So, usually, I just use warm water and a washcloth to wash my face and then apply moisturizer. Once in the morning. Once in the evening. I have an extra goo for the mornings as well because my skin was feeling dry with just the regular moisturizer.

Once a week, I use a cleanser and a medicated pad to basically deep clean my skin.

Anyway, I had to order new exfoliating pads because I ran out of the last ones, and the previous ones were from elf, but these new ones are from Loreal, and they arrived, and they say on the side "for daily use".

And I swear I heard my poor, over-scrubbed, over-clean, acne-sore skin from my teenage years rise up from the grave and scream like a banshee.

I was NOT minimal in my skin routine as a teen because everywhere you looked, you were told you had to use cleanser twice a day and also astringent and also moisturizer, and then if you got bad pimples, it was clearly because you were just an oily-faced creature and not because you were stripping everything off your skin twice and day and basically deforesting your face then trying to reforest overnight.

Long story short, in my twenties I finally stopped tearing my face to shreds and 95% of my acne problems went away. The routine I have now is what I want: simple, not skin-shredding, and everything I use truly feels like it serves a purpose.

Pantalone and Dottore buzzing in my brain. Being in a poly relationship with them but they’re both so possessive of you in they’re own ways they can barely stand seeing the other with you.

Like Pantalone always pampering you and giving you gifts to show he can treat you far better than that doctor and Dottore making you little trinkets out of scrap metal (it’s endearing if nothing else) and always clinging to you, kissing your cheeks, giving you as much physical attention as he can (they both do this but Dottore would be much more public about it methinks, also Pantalone getting fussy cause he like gets you on an amazing skin care routine and Dottore has a gall to blemish your perfect skin by biting you, drives him up the wall)

Eventually from your pushing they learn to share you (maybe even tolerate each other to the point they can begrudgingly say they’re boyfriends) and just join together in their possessiveness😭

They get all fussy if you even look at another person for too long and will drag you away or cling to you to try and scare the other person away. It’s never your fault! No, no, it’s always the annoyance. How dare someone even try to take your attention, let alone speak to you when the two are around. Oughh if another harbinger grabs your attention they will not be afraid to get snappy with them, even if they’re higher ranking.

HAHAHA SO TRUE getting to your breaking point because your boyfriends can't get along, you love them dearly but you cannot go another day with another passive-aggressive comment to each other. So you just leave for a bit. The only note you leave is that by the time you come back, they better be more civil towards each other. The two men are dead silent when they read that and think you just went out for a few hours perhaps but nope. You went out on a whole mission for a week or two. They both deserve kisses all over their cheeks, 100%. And also kiss them both on the lips to get them to stop arguing. But also do it quickly because if you kiss one for too long, the other will get irritated. Mhm, but then they collectively decide you haven't kissed them long enough so then you all are just kissing each other for an extended period of time. Good stuff.

the thing abt mental illness that sucks is. the stuff that people tell you makes it better doesn't actually always make it better in the moment. and it's hard when ur low energy but i think a lot of people get this idea of "it doesn't help so i'm not going to do it" but sometimes you gotta reframe it and see it as like. okay this doesn't make it better but it's also not going to make it worse. like washing your face might not make you feel better but it also won't make it worse. gentle exercise won't necessarily make you feel but it won't make you feel worse. going outside isn't going to fix anything but it also won't make it worse. trying to see them as neutral things rather than a magic cure. and the thing is over time when these things build up and it becomes routine, it DOES make it better. but it takes time and consistency. in the meantime though it won't make it worse.

for anyone else out there struggling with insomnia, I'm sharing this just in case it helps anyone else: my doctor suggested 5 mg melatonin for me. It didn't make me sleep better and also gave me pretty bad side effects like having brain fog the day after, like I was completely unable to think and my reactions were slowed down to the point I would've been a danger in traffic. but I switched to a lower dose of 3 mg melatonin and not only do I have no side effects from that dose but ALSO IT WORKED. I've actually consistently slept 7-8 hours for the past week since I switched dose. I don't know the science behind that but lowering the dose worked better to put me to sleep.

Oh yes. It is very involved. As a child Odette was always making 'potions' out of anything she could get a hold of. Were it not for the math and intelligence needed for alchemy she would have slotted into the work neatly. Thankfully, her skincare routine scratches the same itch for her. Her tinctures. In general, Odette is very concerned about her appearance. She finds herself to be beautiful, how could she not divine bride that she is; but, for better or for worse, she is Incredibly Aware of her State of Being. A lot of her skincare and general beauty routine are focused on restoring a sense of life to her face. However, she is also a young woman, for all her grand purposes, and she follows trends with a certain thrill. To spy someone wearing a similar style brings her a jolt of glee. A woman of simple delights. As far as skin texture: Cold, incredibly so, and often a little clammy. The smoothness of youth with the pallor of a corpse. Dotted with the occasional mole. With stretch marks like slivers of blessed moonlight across her stomach, hips, and thighs.
