My actual favorite part of wisdom saga is telemachus trying to lean against Athena (he thought about that for .03 seconds and then was like nah !!! :D she's my friend not the goddess of war!!! Good to see that the audacity is running strong in odysseus's family) and then just passed threw her and fell on the floor. And then Athena did not move at all!!! And just stood there looking at him.

he says i hate everyone except you and that is addictive and that is kind of romantic and beautiful because you're young and you're kind of a sarcastic asshole too and you don't like bad boys, per say, but you don't really like good ones either. and you like that you were the exception, it felt like winning.

except life is not a romance book, and he was kind of being honest. he doesn't learn to be nice to your friends. he only tolerates your family. you have to beg him to come with you to birthday parties, he complains the whole time. you want to go on a date but - people are often there, wherever you're going. he's just so angry. about everything, is the thing. in the romance book, doesn't he eventually soften? can't you teach him, through your own sense of whimsy and comfort?

at first - you know introverts often need smaller friend groups, and honestly, you're fine staying at home too. you like the small, tidy life you occupy. you're not going to punish him for his personality type.

except: he really does hate everyone but you. which means he doesn't get along with his therapist. which means he has no one to talk to except for you. which means you take care of him constantly, since he otherwise has no one. which means you sometimes have to apologize for him. which means he keeps you home from seeing your friends because he hates them. you're the single exception.

about a decade from this experience, you'll type into google: how to know if a relationship is codependent.

he wraps an arm around you. i hate everyone except you. these days, you're learning what he's actually confessing is i have very little practice being kind.

The Council of Optimuses: Pleasant, generally positive, they exiled Bayverse a while ago but they still check in once in a while to make sure he's ok/out of curiosity, Earthspark enables One's 'I can fix him' delusion to the point that Prime is falling into it too, IDW does NOT want to add to the delusion pile so he shuts up, Cyberverse kinda doesn't want to be at this meeting it feels too much like a party, IDW keeps making calls to somebody but he won't tell anyone who, they used to have 'bring your Bumblebee to work day' but Skybound had a breakdown over it so they can't do that anymore, everybody is suspicious of Skybound's new arm but the only person who actually brought it up was Bayverse whose solution was 'kill him' so now everybody thinks they are getting paranoid and should maybe start seeing a therapist (they should start seeing therapists, but they ARE right about the arm).

The Council of Megatrons: They are having a great time even if it looks horrible from the outside looking in, Prime constantly wants to fight IDW for his spot as the strongest Megatron but IDW is not about that, they tried to kick out Earthspark but he somehow keeps getting in (IDW leaves the door open), One has like 5 devils on his shoulder telling him to escalate and two fallen angels who are desperately trying to get across that maybe total destruction isn't the move, IDW is trying to hide his redemption arc in order to keep the situation under control (only Earthspark is aware of it, though Skybound has his suspicions), Cyberverse always tries to kill the others to take over their universes and it's the highlight of everybody's month, Bayverse is mocked for being killed by Optimus but secretly everybody is kinda jealous about it (Prime especially), one time an unidentified Starscream (it was Animated) broke in and it was on sight (he got away because every Megatron wanted to be the one who killed him and they fought each other over it), IDW keeps taking calls from somebody but he won't tell anyone who, Skybound can listen in on his Optimus's meetings due to being his arm and reports back, there is an ongoing debate about whether Galvatrons should be included.

a short little story dedicated to @emsprovisions for gifting us with so much holiday joy this month

TK didn’t think it would be possible. Hell, if you asked him ten years ago, he would have told you it shouldn’t be possible. Though, somehow, it is.

He’s happy. He’s 30, he’s married to the love of his life, he’s raising a child who will always know the warmth of a hug, and he’s happy.

He’s staring out the window of his home, one hand curled around the handle of his red mug. Carlos and Jonah are currently on their driveway, creating snowflakes on the ashen ground with pale blue chalk. Monday ushered in a flurry of flakes, but they’ve been intermittent since.

Jonah was missing the snow, so Carlos thought he’d try to give him the next best thing. Carlos’ chestnut curls are concealed by an olive green beanie, russet tendrils spooling underneath. He looks like everything TK’s ever wished for.

Jonah’s cherubic face is looking up at Carlos with a gap toothed smile, staring through shaggy strands of brunette hair. He giggles at something Carlos says and it makes his eyes crinkle, reminding TK of his mother; their mother.

Carlos looks up at him, his nose red and lips flustered. He smiles and TK grins back, happy.

Eventually, TK joins them outside. He lets the brisk, winter chill cocoon him as he wraps his scarf around his neck, planting a chaste kiss on his husband’s lips before joining his little brother on the concrete.

He guides Jonah’s hand as he shows him how to draw the Star of David, his heart swelling at the way his hand eclipses Jonah’s tiny one. After, Jonah utters out, “Mom,” and TK can’t help but think of the Star of David charm Gwyn wore like a birthmark. It’s in all of her pictures.

He presses a kiss to the crown of Jonah’s head before agreeing, “Mom.”

Slowly, snow starts to fall and they decide to break for hot chocolate. Well, TK and Carlos decide to break for hot chocolate. Jonah’s fast asleep in Carlos’ arms as they walk back into the house.

As he waits for the water to boil, TK takes another glance outside. Flakes are still freely floating to the ground, and ultimately they’ll cover everything in sight, covering the chalk. Eventually, it’ll melt, and all that’ll be left will be an expanse of just grey; much like he was when he first moved to Austin.

Then, Carlos and Jonah will go back outside and add more color to it; and they’ll be happy.

The problem with naming and inscribing things (e.g., calling your experience of malaise, "the Pit of Despair" and talking about what that feels like) is that you get better at identifying what's happening internally. Rather than doing strange things for mysterious reasons, you are doing things for obvious reasons! Not...you know, good reasons, but still, you can turn the lights on and watch the creepy, scuttling things in your subconscious writhe around in full view.

This might sound like a positive thing, but the problem is that you are nevertheless still missing step two, which is: how the hell do you fix it.

Solas and Mythal’s relationship is that perfect blend of fucked up and tragic I have been wanting from them for a decade. The mother and her child, the two lovers, a queen and a general, the dog and its master, the servant and the lord. Love it. I knew I sensed fuckery with the way solas talked about her despite ‘burning her off his face’. Then to see him shrinking up in front of her, how he groaned ‘mythal’ in dread and even began to hold the dagger out towards her to take bc he knows he’ll do anything for her if she asks. man needs therapy for his absolutely disastrous and problematic situationship thank you for letting me watch your traumas unfold like that king
