actually one more AO3 thing, since I’ve seen it going around: guys, you are fine. open AO3 tabs are not a security threat. as far as I’m aware, there is not actually an active DNS attack. you may get a screen from your firewall, AO3’s firewall, or your browser warning you that there may be a DNS attack occurring. this means those things are working correctly (good!), but given that AO3 also appears to be trying to set up a cloudflare instance while under active siege, those are almost certainly false positives caused by the fact AO3 is completely reconfiguring their servers. (your browser is recognizing the site is re-routing you to a different place than expected and stopping you from going there, which is good, but also expected given AO3 is trying to set up cloudflare under active siege.) even if it is a DNS attack, currently open tabs will not suddenly steal your information. those are already loaded. they are inert. they will be fine. trying to open the AO3 homepage will probably not break anything. you won’t get anything (you’re most likely to see a cloudflare triage right now and then a “try again later���), but like, it’s not about to hurt you, especially if you don’t proceed past the warning screen (if you get it).

a moment that’s really stuck with me from the trial is during lestat’s apology when claudia reminds louis of his possible insincerity and the futility of his apology. what’s most significant is that in the face of danger claudia is the one out of the two who takes the lead. claudia always as louis’s protector. nursing him after being brutally beaten by lestat. conceiving the plan to murder their maker. leading them through war-torn europe. claudia’s fearlessness and determination is what urges louis to continue moving forward. to leave america behind and all the pain it signifies and find others like them. to start a new life and finally (try to) escape lestat’s grasp. claudia was louis’s spark in the dark but that spark was his life-force. his willingness to continue living was tied to her existence. his anchor amidst the chaos. if claudia was not by his side then what was the point in hiding from the sun anymore. it takes a failing relationship, two interviews and suppressing his grief for over half a century for louis to be able to speak of how much he loved and adored claudia. and learning to live without her will surely take more than a thousand sunsets.

I love Jazzy, just as a general rule, but something that caught my eye in the beginning was the little ways Jazz’s brother treats his brother like shit.

Looking at the anime, it makes sense why they censored the women and kept the mess to a minimum for animations sake, but at least he’s clothed and awake. It makes it seem as though Jazz’s older brother is doing it for the soul purpose of being a bastard.

But looking at the manga, he’s asleep. The curtains and couch are torn, the mess is purely clothes, food, and drinks.

His brother isn’t even awake to gloat. The manga gives the impression that Jazz’s brother disregards his space on a regular, to the point where he feels comfortable passing out drunk half naked in his brothers space.

I know it’s not just me, but having a room- that’s supposed to be a safe space- violated repeated by sights and smells you don’t know? This poor kid has no sense of privacy or safety. His family literally runs on the idea that if you get robbed it’s your fault.
