelling backstory which has allowed her to become a fan favourite and a key part of many serious arcs in the series. In many respects, her design and backstory serve as a parallel to that of the protagonist—Gintoki—which adds to her depth. Furthermore, her name and personality are based on Tsukuyomi no Mikoto—the moon god in Shinto and Japanese mythology—accentuating the cool aesthetic of her design. Contrasting her rough exterior, Tsukuyo is shown to have a tender side, exhibiting an innate sense of empathy and sensitivity. Although her reserved attitude often conveys an impression of aloofness and distance, this is just how she processes things and expresses concern, which is something I can identify with. Her most admirable quality is her strong sense of duty and loyalty towards her loved ones, as well as her inclination to prioritise the needs of others over her own. Although she struggles with insecurity and anxiety—leading her to hesitate and over-analyse—she is resolute in overcoming these issues when crucial matters are at stake, which is a valuable message.
“I once believed that the road of happiness continued forever and ever into the distance. When it was destroyed, I realized for the first time that it lies upon a thin sheet of glass. And just as we were saved, there were those whose happiness that haven't yet been destroyed. So, I wanted to get stronger and protect them.” Shinobu is a multifaceted and captivating character who stands out—even amongst Demon Slayer's eclectic cast—largely due to her distinct fighting style, striking design, tragic backstory as well as her nuanced personality and motivations. Shinobu's strongest assets are her insight, and compassion, which enable her to support those in need. She usually has a relaxed smile on her face and generally exhibits a bright, amiable, and joyful demeanour. However, it soon becomes apparent that this outward disposition is a façade masking her profound anger and relentless desire for vengeance. This dichotomy in her persona is foreshadowed by her conflicting roles in the series as a healer and a poisoner. Her desire to cater to those close to her is the primary motivation for her outward façade, which is primarily modelled after the mannerisms of her deceased older sister. Considering we all conceal certain parts of ourselves to appeal to others, this aspect of her character is very impactful and relatable. She also often struggles with feelings of inadequacy stemming from her physical limitations. However, she overcomes this obstacle by employing poison to kill demons, showcasing her resourcefulness, fortitude and tenacity. Although we all feel envious of the talents of others, Shinobu's character is a reminder that we all have our strengths and should face obstacles head-on never giving up on our objectives.
“Although our thoughts are changeable and difficult to understand, the actions we take don’t change, no matter how much time passes.” As a consequence of her seclusion in the Yamei Palace and her mystical abilities, Jusetsu is quite enigmatic and detached. While she is often perceived as haughty and aloof due to her bluntness, impatience and lack of social experience; she is shown to have a tender and vulnerable side. She possesses an inherent sense of justice and doesn't disregard those in need, even if they have offended her in the past, which is incredibly admirable. Although her position as the Raven Consort demands her to live alone, she quickly finds herself surrounded by people, leading her to feel guilty considering her deceased predecessor remained isolated. Her heart begins to soften as she lets others in, but she often struggles to comprehend others, causing her to inadvertently offend them—which is something that most of us can relate to. However, she is quick to mend things once she realises her misstep and comes to learn that it's necessary to confide in those who care about you. She frequently exhibits guilt about seeing her mother die, which leads her to feel that it's preferable to be by herself than to lose anyone else. Her struggles with guilt and constant introspection not only add to her complexity as a character but also make her very relatable. To a degree, we all worry that opening our hearts to others will result in us being irrevocably hurt but constantly have to take that risk to live a fulfilling life—thus making Jusetsu’s journey an incredibly empowering and compelling one.
“I'll definitely overtake you, and it'll be my turn to worry about you.” Misaki is best described as bright, diligent, pragmatic, and disciplined. As the student council president, she is committed to improving her school's reputation, even if it involves challenging the expectations of her male teachers and peers. Before Misaki's father abandoned their family, she was noticeably more tender-hearted and compassionate, but she subsequently developed a bias against males based on her conviction that they were inconsiderate and unreliable. She possesses a rigid sense of justice and sets high standards for herself and everyone around her. Consequently, she often struggles with her emotions, particularly when it comes to maintaining her composure when her private life is disrupted. Misaki is particularly embarrassed about her part-time position at a Maid Cafe, believing it contradicts her strong, uncompromising image, and consequently takes great effort to establish a rigid boundary between her public image and her private life by keeping this job hidden from others. Misaki's best quality is that she never veers off course and gives her all in everything she does, inspiring others in the process. Misaki exemplifies the value of resilience and diligence when it comes to achieving one's goals because, despite facing countless hurdles, she remains committed to her ideals. Conversely, she is overly self-sacrificing and frequently overworks herself due to her inability to trust others. Through the course of the series, she learns to accept her femininity and fragility while remaining assertive and self-sufficient. As she navigates her growing romantic feelings for Usui, she learns the value of having faith in others, as well as the significance of respect, communication, and acceptance in relationships. This process of self-discovery moulds Misaki into a multifaceted character who is exemplary and relatable.
“If history repeats itself, and moves in a circular path, then believing that whatever force is turning it is perfect, is all we can do as we move ahead. Pushed along by forces beyond our control, waiting, for the blade to be swung." Rukia’s best attributes are her altruism, modesty, strong moral compass and sense of duty. Her journey throughout the series centres around self-acceptance and belonging. Initially, she feels worthless and out of place yet longs to be recognised and accepted. Given that she finds it difficult to reach out to others, she never expresses these desires and lives a lonely life under continual strain. After meeting Ichigo and his friends, in the World of the Living, she begins to open up but quickly backtracks after she is taken back to the Soul Society to be executed. Despite enduring tremendous hardship, she never forsakes her ideals or blames anybody else—but instead faces and overcomes everything alone. This demonstrates her immense fortitude, resolve and integrity. Her strength lies in the fact that her heart never fluctuates. Upon the moment of her execution, she does not display fear or regret but is instead grateful for having lived an ample life. However, this is the turning point, as she is saved by Ichigo and is thereafter rewarded for her resolve and steadfast convictions. She finally alleviates herself of the guilt and grief she had been carrying by allowing herself to rely on others for emotional support. She can now confidently confront and overcome her greatest challenges because she is certain of who she is. In this way, Rukia's character serves as an example that no matter what you are faced with, your efforts will be recognised so long as you remain resolute and virtuous—which is incredibly commendable and compelling.
Her enduring and incomparable bond with the series’ protagonist, Ichigo is one of my favourite aspects of her character and the series as a whole. Throughout the story, she is a continual source of both physical and emotional strength for him. In several respects, Rukia's character is a parallel to his as she understands Ichigo's feelings better than anyone else considering she has gone through similar experiences. The quote "The rain drags the Black Sun down, but the rain is dried by the White Moon" perfectly encapsulates their dynamic—with Ichigo representing the former and Rukia representing the latter. Throughout the series, the rain is a potent metaphor for Ichigo's despair, while Rukia is constantly seen guiding and consoling him—effectively drying up “the rain”. She acts as a "ray of light" for Ichigo—despite her problems—who in turn does the same for her. Rukia's symbolism as the "White Moon" also pertains to her technique—specifically her bankai, which transforms her into a veritable ice princess. This symbolism furthers her development, influence and prominence in the series.
"Before I question the gods, there are questions I should ask myself!" Yona's remarkable development from a pampered princess to a courageous warrior is precisely why she is one of the most recognised and respected shoujo heroines of all time. This development begins after her privileged and idyllic life in Hiryuu castle is upended when her beloved cousin, Soo-won, murders her father and seizes the throne. After witnessing this traumatising event, she is forced to flee the castle and is forced to adjust to a harsh and perilous life on the run. She is momentarily overcome with fear and denial thus depending entirely on her bodyguard and childhood friend Hak for protection and care. However, after recognising that the people who were sheltering her would suffer as a result of her incapacity, she began to pull herself together. Empowered by her newfound resolve, she and Hak journey across the kingdom in search of the legendary Dragon Warriors and through these fateful encounters, they cultivate a revitalized sense of purpose and camaraderie. It is on this journey that she begins to realise that her father’s pacifistic reign came at the cost of weakening their kingdom, leading to widespread strife and corruption. Her overwhelming guilt regarding her ignorance causes her to develop a genuine sense of responsibility towards her nation's people. With the support of her allies, she travels around the kingdom to improve the lives of the common people, having abandoned the prospect of revenge. Yona's fundamental strength is shown to derive from her emotional fortitude, compassion and capacity for forgiveness. Additionally, her adaptability, willingness to learn, and strong sense of conviction are all admirable. Although she continues to grow stronger throughout the series, she has always been incredibly kind and compassionate. She is inspiring because she demonstrates that true strength comes from within. It is her immense compassion that not only motivates her to protect her nation and change the lives of those around her but also draws people like Hak and the four dragon warriors to her. Her ability to forego her desire for vengeance in favour of forgiveness is not a show of weakness but is one of strength, selflessness and maturity. She realises that her desire for revenge is outweighed by the kingdom’s need for a radical and strong ruler like Soo-won —leading her to choose to work from the shadows to uplift the common people.
“It’s not always easy to see the good in people. In some people, you might even doubt that it’s there at all. But if you can somehow, find a way to believe…sometimes that’s all it takes to help someone, to give them the strength to find the good in themselves...” “No matter how cold it is now, spring will come again...” Tohru is best described as optimistic, hard-working, patient and open-minded. She is also modest, caring, and gentle-spirited. She constantly strives to seek out the good in everyone she encounters and is always willing to assist those in need—bearing no resentment against those who have harmed her. Her benevolent and amiable disposition effortlessly attracts people to her, making them feel accepted and valued, as demonstrated through her interactions with the zodiac members of the Sohma family. In comparison to the series' vast ensemble of colourful, quirky characters, Tohru is frequently perceived as being too perfectly kind and hence bland—nonetheless, this is completely misguided. In actuality, Tohru is equally as emotionally broken and thus the Sohma family heals her heart in the same way that she heals theirs. Her character is an exemplary subversion of the typical "kind-hearted" heroine given that she faces several genuine hardships that result from her gentle and charitable nature. She is not a perfect saint, but rather a girl who prioritises the struggles of others over her own as she attempts to find her place in the world. Her greatest strengths are her immense compassion, innate empathy and sincerity. Given that she expects nothing in exchange for helping others, her generosity does not originate from a position of entitlement, which is incredibly admirable. Tohru has a strong desire to be needed by others and thus often puts the needs of others before her own. She craves validation and assurance, hoping to be acknowledged as essential and irreplaceable to those around her. In response to the terrible treatment she received from her paternal relatives, Tohru has developed the notion that she might burden those around her, so she rarely expresses her desires. Consequently, she is inclined to internalise any unpleasant emotions and feelings rather than express them externally. However, as time passes, Tohru gradually learns to be more assertive and to accept help from others. Tohru's relationship with Kyo is another facet of her personality that I find endearing. Despite having similar backstories, they have developed divergent perspectives on life. Kyo finds it hard to recognise the positive in other people, while Tohru finds it hard to perceive anything negative in them. They strike a perfect equilibrium as he teaches her that being too unselfish and not sufficiently assertive is detrimental to her well-being, while she helps him realise that there is hope in trusting others. While Kyo is not the only one who sees through Tohru's façade, he is one of the only individuals who can help her face her issues as she becomes especially transparent around Kyo, confessing all her concerns and anxieties to him. Tohru demonstrates the power of forgiveness, love and friendship and exemplifies what it means to be a good person. Her journey towards overcoming her fears and attaining true happiness through strength and determination is heartwarming and inspiring. She embodies hope and compassion in a cruel and unfair world. Her growth demonstrates that being kind is not synonymous with being powerless or meek. She demonstrates that no one is completely perfect—that kindness is a choice rather than an innate gift, therefore we are all capable of making the effort to be kind and compassionate to others.
“If I should die, I'd want to die of poison.” Maomao's story is kickstarted when she is kidnapped and sent to the Imperial Palace as a maidservant. Maomao’s extensive knowledge of poisons and medicine, along with her aptitude for unravelling mysteries ensnare her into the intricate web of political intrigue despite her attempts to remain inconspicuous. She is mature, sharp-witted, composed, and pragmatic, in large part because she grasps her expendability in the Rear Palace. Being raised in the Red-Light District has shaped her into a resilient and adaptive person with a thorough awareness of society's complexities, which she uses to traverse the Rear Palace. Consequently, she has developed a highly practical and pessimistic mindset on life, centred around avoiding trouble and adjusting to her surroundings—which has enabled her to tolerate circumstances that many would deem traumatic or distressing. Ironically, her insatiable curiosity, along with her strong sense of justice and empathy, frequently counterbalances her self-reservation; leading her to become involved in problems that affect others. Maomao is intrigued by poisons and medicinal plants, and she often investigates their effects on her own body. This passion is her primary motivation for her actions considering the mere prospect of savouring poison or studying a rare medicinal component kindles a fervent fire within her, resulting in a riveting shift in demeanour—which is naturally perceived as astonishing and insane by many characters, particularly the series' deuteragonist, Jinshi. Maomao’s name is derived from the onomatopoeia of a cat’s meow “貓” and fittingly she is often depicted with cat ears, which act as a visual metaphor for her ardent curiosity. This feline motif, combined with her proclivity for pushing herself into risky situations and her dangerous fascination with poisons, makes her the epitome of the phrase "curiosity killed the cat". Despite her exceptional competence and charisma, Maomao is not flawless; in fact, her flaws add to her appeal. Although Maomao's distrustful and inquisitive nature makes her an excellent detective, this same quality—coupled with her distorted yet starkly reliable perception of human connections—occasionally renders her socially inept. Maomao tends to shy away from forging strong, intimate bonds or attachments with other people, causing her to be wilfully oblivious of the obvious concern or affection others have for her, regardless of whether it is in a platonic, romantic, or professional capacity. Furthermore, she is sceptical about the notion of romance, feeling that it is more likely to cause ruination than to provide happiness. This scepticism and detachment are probably traumatic responses to being brought up in the red-light district, where someone's genuine affection alone does not guarantee that they will not discard you if needed.
Another aspect of Maomao’s character that I find intriguing is her dynamic with Jinshi which develops gradually and is multi-faceted due to their opposing traits, social statuses, and backgrounds. Despite her pretence of indifference, Maomao's actions—specifically her attentiveness and concern—gradually disclose her growing interest in him. Maomao's development demonstrates her progressively becoming less closed off emotionally as she processes the intricacies of her feelings. Similarly, Jinshi had no intention of growing attached to her—as he merely wanted to capitalise on her skill set and intellect. Nevertheless, he fell for her fairly quickly, with his feelings progressing from possessive attachment to ardent, selfless love. Their partnership is defined by mutual respect, trust, and their resolve to overcome obstacles of the aristocracy together. The series’ willingness to address feminist themes within a historically misogynistic setting adds another layer of complexity to Maomao’s character; since her intellect, competence, independence and boldness defy the gender expectations of the era. Even amidst the competitiveness of the Red-light district and the complex balance of power within the imperial harem— which were settings devised to pit women against one another—Maomao continues to advocate for camaraderie between women. As we continue to witness women supporting and empowering each other; their enduring strength and tenacity is exemplified. Maomao's journey is thus an embodiment of progressiveness reflecting a refreshing standpoint on female empowerment. Maomao's exceptional charm and vibrancy are profoundly compelling, instilling an enduring sense of inspiration and empowerment.
[Congratulations and thank you if you made it all the way to the end. I fear I rambled too much…. oh well… If anyone has any suggestions on what to do next, then let me know. Otherwise, I'm just going to be working on a few asks…]

So,
I've been reflecting on some things. Polyamory and relationship anarchy, to practice them full depth, I believe, requires the cultivation of a lot of personal skills:
Patience, grace, emotional courage, honesty, openness, mindfulness, discipline, compassion and loving-kindness, to simply name a few.
As such, the prioritization of freedom in our language and value systems have become something I find short-sighted at best, self-decietful at worst.
While I value freedom in the sense of being able, and needing at times, to leave relationships, re/negotiate boundaries & agreements, and simply allow ourselves to change in whatever ways we individually need to without being beholden to things we can no longer fulfill.
Simultaneously, what self-respect can we have if we make agreements and then break them as our desires change? What accountability in relationships, romantic or otherwise, are we neglecting or disregarding if we let ourselves reach for more than we can hold with care and attention?
Love and loving aren't solo acts, they are collaborative projects, flawed, yet mutualistic bonds, challenging, though rewarding endeavors.
Unless your heart is shallow and your love empty, prioritizing individualistic pleasure seeking over understanding the weight and value of a multitude of deep, intimate bonds just makes you a timebomb for your network.
Intimacy, esp in our turbulent times, requires forgiveness and grace, patience and hopefulness, resilience and redemption, things that we as larger culture in the West have decided to throw away in order to hold onto mantras and ideologies of 'more ethical/radical than thou' and refuses to develop the self beyond it's obviously shortcomings by saying we're 'built different'.
At some point in time, our lives will all is to accept the imperfect, the less than fantasy, the 'needs some work', not out of pity or charity, but from an awareness that our love needs to learn how to evolve.
It is too easy to be black-pilled, esp with the world becoming more horrifying everyday, but letting ourselves become so separate and extreme in the wrong ways, will skill over into the places we seek to keep separate from the world that we hate.
As such, at some point, we, as lovers, ought to offer our hearts, souls, time to those we love, lest we cease to grow in the value of our own paths. We, at some point, ought to understand the richness that lay within us, as those who devoutly seek to be lovers, enjoyers, pleasers and caregivers.
If we have planted love like seeds, there should be much to receive in return, even doubly so the more challenging the intimate terrain of another's heart and world. If we seek pleasure as though it is life itself, we fail to value what the depth of our efforts can create in love.
Can you be dependable and considerate? Open while being emotionally courageous? Kind, while delivering challenging honesty? Forgiving when we ourselves or others make mistakes, do harm, or fail to navigate our collective brokenness?
Seeking love for the self says nothing about the love offer from the self into others. This is not some simple ethical issue where we assign blame and/or create conflict & distance. This is an issue of shaking oneself toward being a true lover of those who open their hearts, schedules, lives, and bodies for us to enjoy.
If we cannot give gratitude for that by offering ourselves to gold we've found and have been offered, what was the value of the freedom? To just consume another, for long or short, and just move on? There's no love in that.

New Moon at 11º Virgo
September 2nd, 2024
The New Moon in Virgo at 11º represents a moment of recalibration and practical intention setting. Virgo is the sign of service, health, and refinement—an energy that calls for precise planning, attention to detail, and organizing aspects of our lives to function more smoothly. The New Moon’s opposition to Saturn retrograde in Pisces, however, creates a dynamic tension between structure and fluidity, order and chaos, practicality and dreaminess.
Saturn in Pisces represents the dissolution of boundaries, spiritual responsibility, and the struggle between material and ethereal realities. This opposition can bring up themes of overwhelm, where the desire for clear direction (Virgo) clashes with an inability to pin things down (Pisces). The evolutionary task here is to learn how to integrate structure without rigidity and flow without losing sight of purpose.
Psychologically, this transit may trigger anxieties around control, feelings of inadequacy, or fears of failure. It’s essential to recognize where perfectionism or escapism might be hindering progress and to instead focus on creating flexible routines that honor both tangible goals and the need for rest and introspection.
Predictions and Advice for Each Zodiac Sign:
Aries (6H): The New Moon in Virgo lights up your house of daily routines, health, and work habits. This is a perfect time to streamline your day-to-day life and adopt healthier practices. The opposition to Saturn may reveal areas where you’ve been pushing too hard or neglecting self-care. Find balance by integrating discipline with compassion for yourself.
Taurus (5H): This New Moon brings creative inspiration and an urge to find joy in practical hobbies. However, Saturn in your social sector may have you feeling distant from friends or community obligations. Consider where you can make realistic commitments while still leaving space for personal enjoyment.
Gemini (4H): The focus is on your home, family, and emotional foundations. You may feel tension between your need for stability and a sense of drifting or uncertainty about the future. Use this time to create routines that nurture both your inner world and external responsibilities, allowing room for emotional flow.
Cancer (3H): Your communication skills are highlighted, with opportunities to refine how you express yourself. Saturn’s influence might challenge you to take a more mature approach to conversations and to address misunderstandings with patience. This is a good time to establish clearer boundaries in your relationships.
Leo (2H): Financial matters take center stage, urging you to review budgets and spending habits. The opposition to Saturn can trigger fears about scarcity or control over resources. Trust in your ability to balance practicality with intuition, making long-term plans without succumbing to pessimism.
Virgo (1H): With the New Moon in your sign, this is a powerful time for personal reinvention and setting intentions that align with your values. The opposition to Saturn may feel like external pressures or self-imposed doubts. Focus on self-compassion and setting realistic goals, rather than trying to fix everything at once.
Libra (12H): This New Moon activates your subconscious mind, making it a time for introspection and releasing old patterns. Saturn’s retrograde in your sector of health and routines suggests that hidden anxieties or self-sabotaging behaviors could surface. Gentle self-discipline and mindful habits will support you through this process.
Scorpio (11H: Your social circles and long-term goals are under the microscope. You may feel torn between maintaining commitments to others and pursuing your own dreams. Evaluate whether certain obligations are draining your energy and realign with groups or goals that uplift you.
Sagittarius (10H): Career matters take precedence, with the New Moon offering an opportunity to re-establish professional goals. However, Saturn’s influence may challenge your confidence or require patience as you work towards these aspirations. Trust that even small steps can lead to significant progress over time.
Capricorn (9H): This New Moon encourages expanding your horizons through learning, travel, or spiritual growth. The tension with Saturn may reflect a struggle between embracing new perspectives and holding on to old beliefs. Embrace flexibility and explore ways to blend structure with curiosity.
Aquarius (8H): Financial and emotional investments are highlighted, with a need to redefine shared resources or address power dynamics. Saturn retrograde may bring past issues around trust or intimacy to the surface. Take this time to establish clearer boundaries and prioritize mutual respect in your relationships.
Pisces (7H): Partnerships and relationships are under review as this New Moon pushes for clearer communication and realistic expectations. Saturn in your sign can amplify self-doubt or make it difficult to assert your needs. Lean into healthy boundaries and ensure that your connections are built on mutual understanding and respect.

about maria + the impact of being an oops! baby, having older parents, & much older siblings:
when maria's mother got pregnant with her there were already four children in the house, the oldest was fourteen and the youngest seven. her parents were approaching forty and done having children.
not alone, surrounded by people, but lonely and disconnected is basically how she felt within her family growing up.
from an early age she was pushed to cooperate and to pick up on things fast or get out of the way because her parents simply didn’t have the time and energy to slowly and gently raise another kid. there wasn't a whole lot of enthusiasm for her "firsts", there aren't a ton of pictures of her as a baby and child, she always got hand-me-downs from her siblings, etc.
maria was always a highly energetic and curious child, and she also struggled with sleeping, which didn't make things easier because her parents (and siblings) often found themselves overwhelmed by her.
her family is close-knitish, but she always felt disconnected from her siblings due to their age differences. growing up they always seemed to be on different stages of their lives with different levels of patience and compassion.
she often felt compelled to take on adult-like responsibilities or emotional roles within the family structure to alleviate / make up for perceived burdens. add to this the fact that she became an aunt for the first time at like 11 and her siblings never hired a babysitter in their lives because they had her around.
teenagerhood was: babysitting her nieces/nephews after school at 3pm, sneaking out the window to go hang out with friends or some guy she thought was cute at 11pm. duality.
she was both responsible and irresponsible at the same time. responsible with others, irresponsible with matters related to herself. she tried to make herself as ~chill and as little of an inconvenience as possible…. but she couldn’t help herself sometimes. felt guilty after. told herself not to feel guilty because life is short and needs to be enjoyed. stopped feeling guilty. remembered that she shouldn’t add more stress in any way shape or form to her parents. started feeling guilty again.
her parents are mildly religious and she was raised in a fairly religious small town and she struggled a whole lot with repetitive rituals, extended ceremonies, or the need for stillness difficult, and her family often saw her behavior as disrespectful or improper - a lack of discipline.
she grew up with the importance of fulfilling one’s duties and avoiding actions that bring shame to the family or community being drilled into her brain. maria’s parents, already feeling overwhelmed by their responsibilities, often saw her unconventional behavior and personality as source of something that needed to be toned down and learned to conform.
maria wasn’t unloved per se. honest. if she had been unloved maybe things would be more clean-cut, but she was and is loved by her family. it's just a… nuanced situation. it's hard when you aren't unloved but are neglected / can feel like your presence is too much, makes things muddy. both her parents presently feel guilty about their lack of patience / initiative towards her when she was younger, and that’s why now that she's an adult they are extremely lenient with her even though they often don’t understand her. this ends up, at times, creating tension with her siblings.

Minority mental health will be the biggest thing for me. It’s the reason why I got into psychology, pursued my degree in counselling — because I was looking for the answers to my own healing.
It’s important because I had parents who didn’t understand that I was neurodivergent. Growing up in a household where talking back was seen as disrespect, my outbursts and overwhelming emotions were always regarded as acting out. Instead of having parents who could regulate their own emotions, I had a father yelling in a 7 year olds face, like she was the same age as him.
When there was yelling in the house, or whenever I was being ‘disciplined’ I would get so overwhelmed, that I would bash my head against the wall, begging for the yelling and noise to stop. But it never did, instead of seeing their child as someone needing support and help, care and nurturing.. they believed the child needed more discipline.
Bashing my head into walls became my defence mechanism whenever I got too overstimulated and needed the arguing to stop. I thought it was a normal response for a very long time, until I repeated that pattern in a relationship with a boy, who lacked patience and compassion just like my father.
I spent 6 years begging and fighting for love, for peace, for respect. When we broke up and I was finally alone with myself after over 12 years of trials and tribulations. I realized I had no coping mechanisms, my nervous system was fried, and my executive function was nonexistent.
That’s when I realized as a mental health practitioner, I can’t avoid my own. I was diagnosed with ADHD in 2020 at 29 years old. My meds changed my life (somewhat), at least I knew there was a reason.. that I wasn’t inherently flawed.
These past 2 years have felt like I’ve done nothing but lay in bed. And I’m still learning how to get up and show up for myself. Realizing I went through so much. Holy fuck. I need to show myself some love.
It breaks me that there were so many huge dreams that I know I was meant to create, but the lack of stable environment and supportive people in my life, left me feeling so depleted and drained.
I’ve been trying to do it all alone forever now, and I know so many others are in the same place. I am your people, this is a safe space. We will accomplish what our hearts desire. I promise you. We are healing, and even if it doesn’t matter at this moment.. you will remember that there was a purpose for all of this suffering too.
Fuck being resilient.. I’m here for the people that are still facing the shame of letting life ruin them.
#I don’t know what’s happening#but I cant keep shit inside me anymore#mental health#heal heal heal so you can be free to live

Helloooo!! Could I get a tarot reading about my time in the underground as Integrity Soul, and another for my relationship with the other souls? We all lived in an orphanage together close to Mount Ebott 0v0
[ @apple-blossom-kin ]
Sure thing! I’ll use my Kawaii Tarot deck for both readings and as for the spreads, I’ll use this spread for your time in the Underground, and this spread for your relationships! I’ll group all the souls for this reading, but if you want to check a specific one, just let me know!
———————————–
Human Kingdom: Where you have begun, what you were raised on, and the origins of this creation.
I got the reversed Ten of Cups, which symbolizes a broken home, sadness, and poor health. The orphanage you lived in wasn’t a safe environment, both mentally and physically. There were confrontations, insufficient time to bond, and a severe lack of compassion. This strife may have caused you to decide to fall into Mount Ebott, possibly in an attempt to harm yourself.
———————————–
Troll Kingdom: What will challenge you, and how you will learn and grow from it.
I got the upright Queen of Pentacles, which symbolizes home life, nature, and integrity. This card points to a maternal/motherly figure, particularly involved in domestic chores. This is a clear sign of connecting with Toriel and her taking care of you like she did with all the other souls. She was kind and unselfish, giving you life advice when needed. However, this proved a challenge, as you wanted to leave the Ruins like all the others, and you needed to prove your embodiment of Integrity. You needed to learn from this experience, but what lesson you learned is yet to be seen.
———————————–
Carapace Kingdom: How will you get there? Who will aide you? What path will you take?
I got the upright Emperor card, which symbolizes structure, authority, and discipline. A strong father figure guided you on your way, teaching you bravery and strength. You needed to forge your path, making each right decision with their assistance. Considering this is The Emperor card and its meanings, I feel Asgore played a more prominent role in your timeline, differing from how we see him during Frisk’s canon adventure. The Emperor is represented in this deck with a ram, solidifying this connection even more.
———————————–
Consort Kingdom: What are the rewards waiting for you at the end of this journey? What do you have to look forward to?
I got the upright Knight of Pentacles, which symbolizes patience, responsibility, and efficiency. At the end of your adventure, you had grown and matured. You became dependable and responsible, dedicated to helping those who needed it. Your honesty and morality, as represented by your Integrity, were finessed, becoming the person you were destined to be.
———————————–
Find: How can I better meet my people where they’re coming from? How can I better communicate with my family?
I got the upright Nine of Swords, which symbolizes anguish, worrying, and rumination. You and the other souls had something in common: highly negative emotions and pasts. This, how horrible it may have been, connected you all. You bonded over your trauma, and it helped you communicate with each other and relate.
———————————–
Bond: How can I better connect to my people and strengthen the bonds between us?
I got the reversed Judgment card, which symbolizes negativity, being stuck, and self-criticism. It’s possible that you and/or the other souls were too hung up on your pasts, even though you had physically moved on from them. There was an imbalance, both in your personal lives and relationships, so overcoming it was necessary.
———————————–
Give: What can I give to my people? What do I bring to the table?
I got the reversed Seven of Swords, which symbolizes mental challenge, running away, and returning. If you managed to return from the Underground via the Barrier breaking or some other means (which was most likely, looking at this card and the last one of the previous reading), you were able to use your fully realized Integrity to help the other souls overcome their struggles. You took the negative energy and thoughts and helped balance them, bringing optimism to the forefront.
———————————–
Receive: What do I receive from my people? Where do I need to lean on my friends and community for support?
I got the upright Ace of Swords, which symbolizes breakthrough, clarity, and determination. There was an untapped potential within you; while small, it helped fuel your future choices. The fact that Determination is a meaning of this card makes me wonder if you knew Frisk at all and if they helped push you towards your next steps. Whether they were there or not, the other souls helped awaken you, and your viewpoint grew as you carved your path and faced your challenges.
———————————–
Enjoy: Something to celebrate with my people. An activity or experience to share together.
I got the upright Death card, which symbolizes end, loss, and transition. In this case, death does not mean literal death but instead an end to the past and onto newer ventures. Your past hardships were over, and it was time to celebrate your new beginnings! Although you may have feared the unknown, it was time to move on from your past and step into a brighter future.
———————————–
I hope these help you, and let me know if they do!
#undertale#undertale kin#tarot#abuse tw#suicide tw#self harm tw#integrity soul kin#mod mtt#all those tws are implied#but not explicitly mentioned#also as i was pulling the cards i was like what the fuck#how is this lining up so well#two cards in and i was astounded

The Secret Behind Using VWAP for Bitcoin-Euro: Tips, Tricks, and What Nobody Tells You Okay, let's talk about Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) with the Bitcoin-Euro pair, a secret weapon traders have been whispering about, like some sort of magical spell that could change your trading life forever. Why, you ask? Well, unlike the usual hocus-pocus trading indicators that leave you feeling like you've just bought a pair of shoes on sale that you'll never wear, VWAP tells you what's really happening—with no gimmicks attached. It’s like a compass pointing towards value in a volatile crypto forest. But before we go all-in with this mystical VWAP-Bitcoin-Euro mashup, let's walk through it, step by step. The last thing I want is for anyone to think, "Hey, I pressed the wrong button and, whoops, there goes my savings." Been there, done that—but that’s a story for another day. Now, grab your favorite coffee, and let's dive in. Why VWAP? And Why Bitcoin-Euro? Think of VWAP as your trading GPS—it doesn’t predict the future, but it tells you where you stand relative to the “average” price over a set period. When it comes to Bitcoin-Euro, which can be a roller-coaster ride if you haven’t already noticed, VWAP is like the wise, old trader that gives you the calm, cool perspective you need amidst all the noise. Imagine if someone told you, "Hey, everyone is selling their Bitcoin to get Euros, but maybe you shouldn't join them just yet." VWAP kind of does that—it whispers, "Calm down, stick to the average." And here’s why VWAP shines in this pair: the Euro isn't as volatile as BTC, and it helps balance out the craziness. The Euro is like that friend who always keeps a checklist, making sure you don’t do anything too ridiculous. Pair it with Bitcoin, and you’ve got a match that needs a little discipline—enter VWAP. The "Oops, I Did It Again" VWAP Mistake Traders Make Let's bust a myth right here. Most traders think VWAP is something you just slap on your chart and go, "Perfect, that’s it. Buy below, sell above." But it’s not that simple, and thinking that is like buying a gadget with a “press one button for success” manual. Nope. VWAP is dynamic, especially when you apply it to something like Bitcoin-Euro, where market moves aren’t driven by logic alone but by emotion and often, Elon Musk's tweets. You can be below VWAP all you want, but if the general market sentiment is risk-averse, nobody’s going to come and save your trade. It’s all about context. VWAP should be your confirmation tool, not your primary trigger. You know what happens when you make it your main indicator? It’s like relying solely on a mood ring to decide if today’s the day to buy a house—not the best idea. Think of VWAP as your "rubber stamp" to validate other conditions before going in. How VWAP Can Change Your Approach to Bitcoin-Euro Trading One of the coolest things about VWAP is how it interacts with timeframes. Want to trade Bitcoin-Euro on a shorter-term basis? Use an intraday VWAP—it gives you a snapshot of who's boss that day. Are the bulls in control, or are the bears pushing Bitcoin down so hard, you can practically feel the Euro giving them a high-five? For swing traders, a multi-day VWAP can highlight those juicy reversion opportunities. Picture this: Bitcoin is trading way above VWAP and retail traders are hyped up, convinced we’re off to the moon again. You can almost feel the FOMO building up. But you know better—you watch for a reversion towards VWAP as a chance to catch a trend at a more reasonable price. It’s all about patience, like the one you need to wait for that exact right moment to tell a joke without bombing it. Timing is everything. The Hidden Patterns Nobody's Talking About Okay, here's where it gets juicy—those lesser-known tricks of VWAP that really set you apart from the average trader. First up, pairing VWAP with volume nodes (fancy, huh?). Volume nodes are areas where a lot of action—buying or selling—has taken place. When VWAP coincides with these nodes, it’s like finding a hidden goldmine of potential reversals or continuations. It’s akin to spotting the coffee stain on an old treasure map; it’s subtle but tells a lot about where X marks the spot. Here’s another advanced tactic: VWAP Bands. Think Bollinger Bands, but with VWAP at the core. Most traders know about VWAP, but VWAP Bands? Not so much. Use the bands to spot overbought or oversold conditions relative to VWAP. The idea here is to find a solid entry point that others are not even considering—because let’s face it, 80% of traders are looking at moving averages, and you want to be different. You want to be that one person at the office party who doesn’t take the obvious drink, but the one that’s actually good. VWAP & The Bitcoin-Euro Sentiment Game Now, sentiment. If you’re trading BTC/EUR, you know just how emotional things get. One day, Bitcoin is the future, the next it’s public enemy number one. VWAP helps navigate through these emotions by being the objective marker—kind of like your emotionally detached buddy who tells you how it is without sugar-coating. "Hey, Bitcoin's above VWAP, but are we really in a rally, or are we just recovering from last week's crash?" Combining VWAP with sentiment indicators like the Fear & Greed Index can give you a powerful edge. If the market is euphoric, and BTC/EUR is way above VWAP, you might want to take some profits. But if there’s fear everywhere, and price is below VWAP, that’s often a solid buy signal—the real magic, as we say. Ninja Tactics for VWAP Traders Alright, let’s talk elite tactics—the kind you won’t see in Trading 101. The trick with VWAP is to treat it as a zone, not a single line. Price doesn’t always respect VWAP down to the last decimal; it’s an area of value where institutional players may be active. Imagine a basketball game—sometimes you shoot from inside the 3-point line, sometimes right on it. The idea is that VWAP is not just a line—it’s more like the 3-point zone for those institutions moving serious money around. A favorite technique? The VWAP pinch. It’s when price action squeezes towards VWAP, and suddenly, there’s either a breakout or breakdown. The market’s at a crossroads, and when it chooses its direction, you want to be on the right side. Picture a rubber band getting stretched to its limit—either it snaps, or it returns to normalcy. That’s the VWAP pinch for you. Wrapping It Up: Trade Like A Pro, With Humor Involved So there you have it, a deeper dive into using VWAP with the Bitcoin-Euro pair. Don’t just add VWAP and call it a day—use it as a filter for sentiment, pair it with volume nodes, play around with VWAP Bands, and treat it as a dynamic zone rather than a static line. Trade with context, and please—laugh a little. Trading's too stressful to not find some humor in it. Whether it’s buying that “on sale” trade that doesn’t fit, or pressing the wrong button at 2 a.m., we’ve all been there. And remember, VWAP is that calm, average voice in a volatile storm—like the parent who says, "Alright, everyone calm down," at the family gathering. It may not predict the future, but it certainly helps you know where you are right now. Have any secret VWAP tactics or hilarious trading blunders? Share them below—let's laugh and learn together. After all, the Forex market is unpredictable enough without us taking it too seriously. —————– Image Credits: Cover image at the top is AI-generated Read the full article

Platform Bubble: A transparent content library that lets you choose the brain you want for yourself based on the averaged neurological changes of the consumers of the book, course, film, drama, etc. curated or, if the changes are too small, based on the genre, discipline, institution, lecturer, author, director or other creators. That is the definitively life-revolutionizing choice we need on top of the choices of exhilaratingly but ultimately helplessly watching larvae taking over human brains in Parasyte: The Grey or [doomsday scifi spoiler] the dispatch of a human brain to forlorn outer space in 3 Body Problem, shows which recently topped a FlixPatrol global TV streaming chart in close succession.
Content and life are fast evolving, so we need to ensure whatever forms of societal compass we have with respect to them keep pace. Sharper differentiation between beneficial content and detrimental content enables the precise and efficient choice optimization that is ever more important against a backdrop of enrichment/entertainment option overload and harrowing time scarcity. The necessity is real whether you are pro-screen or anti-screen.
To identify with an "anti-screen" league might sound hypocritical in this smartphone age. Even this discourse is of necessity mediated through a screen. The temptation and justification for screen usage are made powerful by the current realities of modern living — the network effect (i.e. how the value of a good or service depends on the number of users, which in turn carries implications for any digital abstinence or digital hermitism on the part of users like business owners, commentators, creators or even simply run-of-the-mill career builders), phone-addicted spouses and buddies whose attention you switch on more readily through WhatsApp, the need to join social conversations around trending shows to avoid becoming an outcast, online-only opinion pieces, and essential services increasingly requiring web connectivity. Prominent reflections of authentic neurological changes that confirm purported negative consequences of viewing excessive onscreen violence and short-form content, for example, would be reminders that may abate the temptation and turn the tide of peer pressure to some extent. Physical written materials, in contrast, can cultivate patience, concentration and an appetite for deep contemplation, provided they are not part of any multitasking setup.
That said, the books-good-TV-bad mantra needs a nuance check given the transforming content landscape. Give fair chances to new works otherwise tarnished by past scientific findings on the harm of television watching and stop shallow publications from stealing precious minutes of our lives. Television can be a rich and cognitively stimulating form of storytelling, if screen creators care to make the best of their medium, whereas a financially threatened publishing industry surviving on conservative business ethos may keep selecting works that repeat the same ideas for up to hundreds of pages at a time to meet traditional length expectations and across tens of thousands of titles. Unlike text, screen details may await careful discovery, instead of always being spelled out one way or another. What an opportunity for bookish nerds to stretch our multiple faculties. Layered audiovisual worlds take this millions of steps further as they compact ideas, emotions and sociocultural, literary and academic references into mere minutes or even seconds. The caveat is that the brain catalog must carry a warning about the content-independent perils of excessive screen time.
Not relying solely on superficial theories and industry experiences vulnerable to future disruption, @netflix itself has had a biophysical lab that measured electrical activities in volunteers' brains as they watched videos. To take this to an ideal level, we might want to randomly select individuals, habitual users of a medium and others alike, for each item or group in the proposed content library and conduct magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or other suitable measurements of them before and after their consumption of the item or of a statistically significant number of group items. With massive samples of such individuals, any confounding factors would hopefully cancel out each other. To be sure, the problems with this approach are tremendous: staggering technical and logistical costs, denial of personal autonomy, riding roughshod over conscientious objection to consuming works of certain ideologies or themes.
One compromise would be comparing the neurological measurements of pairs or, if the numbers permit, paired pools of consenting, anonymized viewers who share similar biographical data and viewing histories but differ in whether they have consumed the content item or group under evaluation. A discounted price tier can be offered to incentivize the consent, data sharing and measurements. There are at least two complications, on top of the obvious analytical limitation of self-selection, however. First, while pure entertainment content may be viewed as merely a foregone luxury for non-consenting individuals, the same is not true for foregone enrichment items, including important academic books and courses as well as works of profound societal value that inspire you, for instance, to push on against your real-life difficulties or to take pride in your marginalized background. The consequence is the oft-discussed data-selling equivalent of organ selling for people of lesser means who actually need to consume the works. Second, discussions around TikTok bans and around familial genomic information have raised the concern that personal data is more than personal. The geopolitical and societal implications of massive data collection may be deemed troubling, however unfettered, authentic and informed the consent given is.
Until there is a solution or favorable consensus for challenges above, here is a suggestion for a crude proxy that circumvents them: a review site-like content library where each user can pick two shapes that she believes best represent the cognitive state and emotional state of her brain respectively after consuming a curated item. Polling on the shapes starts after complete consumption of the item is plausible. For example, the brain shape poll for a web series should start at a time that is the sum of the time of release of the finale of a web series and the running duration of the finale. To minimize the effect of any manipulation by rabid fandoms or unscrupulous commercial players, the most popular brain shapes for the item are to be unveiled only after the end of a reasonably long voting period, after which no more vote will be accepted. At least the fun concept itself should be sufficient non-monetary incentive for poll participation.
Quantitative surveys of neurological states need not obliterate any romance or particularity of a viewing or fiction reading experience. Just as you can imagine having separate fabulous friendships with twins with identical looks and similar personalities, the Shinichi-Migi bromance in the Japanese manga/anime version of Parasyte and the Suin-Heidi "sismance" (never mind that a widely-accepted term for female bromance still does not exist) in the South Korean live-action adaptation of Parasyte mentioned in the beginning may be both worth cherishing in their own rights, even if they all hold out brains in the shape of a reaper with a large heart as its head in poll results. Ditto for The Three-Body Problem franchise's Cheng Xin X Yun Tianming loveline and Cheng Jin (Jin Cheng) X Will Downing loveline, and any steaming, plasmoid-shaped brains.

Shawn is a Taurus man that embodies traits of determination, loyalty and resilience, grounded by his earth sign. Despite the tragedies in his life, Shawn possesses a great level of determination to persevere and protect those he cares about. His loyalty lies deep and will go to great lengths for his loved ones.
Like any Taurus man, Shawn is very stubborn and doesn’t like to be told what to do or how to do it. He doesn’t like to confront his own emotions and vulnerabilities as he rather takes care of others than himself and doesn’t think that sometimes he needs to be taken care of as well. This might result from his past relationship with Luca, who tried to wish Shawn’s life to be better, and it ended with Shawn losing everything he ever had.
He struggles with a lot of changes or big changes in his life. Shawn holds onto his past and his own routines, as they feel safe to him. He detests when others attempt to improve things for him.
In relationships, Shawn is devoted and protective, but struggles with trust and intimacy because of many factors from his past and what he does because of his past. Nevertheless, when he opens his heart, his love is steadfast and enduring, serving as a reliable support for those who are fortunate to earn his loyalty.
Shawn’s life was marked by a series of heartbreaking events that shaped him into the resilient yet haunted man he is today.
His story start with his mother, Mary, who discovered a chilling prophecy from her brother Robert Rowan. He told her that Shawn’s life will be cut short. By that time, he had seen many of the boy’s deaths and felt an obligation to tell Mary the truth of what he had seen many times. Shawn’s death before he would reach the age of ten. Mary knew of her brother’s skill and also knew that he wouldn’t lie to her.
Mary told her husband, Cillian, about the prophecy. He refused to believe such nonsense and waved the warning away. Despite her husband’s scepticism, Mary went on a mission to save her son. She came across a supernatural relic that might save her son’s life. It came in a form of a charm. This charm she kept around her neck from then on out, keeping it close.
She tried to keep her son safe, but one fateful event had them involved in a huge collision with multiple cars and they were stuck in the middle. Shawn died as he had hit his head against the glass next to him, among other injuries. Mary used the charm as was instructed, well aware of the price. Her life to save his.
Shawn woke up in the hospital two weeks later. Confused about what had happened and why his uncle was there and not his father. Robert told him he and his mother had been in a car accident and that she didn’t make it. When Shawn asked about his father, Robert couldn’t answer. How was someone going to tell a young boy that their father didn’t want to see them?
When Shawn regained his strength, he returned home and expected a warm welcome from his father, as young boys do. Instead, he received the cold shoulder from a scarcely sober man. Cillian drowned his pain with alcohol and shared his sharp words and opinions with his son. How he was the reason that she was dead and it didn’t take long for him to believe them.
As Shawn grew older and Cillian’s addiction was more severe. The verbal abuse moved to physical abuse. It started with smacks and taps, but with each passing week, it grew more and more severe.
Shawn still saw his uncle from time to time, sleeping at his place to get away from the sorrow filled home. Dreading to head back home each time.
Even through all the pains of his home life. Shawn kept his grates up. He knew his father would never pay for college, unlikely to do so either, as coming by was already difficult to keep up with his addiction. He worked in a supermarket to help pay with the rent and other bills. When he was old enough to work in a bar, he did and loved the job too. It was at that place where he discovered a deep appreciation for whiskey, discovering the art of responsible consumption rather than indulging in excessive drinking commonly seen in bars. There, he could forget about his own life and focus on others.
It’s also where he met Luca, who was visiting with a group of friends. Their relationship grew fast, but not uncomfortably. Shawn tried to keep his family life out of their relationship, but eventually had to tell about his situation. Shawn couldn’t stay away from home too long. He had to take care of his father, who by that time had grown ill through his alcohol abuse. He needed to stock up on groceries, keep the house clean, fix everything that broke down. This eventually led to Shawn dropping out of college to take better care of his father when he wasn’t working.
At a fair he and Luca went to together, Luca saw a fortune-teller. Shawn refused to walk with him as he didn’t believe in that stuff and it made him uncomfortable. When he walked out, Luca wore the warmest and biggest of smiles Shawn had ever seen and when he asked about it, all he got was ‘it’s a surprise’. It turns out Luca was given a marble that could grand one wish, though that there was a price to be paid. The price, however, was vague and Luca thought little of it when he made the wish for a better life for his boyfriend.
That wish came true the day after, little by little. Shawn found his father clearing up his collection of beer and other boozes. Cillian cleaned up his act and as days passed by, he became a better father than Shawn ever remembered him to be. Cillian might have looked better over the days, but his boyfriend looked worse and worse. He became skittish and frightful. One night when Shawn slept over at Luca’s, he was awoken by a thrashing Luca and it was then that Shawn pulled out the information about what Luca had done for him. Initially, he doubted it, but it made sense how things had changed rapidly. Together they went back to the fortune-teller to undo the wish, as the price was not worth his boyfriend’s sanity. It was said that if you break the marble, the wish will become undone, leaving out some crucial details.
They broke the marble together and, just like the fortune-teller told them, things turned back to normal. His father became the alcoholic he always knew him to be and peace returned to Luca’s mind, most of it anyway. Shadows followed him wherever he went, and that shadow materialized when Luca went to Shawn’s home to pick him up. He heard them arguing about something and went inside to help. Cillian attacked Luca in an alcohol-fuelled rage and killed Luca. Then Cillian tried to kill his son and when he failed to do so, he killed himself.
Shawn lost everything that day and was forced to believe that cursed objects were a thing. He talked with his uncle about it, and it was then that Robert told him how Shawn was alive and his mother dead. That Shawn was dead for a few minutes before he was brought back. It wasn’t the work of medical care, but of some supernatural force. Robert also told him that such events brands a soul, meaning that Shawn might have gifts he suppressed through the years.
He asked his uncle to help him develop those skills so he could help others with situations such as his own. Learn about it, prevent it from happening or find a better solution than the end he had gotten with Luca and his father.
Shawn feels the energy of supernatural artifacts and locations, which are helpful on his hunt for them.
He can see the dead, not in detail, but as a silhouette.
Somewhat resilient to the effect of supernatural objects.

I dare not, can bear not
To ask God for things. I was always a fearful child, the thought of any request just too immense to even contemplate. I won't ask Him for the gift of one I love and selfishly yearn to possess; one I don't deserve and have not earned. I won't ask for the patience or charity or guidance or discipline I lack. What nonsense to ask for things you are incapable of even cultivating? Why would I take a sprout from my neighbor when I have not the ability to water it, care for it, enjoy it's fruit? And truthfully enjoyment even is lost on me. I lack so so so many fucking things and maybe if I asked, id receive. That's how it goes isn't it?
I cannot ask, I am just as afraid of the only father I've ever had as I am of the earthly parents He's given me. I have to trust that He knows what I need and will deliver it...otherwise I'd always be asking for insight, intelligence, compassion, empathy, a body that functions...He will send me what is mine and it apparently had never been these things. So if wisdom or patience is to be mine, if confidence or the love I seek to own is to be mine then it will be. I might lack courage but I do not lack trust in God. He has never failed me and I will not ask anything of the One who has always provided. I have been ungrateful enough.
#stupid idiot#catholicism#writing#faith#feelings#i wish i was dead but if i ask for that im fucked up right???#exactly#so i aint finna ask for nothing#what we think we want is never what we truly need

Interview 1: Miss Ayla
Ayla: You get five questions.
Daemeon: ::Salutes:: ::puts the eraser of the pencil against his bottom lip, and then busily starts crossing off questions::
Daemeon: Okay, Question One: What is your most important reason for coming back? (Miss Ayla was gone for almost three years)
Ayla: I didn't want to leave at all. But I knew I couldn't stay while Amy was working on her therapy. I knew I couldn't sit still and let her break everything that needed to be broken because my job is to keep things from breaking. And there is nowhere in all the worlds as soft as the heart where you belong.
Daemeon: ::nods wisely:: Question Two. Favorite Weapons?
Ayla: ::smiles:: Tooth and Claw. Identical Tanto. Crazy temperline, black wrought iron oblong tsuba, made in the style of the "really psycho smiley mask" I used to wear all the time. Matte black sheaths, black leather wrapped handles with black fur tufts. That was an easy one.
Daemeon: They can't all be hard ones! But I suppose that this one is probably a little harder. Question Three: What is your Job going to be now that you're back?
Ayla: ::leans forward menacingly:: Who says I need a job?
Daemeon: ::is not intimidated:: Dodging the question is not answering a question, so I get two more for every question you dodge.
Ayla: ::raises an eyebrow:: You have grown treacherous in our time apart, little one. I shall have to be more careful. But I will answer the question I have been asked. While I cannot be a disciplinarian and enforcer of perfection as I once was, I can still assist with proper application of discipline. I can remind about the agreement about discipline before pain, and compassion after. I can urge patience in the face of confusion and failure to function. And I can remind Amy to do it wrong. Whatever it is. To unlearn the way she has thought. Do it wrong to create a new way. It was easy, so easy, to slide back into place. Like a dagger into it's sheath. And who knows. Everyone else has grown. Perhaps I too will sprout wings and horns or tails like everyone else. ::smirk::
Daemeon: ::giggles:: You always were kind of, well, Normal compared to the rest of us.
Ayla: For values of normal including "most psychotic".
Daemeon: Kalok, I think, would fight you for that title.
Ayla: ::considers carefully:: I am not certain I could beat them in a fair fight. They are far too strong to confront directly. But no fight with them is ever fair, and given an opportunity to catch them off guard, I could prevail.
Daemeon: ::giggles:: I think you could. But you'd have to get Real Lucky. ::wiggles his eyebrows::
Ayla: Ask your questions, boy.
Daemeon: What is your Guilty Pleasure?
Ayla: Besides Nostalgia in general?
Daemeon: Dodging!! ::points at her with the pencil::
Ayla: Not Dodging! Clarifying!
Daemeon: ::squints skeptically:: I will let you off with a Warning.
Ayla: Ouran High School Host Club
Daemeon: ::Falls on the Floor:: OMYGOD I LOVE THAT SHOOOW! ::cackles:: I never in a Thousand years imagined that you liked it! Who is your Favorite Character!??
Ayla: Kyoya, of course. And that is your Five Questions.
Daemeon: Oh NO! You Cheated!!!!
Ayla: Not at all. I merely Counted.
Daemeon: ::pouts:: And it was just getting Good!! Well there you have it Critters and Creatures. A special Exclusive interview from under the Rock! Thanks Miss Ayla, for your time and giving us a peak under the hood!

Oh sure, the baby!! I'll use this as a chance to sum up some thoughts that I came up with while thinking about him and how they work with Timur 👀
Yes, I think Colovance is a surprisingly normal, decent person; and honestly that's quite an achievement if you remember that he lives in the Dark Age. It has chewed, broken and traumatized both physically and mentally quite a number of people, and it's not like he hasn't seen or experienced some shit himself. Looking at him it's hard to imagine that, but also it's like. His thing. His mental resilience and the amount of patience and compassion are pretty impressive, and I think that's what Timur cherishes about him as well. He's like a living proof at his side that the world doesn't need to be a shitty weird place - it can also be nice, peaceful, normal. Even with all those awful things happening right now, they don't need to last forever - and when they will come to an end, they won't leave only ashes behind. To him, Colovance is the embodiment of home as that safe, warm place where somebody is always waiting for you and is worried about you. Like a reminder of what they are even fighting for. A lighthouse in the middle of a sea is a very simple building, yet you need it desperately in a storm.
I think Colovance is that type of extremely disciplined energetic people, who manage their time really well and have no problem following the plan they made for themselves. That's how he manages to get everywhere and do everything in time, keeping track of both his and Lord Timur's schedules (because discipline and Timur live in some parallel worlds, it seems, and he just keeps jumping chaotically between different tasks). Except for some things Colovance is purposefully slacking off, when he can… Like combat training 💀 He's very clear-headed and well-behaved, and even though at times it may seem he overworries for nothing and sticks to the rules too much, that's also what makes him extremely reliable and trustworthy. My guess here is that Colovance is just really good in separating things and drawing borders - like, he admires Lord Timur endlessly and his wild lateral thinking fascinates him, but he won't hesitate to ground and hold him back when things are going too far or start spiraling out of anyone's control. Or like that I think he enjoys reading fiction a lot (especially fantasy novels probably asdklfhdsak) - but doesn't like spending time daydreaming and keeps his feet firmly on the ground, so to speak.
He likes to keep everything (and everyone) around himself in order, but being pretty gentle and chill by the nature, he can't really be too strict or pushy about it. He would clean up Timur's workshop, Timur will turn it into an absolute mess the next day (and will be very surprised how did that even happen and why he can't find anything anymore, it was so neat and clean just a moment ago and he hasn't even done anything yet???), and Colovance will just sigh, scold him a bit and clean everything up again. And again. And again. And that is a neverending circle 😂
Another important thing - Colovance's dislike for fighting and conflicts leads to both his strongest and weakest traits. On one hand, it makes him really good at diplomacy, quite immune to stress and being able to keep a cool head and see a solution or a compromise in a situation anyone else would've long given up. On the other hand, he'd often rather give in and back up than step into a direct confrontation. That of course doesn't involve life/death situations, protecting the people and other serious stuff like that; this is out of question, of course. But when it's about him alone or something not that important - he'd rather leave it be than try to stand his ground and get into a fight. That and clearly setting his boundaries is something he really needs to learn (I think Timur hopes spending time with Osiris will help him with that lololol).
Oh, and I think he likes to spend as much time in the village as possible, just talking to people, helping them with something or even just playing with kids! I think Colovance is extremely curious and social and just loves learning all the fresh news and listening to people's stories, especially when it comes first-hand. Which of course leads to him often acquiring quite a bit of useful information and pretty much knowing everything about everyone.
So yup, imo there's nothing too exciting or fancy about him, but that's what I like him for! He's the "I guess I'm the only normal person here >>" guy, you really need that to balance some other, perhaps way too striking personalities in this house 👀💙
Headcannon time! I just love hearing your thoughts and insights on these characters you’ve brought so much life to so dealer’s choice! Anything for anyone, what’s been rolling around or popped up by surprise maybe while you’re working one one of your projects recently that’s dug in and taken root? Or maybe you’ve found yourself specifically referencing in your art - the, ‘it must be this way’ sort of detail? Drag us in I wanna hear it you tell the best stories ❤️

I'm... Really bad at these things, I have too much and none at all thoughts at the same time about everyone and everything 😭 I'm always happy to talk about my blorbos, but maybe pick a more specific theme or characters?.. I don't know what or who to write about off the top of my head, I'm very sorry...
